We went for our 24th anniversary and it was everything we hoped. The service was great, the food even greater. We got a couple glasses of complimentary champagne and some caviar mixture which was lovely. The gnocchi appetizer was amazing! Would definitely go again

We have visited this restaurant three times over the past 18 years, and each experience has been incredible. This most recent visit was particularly outstanding! The menu creative, fresh and exciting!! The wine pairings were phenomenal and explained in-depth. Chef John Leonardi and his outstanding team personally presented many of the courses, adding a special touch to the evening. Our server, Shandie, was a highlight of the meal. Her professionalism, extensive knowledge, beautiful presentation, and delightful demeanor made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We had so much fun with her! We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, its incredible food, and its exceptional staff. Highly recommend it, and we will definitely be back the next time we're in CB!!

Google
The best French food i’ve ever eaten. Beyond amazing, every item that was served so delicious and beautiful.

Google
Truly amazing culinary experience. We went for our anniversary and it was worth every penny. The gnocchi with morel sauce was fabulous, and the filet mignon with truffle sauce was superb and perfectly cooked.

Google
The service was fantastic. They served a $70/bottle champagne when they found out it was our anniversary. Lobster bisque some of the best we have ever had. The vegetarian options were also excellent.

Wish I could give more stars! Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day, but our day took a sudden chaotic turn an hour before our rez. In all the chaos I was so grateful with how communicative and accommodating the staff was, and our mess of a day was completely flipped around the second we stepped inside. We were treated with such sincere kindness, the entire staff made us feel like we belonged. The food was incredible and the portions filling (I HATE going to a fancy restaurant and leaving hungry) and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely dining experience in CB.

Google
This was one of the most wonderful dining experiences I have had in my LIFE! The waitstaff was extremely accommodating- allowing us to split our delicious meals, and advising us on pairing the wines. Joels? and the other staff were joyful and attentive but their menu recommendations were spot on! The duck was amazing and dessert scrumptious! We enjoyed this restaurant so much - we will return to Crested Butte - just to go there AGAIN!

Google
My husband and I had the best time here for our one year wedding anniversary on our CB trip. Sharnie and Bob were INCREDIBLE. They both are so impressively knowledgeable and talented with their service, while also being SO kind & fun. We had the best time, and left feeling like family. All the best to Sharnie and Bob 🫶♥️ and major kudos to the whole Soupçon team!! Thank you for such a special experience. The food was incredible. The amuse-bouche made me realize for the first time how food can make you feel something to the point of tears. Incredible menu & service, highly recommend.

Yelp
Food was outstanding. Wife and i celebrated 41st anniversary. She had the Halibut and I had the Lamb Shank . Paired with good sauces and veggies. Soufflé for desert need this every day ! So glad you have gone back to being able to order off the menu in lieu of pre-fix . Jess was a very good waitress and everyone was doing a great service. Have always loved Dining here .

Yelp
Be ready for a real treat! This was one of my top best dining experiences ever! The food was superb paired with recommended wines. The service was amazing and all so knowledgeable about the history of the quaint cabin, the wines and food. We had the early seating, but never felt rushed. I HIGHLY recommend this unique experience!!!

Yelp
We LOVE Soupçon. We are treated like family when we dine here. The food? Unimaginably delicious. Service is impeccable. The cozy cabin is warm and inviting especially on a cold night!

Yelp
It's been many years and I am glad to know this place remains in business. Food was phenomenal. Ambiance well stated. Lovely setting and atmosphere.

Yelp
Absolutely exceptional dining experience!! Book well in advance since this adorable restaurant only seats about 25 people. Definitely consider the wine pairings. Yoel's description of each wine and the vineyards was so incredible and made the evening even better. Plan for about 3 hours and don't expect to leave hungry. An absolute MUST for foodies visiting Crested Butte!! 5 stars not nearly enough.

