New update the food at South has greatly improved again. Service is so so. But the food has gotten a lot better and it comes out quicker than you expect ______ Updated: September 2019 Sad to say that the quality of food isn't as great as before. Service is still top notch. -------- Old review: April 2018 The best service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. The waiters and waitresses are super helpful. The food is delicious and arrives on time (we had to tell them to hold our mains because we were still having starters when it was ready). Everything is great. The cocktails are amazing. They're actually sweet (which is what I think cocktails should be). It's great for groups (it's best to make a reservation, especially if you're more than 4), and the space is absolutely amazing for pictures. Prices are a bit above average but still not too expensive.

South Eatery is a quiet eatery located off Ajose Adeogun Street in Victoria island. It's a relatively decent joint, covid-compliant and kinda chic. It has outdoor and indoor sitting areas and their cocktails are great. The quality of food however leaves a little to be desired, can't say I was blown away unfortunately. The staff are polite and have decent knowledge of the menu items. Overall I'd rate the place as average.

Have been to South Social several times and it remains one of the finest Lagos restaurants. Their drinks are amongst the best in Lagos, if not the very best. Their jambalaya is also one of the choice meals. Great owners, great ambience. Love the "We are mad here" sign too. Definitely worth a visit.

Pricey, but authentic southern style food. About as good as it gets in Lagos. Casual, spacious setting. Food and cocktails were great. The boneless wings were cooked to perfection and the mac and cheese burger is a 10/10. Cocktails are also pretty good.

I loved the ambience of this place. Attended Sunday brunch and it was a really good experience. The food was also great. Tasted really good. Chef is amazing. I had the platter of 4 and... well, let's say my group of 8 were well fed. I'm taking away one star because there's quite a delay in service. The time between when you order and when your food arrives is insane. It'll help if the owners of the establishment gives you something to nibble on while waiting. There's ample parking space and sitting areas inside, upstairs and outside. You can take mirror selfies upstairs. Overall, I'd visit again. Try the pancakes and pepper soup when you drop in.

I was quite disappointed with the platter because it had limited options (for 12k). We had French fries, chicken wings, sausages and corn dipped in cheese. The cheese should have been optional ( I don’t know anyone who eats corn with cheese). As for music, the DJ set had problems because the music kept going off. We managed to get some dance into the evening sha. The place has a good ambiance with the pictures on the wall; which are interesting to look at. The drinks and good company made up for the disappointing food.

South is Awesome!!! The restaurant decor is a good example of chic minimalism with a lovely bar and outdoor swing seating. The French burger is Everythinggggg... very juicy and tasty! The best burger I’ve eaten in Lagos. You should totally try the Jambalaya too. The food and Inventive cocktail menu literally took me on a trip to New Orleans. I was very impressed with the layout, and this is by far the largest (also tasty) portion of fish and chips I've ever had. I would definitely recommend South as an excellent detour from the bustle of Victoria Island.
