It was pleasant and price was great. Love the service. Room was large and comfortable. Missed having a microwave for leftovers. Midnight - 6am steak and eggs among other great dishes. Skip the shrimp cocktail it’s just stinky baby shrimp. Starbucks in the casino next to hotel checkin. Would have enjoyed more if there was no smoking and if the hotel elevators were connected to the parking garage. Lots of walking just to get to my room. Overall fun but I’m not a gambler so I’m going to try elsewhere next time I’m there on business. Location is about 8 minutes south of the airport which was great! Not much nearby and nothing to walk to except maybe a gas station and a subway. Looks like they’re about to build something new next to it so might have a better walking score in the near future.

We landed at this hotel due to an error on Southwest’s part that turned a one hour layover into an overnight stay. This hotel is so beautiful! The front desk was awesome. The restaurants are delicious. Room service was quick and accommodating. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The only complaint I had was our blackout curtains didn’t close all the way, leaving a 6” gap on the far left which let light in in the morning. Otherwise, this was a great casino hotel and we would stay here again if we got the chance. I really wanted to try the spa!

First time here and will be back. As a former local this is the kind a place I would visit. The crowd here is a mix of locals and older people. This is not a LV strip experience but rather a Vegas experience.||Check in was easy and staff were great.||Room is where I had some issues. First of all, while it was clean and spacious, there was a noticeable smell of cleaning products which eventually faded. Second issue was that the curtain did not close all the way so light started coming in as soon as the sun came up. Lastly, not sure if it was because we were on a lower floor (4th to be exact) but it was noisy and got a lot of noise, mostly from what sounded like a leaf blower. Other than that it was fine. Nice touch was that there were a couple pair of Southpoint slippers (not top dollar but appreciated) waiting for us. Not sure if it was because it was our first time or they do that for everyone.||Bowling alley was fun and reasonable I think. Paid $63 for 4 people and 3 games. Included shoe rental. They have food there however we did not try any.||They have plenty of dining options and we choose Steak and Shake. Was not that good over priced and would not go there again.||Gaming. Loved playing here. This is was Vegas used to be. 3:2 black jack with $10 minimums. Hand shuffle and not like 8 decks. Sat at a table and was able to play for some time. Went up and down bet from 10 to 50 but I was able to stay on the table and enjoy myself unlike on the strip. Other table games had the lower minimums as well.||And staff was great. Asked for extra pillow and they were brought right up. Left clothing in the room and they kept it and was able to get it back from lost and found 2 days later.

We just came for the lunch buffet but loved the whole vibe. This place is colorful and filled with daylight. As we were leaving the lunch buffet, a line was already forming for what is their seafood night. I believe seafood night is on Friday nights, 3 to 9 PM and it includes drinks which they hand you as you're being seated. Very cool. I would love to try a room here sometime. We'll be back!

Google
Hotel was great, food reasonably priced and good. Has that Vegas feel without the chaos of the strip. We rent a car everytime so not a big deal the distance to the strip. Security is also top notch. We left a voucher in a machine late at night after a few cocktails and I walked to cash it in at a redemption close by,realizing I did not have ticket and went directly back to the machine I was playing and somone cashed it out! Could not have been more then 15 seconds. So ,I found security and they were on it. | All this within about 4 minutes total. Luckily I was using my player card, they tracked the ticket number down by number and canceled it in their system before the person cashed it in. They hand paid me the amount of voucher! THANK YOU SOUTHPOINT SECURITY TEAM! It was our first time staying there and will not stay anywhere else from now on. Staff is excellent.

I stayed here for a few days in July and had a great experience. I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of the staff throughout the entire hotel. At one of the restaurants, I mentioned a food allergy, and they were very careful to avoid cross-contamination. That really surprised me, and I am grateful for that level of professionalism. Will absolutely come back here again.

Google
I really like this place. The rates are reasonable, the rooms are big and clean, and there's plenty to do if you don't feel like walking the strip. There are 11 restaurants. My husband likes the poker room. It would be nice if they could heat the pool. After four visits there, I really don't need to stay anywhere else.

Google
Stayed here three nights in June 2024. The room was mostly great. Very large and spacious including the bathroom (with very large doors?) although we had to get two queens instead of a king. We were at the end of the hall on the 11th floor so fairly quiet although noise in the hall travelled into our room. Our window view was the parking structure and roof of the casino and The lights outside shined right in our window so we had to draw the curtains every night but they kept out the light. The room was cleaned every day. We ate at the Japanese restaurant and the Coronado - both good with good service. The pool seemed nice but it was too hot to stay outside long. Free parking is great but that’s because the casino is so far off the strip. The one big negative is the property is very dated - lots of muted yellows - and the smoking in the casino seems very heavy compared to other casinos, especially those on the strip. I couldn’t participate in some of the table games due to people smoking right at the table and blowing smoke in your face. But the relatively low price for our event for the rooms can’t be beaten. The only bad service we had was the surly desk clerk when we checked out.

