Probably one of the nicest municipal courses you can play in Southern California. Awesome track, good value at $49 for greens fees. It can get really hot in the summer with not a lot of shade and still the course was in good shape. Because it’s so popular rounds can get a bit long I hear but we finished in 5 hours on a summer Sunday which is respectable in my opinion. Overall a great day and would recommend.

Google
This place is incredible!!! When I first arrived and viewed the golf course from the outside patio at Zaidees, I was enthralled with the way all my senses were stimulated. The course is beyond beautiful with the greens and vegetation as well as beautiful unique trees. Hummingbirds were nesting in the trees and dropping down to the flower bushes to sip nectar. The incredible scent from the vegetation was like a fancy spa aroma. Unfortunately my nose got accustomed to it and I was unable to enjoy on subsequent visits unless I got up close to the plants. The food was 1st class and service beyond expectations. My salmon meal was more than I could finish and cooked and seasoned to flaky perfection. I would highly recommend the course and the restaurant to anyone looking to spend time in Ojai!

Very nice course with lots of great views. Loved 16th hole. My 502nd different golf course.

This is the first time visiting this place, living here for almost 20 years...lol...My very good friend took me for my Birthday.. it was wonderful to spend time. But, everything was ok!!Got a yummy drink, yes ur girl is a fruity drink kinda girl. That was tweeked for me liking. I would recommend this place if u want a quick bite to eat. Hang out and chill..the only down fall is the ride in...horrible roads broken and very bumpy..i had to say that, but it truly doesnt say anything about the restaurant itself. Just alittle side note. Go and try it out. Be the judge for yourself...😊enjoy!!

Google
What a gem. Beautiful. Uncrowded. I don’t know much about the course technically but it sure looks like a lovely place for a round. So nice for a public course. And Zaidee’s is fantastic!!

Google
Played in the Socal Senior Campionships in early June. The course was in great shape. The greens are the key, lots of swells so hit your number.

Kelsey was in charge of my daughters wedding that we had 9/14/24. She took care if us like we were family. Aided by Cora who was directing staff and Big shout out to Brianna who really stepped up and was the go to person for the event. The food was the best many of our guests had ever had at a wedding. Tables, chairs etc were all set up perfectly for the wedding. Such an amazing backdrop on hole #1 tee box where it took place. As the father of the bride, I highly recommend to anyone having a wedding that needs to be a special event, contact Soule as they stepped up and made it a very special wonderful lifelong memory

Google
What a beautiful course. Absolutely great for me (a novice, at best!). My reasoning for the 3 stars is for the bar service; and lack of beverage cart out on the course! Came for New Year’s Day and the bar was slammed with non-golfers. Took 25 min just to get hot dogs and beers before back nine. Our cart battery died on 18 too; it happens. Again, loved the course though…

Yelp
Finally got to experience this place for the first time. It's been on my list for quite a while but my buddy Chris and I were in the area a couple weeks back and had to check it out. First of all the layout and playability of the course were incredible. Definitely fair off the tee and the options around the green are what really set this place apart from other public courses. The green complexes themselves were in fair shape, but the contours and movement were exceptional. Folks in this area are definitely spoiled to have this course in their rotation. The only knock on this course was the pace of play. We teed off right after 2pm on a Sunday and had to stop play on the 16th after 5 hours due to darkness. We didn't see one Marshall on the course all day and the groups in front of us didn't really move with a purpose until right before darkness set it. While this may not have solved the problem it would have at least looked like they were trying to pick up the pace. I'll definitely be back to give them another try.

Yelp
Note: this review was hidden (possibly by golf course) on Google. I typically don't write reviews but I have decided to finally write one this time. I accompanied my boyfriend and his sister to this golf course a few weeks ago as a spectator. Upon registration, which was a few min before our tee time, the staff member at the front (Scott I believe) was extremely rude and unprofessional when my boyfriend mentioned that he had a spectator with him. While I understand the frustration of our timing, it did not give him the right to say f*** at my boyfriend. He could have simply expressed his frustration in a less aggressive way. I also want to mention that we had called days earlier and were told spectators were okay. And let's be honest, if my boyfriend was a white male he wouldn't have reacted in that way. I want to mention that we were also denied an extra golf cart because according to him, they didn't have any spare ones that day. So three of us had to ride around in one cart while plenty of solo drivers drove past us. Aside from stunning views I can't really say we had a pleasant experience.