Yelp
This is one of the fanciest meals I've ever had. They treat you like a Michelin star restaurant even though it doesn't have the rating. 4-5 course prefixe menu that everyone else in the restaurant is having with optional $$$$ wine pairing. Some people left early, so it seems you have the ability to skip dessert if desired. Because it was my birthday, we went all out and did the wine pairing plus a couple extra cocktails. It was a 4-hour experience of decadence. There are only 10-ish tables in the restaurant, so reservations are a must. For my birthday the staff kindly treated me to champagne and a birthday candle with my dessert. Literally the best short rib of my life. My boyfriend ordered it and gave it to me since I liked it more than my plate. Nothing served was bad, it was just that every course was a like a crazy championship contest of amazing vs amazing. The "loser" was still an amazing piece. The only watch out is the price. It was nearly $800 for both our meals, wine pairings, and extra few cocktails. For a very special occasion, very worth it!

Robert O.

Yelp
Perfect place if you kiss their ass and pay the 3X price! Do not charge so much because you have a small place.
google avatar

Lorna R.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place. Bring your fat wallet, but it's worth the experience. Wine perfectly paired with appetizer and meals. Desert was spectacular. Ambiance quaint and clean. Wagu appetizer trio was mouthwatering! Parking was a challenge. Go for the experience of a lifetime.

Geoff P.

Yelp
Food was okay. Waitress abandoned us when we were ready for our check had to literally walk into the kitchen to try and pay. Really made the experience terrible.

Yelp
This is a lovely restaurant tucked into a road off of Elk. The house was just adorable. The restaurant has two seatings. We were the first to arrive and then all of a sudden people started coming in one after one. Maybe it was where we were sitting but it felt chaotic. The sommelier Daniel was fantastic and he helped us choose a great wine. We were just unlucky to have caught him on a night that one of their servers was out so he had to fill in waiting tables. We definitely understand it was through no fault of their own, but we could definitely feel that stress in our end. We were sat right next to the kitchen, side by side on a wooden booth. Besides really disliking sitting like that, the bench had no cushions and was very uncomfortable. The food was absolutely phenomenal and I think the duck confit was the best I've had. I had never had onion bisque before and theirs was just perfect. Their winter vegetable medley and rack of lamb were just right. Dessert fell short for us as the sticky toffee was dry. I would love to go back, sit in a different spot and be there on a night when it didn't seem so frantic. The meal wasn't relaxing but it was superb.

Yelp
We were on a long road trip and this popped up on our search for lunch. I am so happy we're stopped here. They have quite the variety of homemade excellent soups and their homemade bread is excellent. I had a good salad with my potato soup. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Was very disappointed -rude to guests, snotty, and when we were disappointed we couldn't add one more person to our reservation the Chef came out and told us we had ruined their night and get the F out. Lesson... if you want a date night out that is stuffy and quiet with less than accommodating staff , don't complain and just go and have your dinner. Maybe the food is amazing we didn't get the opportunity. After the chef kicked us out we went to sushi down the road and had one of the best meals we had in Crested Butte!
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
We tried to add our 75 year old mother in law to the reservation and we got reprimanded by the staff, so appalled, we were debating our next move when the CHEF came out of the kitchen and bowed up to our table and basically got in our face and then kicked us out - after reading previous google reviews, we learned that this is not the first time the CHEF has done this - wow - you have been warned about this place

Yelp
Wow, my new favorite restaurant in Crested Butte. From start to finish this restaurant rocked. There are two seatings, we chose the early seating. This small, charming, cabin like restaurant makes for a great foodie experience. I started with the preserved strawberry salad, roasted fennel, fabulous wedges of a local cheese, and a fabulous dressing. My husband had the escargot, he said it was the best he has ever had. My main dish was the lamb shank in an amazing reduction served with smashed potatoes and fresh green beans and carrots, huge portion. The other main was the muscovy Duck beautifully plated with a delicious risotto. Having just spent October in France,I am so excited Crested Butte has this awesome French restaurant in town. Oh, yes, the deserts were also over the top delicious, creme brûlée and soufflé with apple compote. The service is top notch, everyone there are so friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list is amazing as well. We had a bottle from Gigondas. The whole night was special, I highly recommend this spot for a special evening. Look forward to our next reservation.

