South Cali Cantina Albury

I went here for my anniversary dinner. The food was rather.. disappointing. I ordered a burger with double beef instead of chicken and it ended up tasting somewhat like a quarter pounder from McDonald’s. My partner’s portion was too big, because they couldn’t eat it all. Their salsa was actually enjoyable though, it went well with my chips. We both ordered a lemon lime and bitters and both were super lemony. I liked how dim the lights were instead, creating a nice atmosphere and the staff were kind and fast moving. The price is reasonable for the quality of food.

Food was delicious & it was beautifully presented. There was a mix up with an order but the staff were very lovely & quick to fix it up. We were seated in a corner with a very loud speaker & unfortunately could barely hear eachother talk, this was the only down side to a great dining experience.

We came here for my birthday as a bucket-list restaurant to try. The service was lovely, and helpful, however, it was busy, and of course, servers are split between many tables. We were sat on a table of 6, and had to bring another chair and cutlery ourselves for a 7th person, which is the number of people that we had booked ahead for. No issues, we were happy to do it. The wait was quite a while, around 50 minutes, and not many updates from servers about our food, but they kept us busy with drinks. We had a 10 year old with us, and of-course, it is not really a kid-friendly restaurant and definitely had a demographic of young adults socialising. I had the special warm burrito bowl with beef and guacamole added, and no chulo (I don't deal well with spice). The dish was delicious, and balanced well together. It was a perfect portion size as well. The beef was soft, and moist, and had a hint of after-taste that was delicious, and clearly infused with other flavours. I recommend mixing it all together, and with the sour-cream and avocado, made it a moist, appealing meal to eat and enjoy thoroughly. My grandmother, however, had loaded fries, that I snuck a fry in, and immediately noticed how cold her chip was, which was a downside, but she still enjoyed the meal. Overall, a pleasant night out for meals, with only a few things that could be improved upon

Visited during a Friday Dinner. Service was prompt, food was brought put quickly and delicious, and the cocktails were other worldly. So many wonderful Vegan and Gluten Free option! South Cali Cantina is one of the best dining experiences in town!

Small but a very cozy place. You need to go down the stairs to dine in! Good place to take your partner or your family! Love their food & presentation : ) Customer service is great!

I had the most incredible dining experience at this restaurant on Valentine’s Day 2025. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect mood for the meal ahead. The food was nothing short of spectacular — every dish was beautifully presented, like a work of art. Although others may have experienced longer wait times, I’m happy to say that our food and drinks arrived promptly, and we couldn’t have been more impressed! The flavors were vibrant and perfectly balanced, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and creativity. Each bite was a delight, and you could tell that only the finest ingredients were used. It's clear that this restaurant takes great pride in both the visual and culinary aspects of their offerings. I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable meal.

Funky and fresh Mexican food options. Ambience is really cool being a basement that used to house a pancake parlour back in the day. You can sit up on the sidewalk upstairs. It gets busy so suggest to book - taco Tuesday night is a winner with cheaper priced tacos. Can be very noisy in here if that can be an issue for you or your family as it makes it hard to hear. We love the tacos - not really the nachos as it is only the liquid cheese sauce not melted cheese. Depends on what you like really. Would highly recommend if you love modern Mexican food.

Absolutely beautiful food and the service was exceptional we made a late last minute booking and the staff were beautiful and fast service too ! Absolutely love the French martini’s and corn ribs were delicious! 😁 will be coming here often 😁