Yelp
I get the pairing of twosomes for pace purposes but then when you have some random old guy playing as a single (how??), and he's just jumping around different holes cutting people off, that's a turnoff. Then the pro shop does nothing about it. At least have someone come out and either make the single pair up with a group, or make him wait like everyone. Plus when it's 97 degrees, make sure the water coolers are filled up.

Jenny M.

Yelp
I don't even know how to appropriately express the beauty of this golf course. The fact that it's a public course and has some of the most well kept greens and grounds I've been to was shocking. The price point is low for the quality of the course. We interacted with the gentleman I believe was the owner and he was so nice and accommodating. This is an A+ course and a true gem. We will be back.

Alan W.

Yelp
The course was in good shape, but the starter, whose name Scott is a grumpy old man who needs an attitude adjustment and has no consideration for politeness and customer service

Ginny M.

Yelp
Great staff Good course They didn't have a cart that went around so that was a bummer What golf course doesn't have a cart going around

Alex C.

Yelp
I was lured into driving to Ojai by some high praise given to Soule Park (Golfweek's #23 ranked public course in California). After driving into the cracked, jarring parking lot and hit by a wayward range ball while walking to the clubhouse, I was beginning to second-guess my trek to these Ventura County foothills. A few hours later, the second-guessing was a distant memory after a uniquely enjoyable round of golf. Soule Park's bones are undoubtedly muni, but laid on top of this basic layout are some fantastic Gil Hanse bunkering and green complexes. It's as if a muni and a classic golden age design mated and out spat out this golf course. The deep, craggily bunkers are great to look at, but still play second fiddle to the absolutely wild green complexes. With crazy slopes all over the place, you have to put the ball in the right locations on the greens and use the slopes to your advantage. I also love how broad areas around the greens are moved very tightly, allowing you to putt from well off the green. In fact, because they keep the greens and collars so firm, you really HAVE to treat it as a links-style course and play the ground game in order to shoot well. Although the tee to green layout is not that complicated, the green complexes force a lot of strategy as to how to play your shots. For a muni, the course was in very good shape, even more so considering how reasonable the green fees are. Surrounded by mountains and mature trees, it's also a lovely setting. It may be a trek to get there, but Soule Park is definitely worth the effort.

Yelp
Please, please, please redo the parking lot. Currently like hole-filled brown shoes with a tuxedo. There are no visible lines to dictate where the parking spaces are, which yesterday resulted in my being boxed in by a truck parked in front of me and a small car behind me. Since there were cars to my side, I had to wait 40 minutes for a car to the side to leave and open a way for me to exit. And that's not to mention the potholes all over the place. Inexcusable to have a lot like that at such an otherwise lovely course.

Bt T.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best values around. Course is always is pretty good shape. I was a little hesitant when they require you to prepay for tee times, but they are pretty good with giving you a quick refund when you need to cancel, but you do need to cancel ahead of time. Restaurant is better than most other golf course eats. This is one of my go to places and I have never had a bad experience. Hidden gem.

Michael S.

Yelp
Great course. Can hardly wait to get back. Staff and food along with the cocktails. Green fees were reasonable

Mark P.

Yelp
Awesome golf course! Superbly maintained. The grounds were in excellent shape. Beautiful scenery. The only downside was that on the Saturday I went, the course was backed up and our tee time pushed back 30 minutes. We started at 1:45 and finished in the dark at 6:30. Groups ahead of us were slow, and there was no Marshall on the course to keep things moving. The price was $32.00 on Saturday, plus $16.00 for the cart. A very good price considering how challenging the course was! If they could just keep the pace going. It was hard to see in the dark for the last 2 holes.

Debbie K.

Yelp
Great course, in a beautiful setting, but the past 3 times we came here, our tee time was delayed at least 30-mins waiting for a cart. Can't they just invest in the appropriate # of carts to service their customers properly? This isn't a new issue... it keeps happening! And worse yet - the pro shop attendant chooses not to let you know how delayed they are running...so you just keep waiting. Otherwise we would have asked for a refund and left. WARNING... do not come her planning on finishing a round in under 5-6 hours!