Yelp
Unbelievably Expensive! Get ready to spend $400 per person. The food is really good but NOT Michelin Star level which is the price range they are charging. Everything on the menu is priced at a premium (wine, cocktails, etc) Same wine at another restaurant is priced 25% more here. You can get an equally as good dinner at the Sunflower for a fraction of the cost. I look for quality and value in a restaurant. Soupcon's level of quality doesn't support the price they charge. But if you want to go out to dinner with a couple of friends and drop $1400 then to each their own. Not for me.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
What! Nestled in the middle of the frozen oasis that is Crested Butte is some seriously fine dining. Due to COVID enhancements, Chef Chris and team are offering prix fixe menu options. Given I've been primarily plant based for over a year, minus of course what delicious food I put in my mouth when going out, I chose every seafood option where my beau chose all red meat options. We were able to sample the entirety of the menu. The food was thoughtful, masterful, adventurous, and familiar (the duck foi gras is like no foi gras I've ever had -- it was nostalgic and new, and gave me Thanksgiving vibes.) The Somme Dan and his inventive approach to wine pairing is an absolute must -- you find you get an additional meal with the pairing's ability to enhance and change the dish. At the end of the night we stumbled into the snow, a little breathless -- but not from the cold. From re entering the world where we had just walked and breathed among magic. (Go go go!)
google avatar

Yelp
If you are headed to the electric chair anytime soon, make this your last meal. Epic food! You'll be able to over hear drunk neighbor conversations (OMG Karen!) but the food is glorious. Wine pairing was spot on.

Yelp
Back again a year later. Still the best in all categories. Super cuisine. You'd think your were dining in New York or L.A.. Superb service, wonderful menu, Luxurious ambiance. Do not miss your opportunity to dine here.
google avatar

Yelp
Was fortunate enough to go with a couple of friends who had made the reservation months in advance of our trip to CB. Easily the best meal I have had in quite some time. Multi-course meal, as others have mentioned, with several having two options. The caviar, asparagus soup, beef tenderloin and crème brûlée were fantastic, but the rack of lamb was perfection. Our waitress was very good and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. It is $200 pp for the basic menu and an additional $125 pp for the wine pairing. We chose our own cocktails and wine and not the wine pairing. I don't do meals like this often at all, but I would do Soupçon again.

Yelp
Proposed to my girlfriend (now fiance) here and could not be happier with the decision. First, I began coordinating with the restaurant during the off season, and they had detailed notes and thoughts in the reservation by the time it opened for the season. On the actual night, they worked with me to keep the ring secret, kept friends' and families' confidence who wanted to surprise us with drinks, and were exceedingly gracious in their own right. The food itself was spectacular. My dining companions for the event have eaten all around the world and agreed taste, preparation, and presentation were as good as the Michelin starred restaurants at which they had eaten. All the food was great, but some surprise favorites were the potatoes au gratin (served with the lamb) and the creme brulee (which I believe my fiance liked more than the proposal). Our server was great, and the chef and manager went out of their way to talk with us and make it a special occasion. Cannot recommend enough.

Yelp
We were very excited about our dinner with Soupcon. we were expecting a nice quiet romantic wonderful dinner. It's in a great old historic building. We did the 4-course tasting menu with the wine pairings. both were amazing. it was $300/person. the staff was all great. the only downside was a party of 7-8 ladies sitting in the same room who were incredibly loud. no sense that anyone else was in the restaurant. learned a lot about them - what wines they like/didn't, food allergies, their major life milestones, who had had sex on a pool table and so many more exciting details about their lives. it really ruined the evening. if it wasn't for them it would have been a 5 star.
google avatar

Jon M.

