South Pacific Helicopters

We had an amazing helicopter flight, seen a sperm whale and we were even lucky enough to see him descend back down to feed showing off his impressive tail. Dan our pilot was knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent pilot. We felt safe the entire flight. Highly recommend such an amazing experience!

We were at beautiful Kaikoura and as a last minute decision my wife decided to go on a Helicopter flight. She dropped in and asked the Staff at South pacific Helicopters if they were willing to do a flight with only Two people. Luck has it the owner walked in and said yeah I'll take you. Off we went, what a spectacular view from that awesome helicopter. Dan flew us up the coast following the earthquake fault and up into the mountains, with some great commentary and a few jokes. He landed at what I think is his favourite spot overlooking Kaikoura. Took some great photos. Dan and his crew at South Pacific Helicopters were so accommodating, the helicopters are so comfortable, we had a great flight. Thanks Dan.

We had a great helicopter flight to the mountains and back over the coastline, really enjoyed the views and the additional info we received during the flight. It was also great to get the possibility to sit in the front for taking pictures. We can definitely recommend the tour 😊

Absolutely recommend! Dan took us up in the helicopter. We saw a whale and dolphins, we also took a look at the mountains. Very enjoyable tour! Hes also quite knowledgable.

Our helicopter tour with South Pacific Helicopters in Kaikoura was absolutely breathtaking. The one-hour flight took us first over Kaikoura’s stunning alpine landscapes and it felt so unreal. The alpine landing was a true highlight, with panoramic views from the top which were incredibly beautiful. Along the way, we were also treated to stunning aerial views of the Kaikoura Peninsula and the town of Kaikoura, which added an extra wow factor to the flight. After that, heading out for whale watching was the perfect finale, and spotting two beautiful sperm whales from the air was absolutely mind-blowing and something we’ll never forget. It was our very first helicopter flight, and topping this experience will be hard. Our pilot Daniel was outstanding: incredibly knowledgeable about the area, super friendly, and made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. The check-in process and safety briefing were smooth, professional, and genuinely interesting, making the whole experience feel premium from the very beginning. If you’re visiting Kaikoura and want to do something truly special, this is an absolute must. We cannot recommend South Pacific Helicopters enough, it’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences you’ll remember forever and we would absolutely do it again! Such an incredible experience! The airport is so beautiful, just screams luxury as soon as you walk in. Stunning views from the sky! We saw at least 6 whales the day we flew. Seeing them is something I will remember forever! We did the Ocean Safari with a landing - breath taking. The quick flight from the landing back to the airport was an underrated favourite part of mine. Dan was super knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn't recommend this activity more!!

Absolutely incredible experience. The whale watching via helicopter allows you to move quickly to see the best of the best angles! We got super close and were able to take incredible pictures. The scenic helicopter ride provides the most stunning views I’ve ever seen. It felt like being in a computer screensaver. Daniel was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we got to see everything we wanted. I would absolutely recommend to everyone!

Dan the Chopper Man was the absolute best. Super proffesional and really good at flying. Great local knowledge super interesting and unbeleivably handsome. Thanks Dan for looking after us and showing us the way to tee off at 5000 feet.
