Soul Food Shack Inglewood

The food is so good and NOT greasy/oily! Everything is well seasoned. I didn’t need to add ketchup and pepper to the potatoes nor on the eggs, and I didn’t even use syrup for the french toast! I ate everything as is. Hats off to the chef in Inglewood!! Everyone is super nice and accommodating too. I’m definitely going to be a regular

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I have had in the area in a while ! and they make a great breakfast !!...Turkey Chop & eggs w/Sweet T ...😛😜😍. The decor is welcoming , clean & fresh. Liza a Mgr is humble, Knowledgeable & very pleasant. A very NEEDED change in Inglewood ! ...prices to portion size fair 👍 quality/taste above ...i can't wait to go back ! **unlike other establishments...their prices are not "padded" 1)your meal/drink 2)the city tax 3)your tip (if you choose) **no nickel&dimming&adding a "surcharge" of any kind take out or dine in ***update 1/26 👉I found a flaw...although it taste ok... the peach cobbler is WAAAAAAY overpriced👉👉@ $12 (for the portion size & lack of crust n' juice overloaded with peaches / no crust on top 😕🤦)...someone was obviously inhaling too much "cinnamon & nutmeg" when the came up with that "value" for this particular (bowl) of Peach Cobbler !...fool me once !lol ****update 2/4 👉great service today they were out of a baked chicken which the server came out to inform me ...and I was pleasantly surprised the Manager was willing to compromise & compensated me a "good faith" discount for another meat ! 😊😊👉now that is good & professional business !👊👊 Thanks Rhonda ! ****Update 2/11👉It seems they are "down" a Manager 🕵(Liza)& a busser (at least tonight)🤷...i'll just say although the restroom was surprisingly immaculate due to the seemingly lack of staff...my table wasn't cleaned to its best...the condiments bottle (ketchup) was overflowing at the top like a Tomato 🌋...🤦 crumbs under all the table "accessories" the napkin dispenser was filthy and I peeped one table of 3 who were noticeably upset with the service ...my service towards the end got "weird"...to sum it up although as a business owner you want to bring in "family" , "friends" & hire from within your (targeted) community...sometimes experience, skill set & credentials need to play a more prominent role in hiring choices(especially in Mom&Pop establishments). It also appears the owners here/ Managers need to have a more "present" & "hands on" role during service NOT JUST IN THE BACK BUT ON THE FLOOR as well ! , of course not Micro Managing , but just "overseeing" service because it's clear the young (female) staff that was working yesterday late lunch/dinner shift seemed a bit under qualified & overwhelmed ...im so rooting for this place since my first visit, however it is time to start "working out the kinks...the "newness" period is lessing. There needs to be much more service accountability & Management & service consistency ...I truly wish them well going forward !🙏 ***based on yesterdays service I had to drop my 5 star to 4 & drop the service star to 3...this is the second visit where I witnessed an "subpar" service experience given to other "in-dining" guests

Amazing experience from the expedient service to the ambiance to the food (which is most important 😆) One of the best dining experiences I have had in Inglewood! The breakfast was amazing … and portion sizes - OMG! We ordered chicken & waffles. It came with eggs and potatoes (for less than other restaurants charge for just chicken and waffles). I’m not a fan of eggs but I couldn’t stop myself from finishing mine. We also ordered the oxtails, Mac n cheese, greens and yams! OMG!!! IT WAS EVERYTHING! The server, Damien, was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. Owner also passed by to ensure we were having a great dining experience (which we were). Food prices to portion sizes are more than fair. My husband and I got full of the chicken & waffles, just purchased the ox tails to take home to support small business. But it was great as well!

This delightful restaurant opened just a few days ago and we were one of the lucky ones to enjoy the food already. The interior is beautiful, the staff welcomed us at the door and created a warm environment. We had their all day breakfast and it was delicious. We’ll definitely be back for ox tails and fried catfish! Our favorite moment was when a man walked in to dine and diners at several tables greeted him warmly with “Hello Pastor!”

I ordered online at 12:15PM. Online stated food pickup ready at 12:45PM. I have watched 7 families arrive after me and be seated. I've watched 5 people order in person after me to go and receive their food. I have now been waiting an hour and 15 minutes and counting! No apologies, no updates, no complimentary food or beverage. The absolute worst experience ever! I would bout recommend this place! They don't even let customers know upfront how long the wait is!

Great soul food spot in the heart of inglewood. I tried this new location within a few weeks of their opening, and I think they were still figuring some things out in the kitchen. But they'll get there. Service was friendly, and the home fries were amazing.

The quality and freshness of the food is good, but the quantity to price can be better. The serving size of the sides (i.e., Eggs & grits) could be bigger for the price you pay.