Yelp
Good food, very pricey at least for us. Reservation is required for seating and dining. Atmosphere is business casual tables with tablecloth. Menu is fixed price and several courses. Each course has two choices. Portions were decent size and presentation was different but nice. Food was delicious for each course. My spouse and I chose a different item for each course so we could taste each choice. Service was friendly and courteous. Only issue we had was the prices $150 per person plus drinks, tax and gratuity. Our bill for two was over $450.

Yelp
This is our favorite place to eat in Crested Butte. We had a wonderful 4 course meal last night. We started with steak tartar. It was excellent served with quail egg and some sauce. Our soup course was butternut squash soup for my wife and shrimp bisque for me. Both were delicious. My entre was sea bass and it was cooked perfect and it was delicious. My wife had duck and loved it. She has ordered the duck for the past several visits because it is so good, and this was no exception. We finished with coffee and dessert and were stuffed. The wine selection was great and our server, Dan, was helpful in selecting wine to compliment our entree's. This is a great dining experience with excellent food. Make a reservation to ensure you can get a seat

Yelp
Soupcon is EXCELLENT! This is a MUST on your travels to Crested Butte. The restaurant is in a charming old miner's cabin --typical and quaint CB. You feel so welcome by all the staff (and the owner/chef came by to check-in on us). Joel gave amazing wine recommendations and he was so well-versed with the drink and food menus. I ordered a vegetarian entree that the chef put together and my husband had the lamb. All we could say was YUM! The place is small so sometimes you can hear your neighbors but overall we could not get enough of this place. Don't miss this place!
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
Soupcon is overrated. Dan was a great waiter which made it more enjoyable, but the quality of the food did not match the price. All entrees were $47 or $49, appetizers about $17 and desserts were expensive as well. The building belonged to the family that first settled in Crested Butte, so that is neat, but it is a small home- too small for all the tables they had. I do not eat most of the meats on the menu, but my family ate the veal cheek, escargot, and lamb. They did not thoroughly enjoy any of them and the food came out barely warm. My dad did mention it was the most escargot he had ever received. I had the salad and filet mignon. The salad was small, had too little dressing and left me feeling unsatisfied. The filet mignon was lightly seasoned and was served luke warm. I enjoyed the gratin potatoes and the au juice from the steak; I wish there had been more. For dessert we ordered the truffles and the egg nog souffle. The truffles were wonderful, but there were only three small pieces and half a scoop of ice cream. The egg nog souffle, however, was delightful. I loved the warm, fluffy inside and combined it with the chocolate sauce. The souffle was my favorite part of the meal. If you really love fancier French restaurants and don't mind if your food is served luke warm, Soupcon will satisfy you.

Yelp
Soupçon is our yearly, sometimes twice yearly, tradition when we go to CB. The food and the atmosphere are amazing. I called 3 months in advance to make a reservation for 6 in January. We ended up with an extra person, so I called 3 days before to add him. They called back to say they couldn't seat a 7th but I never got the message because of AT&T issues that week with the Nashville bombing. When we arrive with 7, the owner is immediately confrontational. We ask if we can get it for takeout so we can bring it back to the house. No. We don't do takeout. Ok. Sorry about the miscommunication. w will eat somewhere else. He followed us outside to tell us that he would charge everyone full 5 course price if we left. So two in our group ate down the street, and we paid for 6. The dinner was uncomfortable. He wouldn't look at us the rest of the night as he described the specials to all the surrounding tables. So sad to have to take this off our list in the future. We have such great memories here.

Yelp
What a special experience!! The food and atmosphere of this restaurant is absolutely wonderful! The servers and chef were helpful and well educated on pairing wine with our meals. Everything was delicious! There were three of us: we ordered the elk tenderloin, onion soup, scallops appetizer, veal shank appetizer and rack of lamb. You can not go wrong with any of these choices. The ingredients were fresh and complemented the protein in the most unique and delightful way. All of the staff was lovely and the chefs passion for cooking was evident when he spoke with us! An absolutely must try when in CB!!
google avatar

Brianne J.

