I just happened to stop by this town accidentally and it was so worth it! A very cute cafe and lovely experience. Very friendly staff they weren’t too upset I was coming in just as they were closing. Although a bit spenny it’s so worth it. Gulped my smoothie down so fast I wish I got two.

Google
Quite pleasant cafe with tasty and healthy options. I had the coffee with coconut oil and MCT oil and a chicken panini. Small seating area was plenty for my friends and I. They had a clean restroom and water for all guests. Recommend!

Matcha brain fuel tasted nothing like Matcha. Their to-go cups are extremely poor quality, and for every sip I took, one sip landed on my shorts.

Google
Very sweet little spot with amazing baked items and menu items. Delicious iced chai & coffee cake. The frittata was great but didn’t have sun dried tomatoes the day we were there. Welcoming of dogs as well with their two patios. My only issue would be that it’s a bit on the pricey side

I’m so glad to have this option of a clean, delicious and healthy restaurant. The sweets are gluten free and delicious. Their avocado toast is my favorite.

Google
Great local spot. Super cute area right in the center of Hermosa Beach. With plenty of restaurants to choose from in the area, we were happy to have stumbled upon The Source. We were warmly welcomed and greeted with a display of all their homemade desserts and pastries. Their colorful smoothies, juices, elixirs, and shots were so inviting and too hard to turn down. We tried the Beets drink and the Blue Majik smoothie. They were delicious. To eat we had paninis and avocado toast. Everything locally sourced and good for you. We look forward to trying out more dishes upon our next stop. Great experience, just know it is on the pricey end!

Google
Good quality and healthy ingredients. If this is what you're looking for, they have lots of options. Fast friendly service. It was fairly busy. Social distancing inside was at a minimum, but that's just because people were not being careful. There are a few outside tables. There is a grab and go cooler near the door with many options as well. Parking is all metered and the city loves the tickets so be careful.

We’ve been coming to HB for years and The Source is one of the highlights we look forward to when we stay; it feels like home by now. I love health-conscious eateries with high quality ingredients and The Source is exactly that. Quality and vibe has not degraded one bit over the years and I look forward to many more meals here.

Avocado Toast was very Yummy, and Green Juice I got was bussin. :) I would come here again

Yelp
We ended up at Source Cafe by default. It was the 7am hour and we were looking for a breakfast place that had vegan options. Love the small neighborhood cafe vibe with good music. The Avocado Toast comes with cashew cream, avocado, radish, parsley, and sumac on what looks like wheat bread. Great mix of flavors and textures. Pretty to look at! Good portion size too since it comes with 4 pieces (2 large bread slices cut in half). https://bit.ly/3KzPeNx Tofu Walnut Tacos are TASTY! Not sure what magic is performed on this concoction but the filling is made of tofu, butternut squash, kale, walnut, tomato, onion, curry, and cilantro with a side of hot sauce. This comes on cassava tortillas which have a more pliable and chewy texture. https://bit.ly/3RmvDUZ Sharing these two dishes with my mom, this was a pretty filling meal! We ate around 7:30am and I wasn't hungry for my next meal until about 2pm. Service was friendly. I was bummed they didn't have the Beet Root Latte at the time but hopefully I can check that out on my next visit.

Yelp
I have recently started making and ordering tumeric lattes when I see it on a menu. I ordered a tumeric latte here and it had a bad aftertaste. I think it's the oil they add to it. It was a disappointment and $10 is too much for their lattes. I had a small lemon basil cookie and it was $5. Very expensive for what you get. It offset the bitterness of the latte so that helped a bit.

Yelp
Tasty but pricey! A cute cafe in the downtown hermosa beach area. I lucked out and found metered street parking on Pier St. I love how committed this place is to fueling the body with fresh, nutrient dense foods. And the gluten free selection is truly amazing! I got the curry egg salad on paleo toast and it was delicious! Could use a bit of hot sauce but other than that, I really enjoyed the flavors and textures. It's pricey and not very filling but yummy nonetheless. I also got a latte with house made oat milk. It's pretty flavorless but the oat milk is creamy and smooth. Too expensive for a not great coffee so I'd skip this next time and get coffee at another shop near by. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating - both really great options as the cafe does a great job of the beachy cute atmosphere. The employees are nice and the food comes out quickly.