Yelp
This Hotel is really growing on me. State Line used to be my pit stop on my way home from the strip, but now I always come here. This place has it all. They have a 24hr Sports book. Movie theater, 24hr Starbucks, Bowling alley, and Bingo. Definitely plenty to do if you aren't much of a gambler. It's been awhile since I stayed here overnight, but I don't remember any problem with the rooms. This place also has plenty of restaurant's to choose from. They have a steakhouse, Mexican, Buffet, Italian, Coffee Shop, Japanese, oyster bar, Steak n' Shake , Gourmet spot, and Deli. Free parking! Definitely sign up for their Casino club. It's easy to rack up free food and discounts.

Yelp
Our experience was for sure 5 stars! While it doesn't come across as such, nothing fancy... just excellent! The valet parking is free and simple with bell cart service ready to help, and fast friendly checkin! Same for when it was time to leave! Fast, easy! I loved our room! Nothing fancy but clean and roomy. Omg the bed was soooo comfortable! Slept great every night especially with the extra pillows I requested The pool area is nice, but the pool seemed to be a bit "cloudy" looking-kinda grossed us out. Not a lot of shaded options. Lounge chairs are actually comfy! Pool/bar service was great! Here for USBC Nationals Tournament and WOW! What a fantastic Bowling Plaza with stadium seating located next to the Arena where the Mustang Challenge was going on... also where they host PBR and other events as such! All under Southpoint's roof! With 11 restaurant options, three of which we ate at-each provided excellent food and service! The casino is big! I spent a lot of time and money at the blackjack tables so fun!! Highly recommend! We'll be back!

Yelp
I was comped a free night here from Southwest Airlines after volunteering to give up my seat on a plane. Checking in was super easy with the voucher provided by the airline and I was in my room in no time. The rooms were nice and a pretty good size. The pillows had some heft and fluff to them and it was a good room for the night. Shower was nice too with actual soap! The sundry store on the way to the room elevators was amazing. The booze options were reasonable and had a Jack with Dirty Shirley for about 5 bucks. I wouldn't recommend the Dirty Shirley though. A little flat and bad flavor. I had to chase it with a neat Jack to get the aftertaste out of my mouth. Worst 3 bucks I spent all week! There were a bunch of restaurants which were reasonable and their breakfast buffet looks like a steal for under $20 with bloody Mary's! It's off the beaten path of the main part of the strip but if you had a car, I think the parking is free and there is plenty around the area as well. The Casino was hoppin' and there were lots of machines and table games. It's a big rectangle so you can't get lost as easily as you can at Caesar's Palace or IKEA. I'd stay here again if the price was right!

Yelp
Made the mistake to stop in and play poker here last night. I don't expect much as far as wonderful conversation, but one of the dealers passed me over after the flop and I made the mistake and challenged him on it. He said I tapped and I didn't. It wasn't a big pot ordeal but he was rude. So I challenged it and he called a poker floor person over named Abel Mobley, I explained to him and immediately the guy was rude to me and said your stopping all this for $5 pot. To me it was the principal of the matter. Abel went on to say, Shake my hand or I'm throwing you out! This was my first Southpoint Poker room experience. I'm a bartender of over 30 years, this poker environment is cold and un friendly. He told me there's no customer service when it comes to the poker room???? That will be my last visit!

Yelp
It's great as a host for USBC tournaments. Came here earlier this month to "compete" in the 2024 USBC Open Championships. If we ignore the bowling part of the stay, this hotel and casino is pretty awesome. The place is huge and there are plenty of free parking options. The rooms are modernized and there are plenty of restaurants to try if you are on a tight schedule. I really liked the cafe from 12am to 6am where you can eat a nice breakfast for like $6. Yes $6, and you don't even need to gamble once. Pretty sure room rates are discounted for bowlers as I thought the rooms were a steal. Huge overall with expo space, multiple bowling centers, fitness, theaters, and all.

Yelp
Just stayed 2 nights at the Southpoint. It has nice rooms, with a Fantastic Spa and the pool is OPEN!! Great Racebook, with my favorite Racebook employee, Tom, to take my bets. Then I can go up to my room and watch the race. Fantastic Sportsbook as well, with comfortable seats and $1.50 Hot Dogs!! Try the $19.95 Porterhouse Steak special in the Cafe! Great Value! Lots of FREE PARKING!! Recommend!

