South Beach Rooms and Hostel

Great location, staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms are maintained and cleaned every morning. Check-in/extending is quick & seamless. I would say my only complaint are some guests who are there seem like there are from the area/state who are probably going through hardships and need a temporary home, so from my experience they are not really as friendly or rude towards people who are traveling around and/or vacation and only click and speak with only each other at times…but that’s no issue if you’re just minding your business, staying in your lane and enjoying your time.

In terms of this place, you get what you pay for. If you plan on it being a resort, it will not give you that vibe, but as long as you are in miami, it will always be miami. There's a general mop throughout the building daily, as well as rained allot, so slip resistant shoes would be a great suggestion. The staff are more like fellow travelers, rather than general staff. There was a major fire while I was there, and we received no real assistance from anyone at that point. All in all, it was an experience, and if they could remodel it, I would probably go back

The location is perfect, however the owner truly needs to step down and give this property to someone who can manage it better. Housekeeping does pretty decent but the quality of this hostel is horrific and horrendous. I smelled this horrible smell of death in the lobby. I guess some animals died in the pipes or walls. It has an overwhelming sour smell it it. Plus they have a sign that says no food or drinks on the roo when they gave a refrigerator in each room ...So contradictory and stupid.

It is a hostel so you will get what you pay for. Unfortunately for me that meant missing the sunset because it took 40 minutes to check in despite being the only individual at the front desk. I can tell they do run things seriously and seem like decent people. However, I was charged a $20 security deposit that was never paid back and have to dispute with my credit card now. The location is absolutely prime and especially cheap so you should still consider staying here.

Frustrated about a few things, for example I was charged more than I should have paid for upgrading to a female only 6 bed room from a coed one. They charged me over double than what should have costed for a simple room change. Cockroaches everywhere and the hostel should look into roach and bug traps and repellant and look into sealing and closing any holes in the rooms and hostel. There was only 3 lockers in my 6 bed dorm, when there should be 6 lockers for 6 beds/people. Other than that, it was an ok stay. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Tolu was the friendliest front desk attendant EVER. We had some issued in one room and he immediately helped us to a better solution. When sketchy guys started to talk to us outside of the hostel he came out and protected us. :) 10\10!!

This is my second time staying here. It was a wonderful stay! Special thanks to Elias…he was the most hospitable & patient front desk agent! Thanks a million Elias for making our stay memorable & special from your kindness! Oriana & Graziella both were also very sweet & helpful upon check out. We’ll definitely be back for a stay when in the area!

This place is not a good fit for relaxation if you’re on vacation or such as the air conditioning is weak and it was so hot I was nearly sweating in there everyday. The building is kind of old. The mural’s in there is nice. It took such a long time to check into the hostel every time and the front desk people lack any compassion. They kind of have an attitude. The skinny young white guy with glasses and black hair was so nice though. He deserves to be a manager. Jorge who works there is so sweet and nice and I will never forget his kindness.

takes forever to check in or out ! It's hard to get the deposit back 20$. If you are Arab or Muslim , don't go Because this guy in the pits latterly told me "you are not welcome here " and nobody want Arabs here. Shame on you

I contacted this Hostel after booking with them on Hostel World's website. The manager & I spoke about the random charge of $73.96 to my checking account. Hosyep World's site quoted me $180+. The manager quoted me over $250. She told me that when I come to the Hostel, I would need to pay $190+ additionally. This was not stated on the site. These people exploit people who are coming to Miami for Art Basel. She told me the fee was non-refundable but under what grounds? That's not the price I was quoted on Hostel World. I made this booking at 3 in the am at that. I do not choose to do business with this hostel due to its deception. And I definitely don't want to deal with the racist manager with the nasty attitude that was on staff on morning shift on November 25th 2023. My stay was supposed to be at from December 5th to the 11th but I don't trust this establishment.

Don't come here!! Our stay was so bad we had to cut our stay short after staying here for a night. The reasons? The living stands were unacceptable and unsanitary. In the middle of the pandemic, you'd expect the hostel to have cleanliness standards but they didn't even have soap in the bathrooms. The worst part is, there were these disgusting worms in the bathroom sink and rendered the sink useless. It was beyond disgusting. I've never seen such a dirty hostel before. Because we cut our stay short, I've been ask for a refund but the front desk pushed the responsibility to contacting their email. I have not received a response yet and they have not given me a refund.

1 staff friendly but the others are the laziest staff i ve ever seen. Lazy, super to check in.. the room are nasty, we have a lot of cockroaches in our room. The staff put music so loud in the nighttime ... till 4am i couldn't sleep. The ac is super noisy too.. The only positive thing here is the location. The breakfasts is fast from 7h30 till 8h30 am. And not good. Price is too high for the cheapest quality. If you want to sleep with cockroaches Coming on your bed at night and pay 40$ per night for that go for it. Also rooms are smelly. Bathroom aren't clean, toilet broken.

Arriving at this hostel was simply awful. The front desk girl was not welcoming, extremely unfriendly and nasty. Not sure why this person is employed in hospitality, other guests also mentioned how awful she was. She seems to be more of a liability to this place than help. I believe her name was Oriona. I will never return!

Very nice staff, I came in exhausted after a long flight delay and the receptionist put me in a more spacious room and gave me late check out. Everyone was super sweet and accommodating.

Absolutely horrible. I booked while browsing and attempted to cancel within the first 5 minutes. The receptionist assumed I didn't speak Spanish and attempted to talk in code to the owner. refused to cancel and waive the fees as well. The receptionist also imitated an Indian accent which was very racist and pretended not to hear me and acted as if there was no signal. I called with a different phone and the receptionist then spoke to me very normal until he realized I was the caller he tried to dodge. booking.com understood and were willing to offer me a full refund so long as the hotel responded and accepted the email in which the receptionist and owner refused. the owner insisted that I pay 80 dollars for a mistake I clearly and quickly attempted to handle. very rude, unprofessional and racist.

I stayed here for a grand total of 3 weeks. Plumbing issues, flooding basement and not to mention they never returned my $40 deposit. This hostel doesn't follow safety guidelines and runs its business unethically.