DeeAnn M.

Yelp
Beautiful course, great condition! The views are stunning! Can't wait to play again!!

Steve C.

Yelp
You've been warned, if you like 6 + hour rounds, this is your place. Feel bad that this is in Ojai, such a wonderful town, with such nice people, this business is such a black eye. Played or try to play in July. Course is OK (didn't get to see all of it), price is OK, you get less than what you pay for. Drove an hour and 20 minutes to get there. Was told by some there could be long rounds 9should have listened), but 13 holes in 5 hours! Everybody was calling in to complain and the course did nothing, no marshall. Got to a hole and there were 4 groups waiting. We left and went into the shop to see what was up. What's up is the old coot could give a sh_t about the golf experience, in fact, they probably don't know what a positive golf experience is. The guy in there said it was a Saturday. What a mis-managed business. So glad this isn't my local course. Left a message for the General Manager, never received a call back, big surprise as you'll see from other reviews. Received a call from some accounting flunky at the course, who is a blatant liar, again, no surprise. All around, horrible experience, wouldn't go back if they paid me and I'm an avid golfer who plays twice a week and never experienced anything like this place. You'd never figure such a place in Ojai, figure again. Don't say you weren't told.

Ben H.

Yelp
The course is beautiful and well maintained. The owner of the course is a different story. Drove an hour to the course for a 5:45 AM tee time. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and excited for our round. My buddy paid for the round and forgot to add a second cart due to not knowing we needed individual carts due to COVID. When I asked the owner to pay for a cart fee as the partner I was playing with just purchased a cart, the owner looked at me and said " Do you even need a cart? I only have 70 carts" I was flabbergasted. Yes, I f***ing need a cart. I am a paying customer and if I want to pay for a cart I should be able to. Especially considering we are the first tee time for the day. I left the pro shop calm and collected and decided that I would now walk the course. The owner seemed more worried about getting his own foursome ready as he had a tee time after ours then providing decent customer service to his customers. After the first hole I decided to put my golf bag in my partners cart as I was not planning on walking. After a few holes, one of the owners foursome partners approached me and said "the owner does not want more than one golf bag on a cart." Are you f***ing kidding me! First you don't let me buy a cart and the you are going to tell me I can't put my golf bag in my partners cart and I have to carry it. To the owner of this course: Please take a class in customize service. You should be providing your customers better service than the service you provide yourself. To anyone that wants to play here: Go for it! It's an awesome course at a good rate. But don't expect to be welcomed when you come here. The owner cares more about his own round of golf than yours.

Evan K.

Yelp
It is one of those too good to tell other people courses. Prices are great for the product you are receiving. I went last year during the pandemic for my birthday. They were definitely swamped with people however the pace was relatively smooth. I think we finished around 4 to 4 1/2 hours. Not lightning quick but I mean, not losing life slow. Overall, I am going back this year for my birthday (mainly because we didn't plan enough on time). Staff was kind and prompt in their service as well.

Jan M.

Yelp
I don't recommend their breakfast not much to choose from the menu & a little pricey for what you get. Their lunch menu look good though.

Stacy S.

Yelp
I golfed here last Saturday and it is a beautiful setting for a golf course! Came over from LA to avoid crowds. Unfortunately, it was incredibly slow. Our tee time was delayed by 30 minutes and we waited on every shot once we started. It was so slow that even with a tee time at 12:30 we were unable to finish 18 holes before dark. We only finished 14. The fairways were very nice and I loved the unique names of the tee markers. The greens were not my favorite as they seemed a bit like miniature golf challenges. It was a beautiful drive and the peaceful setting was welcomed. Just wish they gave a bit more time between tee times.

John D.

Yelp
I play at Soule Park once every other month or so. Always a great experience. The course is fantastic and the employees are great. The food at the new restaurant is excellent. Keep up the good work!

Socal 1.

Yelp
Great course in a great town. Much better bang for the buck compared to Ojai Valley In

Josh S.