Yelp
mMarty won a package to this hotel . He loved it. Room in a good location near elevator. Pool very spacious. Saw the Dennis Bono show in afternoon wow.About 8 performers all outstanding. Dinner at primarily prime , very good. The Bronx Wanderers show a great production and such talent. We got great seats. He won it at the LV Philharmonic gala. We walked around, staff extremely good. They love working there. Oh we went to the Spa. The entire facility so relaxing. Massages, sauna, steam, lounge etc etc. what a great 3 days.

Yelp
This isn't a casino on the strip - but I kind of prefer that. They have great table game offerings, all the slots you are familiar with, a great sports book and a 24/7 Starbucks. Can't go wrong. They have every kind of food you are looking for & even a movie theater built in. A good spot to get away from the crowd and enjoy some chill betting time.

Yelp
I had such a great experience at the Southpoint that I will be coming again soon. It is a good place for families and just for yourself as well. If you're single and living your best life ever to bring friends, there is self parking which I did like the atmosphere was mellow, which I appreciated, because being on the strip is not always great lol so I appreciated this hotel a lot I did get my good sleep and relax . To the point I went to the pool and had a couple drinks which I appreciated as well. Thank you Southpoint for a great experience of the atmosphere that I haven't had in a while in Vegas which I appreciate and all the stuff was just very friendly and helpful. Thank you once again.

Yelp
South Point Hotel is a pretty large hotel with a movie theater, bowling alley, casino, tons of restaurants and a rodeo? Need I say more? lol. It's not on the strip, so it's a little more affordable. There seem to be a lot of locals and kids. It's definitely a different vibe. I like that parking is free here. I've been here twice now and know some people who like to stay here (as opposed to on the strip or downtown). Both times I was here, I had good experiences. The bowling alley is a very happening place and they have an arcade that's pretty great too. The food has a lot to be desired, but at least it's affordable. I think the bowling alley is great. It's huge and they're very clean and efficient. You can rent shoes, buy socks from a vending machine, eat cheap popcorn, hot dogs and pizza and have a great time with the kids :) I haven't stayed here and can't say anything about the rooms, but the casino looks pretty dated, so I'd think the rooms are on the older side too. This hotel isn't glitzy or glamorous, it's affordable and chill.

Yelp
If you are looking for a hotel in Las Vegas that is away from the strip and old town Las Vegas, then this is it. It is about 20 minutes from the strip and I was surprised with how big the resort and casino were. The table games had reasonable minimums and the sports book was close to all the action. There are several restaurants on property along with rooms for less than half of what I paid the next night on the strip. The resort is great for families as the property has a pool, a bowling alley, and a spa.

Yelp
This is a great local, chill casino that always offers a lot of specials and great priced drinks. Service here is always good and prompt. Casino is spacious with multi-levels and multiple bowling alleys, bingo room on 2nd floor, and a variety of dining options. For casino entertainment they will have what you need. There is nothing "special" about the decor here that sets this place a part from other casinos except the beautiful stained glass behind the hotel check-in area. The rest of the place is a pretty standard casino.

Yelp
So I have always tried to make it a point to stop by here as it was a favorite when visiting LV and this last trip I booked our rooms here because we came for a concert at the Wynn. I really like that this is off the strip. Free parking. Spacious inside with some other entertainment: movie theater, bowling alley and plenty of eateries. I am dropping 2 stars for some disappointment. Our room was nice but the bathroom has little to be desired. Our toilet was running when we checked in and found that the flapper was completely broken off. You'd think someone would notice? The tub was old and very small for someone over 200 lbs. The AC worked if you turned it down super low. Its the first hotel room I ever had that was not carpet which is a good and bad thing. The drapes couldn't close the way. I liked that there were several regular/USB plugs and a mirrored desk/vanity table. I usually like to take and use the free toiletries but they were cheap and awful. The soap barely lathered up. Gaming/slots was not great. All the bonuses I got were less than 10 x my initial bet. I never heard or saw a handpay. Promos aren't great either. I tried to get the free Yeti mug if you earned 1500 pts in which I did but because it was half done on video poker, it didn't count. She says you have to do 1500 on slots OR 4000 pts on video poker. Ridiculous. I am not winning a free TV, just a dam mug. Then the restaurants weren't all that either in which I will review separately. Bad service and found that all the food was the same from the buffet! Not sure I would stay here again? as the price wasn't much cheaper than the strip for a weekday.