Yelp
Such a magnificent experience we will never forget! The food is 15/10 and the wine pairings, experience, and staff a 15/10 as well! Be sure to get the scallops and creme brûlée!! Thank you Chef John and sommelier Daniel - we will be back!!
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect little restaurant--impeccable service, delicious meals and fresh options. The drink menu is amazing as well. Honestly, it was a perfect night thanks to everyone here!

Andrew D.

Yelp
Soupçon is truly better-than-ever under Chef John Leonardi. Everything about the experience was flawless. Be prepared to enjoy yourself for 3+ hours.

Melissa H.

Yelp
A night to remember! My husband and I finally were able to try Soupcon and it did not disappoint. We did opt for the wine pairing and it was a huge part of how magical the night was. Our server was phenomenal and the Chef/Proprietor came out several times to check on us. The restaurant is cozy and classy without feeling pretentious. We love most all of the CB restaurants, but this was something truly special and we will be back!!!!

Yelp
We were so excited to try this restaurant since I saw so many great reviews about this place . The service was very good but The food actually was not all that and way over-priced. The only decent plate was foie gras , my elk tenderloin and my husband's beef bourguignon were so so . Just Pan-seared with sauce on top. My elk tenderloin was tasteless because it wasn't marinaded well . Overall Its not too terrible but not excellent either. After feeling so disappointed about the food, We ordered dessert hoping it would make up for it , but the grand marnier soufflé was too sweet like you were eating raw sugar. I didn't taste grand marnier by the way... Our meal was over $200 and it was sure NOT the best .

Yelp
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Absolutely despicable. If I could leave them zero stars, I would. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know I'm not much given to writing negative reviews. I'd much rather reward places that do a good job with positive reviews. Every once in a while, however, there's a place that merits warning other people away. I get better service at a gas station cafe than Soupcon has to offer. My wife, who is active military, made a reservation with them a month and a half in advance. We were planning to be in the area a little after Father's Day, so she was going to take me and her father out. We live in Texas, and drove nearly a thousand miles to be there. She had recorded the time and date they gave her in her calendar, and we were there 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled time. They had not called to confirm, which I suppose should have been our first warning that something was wrong. Little did we know that whoever had taken the reservation had given us wrong information and recorded it wrong, because when we got there, the waitress was extremely rude and told us that we must be mistaken that we had a reservation because dinner had already started. She made no attempt to check the reservation book and see what had happened, or make any attempt to resolve the issue. It was not crowded, and we could have easily come back at a later date if they had given us that option. Instead, she went to the back while telling us that we were wrong and had no reservation and got the cook. The cook then came out, and basically threw us out. Again, no attempt to check a reservation book, no attempt to resolve the situation, just get out of the establishment. I have never before encountered a business that behaved so poorly. They called up a week later wanting to know if we were coming in for our reservation. They had recorded a reservation for a date that we were not even in the area (which is a highly unlikely mistake for us to make). When apprised of the situation, they again made no attempt to resolve the issue. This could have easily been resolved by checking the books, seeing that we did indeed have a reservation for a different date, and offering to seat us at the later seating, or at a later date. They had open tables on other dates; it would not have been difficult to try to come to an accommodation, but they didn't even try, instead opting to just throw prospective customers out of the restaurant, all the while blaming them for the mistake. No matter how good the food might be, it will certainly be soured by such poor service. Not only will we never do business with them again, they have earned a black mark with our military community. Frankly, anyone who values decency or customer service should avoid this place. They were comprehensively bad at every opportunity, and I cannot fathom how they can stay in business. We had a fabulous meal of rack of elk and buffalo at The Wooden Nickel instead, and anyone looking for a good meal in Crested Butte should strongly consider the Wooden Nickel and avoid Soupcon. Truly disgraceful. I originally left this review on Google. That probably could have been the end of it. They took months to respond, and when they did, I think it's even more telling that the response fails to take responsibility, and accused us of showing up late when the review clearly states we showed up ahead of the scheduled time we had arranged and addresses that detail. Note that they called back days later (also in the review) to ask us if we were coming to our reservation. They could easily have discovered that there was a mistake somewhere if they had bothered to check their books as we specifically requested that they do, and there would have been many different ways to resolve the issue, such as offering us a seating at a later time or date. They don't respond to this feedback for months, and then still do not bother to read the review, consider the problem, or take any responsibility. My advice: avoid at all costs.