Yelp
Very fun track to play. Well maintained and very pleasing to the eyes. A buddy has been bugging us to make the journey out to Ojai to play this course. And he is on to something. Definitely go play this course. Great prices and great day of golf. The course is in great shape and greens can be ur friend or ur worst enemy lol. I really like this course. I will be back.

Brian D.

Yelp
One of my constituents from my golf club told me about this course & what a beautiful layout of that had. Just so happened that I was able to go up there in March. When we arrived at the golf course the parking lot was completely packed With people at the driving range and on the course. The drawback on this day was I came on a very windy day which made for having to use 1 to 3 club difference. I was partnering up with two other guys along with my girl for our 4some. right away I knew it might be a challenge right after the first hole. One thing I noticed about the course in the first 6 holes ate you have to know and go up and look at the greens. Most of the greens are inverted so if you land on them they tend to shoot down rather than slow down or break to the left and right. There are a lot of false fronts so you need to go up and take a look at the green as what you think is the green is really short cut grass around the green that extends for 20-30 yards. The pro shop and crew were very nice. Great set up for having lunch out on the patio too. What stood out the most of the course were the breath taking views of the mountain scenery around. Hole number 10 is a signature par 3 teeing off from the top off the hill with the pond at the bottom. All in all a beautiful course just make sure to go with a local you can trust to guide you through and to make suggestions.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Our day at the golf course was really two very different experiences. The golf course was excellent A very good design and the course was in generally good shape. The pro shop staff were very nice and helpful. An excellent day on the golf course. I can't say that about the course restaurant Zadie's Bar and Grill. We went there during the round between nines and after the round for food/beer. The staff was rude, the service was very slow and the prices were not competitive. The bar waitress on the day we played was especially nasty. I suggest you do yourself a favor and play golf at Soule Park but eat somewhere else. I'm sure it will be a better experience.

David H.

Yelp
Beautiful location and restaurant. The course is well maintained. The reason for only 3 stars is poor management and lack of carts. Plan on teeing off between 30 and 45 minutes late, due to no carts being available. They've put a lot of upgrades into the facility, but maybe should have purchased more carts. Possibly another course Marshall to move things along would help too.

Mike D.

Yelp
This is my favorite course in LA and Ventura County. I almost didn't write this review because this is such a hidden gem and I don't want to ruin it. Beautiful scenery and an awesome layout. The course plays fair and it's great for experienced and inexperienced golfers alike. Take the drive to Ojai to play this beauty but don't forget to thank me afterwards. Enjoy!

Pablo J.

Yelp
Awesome golf course with amazing scenery. I just played here the other day for the 2nd time and it was even better than a few months ago. The greens fees are very reasonable and it definitely feels you are getting your money's worth. I chose to walk both times rather than a cart, and it's really a great walking course. The pace of play is decent, just under 4.5 hours - and that was walking with all groups around seeming to be full foursomes. The fairways were in good shape, and looks like they've grown some of the rough out quite a bit so it'll grab your club sometimes - makes things a little challenging so I like that. Very forgiving course, with many of the fairway bunkers not really coming into play. Most of the greens are fairly large too with different levels and tiers. Really a fun course and definitely recommend playing there.

Amber M.

Yelp
This is a great golf course, great value and it's located in the Ojai Valley, which almost always has perfect golf weather. The course is beautiful and open, but challenging. The course is well-maintained and very enjoyable. We usually get a cart and I love the GPS feature, so I can track my drive better. They have a nice golf house with a full bar and the food is pretty good. Service is always very friendly and attentive. The golf store has everything you may have forgotten. I always look forward to a day of golf here.

William L.

Yelp
Gorgeous southern exposure and overall geographic location. Soule Park is in a class of it's own with affordability and superb architecture recently renovated by Gil Hanse. The turf conditions are sound and the management is energetic! Great cocktails and fare at the 19th hole with friendly and generous bartenders. I enthusiastically recommend!

Dom P.

Yelp
loved this course, even for a beginner like me it was manageable and the views were great. One household per golf cart felt safe during these times.

Stan W.