Yelp
I walked in about 15 minutes before close and they were so nice and hospitable and let me finish eating as they were closing. They have GF, vegan bread and the veggie panini was amazing. Their recovery smoothie was also fantastic. I wish I lived nearby - I would go there all the time!

Yelp
I love their panini so much I get this almost every week! The source has great fresh, nutritious food, probably the best spot in Hermosa for healthy food Most food are organic and locally produced. My favorite smoothie is the Cacaco Almond Buttercup, the first time I got it was because it was said to help with one's energy and it does just that! Service is great, the staff are so nice and friendly. The place itself is cozy, I love sitting outside when it's a nice sunny day! I usually stay inside if I wanna get some work done and studying done :) but there's no WiFi. Overall one of my favorite spots and really recommend it to yall

Yelp
The food was very healthy and tasteful. The service was decent and the ambiance was pleasant. I enjoyed the salmon bowl with no rice. It was very refreshing. I paired my meal with a beet juice and it was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Not the best. Pretty over priced for what you get. Iced coffees tasted like there was some type of savory seasoning in it.

Yelp
Another item on the menu I just tried was their Chicken Caesar wrap... I've got to say that it's my newest favorite item! It was really delicious and filling. The flavors were mouth watering, while still feeling like i was eating healthy.

Yelp
First time here. The Source has many tasty menu options. I recommend the herbal Iced tea and the veggie panini if you are going to lunch. We also had the chicken panini but it was smaller than the veggie and was not as filling. Service is very friendly from all the staff. It was a very relaxing experience, and the outside seating was ample and comfortable. Very pet-friendly! We plan to comeback for breakfast and give that a try.

Yelp
One of my favorite brunch spots in Hermosa! Location is unbeatable, service is friendly, and food is healthy and delicious! My only complaint is that the lox bagel is no longer on the menu. Please bring it back!!
google avatar

Yelp
Best fresh food cafe in town. I was very impressed with the fresh and healthful ingredients. I am a big fan of the juices and baked items as well. Everything is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
The chocolate chip banana muffin is very good but a little on the small side. The latte? Not so much. It needs more milk. I also didn't see any sugar or napkin in the bag. I wanted to try this spot and maybe shouldn't have tried it for the first time using UberEats. The 3 star rating is for what I received for the price. You win some, and lose some. This was a "lose some" for me.

Yelp
Chef Amber (aka Chef Amber) Caudle's Cafe is my go-to spot when searching for a local gluten free bakery to bring back some sweets for my wife. Their breakfast and lunches are pretty phenomenal as well, I just tend to visit for coffee and bakery. The staff is always attentive and happy to serve the clientele.
google avatar

Lovina C.

Yelp
Veggie panini - standard panini with zucchini and roasted red pepper as the main veggies + pesto. It was fine.
google avatar

Marilyn E.

Yelp
The desserts were fireeeeeee that banana chocolate chip was ughhh so good i might order a bunch tomorrow lol and the poppyseed was good too. The avocado toast came with four halves which is two more and man even three sometimes more than a usual avocado toast so it made the bang for the price a little better lol the smoothies are good i like the blue one and yeah i love the desserts haha

Claudia C.

Yelp
Food is always fresh and tasty. Fills you up without leaving you feeling sluggish or nasty. Service is always amazing and quick. Always nice to come and see Adriana and Claudia. They are always so friendly and I love chatting with them. Definitely worth trying this cafe!

Marta L.

Yelp
The prices have gone mad. You can't get a drink with a small bite to eat for less than $35. It is unreasonable.

Yelp
Avocado toast = yes! Paleo chicken panini = N-O! Quinoa bowl = definitely : ) Spicy veggie wrap = yep I enjoy coming to this place. For the most part, I do like their food. The only thing I would not recommend is the paleo chicken panini. I tried it for the first time, and it is something I will not repurchase. I think the word paleo got my attention but I just wasn't super thrilled with it. There's definitely an ingredient I don't jive with that's in this panini and it was on the dry side - I just wasn't feeling it. It's a hard no for me! Quinoa bowl is a favorite of mine here; healthy, delicious, and it makes me smile. I also really like the spicy veggie wrap and their avo toast is pretty yum! Love their green juice as well! I down it like water!!!