Yelp
An amazing experience that make all your papillas awake and excited. It is at the level of a Michelin Star restaurant! The 5 meals degustation menu is just a discovery or rediscovery of savory. Some french restaurants in France should take Soupçon as a reference. Italian wines are also a revelation. And moreover the team is just incredibly nice and ready to make this journey a pleasure. Yes it is really a journey! Thanks Rick John and the team. You guys are awsome.
google avatar

Terri R.

Yelp
A quaint atmosphere in a great town. Off the beaten path, yet highly recommended. A little pricey but the experience was amazing and enjoyed by all. The menu consist of 2 choices for all 5 courses. The exquisite detail to each dish was memorable in presentation and taste. The amount of wait time between each course was perfect for conversation and to reflect on each dish. Each bite, entertained your taste buds with a new flavor. Would I go back again? I would BUT Save my pennies and go again, and splurge on the wine pairing with each course... It's a bit pricey and you only have to do it once. The menu changes every week, which is amazing, but I would not be able to afford that. So to say that I've been there, enjoyed it immensely, being with family, it was thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant in CB! We go once a year on our summer vacation and the food and service is always superb!

Lisa C.

Yelp
What a fantastic culinary experience! From the intimate atmosphere, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly service to the exquisitely executed and unique dishes -wow! This is a must during your CB stay!! Chef David Wooding is the most talented chef in CB. We've followed him from different restaurants around town. He really is in his element at Soupçon.

Yelp
Very intimate, delicious, solid menu but just over priced by about 25%: which I understand: captive audience, the location, the town, the clientele. One charges what one can get, right? Plan on $130-150 per person. It was delicious and prepared and presented exactly how one would expect...The rack of lamb was great: filet and pheasant were nice as well. Just not remarkable: Not especially creative: I would be thrilled to be able to prepare the entrees myself and serve them to a table of 8: However, just remember it has a price premium, across the board of about 25% + then anything comparable in Denver, Boston or Seattle:

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for this amazing experience! I wish I could give 10 stars! My family and I had the tasting menu. There were 5 corses including dessert. You got to choose between two options for each course and each was amazing they looked beautiful and tasted even better. One of the best meals I've ever had and was full for like three days!

Yelp
Ok the service was great almost to good. Dishes were Luke warm at best. The Elk tenderloin was so so not much flavor The veal chop was closer tasting to a roast. Lamb was decent there again no flavor. My friend had the filet he said it was great. However All of the fats on the meats left a greasy film in ur mouth as if they had been prepared earlier in the day and held in warmers. When have 7 people and u spend $470.00 u expect perfection. Sorry to say this was not the case.

John C.

Yelp
Following a recommendation we tried Soupcon. The food, service, and overall experience were good but for the price it just didn't knock our socks off. The setting was nice in the little house but almost felt too cramped. Plus a large, loud group came in during the same time as us with their dog. Nothing against dogs, I guess that's a Colorado thing but it was a little off putting in such a tight setting. Overall we enjoyed the experience but I left feeling a little bit of buyers remorse. Maybe this restaurant is just intended for a different clientele that can spend $250 for a meal without a second thought. When I spend that much I want it to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had and unfortunately Soupcon was not.

Mike G.

Yelp
The best staff, and always the best experience. Lamb Chops were out of this world! Don't miss out on the wine pairing!

Walter G.

