We only stayed one night as a stop off, but all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Especially Corey behind the bar. Room was very clean and very comfortable, quaint but perfectly adequate for our needs. Location was ideal for what we needed and was quiet, again, what we needed would recommend to anyone as a stop over on the way to/from the Rockies. I’d you want a hotel in the thick of things, that’s ultra modern then this hotel is not for you. But it’s old school building and friendly hospitality (plus delicious cocktails!) was ideal for what we wanted.

Staff in the restaurant of the hotel were great, efficient service, friendly and polite. The food was good in the evening and the breakfast good for what you pay ( a continental selection is available). The hotel itself is very dark in terms of its decor and furnishings. The air conditioning, in the room, is just on, there are no controls for it. The bed has four small pillows instead of two large ones which was a bit uncomfortable. The balcony is shared with the room next to you, which seems a bit weird sharing with strangers. However, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean and spacious.|The pool is small and shallow, ok for a quick dip, but it felt like it needed a good clean. The hot tub was nice but again lots of dead flies in it!|It’s an attractive building in a great location with good staff , and has the bones of being a really great hotel with a refurb and attention to detail…

I tried the soup and grilled chicken burger and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced and i can really tell the chef puts care into every dish. The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked and the soup was full of flavor and comfort. It was definitely worth the price i spent there and the staff were also super friendly and attentive. They made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Great service always makes the food taste even better! Big compliments to the chef and the entire team.

Amazingly beautiful room, would have liked a fridge but good keurig and coffee, and fabulous view to sip that coffee sitting on the deck.Lovely staff. Good outside hot tub and pool. Great library of books for borrowing.Breakfast unfortunately not worth it, definitely eat that meal elsewhere, but dinner is good. Will absolutely come back

We have stayed at the South Thompson Inn several times and still consider it to be a hidden gem as we really enjoy quaint, unique accommodations. Debra at the front desk was very friendly upon check in and our room was exceptionally clean. We enjoyed the refreshing pool (being that it was 100 degrees out), our deck overlooking the river and a tasty meal in the lounge with a friendly server. Our only suggestions for improvement would be some lounge type chairs and more umbrellas around the pool, some nice cocktail music to dine to and a mini fridge in each room.

Clean. Quiet. Quaint. Lovely view of the river from our balcony. Although the Inn is dated you can see the potential. Beautiful grounds. Pool was very clean and refreshing to cool off in. Restaurant had good food and nice service. It’s a little out of the city but worth it for the peaceful vibe.

We stayed here for a night passing through Kamloops and absolutely loved our stay. We would return for a full weekend. It was very relaxing and exceptional value. They allowed us to bring our cat for a fee which was awesome. It’s in a very pretty location, all the rooms have either a nice view of the river or the mountains and a wrap around porch. The hot tub was awesome and staff were really nice to clean it for us upon request. They even had some free bikes that we took for a cruise, although they could use some maintenance.

Upsides: This is a clean hotel on a picturesque property on the river. The room is a furnished suite, with new laminate flooring and good air conditioner. The bathroom has a full jet jacuzzi tub. We had a king room at the end of the main floor hallway and had a chance to enjoy the pool and hot tub outside at sundown. There is a restaurant for the hotel but we picked up our own food on the way in. The front desk was staffed by a friendly young woman who checked us in quickly.||Some small downsides:|- This is a very dated property, with old carpet, walls and amenities. Think late 80’s, early 90’s look. |- Rooms have no fridge, microwave or kettle. |- You are made to sign a waiver a check in that you will not drink alcohol outside your room, or face a $300 fine. Same for smoking (not an issue we don’t smoke), $300 fine for not using a specific area down by the river.

Yelp
Feels like I'm back in 1975. Not anywhere close to town. Very remote location. Would have liked to have been closer to town.

Yelp
Mad at myself for not noticing that they did not show a picture of the bathroom in the rooms on their website. Well, I'll attach a few. The hotel over all is okay. Not as nice and fancy looking as on the website. But the bathroomsin our and our friend's room was brown and gross in the grout and down in the corner was a big brown gross area. Definitely needs renovating but when it's not clean that's not going to get a good review for me and I will not recommend anyone I know to go to this hotel.

Yelp
3.5 Indian family operates a Kentucky-themed hotel on an interesting sliver of British Columbia river. Peak Canada, really. Not new and not run down, everything is clean and more or less updated. The views from the rooms are what make it. Dinner was quality. Servers were friendly and helpful and the kitchen's output was good. Breakfast was missable and not complimentary. There is some sort of a gift shop. If it was an inexpensive motel, I'd love it. **The pool really screams "roadside motel" BTW.** At this price, what you get is nice, but I'm not overjoyed. The real estate dictates the price, I reckon.

Yelp
stayed at this property for one night. Great location and simple accommodation. unfortunately due to poor maintenance and uneven walk way on their paving stone entrance my wife ended up falling flat out bruising her ribs and fracturing her wrist. I forwarded two emails advising management of our dilemma and cost of time off work and the needed medical supplies and have yet after two weeks to receive a reply? it's sad that customer service has reached this type of low. not even a follow up to ask how she is doing. Needless to say not my first stay but definitely my last.

Yelp
We really liked our stay here. Pet friendly, fairly reasonable rates given the setting. Recommend staying on the "mountain" side as the road noise is less, though the river view is very pretty. The rooms have nice wood floors, access to a patio. We ate at the restaurant and it was pretty good. The drinks were great, good prices and not skimpy on the liquor.

Yelp
Very good rooms, clean and professional service. Would stay again The reservation staff was courteous and professional when dealing over the phone.