Yelp
I made plans to golf the very prestigious Ojai Vally Inn. I happened to arrive a little early before checking into my hotel so my plans for the afternoon were wide open. Fortunately for me the weather was fantastic and I had my clubs in the trunk so I took myself over to Soule Park to see if I could squeeze in a quick 9. Pulling up to the parking lot I could see great views of the valley and a wide open course. I went to the club house and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. They gave me confidence that I'd enjoy the course and I would likely be able to complete an entire 18 rather quickly since there weren't many people on the course. So I hopped into my cart and tee'd off on the 1st hole. WIthin less than an hour and a half I was already completing my first 9. I was even taking my time! I ended my round in under 2 hours and 45 minutes. Couldn't believe it. What I really like about this course is the wide open layout. The holes are unique and can be challenging if you're not driving the ball well. The rough doesn't penalize you too much but you'll need to stay away from the many trees as the course is long. The course was in great shape considering how dry California has been over the recent months/years. I'm so glad I randomly stopped by Soule Park for a round. For the price this place might be the best value in Ventura county.

Craig S.

Yelp
Wow absolutely FANTASTIC course! Huge forgiving fairways, impeccable greens, the staff in the clubhouse are super friendly especially Bernadette and Julianne. The mountain burger is quite possibly the best burger I've had! The brussel sprouts are exceptional too

Josiah S.

Yelp
Beautiful course! Well maintained bunkers and greens. Mountain backdrops leave you wanting more than 18 holes to play! Hot dog was great at the back nine, will be returning soon! Though I do wish they didn't have mats at he range, I need to tee up after a hiatus! Can't wait to play here again!

Donna F.

Yelp
The course is beautiful but the management seems to move your tee time to suit them. I book a specific tee time as I work from home and can get there by a certain time. The management has moved up my tee time twice without even contacting me. I found out by accident. I called and they moved in back to my original time and then four hour later moved it up again without contacting me. It is one thing if people show up early but at this course most show up a few minutes prior to their tee time. By doing this you miss the new tee time assigned to you by management without your knowledge and then they have to fit you in or you have to go and find the people they booked you with and you miss out on the first few holes. So wrong.

Paul Z.

Yelp
The new owners have really turned this golf course around !! It is my favorite golf course in the area... stunning views.... BUT the OLD management ruined this place . The NEW manager actually greets you with kind words as you check in ... they actually appreciate you playing there ....they want you to return. The. NEW management actually put the right sand in most of the traps. The greens were the best I've seen them in 9 years. ! The fairways actually have grass on them... no more hard pan fairways. It looks like they are making the greens and " links" area bigger. ... I actually work at another extremely popular course that prides itself on condition and customer appreciation... well Soule Park is right up there now . This is the place to play .. played sat... pace of play under 4.5 hours ... could use a marshal cause too many people driving too close to greens. Played again although I am employed by another course with a benefit of free golf

Jennifer V.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Course is in great shape and challenging for all skill levels. The people could not be more friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend playing here when in Ojai. Loved it!

Stephanie J.

Yelp
i be there Saturday morning whit my friend, the place is beautiful, the food is great but the bathrooms are disgusting, no toilet paper and when we arrived we see a homeless lady looking in the trash and later the same lady is the one serving us the food.

Kenneth R.

Yelp
Great course, but they need a sign outside the pro shop: "ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE." 5 hours, 20 more minutes to play 18 holes.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Played Soule Park today and though the course is In great shape! They try and Jack you for you cash on their website when you book. The they don't give you an option for Jrs which I had and make you pay up front for adults then tell you they will credit you when you get there. As soon as I was being charged I stated I had 2 adults and 1 Jr and needed to be credited back for a Jr fee I had paid for on the website and the kid up front acted stupid as if he never heard me. After confirming and completing my tee reservation I walked back in and asked why I was not credited for the Jr fee and the kid responded with " oh do you have a Jr with you?" My daughter was just standing there at the counter mins before with me. I finally got credited back however the small town ignorance doesn't work!!! Freakin hillbilly tactics!

Eva C.

Yelp
This is a beautiful and very well maintained golf course. The course has ample room to spray which allows you to recover from a bad shot. It can be challenging for a weekend hacker like myself. The greens were quick and at times small making it rather difficult for someone who doesn't have a strong chipping game like me. Even though it is summer and hot, there is a nice cool breeze throughout the course. The price was super affordable and can't wait to go back!

