South Beach Rooms and Hostel

I recently stayed at South beach rooms and hostel , and it was an incredible experience! The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms were clean, with cozy beds and ample storage for belongings. The common areas were vibrant and inviting, perfect for meeting fellow travelers.

They offer room upgrades in return for leaving good reviews on google. The location is great. However, everything else about the hostel sucks. The rooms and bathrooms are dirty. Staff is rude. They'll give you sheets that you need to put on the bed yourself. Housekeeping is bare minimal. They won't let you do laundry until 6 pm, a point at which no machines are available since everyone else also wants to do laundry. They have 0 flexibility on this policy. Avoid this hostel and find better options.

I stayed here for a week and they people who work here are nice and friendly. However, even though they don’t technically allow it, you are better off keeping your food in your room. There are people who stay here who are inconsiderate rats and will steal your food if you keep it in the kitchen. Apparently they think the world evolves around them or something. They are too spineless too ask and too helpless to get their own food. Which is probably why they are living at a hostel permanently anyway.

Great location but that is allllll that they have to offer. The rudest staff. Visitors are money to them and that’s all; nothing welcoming about them. My personal perception: extremely dirty and barely functional. My friend’s pillow had blood on it, the floor was disgusting in our room (I have something stuck to the bottom of my foot that I can’t get off and it’s grossing me out), mattress had a giant bend in it so I would slide down to the bare metal bed frame through the night and wake up. Airplane blankets are thicker than these were… One of the ladies in my room said she entered in the evening and when she turned the lights on, cockroaches scattered. Sitting in the couch in the lobby right now and even the couch is gross… A woman in line at checkout was upset because she had reserved a bed for herself by putting her tag on the bed to mark it as taken and went out (like any of us would do). She returned to find someone else in her bed with no spare beds available. The front desk guy was avoiding eye contact, speaking over her, and smirking. Then he made a racist joke. Yikes for us all to witness. Anyway, I will not be back and I urge visitors to book elsewhere. $5 bag storage even if you are checking in/out.

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST! We booked it for a couple of days because it was affordable, but “cheap” shouldn’t mean rundown. Every aspect of this hotel is terrible. The rooms were dirty, the bathrooms were disgusting, there were cockroaches everywhere, and the shower was completely clogged, with water never draining. The entire place smelled of dust, bleach, and marijuana. The staff wasn’t friendly either, our receptionist, dressed as the Joker, treated everything as a joke and struggled to communicate with us. The cleaning staff were apparently guests staying for free in exchange for cleaning, and they had zero willingness to help or even clean properly. They were even rude when we asked for assistance. I saw at least 3 fights between them and guests. The common areas look nothing like the photos. If you have any other option, take it, even sleeping on the beach would be better than staying here. I really hope they work on fixing this.

I had an incredible stay at this hostel, and Ottman made the experience unforgettable! From the moment I arrived, he went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcome and comfortable. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the area and gave me amazing recommendations for local spots to visit. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly set this place apart. If you're looking for a place with a great vibe and exceptional service, this is it. Thanks again to Ottman and the team for such a memorable stay!

The location couldn’t be better. It’s very close to the beach and Ocean Drive which is really great. The staff is very friendly and helpful - especially Sammy was great!|The hostel it self isn’t very clean but completely fine for a short stay. We slept very well and had an overall good experience there. |We can’t say anything about the shared spaces or the breakfast because we didn’t use it/eat there.

The hotel’s location is excellent, providing easy access to various sights. I didn’t sample the breakfast, but I appreciated the one-hour late check-out they provided. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Just a heads-up: be sure to bring a card for a $20 deposit, which will be refunded later.

takes forever to check in or out ! It's hard to get the deposit back 20$. If you are Arab or Muslim , don't go Because this guy in the pits latterly told me "you are not welcome here " and nobody want Arabs here. Shame on you

I contacted this Hostel after booking with them on Hostel World's website. The manager & I spoke about the random charge of $73.96 to my checking account. Hosyep World's site quoted me $180+. The manager quoted me over $250. She told me that when I come to the Hostel, I would need to pay $190+ additionally. This was not stated on the site. These people exploit people who are coming to Miami for Art Basel. She told me the fee was non-refundable but under what grounds? That's not the price I was quoted on Hostel World. I made this booking at 3 in the am at that. I do not choose to do business with this hostel due to its deception. And I definitely don't want to deal with the racist manager with the nasty attitude that was on staff on morning shift on November 25th 2023. My stay was supposed to be at from December 5th to the 11th but I don't trust this establishment.

Don't come here!! Our stay was so bad we had to cut our stay short after staying here for a night. The reasons? The living stands were unacceptable and unsanitary. In the middle of the pandemic, you'd expect the hostel to have cleanliness standards but they didn't even have soap in the bathrooms. The worst part is, there were these disgusting worms in the bathroom sink and rendered the sink useless. It was beyond disgusting. I've never seen such a dirty hostel before. Because we cut our stay short, I've been ask for a refund but the front desk pushed the responsibility to contacting their email. I have not received a response yet and they have not given me a refund.

1 staff friendly but the others are the laziest staff i ve ever seen. Lazy, super to check in.. the room are nasty, we have a lot of cockroaches in our room. The staff put music so loud in the nighttime ... till 4am i couldn't sleep. The ac is super noisy too.. The only positive thing here is the location. The breakfasts is fast from 7h30 till 8h30 am. And not good. Price is too high for the cheapest quality. If you want to sleep with cockroaches Coming on your bed at night and pay 40$ per night for that go for it. Also rooms are smelly. Bathroom aren't clean, toilet broken.

Arriving at this hostel was simply awful. The front desk girl was not welcoming, extremely unfriendly and nasty. Not sure why this person is employed in hospitality, other guests also mentioned how awful she was. She seems to be more of a liability to this place than help. I believe her name was Oriona. I will never return!

Very nice staff, I came in exhausted after a long flight delay and the receptionist put me in a more spacious room and gave me late check out. Everyone was super sweet and accommodating.

Absolutely horrible. I booked while browsing and attempted to cancel within the first 5 minutes. The receptionist assumed I didn't speak Spanish and attempted to talk in code to the owner. refused to cancel and waive the fees as well. The receptionist also imitated an Indian accent which was very racist and pretended not to hear me and acted as if there was no signal. I called with a different phone and the receptionist then spoke to me very normal until he realized I was the caller he tried to dodge. booking.com understood and were willing to offer me a full refund so long as the hotel responded and accepted the email in which the receptionist and owner refused. the owner insisted that I pay 80 dollars for a mistake I clearly and quickly attempted to handle. very rude, unprofessional and racist.

I stayed here for a grand total of 3 weeks. Plumbing issues, flooding basement and not to mention they never returned my $40 deposit. This hostel doesn't follow safety guidelines and runs its business unethically.
