South Pacific Helicopters

We had an amazing helicopter flight, seen a sperm whale and we were even lucky enough to see him descend back down to feed showing off his impressive tail. Dan our pilot was knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent pilot. We felt safe the entire flight. Highly recommend such an amazing experience!

Such an incredible experience! The airport is so beautiful, just screams luxury as soon as you walk in. Stunning views from the sky! We saw at least 6 whales the day we flew. Seeing them is something I will remember forever! We did the Ocean Safari with a landing - breath taking. The quick flight from the landing back to the airport was an underrated favourite part of mine. Dan was super knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn't recommend this activity more!!

We did the 30min whale watching encounter and it was fantastic! Dan was very friendly and a super experienced pilot. The helicopter was large, comfortable and safe. We saw a sperm whale! The days prior had been more fruitful with multiple sperm whales and blue whales etc apparently but we are glad we got a sighting - can't control nature! - and grateful that Dan worked so hard to make it happen.

An absolutely amazing trip with South Pacific Helicopters. Dan was a fantastic pilot and made the whole experience feel exciting and very safe. We were lucky enough to see a whale up close, along with dozens of seals and dolphins. Highly recommended. This was an unforgettable experience.

My husband (an amateur photographer) and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with South Pacific's Helicopters. It's very obvious that their chief concern is for your safety and understanding of how everything works. The staff was helpful in not only ensuring your safety, but also in meeting your expectations. It was a beautiful day where you could see forever. Soon into our flight over 200 dolphins were spotted. The water was so clear you could even see the dolphins beneath the surface. Dan, our pilot, easily spotted different kind of whales, and also took us to a place where we could see a panaromic view of the mountains and the ocean. Also, impressive was the contact that was continuously made with other helicopters sharing location of things they had seen. It was a wonderful experience and another view of the beauty of New Zealand. We would highly recommend booking a flight with this company.

Just completed the mountaintop picnic with my wife. What a beautiful way to celebrate our 43 years of marriage. Comfortable trip and fantastic views. Very tranquil and delicious meal. Thank you Daniel.

Wonderful helicopter flight to and from Middlehurst Sheep Station. Pilot Daniel was exceptionally informative, friendly and concerned about our safety and comfort. Definitely gets a 5+ star rating. We would have no reservations about using this business again or recommending it to anyone.