Yelp
Can't wait to come back and hopefully no changes is there FREE parking. This is far away from the all the casino in downtown & strips businesses! Very cozy place to stay

Yelp
Strictly the spa experience, not the hotel or any restaurants. First time going to this spa and the last!! We were so excited to have this time as sisters going to relax at the spa. First impressions are everything in my book. Got to our appointment to check in where we should have been acknowledged with a friendly greeting, you would think so anyway. Instead, greeted with: what's your first name/last name, sign this paperwork. Extremely cold personality. No welcome to the spa, smh...Then, someone came behind Denise and she escorted us to the back. At that point, we had no desire to spend our money in a place that did not value our dollars (our business). Never received a massage here so can't comment on it. We chose to cancel our service. We informed the Manager. Was able to rebook elsewhere, and we are excited. We work hard, so looking forward to relaxing with a great welcome elsewhere.

Yelp
Always enjoy stopping at Southpoint when we are in Vegas. Honey likes to place his Sportsbook bets here and is comfortable watching his games in the Sportsbook area while I play slots. Southpoint always has the newest games out and I like to hunt them out and play! Waitresses are always around to take your drink order while you play so you don't have to go to the bar yourself. Make sure to tip them. So happy that Starbucks is in the lobby right next to an ice cream shop.

Yelp
Heading north on I-15 before you get to the Strip, I recall passing a large gold casino next to the freeway. Meeting local friends one evening, they suggested we meet at the South Point Casino for their buffet. We were staying at the Luxor and it was about a 15 minutes drive for the seven miles there. They have a ground level lot as well as a seven story parking structure, where we had no problems finding a space. We met at 4:30 and our friends walked us over to The Club to get a free player's card since it got you $3 off the buffet price for two people. The process was easy and I got my card in a total of five minutes. From there we headed to the Garden Buffet prime rib buffet. It was very good buffet for $26.95. We were able to take our time to enjoy our meal and catch up. This was a good regular-type buffet for the price compared to the Strip, where it would costs more. As locals, our friends said this was their favorite casino off the Strip as it was less touristy. I saw the directory and didn't realize that the casino has a Century Theater with 16 screens, 64-lane bowling alley, a 400-seat showroom and an equestrian center. I will be back for the Garden Buffet and check out that bowling alley. Service was friendly from The Club to the Garden Buffet.

Yelp
I liked it overall! There was some bad notes, but I believe the benefits of this casino outweighed the negatives! The Good The online photos doesn't do the hotel any justice! It looks (and smells) a lot better than I'd thought! Early check in fee only $20 Kid friendly- movie theater (stadium style and clean!), pool(s), bowling, restaurant options, etc. Great room service and option to opt out. Fairly quick when calling for service (10 minutes!) Very nice pool area with different pool options! Restaurant variety! I only paid to eat at 3 and they were decent The Neutral- (and good to know) Located in the middle of no where, so without a vehicle, you're taxiing or ubering Beautiful ballrooms for events Great food for events (in ballroom). We had the choice of salmon, steak, or chicken and they were all delicious! The Bad The cigarette (and other) smoke(rs) I believe I caught Covid here... I stayed at this hotel from Thursday til Monday- by Tuesday, I have a positive test. There are zero restrictions or use of masks. There IS sanitizer available all over but that's it. It was FILLED with patrons. I smelled the equestrian area before I knew there was one. It's located near one of the restaurants I attended a fairly large ceremony over the weekend and this was the hotel recommended. I overall loved it and would stay here again.

Yelp
Very nice older casino. Away from strip Which is nice. Food places are great inside and machines were hot

Yelp
We came for a bowling competition and have been very impressed with not only the services but with the overall condition and cleanliness of the hotel our rooms and especially the alleys. The garden buffet has a substantial amount and selection of food and the quality has been very good. I've eaten way too much the past few days. Lol We had dinner last night in the cafe and the food there was also very tasty. This casino has done an excellent job of making our stay very relaxed and has over the top customer service. We would definitely return again. Thanks to you SP management.

Yelp
We always enjoy visiting this casino. They have some of the best food and a gigantic gaming floor. We highly recommend Primarily Prime Rib. It is located upstairs. Check out Michael's if you love fine dining.