Yelp
[Review #638] 2021 Yelp 100 Challenge (59/100) OTM Club 06/06/21 - 06/12/21 Cuisine: American cafe/smoothie & juice bar. Price: Expensive, but on par for the area. Restrooms: Yes, not sure where. Parking: Metered parking; 6-hour parking spots east of cafe near PCH (not sure if a permit is required). Atmosphere/Service: Beachy yuppy/hipster & very dog-friendly; efficient but not the most friendly in-person, excellent phone service. COVID-19 Protocol: Masks, hand sanitizer by register, socially distanced patio dining. Some of OTM Club's partnerships are truly a hidden gem... like The Source Cafe with the curated AVOCADO TOAST (avocado, cashew cream, radish, parsley, flax oil, sumac, whole grain bread). I'm happy that OTM Club is finally heading south & there's a restaurant in the South Bay! Though parking in Hermosa Beach generally sucks, I figured if I'm heading out there around linner (3-ish PM), it shouldn't be an issue, right? I managed to scored a metered space just 1/2 block away; I did see some unmetered spaces closer to PCH that have a 6-hour limit, but I'm not sure if there are other restrictions. Since indoor dining is unavailable, the cafe cordoned off several metered spaces by the entrance & converted them into an outdoor dining patio even though they do have some outdoor seating alongside their window adjacent to the entrance. I called in the order & said it's for OTM Club, & also wanted their Walnut Pesto Toast (walnuts, pesto, burrata, citrus honey, baguette) because I love burrata & the citrus honey sounded interesting, but sadly, it's a no-go (& there's nothing comparable), & the server suggested the Yam Toast (nope, not even close). :-*( I got there fairly quickly but there was a small group of 3 taking their time with questions while ordering. :-| I flagged another server heading back to the kitchen, & she was initially friendly to assist me until I informed her that I was picking up my OTM Club curated freebie. She admonished me \(`0´)/ for not informing them that it's for OTM Club because it has the be rung up differently. I'm sorry for causing any issues (actually I'm not), & I did inform the male server on the phone that it's an OTM Club order. In any event, she was quite huffy about it so I just quickly dove around the groupies still trying to order, dumped a tip & left. $12.50 for 3 slices of toast is over-the-top expensive (free as part of OTM Club's membership, more than 1/2 its cost), but since they're located in Hermosa Beach, it's on par with other restaurants. I'm not exactly a fan of avocado, though I do like the occasional guacamole. However, The Source Cafe's avo toast is exceptionally well-done & it is one scrumptious toast! The ingredients all played well together in complementing symmetry for one really delish & perfectly toasted bread. =D The Source Cafe also offers baked goodness with gluten-free baked treats that's also allergy-friendly & guilt-free. And those with glucose issues, they have a Reset Series, consisting of a variety of low glycemic, alkaline, & energizing juices, elixirs, & tonics to help detox & restore your body. The cafe's MO is more meaningful thought for a menu of simple, organic, & non-GMO ingredients, churning out healthy yet tasty foods & drinks. Normally I would dock a star each for price:value & service, but since this was technically free from the OTM Club offer, I'm only docking 1 star for the post-subpar service, the phone order experience was excellent (it's the same guy handling the group ahead of me). I should have waited for him to finish with the them, but I didn't put much in the meter (thinking it was a quick & easy pick-up) so I couldn't spare more than 15-mins. Their food, at least the toast, is most excellent & the menu definitely promotes healthy & creative "eats." Would I return? Hmmm... questionable; it's not a particularly enjoyable experience to be reprimanded even for mere moments. :-| Highly Recommended: Avocado Toast!

Yelp
I participated in a scavenger hunt through Amazing Co. & one of the stops was here and I definitely want to come back to try their coffee, juice/smoothies. Seems like a farm to table type restaurant that specializes in quality. Unfortunately, our salad that was suppose to be ready through the scavenger hunt service was not ready / no info was available for us to pick it up so I can not comment on the food. I do believe there was a mistake on the organizers end and not on the restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly & the location is perfect for beach-goers or locals for pick-up. I would definitely take some friends, a date or my momma back here for a morning coffee date !! Note: parking is free for the holidays in Hermosa & manhattan beach piers / surrounding areas !

Yelp
I had to stop coming here because of the rampant "greedflation"!! How much money is this business making off of YOU. It's $11.00?! For a cashew latte. $6.00 for two hard boiled eggs?! $6.00 people! You could buy 12 eggs for 5 bucks at the grocery store! Insane price gouging and sadly because people pay the prices this place will continue to stay in business. It's so sad how we just have to accept being overcharged because we live in SoCal beach neighborhoods. It's like it's expected for us to pay these exorbitant prices. I come here every now and again as a splurge but couldn't support the prices for what you get.