Yelp
I will start by prefacing that the quality of the food and the waiter that we had were both great. However, the general manager that was working the night of our dinner (12/29/2019) was absolutely horrendous. We went to celebrate my son's 6th birthday. We understood that this was an intimate setting in a confined space. We did our best to entertain our kids so that they did not bother anyone or make unnecessary noise. About 45 minutes into our dinner, my 3 year old daughter started complaining a bit and we immediately started to calm her down. Within seconds, the general manager lunged at us twice, warning that people were complaining about the noise (false, no one said anything), and then told my wife to take my daughter OUTSIDE in freezing temperature. My wife did so, and my daughter did calm down from her momentary lapse. The general manager's behavior was completely out line and utterly despicable. Our child was treated no better than an animal that had to be kicked outside. Only out of respect for the chef and our waiter did we struggle through the rest of our dinner (having completely lost our appetite) and paid nearly $500 for the meal (with full tip). If the restaurant wanted to maintain an adult-only policy, they should state so and not take reservations with kids (we would have understood and honored that). This is NOT the Crested Butte that I know and love. This is not the treatment that we've experienced from this town and it's amazing people.

Yelp
Couldn't have asked for a better restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Quality ambiance, service, food, and drink. Ben and Joel provided great service.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible experience. Small, beautiful cottage turned into restaurant with fine dining experience. Warm, inviting staff and chef. Loved everything!

Yelp
Best restaurant in Crested Butte. Not my words but words from locals who have tried enough local places to know this is the best. All I know is that I throughly enjoyed my meal. We had the escargot, short rib, lamb rack, and a banana tarte tatin for dessert. Later in the meal, we were told the escargot and lamb rack are always on the menu, so I think our ordering game was top notch. Friendly service, great food, we would definitley come back next time we come to Crested Butte. It is expensive but am willing to pay for it.

Yelp
Hands down the best "service" ever received. 5 stars for the waiter. The rest was pretty average, except for the prices. Mussells were on the average side and not very inspired. Lamb was okay, the sauces were not that great considering being on a French menu. The place is really cute (and small) you have to enter through the alley off of the street which is quaint.

Yelp
Tiny Restaurant. Cozy. Reservations Required. Call Ahead to Confirm Menu Options (if you are looking for something specific like we were). Soupcon has a reputation around town and on the web. Naturally, we had to plan an outing to this establishment at least once during our honeymoon vacation. Many locals encouraged us to make a trip to this restaurant while visiting Crested Butte, Colorado. Upon initial arrival to the restaurant, our first impression was that the place was very cozy and cute. There was a little light on in a dark alleyway and a decorated entrance. I've heard that France is filled with small, hole-in-the-wall places and that even the hotels and elevators can appear cramped compared to what can be found in the U.S.A. - I suppose this was a great portrayal of the sort of experience one may find when visiting the country itself. The restaurant is located in a small house with just space enough for about 10-15 tables. Half of the house was devoted to the kitchen and bathroom areas and the other half for customer dining areas. Going in, I had high expectations for this place considering it was supposed to be number one in CB. The cuisine is hearty and delicious (perfect for the cold weather climate!). The bread was fresh and warm when served to the table - butter was ice cold and I preferred it to come to temperature before eating. We were not disappointed in our food choices: braised lamb and veggies and whole quail stuffed with foie gras and sweet potatoes. Everything was perfectly balanced (flavorful sauces/gravies to enhance the meat and the vegetables/starches were subtle as they complemented the overall entree). Definitely a 5-star meal. We did however, check the menu online prior to arriving and expected to be able to order the Elk Tenderloin and to our dismay could not (as it was no longer being offered). Since we are traveling from Miami (and do not typically have access to a lot of the game meats found in other regions of the U.S.A.), it was quite the treat to be able to order Elk, Boar, and Venison throughout our trip. We hoped to have experienced the Elk Tenderloin (basically the filet mignon of game meat) at the highest ranked restaurant in Crested Butte. Unfortunately, we will have to save this for another visit. The rating I gave the restaurant lost 1-star due to the poor attitude we encountered from the waitstaff (particularly our main server). The server was not cordial and did not take an interest in offering any recommendations or small-talk. This negatively affected our time at Soupçon as I do believe service is a critical component to a 5-star dining experience.