Yelp
You've most likely seen that Gold Hotel to the right on your way driving into Vegas. That's South Point. Don't snooze on this South Point Casino/Hotel. They have garage parking & an outdoor parking lot... It's a pretty chill hotel. If you need a pit stop before heading to the strip there's plenty of restrooms to choose from. It's a lot bigger than I thought. They have several restaurants here. Fine dining & casual. Even an Oyster Bar. There's a lot to do here too. They have a barbershop, salon & a Spa... And not to mention Kid-Friendly. By that, I mean that the kids can go eat at the restaurants & buffet too... Did I mention they have a Bowling Alley And a Movie Theater?! Can't forget to mention they have an Ice Cream Parlor too. Yes they have an AYCE (all you can eat) buffet at South Point. It's called the Garden Buffet. A buffet for less than $50 why not?! The line appears long, but don't be fooled, it moves along. *Pro Tip: Sign up to be a Member of their Players Club & score a discount at the Garden Buffet. (Short Story: I was in Vegas for the weekend & I knew I wanted to hit up a buffet, but not spend $$ at overpriced places. I also wasn't trying to wait in long lines & wanted to avoid the crowds at super busy buffets. I tend to overthink to myself & didn't want to be disappointed for spending $50-$80 & have high expectations that didn't deliver. It was good, & very chill at a decent price... This was also a stop leaving Vegas.) I can't rate the rooms, Bec I have yet to stay here. From what I've read, they seem spacious... I do see myself staying here in the future. In case I have a Vegas Trip & want a place to stay in South Las Vegas & feel like staying away from the Strip lol.

Yelp
First and LAST time here CUSTOMER SERVICE is the WORST!! I checked my sister and myself in. I explain that my sister had a stroke and was not feeling good. Charge $20 for early check-in. I said i didn't see or hear that anywhere when I called to get an early check-in. The girl Charyl WAS SO RUDE. In the morning I went down to speak to a manager , WHAT A JOKE she was worse than the other one ADI Flores, you definitely need to go back to training. Will never step foot in there again .

Yelp
I hate to admit it but I'm a frequent Vegas passerby. South Point has become a must stop before hitting the strip. A bit underestimated. A bit less busy. You can't miss the resort. It's gold. There is a little bit of everything here. Plenty of food. I recommend skipping the buffet. The line is never-ending, and the food is just okay. There are a few underrated places like the Meican joint upstairs. There is a bowling alley that I hear is fun. The over priced Starbucks is a typical bucks that allows you to skip the line and use the app. The deli inside usually has a line but it offers sandwiches and treats for those on a budget. Slot machines are plentiful. Not my favorite place to play but they do have a good selection. I mainly cone for the Sportsbook. It's easy access and allows you to get in and out quickly. If your bet wins, you don't have to deal with hitting the strip to collect. The parking is free

Yelp
I stayed here for 2 nights in late May for friend's wedding. It was my first time staying here and I always pass by this casino all the time. We paid $20 early check in and got a room on 4th floor. The desk counter person was nice and cordial. It was a far walk from the garage to reception desk and equally far walk to the hotel room. The room was nice and clean and spacious with the view of a wall. The bathroom was spacious too. Although I can hear the chatter in the hallway. Overall nice and clean ro As for the casino floor, it was Smokey so I had to dodge the smokers. Quite a few of slots and few tables in the middle of floor. There was Starbucks, ice cream, sports area, lounges, and various restaurants. Plenty of parking in the garage.
google avatar

Gillynn C.

Yelp
I love the rooms. I was here in a bingo special and it was $75 for 3 nights. The rooms are spacious and modern. Views aren't great. There are some great restaurants like the Japanese one and the deli is not bad. I love the 24 hour Starbucks and use the app if you can I avoided a 30 minute wait with the app since it was packed in the morning. They have quite a bit of events like bowling and bingo and even tho it's packed service is not compromised.

Yelp
Respectful and friendly staff. Enjoy the all you can eat brunch when I go during the National Finals Rodeo. A lot to do in on spot especially for the equestrian community. Worth going if you choose to go to Vegas.

Grant S.

Yelp
My wife and I have enjoyed the South Point Hotel and all the amenities for many years and have been eager to post exceptional reviews of our experience in the past, unfortunately our last experience was not so terrific. We gladly paid the extra $25 for early checking the day of our arrival and seemed to be happy with the room assigned until we discovered that both phones were inoperable. The bathroom sink as well as the bathtub had a a major clog possibly due to construction on this floor the past week. The maintenance person that was sent to our room was kind and efficient, however it was time consuming with the need of housekeeping to perform cleanup afterwards. It was also apparent that more rooms were assigned to this side, rooms 1300 and above I believe. Two elevators on this side became inoperable so delays and overcrowding in the functional elevators existed. Yes, mistakes are inevitable and unfortunate, But this vacation was cut short with our intention to stay longer than two days, but we just knew it wasn't in the cards this time. Sure would be nice if management could make it a bit more pleasant next time as we come often to this fine hotel! Thanks for listening, Respectfully! Grant & Cori (past very grateful patrons!)