Yelp
Loved the food and customer service! Everything was fresh, delicious and healthy. We got tofu tacos, lentil bowl, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Tacos were flavorful and the tortillas (made out of cassava) had a great chewy texture. Lentil bowl was also flavorful and delicious. Left the place feeling full but light. Definitely recommend it!
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
Cute healthy breakfast or juice stop in Manhattan beach. Price: high Food: 10/10 It's healthy so flavorful without unnatural or over salted or over sauces. I got the bowl with quinoa and kale with almond creme, and some sauerkraut carrot. Not crazy for the sour radish and carrots but the rest was delicious. Finished off with a turmeric ginger shot. Unlike other juice stores. This had no sugar or sweetener.

Yelp
Meh food - adorable spot. So first off, the location is great, parking is pretty ok (mostly metered but I got a free 2 hour spot), and the actual place is adorable. Great place to meet a friend and chill. Staff was helpful and friendly and the bathroom was clean. I got one food item - so the lack of state is based completely on that. Avocado toast. Most popular item on the menu. It's good! Interesting. Not your typical avo-toast in that there's some sort of nut cheese on it (I am not a vegan but didn't mind it. It wasn't amazing. It was meh) as well as sumac. Was nervous about the sumac bc I'm generally not a fan but it was quite delicious. Why, then, the missing stars? Place was adorable and toast was surprisingly okay! A few other reviews mentioned this - the bread was HARD. WEIRD. idk maybe that's on purpose but the edges seemed stale. And the avocado and toppings were thiiiiiiin. Didn't like the bread/delicious stuff ratio. Also the nut cheese I could have done with it it didn't add anything except much needed volume and was slightly weird. I know I said it was fine earlier. I guess what I meant was it's not gross. Should you come here? If you're in the area, sure! Should you make a special trip? Absolutely not. Lower your expectations and enjoy the ambiance and you'll be very happy.

Josie Z.

Yelp
Love this cute little cafe. Has a clean and fresh vibe. They have a variety of baked goodies to select from, tons of menu food items with fresh wholesome ingredients. And all the great coffee drink basics. No frills. Simple, timeless, and delicious.
google avatar

Toshi I.

Yelp
Passing by after my coffee date and decided to give it a try. Wish I had known to stop in first to enjoy the Fig tart with my coffee. A little pricey though but definitely a quality baked goodie that's Vegan AND gluten free. All goodies baked fresh daily. The guy who worked at the counter was so nice! I'll be back. Note: The menu here is scaled down from the Manhattan Beach location which has more actual meals. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Niko C.

Yelp
The coffee was decent though the 2 star rating is for blocking off all the electrical outlets by the seating. Heaven forbid one try to charge their phone or laptop while trying to work and enjoy a coffee.
google avatar

Velveth B.

Yelp
Love and appreciate the mindfulness behind sourcing quality ingredients and avoiding harmful ones. Usually you can only truly eat healthy at home but not anymore!
google avatar

Caroline C.

Yelp
Love this little local spot! I always end up ordering the avocado toast and curry egg toast ever! I'm not big on gluten-free, vegan or dairy-free items but they do such an amazing job with their sweets that you would never notice the difference.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Dirtiest restroom I've ever seen at a restaurant. Very unfortunately, hygiene is not valued at this place.
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
I adore this spot in manhattan beach! it's the perfect breakfast or lunch place for something healthy with a great cup of coffee or smoothie. I loved how they offered collagen protein and other superfoods to add to your smoothies! The prices are pretty steep but with good reason since they seem to use high quality ingredients and this is everything I would offer at a cafe for someone who is looking for something clean and healthy. I enjoyed their coffee, smoothie, and the power bowl! They have ample outdoor seating and a cute small interior. I would definitely come back when i'm in manhattan beach.
google avatar

Mindy G.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. Their food is high quality and healthy options. We were in town for 2 days and I enjoyed it so much I went back both days! They have nice outdoor seating and deliver to your table.
google avatar

Chao Y.

