We spent a quick night at this hostel and were totally blown away by the incredible views from up on the hill!! Sure its pretty basic accommodation but what really impressed us was how our room had these amazing panoramic views of El Calafate - definitely makes the climb up worth it! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and we were surprised by how clean and spacious our room was considering the price point. Yeah theres nothing fancy here but honestly when your waking up to those views who needs luxury? Whether your looking to save some money or just want the best views in town, this place delivers exactly what you need. A simple but totally worth it stay that left us with some amazing photos and memories!

I stayed at this practically hostel for 3 nights. The front door is literally held together by a rock and string which makes it VERY annoying to open. The young girl who works there was great but Javier and the other lady were awful. On day one I used the taxi that Javier recommended to me and the driver used a link to a website to pay rather than having an actual card machine. My card worked in front of Javier, this is important. On day two I went on a tour from Argentina to Chile to see Patagonia. On my last day here I was on my way to check out early so that I can catch my early international flight back home. I called for the same taxi because I had no other taxi drivers info in this small town. The driver again uses the link to some website to charge my card and for some reason my card is not working. Javier sees this and does nothing. He tells me, "you have no money. You have nothing to give so unless you have money you are stuck here." Luckily these two guests overheard the conversation and offered for me to join them to the airport and Javier adds, "these people are doing you a courtesy because you have no money." Again trying to be rude. I told him I have money but likely my bank became suspicious when I crossed back and forth between Argentina and Chile multiple times in a day. Long story short, I missed my flight and had to pay $1400 for a new flight back home. All because the taxi wanted $35 which Javier could have easily taken down my card information and charged because once I got to the airport my card magically worked. I was able to pay for the $1400 tickets back home but their shady website that the taxi driver had me go to would not allow my card to be charged. When I told the hotel of this the older lady just got mad and said "we are not a bank!" Well lady any other hotel would take the card information and charge the card especially when the guest is telling you they have an international flight in an hour and a half. I am not blaming the cards not working on the hotel but the lack of solutions and the rudeness was astounding. These people do the BARE minimum to call themselves a hotel and are rude. Technically I was still a guest at this hotel because I had not checked out yet and it was well before my check out time and yet Javier and this lady still treated me as a guest very rudely. I would not recommend people stay here. Find somewhere more established in El Calafate. All Javier had to do was take my card info and charge it because an hour later the card worked at the airport. These people costed me $1400 over a $35 taxi. Any excuse they have is nonsense for this.

South B&B was our most scenic stay this far! It was quiet, a great location to walk into town, and a cozy atmosphere. The staff were very helpful in booking day trips (we went to Perito Moreno Galcier) and providing recommendations (dinner at Mi Rancho was amazing!). The dining area has a great view and is a perfect spot for reading or trip planning. We enjoyed our wine outdoors by the gardens. Overall a lovely stay for a great price (we split a room with two twin beds for $90/night total)!

What a wonderful place to stay in El Calafate. Lucia, Javier, Pablo, and the entire family were so lovely. The B&B is perched on the hill with an outstanding view of Lago Argentino and the snowcapped mountains. You are a short leisurely walk, or an inexpensive taxi ride a few blocks to the main part of town. The rooms and building are extremely clean. A great spot to get your footing in Patagonia.

This place was excellent! This building sits just above the city so the views from the dining room and our private room were overlooking the town, a mountain and a lake. The concierge (maybe also owner) was incredibly helpful at directing us around town and setting up our transport to the airport. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in town. It was very clean and our breakfast even included eggs!!

Our family stayed the first week of January 2023 and the hotel staff was great help with choosing and booking our excursions. The view from the dining area was very pretty. Rooms were neat and clean.

Very lovely place with great hosts. The rooms are very clean and comfy and the view over the city was amazing. They can offer you a lunchbox for day trips. Free parking. Short walk (over some stairs) directly down to the city center. Would stay there again!

Yelp
Perfect location, beautiful views of Argentine Lake, delicious homemade breakfast and meals, WiFi, and spacious rooms are just a few of the attributes of this unique boutique-style B&B. They were the first B&B in El Calafate and it shows in every detail. The hosts are marvelous people and true experts: Andrea and Javier suggested amazing outings, delicious restaurants and cafes, and gave us insightful information to make our stay unforgettable. There is no doubt that we will return to El Calafate and be their guests again.