M M.

Yelp
Vegas local. First time stay. Booked 5 rooms for out of state family members' vacation. Rooms are clean and appear to be renovated. The view from our rooms was a roof top.and was horrible but we weren't concerned with that. The Coronado Cafe food was decent but seemed overpriced for cafe food. Enjoyed Baja Miguel's. The casino has a lot of new slots, but it smells like smoke and fart all the time. For as many slots as they have, I didn't see a whole lot of winning. Overall, decent rooms, free parking, and good amenities but might choose another place to stay next time.

Yelp
Good Strip hotel alternative - clean, spacious, fairly modern rooms with comfortable beds and far cheaper than something comparable on the Strip. The restaurants have jacked up their prices for 2023 but my favorite is the Big Sur Oyster Bar (see my separate review). Good thing the movies still cost $4. The slots are supposedly looser than on the Strip so that's good too. My friend bet $0.18 on a penny slot and won $200 (your results may vary.) Free airport shuttle by reservation. ONLY wish they had a free Strip shuttle as well.

Yelp
We come here regularly for bowling tournaments. Mostly we love it. But then weird stuff happens. The bartenders at Miguel's bar are awesome. Let's just say that. But the island bar tonight charged us $14 for drinks while we were gambling. What the heck??

Yelp
Breakfast was awful waste of money I don't recommend at not much else say not very good low quality food

Yelp
Good sized room, comfy bed. Reasonable price. Good choices of restaurants and bars. Fair gambling. We will be back! We miss the ZZ Top slot machine!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here three nights, traveling with friends who wanted to attend the Glass Craft and Bead expo at the casino. We had a premium king size suite. It was very nice. We had two comfortable upholstered chairs and an upholstered footstool. I enjoyed having a small table with 2 chairs, plus a desk with chair. The long dresser offered plenty of storage. I really appreciated having electrical outlets and charging ports on the nightstands on either side of the bed. We had a fridge and coffee maker we never used. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had one sink (enough) and plenty of counter space. I loved having hot water on demand in the bathroom sink so I could wash my face with warm water. We were on the fourteenth floor and had a decent mountain view. The parking was free both in the surface lot and in the parking garage. The primary disadvantage of this hotel is that it is far from the activities, restaurants and shops on the Strip. We Ubered to shows on the Strip several times. The South Point's lobby does not have a high ceiling or a beautiful botanical display or art display. This casino is unusual in that it offers an indoor equestrian arena where rodeos take place. The comfortable seating surrounds an oval shaped arena. The casino host competitions such as the Las Vegas National Horse Show. Also, the casino has two separate bowling areas: one for normal guests and another for professional bowling tournaments. During our stay the United States Bowling Conference was having a 2024 championship tournament with 52 teams from 50 cities and 15 states. The casino's sit down breakfast at Coronado Cafe was very reasonably priced, especially after midnight. We had good breakfasts both times we ate there. This is a good safe place to stay if you don't want to fight the crowds on the Strip or venture to sleazy downtown Fremont Street.

Yelp
If you've ever been to Vegas before the year of 2004 - give or take - South Point is a throwback to the old days when the resorts seemed to actually want your business. The downside is that it's pretty far off strip, so you can't really walk anywhere, but it is a large property with pretty much any amenities with ample dining and entertainment options. If you remember and long for the old days of getting great value from your Vegas vacation, I cannot recommend South Point enough. You can put $100 in a slot machine and it will not evaporate in three minutes. The table games have reasonable minimum bets and fair payouts. Drink service is good. Many dining options at reasonable prices. Even if you buy a drink at the bar, the price is reasonable. They still give out coupon books, which nobody else does anymore including one for a free beer. The rooms are large, updated and importantly, clean. Beds are comfortable. The pool is nice and you don't have to walk 2 miles to get from your room to the pool. One minus regarding the pool was lack of shaded areas for those who prefer to lounge in the shade. If you're looking for frat party atmosphere, wild nightlife, etc. then South Point is probably not your best choice, but the casino is lively for all of the right reasons. We've done the "action" of center strip at least 8 times over the last 25 years, so we have that out of our system and wanted a more relaxing trip where we would get value for our money. South Point delivered.