Yelp
If you want healthy options, this is definitely the place. I'm halfway through a week vacation in socal and needed something healthy after lots of ramen and cakes. I opted for the ginger and tumeric tea, keto shake and Turkey panini w/extra 3.00 to substitute sourdough bread (shared with my partner). The drinks came out immediately (we sat on their patio seating). The sandwich was wonderful but it came out 25 minutes after the drinks. I thought this place would be a quick bite and go place but I guess, I would only come back if I have time to spare. When my partner asked about the delay, we were told their chef was having a hard time getting out orders. Otherwise, this place solid for health conscious folks.
google avatar

Will P.

Yelp
Wildly overpriced hyped up health food here. 2 juices and salmon bagel were $50. I was appalled! I think the bagel was keto and tasted pretty off. But the juice was delicious and the salmon really yummy. I'd go for juice and maybe a cookie and call it a day.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Good, clean eating but honestly nothing to write home about. Had the chicken panini which was solid and not greasy. The lentil bowl was solid. The cherry banana bread was good, but the chocolate cookie was crumbled to dust and wasn't sweet.
google avatar

Willa F.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot on Pier Ave. Delicious food, cute atmosphere. This is a great place for studying with a good cup of coffee and a yummy treat.
google avatar

Yoojin S.

Yelp
Quaint location for healthy breakfast by the beach and the pier. Avocado toast was pretty good, the cashew cream underneath the avocado made this toast unique. I opted the flax oil on the side, and didn't really need it. Their latte was great too! We also got the bone broth -- and it's served in a to-go cup! It's more of a healthy drink than a soup (what we expected). It was so different than what we expected, but they kindly replaced it with a different soup (curry chicken). The place is a lot smaller than the photos and was kinda loud, as they make smoothies too, but found the parking easy right outside (friday morning) and loved that it was walkable to the beach.
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
Everything they offer is so good. Love the veggie panini so much. The smoothies are fresh and delish

Stacey B.

Yelp
Absolute best avocado toast!!' Thin sliced beets, cashew butter, ligature drizzled oil. Love this place.
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
Super friendly staffs and alway smiling ! Make you feel welcome and comfortable. Their latte was amazing I will definitely recommend this place and go back. Thank you!
google avatar

Kris J.

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this place and it was a short walk from my hotel! I came here after a long day of work and driving, and was famished. I ordered the veggie panini for lunch, and the quinoa salad to have later for dinner. I also ordered a cold brew coffee that I wanted for the next morning, so they offered to bottle it for me! The employees were super sweet and accommodating. They didn't even act mad when I accidentally knocked over a succulent and spilled some potting soil, Lol (that was embarrassing). The panini and the quinoa salad were SO DELICIOUS. I will be drinking the cold brew later, but I'm sure it will be delicious. It's so hard to find healthy AND convenient food when I'm traveling, but this place made that super easy. I will be back the next time I am here!!
google avatar

Jenni W.

Yelp
Nice, friendly staff. Delicious food. We had the Turkey wrap and Tuna Pannini. Both were very delicious.
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
Delicious whole food, clean and easy going atmosphere, yummy for breakfast, lunch or coffee and treats! Outdoor seating and near the beach, too.
google avatar

Aimee A.

Yelp
Super cute coffee/bakery shop right along Pier Ave in Hermosa. It was super windy today so had to get in out of the cold (although I'm not complaining, its sunny and like 60 degrees, so Cali-cold, I get it). But the service was friendly and nice - they made my latte with coconut milk and the organic(? - pretty sure it is) blueberry scone was delicious. Street parking in front. Free wifi.

Layla M.

Yelp
I don't recommend coming here, the service and food quality has gone down significantly. The employees are really nasty especially Abby. It's unfortunate that this place has gotten so awful, I used to come here everyday and they don't even make fresh nut milk and coconut milk like before. I placed a pick up order on Yelp today and it showed for pick up tomorrow morning but it said they're still open when I placed the order so I called and told the employee Abby who answered the phone if I could pick up the order today not tomorrow and she kept arguing on the phone saying she can't do that and she can't see the order and that I have to call and cancel and come in and place a new order, when she could have just fulfilled the order instead of being rude and then she proceeded by hanging up the phone on me. She didn't want to help at all. Not only did you guys just lose a regular customer but I also will not be recommending this place to anyone moving forward. It's sad that you guys don't teach you good service
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Turkey Panini was fantastic. I love their outdoor seating. However, I was disappointed with their coffee. Something about it didn't taste that good to me. Starbucks is my base line for coffee, so any coffee shop needs to be as good or better than average Starbucks and Source Cafe does not have that quality. Paninis are great, though.