Marcie P.

Yelp
Great golf - amazing views, very fast greens - challenging course (for me). I wish they had better signage as to where the "next" hole was! Now for the BUT - don't have them prepare a banquet for you! Go somewhere else. The "vegetable lasagne" was penne pasta with some vegies in a white sauce; the BBQ ribs were so tough I couldn't get any meat off of them; the chicken was tough (was it cooked several days before, refrigerated, and warmed up in an oven?), it too was not able to eaten; the baked beans were, well, they are just baked beans out of the can - what can be said about that. Some people put the baked bean sauce over the chicken in order to swallow it. The Ceasar salad was good. The servers were very nice and tried their best, but they had to serve what the chef cooked.

Peter C.

Yelp
I love Soule Park Golf Course. In the late afternoons on the back 9 there's not a better place to be and not a better view on any golf course in the county. Three years (or so) ago there was no sand in the traps, the lake didn't have any water and it was sorely neglected. In the last three years (or so) they have transformed the place into what it is now, my favorite golf course.

Garry E.

Yelp
This is a superb public golf course. They have really made a lot great changes to the golf course that have improved my overall rating of the course. This is a golf course that you can put yourself into trouble by not playing below the hole.

Kathy S.

Yelp
Wow! Our new favorite place to play in Ventura County. Course is in great shape with awesome views in every direction. We liked the casual, friendly atmosphere and good tap beer selection. New golf carts were zippy. Not crowded either- another bonus.

Ruben S.

Yelp
Came here to play for a golf tournament a couple of weeks ago in the prestigious winter classic invitational. At first glance when driving by one of the holes on the highway the place didn't look like much, kind of looked like all dried up and worn down, kind of like something you would find in Yucaipa California. The hole you see on the highway is an illusion because once you actually start playing the course is actually pretty nice. The course itself is not too difficult so it makes it pretty fun for someone who sucks like myself. I am by no means saying it is easy, but in comparison to other courses I have played this course allowed me to be a little more competitive because there are a lot of holes that are wide open and straight so if you shank one you might still have a decent shot to the hole, or at least a decent shot to find your ball. The tournament turned out nice and the staff and Marshall's were all very kind an friendly. I really enjoyed playing this course and so did the other 17 golfers who I played with. I would definitely play this course again.

jon s.

Yelp
Amazing golf getaway destination! Your 90 minute drive from the lax area is absolutely worth it! Built in 1960's, well designed course, fair lush fairways, sloped/ multi braking challenging, long arc running soft putting skills required!!!!! Lots of wild life too, deer, etc. I just played this course 9-6-2015. Labor Day Weekend, Sunday 8:00 am tee, got off 18 by 12:15, shot 91, 15 handicap. Really impressed so much by the entire experience. At the cost of an average boring LA city course, and the 6 hour round thar goes with it. Really spectacular challenging beautiful course.

Matt P.

Yelp
Played here yesterday, the course was nice but when I finished the round I saw that an errant ball from the driving range hit the windshield of my car, which I later confirmed with dashcam footage. The parking lot is situated along the edge of the driving range, and the netting for the range is far too short to prevent balls from hitting cars in the parking lot. There are signs warning you about this and your liability when you enter, so my guess is that this is a frequent occurrence. Take the warning seriously and don't park in the lot! The course should install proper netting around the parking lot instead of passing along unnecessary risk to their paying customers.

David M.

Yelp
Good local course, well maintained, albeit the bunkers are still a struggle in consistency, but the new ownership does well in trying to promote an ever improving course. The eatery aspect of the course still struggles above mediocrity, but most courses by in large, have that problem. All in all, a grand part of the community

Yelp
Played here today, course was in very good shape and the greens were quick and ran true. Very walkable course, but we had not brought our pushcarts. Staff in the Pro shop was very friendly and gOt us out quickly. We have to play this course more often.

Yelp
Half the greens fees of Ojai Vally Inn, beautiful scenery, wide fairways in good shape. Short grass on the large approach aprons makes for a long roll out to Scary fast greens. Be careful. Highly recommend