Yelp
Love this casino! Away from the traffic and crowds on the strip, being a local now for 2 months I am very happy there are great local casinos away from the crowds. Met up with some friends and sat at the casino bar. Had drinks and played some video poker machines. Everyone was so nice there and boy was it busy! A "good" busy! "Juan" was our bartender and he was VERY nice! Drinks were always filled and Juan was very personable - excellent bartender! I'll be back soon!

Yelp
( this should be a half star or no star) On Friday January 19th 2024 I was playing high limit video poker and was approached by a slot attendant named Lyn she started talking to me while playing 75 dollars a hand. She stood over me and continued to talk, I did not reply after ignoring her I just "shoed" her away. I asked for a supervisor and asked him to tell her to please stop bothering me while i am gambling. On Saturday morning I spoke to the slot dept manager Mr. James Brown. He assured me that he would address this issue. Well I go saturday night the 20th for dinner with my wife. I go back to high limit and play hit a small jackpot and I go elsewhere in the casino. After 45 minutes I hit another jackpot. Waiting to get paid the shift manager Shelly , Lyn and Casey all from the slot dept came over with a security guard to pay my winnings and I was told by Shelly I am no longer allowed to play in the slots at the Southpoint I guess my money is no good in slots at the Southpoint Casino..

Yelp
We really love Southpoint! The casino is nice, they have a lot of other things too like bingo, bowling, and arcade, and a horse track. We started making it a tradition on a trips to Vegas to eat at their lunch buffet once while visiting. The food is pretty good and affordable by Vegas buffet standards. Never stayed there, but seems to be a budget friendly, clean option.

Yelp
Parking is still free here. Something that isn't so common around Vegas now days. This hotel isn't on the strip nor in the popular downtown area either. Not as popular as the Cal with the Hawaii locals but still a good majority will flock here too. One of my dad's favorites and over the past few visits with him i can see why. Good buffet, good gambling spot, and like I've said... free parking. Although we haven't stayed in a room here, we always still have good experiences here. The kids really enjoyed the buffet and it didn't break the bank. My dad is a huge poker player so he's been trying to get us more involved. The poker room is set up really well for any and everyone of all types. Sometimes table games can be intimidating but here it's super chill. Hopefully one day we'll be able to check out a room. There was one thing i didnt care for... during rodeos the parking garage reeks of horse poo. Other than that, its all been good.

Yelp
I have a friend who lives close & when he's in town we have met here several times. Its a good size casino but they are tight with the winnings here. I NEVER win money & my friend has dropped thousands of dollars & has never evened out. He doesn't even get anything in return for all the money he has gambled here. I did stay here once a few years ago. I won a free night & took advantage of it. Room wasn't bad but old. The hotel is definitely in need of an update. Haven't seen or used their pool yet. They have a movie theater & bowling alley that I've been in a few times & have enjoyed. I LOVE their 24hr cafe. I always get an omelet & grilled bagel....soooo yummy esp late night when your hungry. Years ago I ate at the steak house, was OK. I love going to their 12:30 Dirty FREE comedy show on Friday nights @ 12:30am. It fills up fast so get there early to grab yourself a seat. Grandview time share is right next door so great spot for timeshare guests to hang out @. I was just recently here joining a female Meetup in the bar area right next to the sports book area. They were having a $4.00 any drink special which was a great deal!! We had a waitress that was very attentive for a bit then she stopped....not sure why? She was still in the area waiting on other people but not us so we started going up to the bar to get our own drinks. Southpoint has a lot to offer inside, definitely worth checking out esp if your close by. Its conveniently located by the highway so easy to get to. I LOVED the year they had the Lee's Wine event here! Great location. One year I met friends here for a FREE super bowl showing & spent a NYE here to watch the Spazmatics play.

Yelp
It's a big (really big) casino hotel. I was only there for a layover, so I wanted a quiet, comfortable room, and I got it. No complaints.

Yelp
We had an absolutely great stay, everyone was friendly till the end, the final impression at check out was terrible. We spent a total of 4 nights and I was hosting a group that had 7 room on two reservations. All rooms and common areas were clean, saw tons of employees cleaning all the time. Food was great, fast service and friendly service staff. My one star comes from my check-out with Nioko at the front desk, again I had 7 rooms and didn't know four of the room numbers off the top of my head, Nioko basically refused to look by my name or be helpful in any other manner, all four I needed help with were in my name. I offered to pull up reservation numbers on my email, Nioko just shook his head at me. At this point I asked for a manager, the manager was able to help me in no time and had me on my way. Gate to say it but the final impression left this place with a one star. They can do better!

