We stayed 5 nights at South Point near English Harbor in the south after spending 4 nights at Antigua Village near Dickenson Bay Beach in the north. I'm glad we chose two different places because it provided good access to a variety of beaches, restaurants, and island sites. Our room at South Point was excellent and included a 2nd floor balcony with a wonderful view of the pool and Falmouth Harbor. The location was also very good, as we could walk to restaurants at the Antigua Yacht Club, a nearby supermarket (where we bought drinks for the room), and even to Nelson Dockyard (best in the morning or late afternoon when the heat dies down). Our room included free morning breakfast which was very good with many choices, but it's not quick and you need to plan at least an hour every morning. The staff at South Point were all very pleasant and helpful with good tips about the best island sites. The room includes a nice kitchen area with refrigerator, microwave, and sink. The timing of our visit in late July/early August was the off-season, so we had the hotel and beaches mostly to ourselves. We were often the only people on the beach except for locals and honeymooners. Our favorite beach was nearby Pigeon Point, although we wish there would have been chairs to rent (those are available during the busy season). Our favorite restaurant nearby was Pillars at the Admiral's Inn. A must see is the view from Shirley Heights, and we enjoyed the music and food at the Thursday night Reggae Festival there. The zig-zag pier in Falmouth Harbor is an amazing structure, but it was a little disappointing that so few boats were coming and going during our off-season stay. The only minor negative of South Point was the lack of umbrellas at the pool since the palm trees don't provide much protection against the afternoon sun. If you decide to rent a car like we did, be prepared for rough roads, confusing directions, and crazy local drivers.

Thank you for an amazing stay. We stayed at 3 hotels on island during our trip, so that we could experience different areas. For us this was the best of the 3 and we stayed at. Lovely rooms, Great service, Great location.|This was our 2nd hotel on island and we felt sad leaving for the 3rd, as we just knew the 3rd hotel (Despite it supposedly being the best of the lot a 5* All Inc...which it was decent) was just not going to beat this. We loved being able to walk to the restaurants at English Harbour at night. It felt safe and locals friendly. That said dining in house shouldn't be missed, as the food, drink, service is amazing. Breakfast too was by far the best of the hotels we stayed at, great menu choice and quality. All staff were courteous, well trained in their jobs, helpful. |Our room was the Penthouse apartment. If you can afford it, go for it. Beutiful, large room even by penthouse standards.|Location is great, within walking distance of the local beach, and Nelsons Dockyard and all the restaurants, supermarket & Pharmacy if required. Lovely Pool right on the mini beach they have, where you can take out the Kyak and Paddleboard owned by the hotel if they are available. I love to run too and the local trails and vistas were superb if you're into that... but take liquid with you, it was roasting! Thanks for a very enjoyable stay South Point!

The staff. are amazing. The food exceptional. The vibe is super cool contemporary. There’s an amazing fish show all day long under the deck. Tarpon. They are huge and they are fast. Wonderful place to catch a glass of wine.

Stunningly comfortable and well appointed suites. Beautiful service, attentive and kind. Food is outstanding. Nice vibe right on the water with tarpons swimming beneath the Maia restaurant deck. Best view of the yachts in all of Antigua

Perfect place to stay in the penthouse with another couple. Everything we needed. Rooms enormous and fabulously equipped. Separate dressing area, big bathroom, air con. Views were stunning & pool was perfect temp. Staff were lovely, food amazing especially the hot breakfast stuff and the sushi. Be prepared to chill at meal times - it doesn't always come fast but sit and enjoy the view instead. ||well positioned to stroll into the harbour of an evening with no big hills to climib to get home!

Beautiful Setting. Lovely accommodations. All of the staff was professional, nice, kind and happily fulfilled any requests to make our staff perfect.|The maid service did an excellent job keeping the rooms clean, replenishing with fresh towels and linens. |We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant "MAIA." Both the food and wait staff were outstanding! |To help us celebrate, and make our grandson's first birthday special, they inscribed both breakfast and dinner plates with "Happy 1st Birthday," along with his name, in beautiful chocolate script. |The harbor view of the yachts was very cool to look at and at night when they were all lit up and it was gorgeous. I highly recommend South Point Antigua as a place to stay and relax.