Yelp
Pleasant locals casino, well south of the Strip, on the approach into town from California. This is a big, spacious property with a long list of diverse selection of amenities to partake in addition to the casino. We've not stayed at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. We have taken in a show in their showroom, seen numerous movies in their theatres, dined at several of their restaurants, and of course a bit of gaming. This is a quality operation.

Yelp
i didn't fancy the hotel as much but the food options were honestly crazy. i was so impressed and overwhelmed at the same time because i was only there for one night! i ended up getting the short rib ramen the day i checked out and it was the best ramen i had at the time. the broth was very flavorful and the noodles were a very generous portion. i expected a bit less, and they went beyond. the waitress was also very kind to offer her menu favorites. the ramen alone gave the establishment 5 stars

Yelp
When looking for a buffet and gambling this is the one. The food is always on point. And the atmosphere is lively. I had a chocking incident there last year and from what I was told everyone jumped into action for which I'm grateful. Ended up with emergency surgery but it could have been worse. I tip my hat off to everyone.

Yelp
I was in Vegas for 1 night and didn't want to be on the stip. This place was the best all inclusive hotel. I loved my short experience. This place is like a Reno Nugget or Boomtown in steroids! 8 restaurants, movie theater, bowling alley and a horse corral. This place houses tmrw houses for many events. The bonus is every staff member I encountered had top notch customer service. I'll be back!

Yelp
My 2021 and 2022 Favorite Vegas Resort.      I would like to write my belated #ThankYouThursday review on the South Point. I am very thankful to the South Point for giving the locals and tourists a real Las Vegas experience where people feel like they are stepping into what the real Entertainment Capital of the world instead of some has been casino that has cut out all the things that have made it special and resorted to nickel and dining.    The South Point is currently my favorite hotel and casino. Unlike the competitors who have sold out by getting rid of the buffets and other amenities because they cannot stand to have a loss leader that brings people in, the South Point is the only local's resort to offer a buffet. It is the Garden Buffet. It is the Garden Buffet that has diverted a lot of my visits from nearby competitors including Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station, the Silverton, The M, and the Orleans. From 2011 to 2021, I must have had three check-ins here. Since late 2021 my check-ins increased by 37. The South Point had much more to offer than the Garden Buffet that I plan to soon write an updated review on that will bring it to 4 Stars.     I am very big on safety. When I visit a resort I expect to see a lot of cameras in the parking lot. When I do not see them it tells me that that property could care less about their customer's safety. At the South Point parking structure and parking lot, I see plenty of cameras.     When it comes to eating the South Point offers plenty of restaurants that are affordable. And good. In my opinion, their Del Marr Deli is the best sports book restaurant in Las Vegas. I believe that they are still owned by the Bagel Cafe. From experience, their bagel sandwiches are the bomb. The Coronado Cafe provides 24 Hour dining with the old school Las Vegas late night specials. Their Steak & Shake has a Happy hour ice cream shake special. They have a well known hot dog stand. There is a Starbucks that was formerly the last Seattle's Best in Las Vegas.     The South Point is a fun place to get exercise walking. I enjoy walking by the horse statue then going upstairs past the Century Theater that always smells like popcorn, through the bowling alley which is always busy, then back down the escalator through the casino then down the long hallway with advertisements of the upcoming shows and current food specials, then up another escalator into the long convention center corridor.  Sometime this corridor leads to a rodeo in the arena or a bowling tournament in the bowling tournament facility.     Disparate from many of the resorts, the South Point has not jumped on the detheming bandwagon. This is an equestrian themed resort with rodeos, rodeo trophies, horse figurines, and horse pictures.      The South Point is a lively and cozy spot to hang out. When I want to relax, I will pick up Starbucks then walk nearby to the plush couches in the hotel lobby that is adorned with picturesque stain glass.     Although the machines seem to be on the tight side, I enjoy playing my Caveman Keno here. The Cocktail Waitresses are generous with the drinks. Even though I am gambling slower than a turtle stuck in molasses while watching YouTube, they have given me zero problem bringing me a drink. They come around consistently. The machines are modern and well maintained. The chairs are comfortable. The South Point attracts a good crowd which adds to the enjoyment of gambling here. Additionally there is a security presence.     Where numerous resorts have gone the way of a hasbeen, the South Point is better today than it has been prior to 2021. When I spend time in the South Point, I do not say to myself, "This resort was so much better a couple of years ago." Or "This place used to be so much busier and now it feels so blah." When I have spent time in the South Point, I look forward to my next visit. To put it simply, when a resort offers a true Las Vegas experience that offers fun, excitement, and value people like myself look forward to returning to that experience. And that experience is at my current favorite Las Vegas resort: The South Point.