Yelp
To call this place a hotel is an understatement. How many hotels are located on a 55 acres beautifully manicured landscape. Arriving at the gate we were led by the long long driveway with beautiful white three rail fence. In the dark we didn't realize that behind those fences are horses, sheep and lamas. We really love the gorgeous view in the morning from our patio looking up to the mountains. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The hotel has complimentary bikes for guests. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tube so much including in the cold rainy November night. We saw shooting stars and watched train across the river passing at might. What an wondeful experience. We will definitely stay there again. Best hotel/resort ever.

Yelp
I will base my review based off of what I get for the city it's located in I suppose but it had some silly little quirks that were odd I must say lol! So when we got there was one guy working the desk who told us if we wanted dinner in the restaurant later that we had to give him a heads up so that he could let them know and this turns out because there is no staff there and the front desk guy was also our waiter. What? We were wondering why we were sitting in the restaurant area for awhile and realized it was because he had to finish with the other guests to check in. Okay, smaller towns and not enough flow traffic I suppose. So we have dinner. The menu looks ok and I see crab cakes. MMM. I ask if it's real crab being that they advertise fine dining and the advertising looks pristine but I'm wondering where they'll get fresh crab in this town. Nope fake crab. I'll pass. So we are told by the front desk guy that there's no front desk staff after 9pm so if we forget our front door code to the building or our key, we are pretty much screwed so no 24 hour front desk staff. Then we are told no coffee makers in the room. WTH! Free coffee in the lobby between 9-11:30 but the hallways are like a mile long and who the hell wants to walk that far looking like a mess in the morning to get coffee? I've never heard of an Inn that charges this much not putting coffee in the room, EVER. Then they charge almost $5 a coffee during the day if you want more coffee. They nickel and dime you. They have no microwaves in the room at all and the closest restaurant isn't for miles and it's Denny's yet they close their restaurant around 6:00pm in fact when I was out in the day they phoned me on my cell and asked me if I was going to come and eat at the restaurant because they needed to know. I thought it was very odd as I've never had that before. The hot tub is nice and hot but it's outside but when it was raining outside and we went to go use it, there wasn't one hanger to go outside and go hang our robes or anywhere to put our towels so everything got wet. The balconies aren't separated with dividers so be prepared that if you're in your room and you aren't dressed to have your neighbours peek inside because theres no dividers therefore no privacy. The rooms are clean. Heritage style. Big rooms. Comfy beds. They advertise for continental breakfast but don't tell you until you get there that they charge you $10 for it therefore again nickel and dining you. Never have I heard of a hotel not having coffee in the room and charging for it let alone charging for "continental breakfast" This easily added a $120 on our bill between the two rooms. When I ordered boiled eggs one morning they were ice cold and not peeled. My friend ordered an egg muffin and they pre cooked the egg for the sandwich that was cold and heated it up in the toaster which was burned bad and served it to him. The trout at dinner was freezer burned yet they cooked it and served it anyways. One man show running the front desk, waitressing and I think possibly cooking too.

Yelp
This is a nice property. We enjoyed walked around and seeing the animals. The staff were friendly. The rooms here are basic, yet comfortable and clean. I found the air conditioner a tad noisy as well I could hear people walk g around as the floors creek quite a bit. Over all I had a restful sleep. I appreciated the little extras such as the books and games at the front lobby. Our breakfast was pretty good. I had granola and yogurt and made my toddler an egg sandwich, which he enjoyed. Overall a good experience. I only wish we had stayed more then one night to enjoy roaming the property more. When I phoned the staff asked if we wanted to pay for the river view. I only turned it down between we're coming in late and leaving early. When we woke up in the morning and saw the view we did have I was pleased as it was a mountain view. The hotel has one large patio that our room was attached to. I enjoyed the mountain view more than I would have the river. If you are looking for a river view consider that you are always looking at the main highway as well as the train.

Yelp
The grounds surrounding this hotel are stunning. We were treated very well by the front desk and food service staff. Our room was clean and bright. Just don't look on the floors under the headboards, no one has dusted there for awhile. The rooms could use with a small refrigerator or ice buckets bigger than a large yogurt container. The fact that the light for the bathroom turns on with a light over the sink in a common area of the room was inconvenient at night when trying to not wake up roommate. Hotel may want to add no smoking decals to patio doors of rooms. Our room quickly filled with smoked when a guest in another room snuck out on the balcony for a cigarette. Local and toll free calls were expensive. Free wireless was appreciated.

Yelp
The grounds and staff are excellent. Loved walking around seeing the river, horses and llamas. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the pool was refreshing. Nice that they had water toys/inflatables for the kids. Great that dogs are allowed. Just Skip the restaurant. The food is overpriced and prepared poorly.

Yelp
Bright clean beautiful rooms with porch access and beautiful views, we came with our dog and were given a pet friendly room on the first floor with hardwood floors and a gorgeous river view. The service was excellent. We will definitely be coming here whenever we stay in Kamloops from now on!

Yelp
Well, we got to our room after a long day of driving, looking forward to the restaurant that was so good last time we were here in 2011. It was worth all the money as well as the five star rating back then, but since then, corners have been cut. The restaurant, for starters has a very limited number of options all of which are very expensive (24$ for a small bowl of microwaved pasta and and some overcooked shrimp) which was obviously horrendous quality considering the price we paid for it. The dessert menu doesn't exist, rather they ask you cheesecake, or mousse, of which I had cheesecake that had the consistency of one that had been sitting on a warm counter all night. We got back to the room expecting the nice beds with thick duvets and soft pillows, but rather they had a hard bed with thin sheets typical of a scummy Holliday Inn. I don't know if the hotel changed hands or if the owners decided to cut corners BIG time, but nothing about this hotel is worth the price you pay for it. Save yourself some major moolah and get yourself a cheaper chain hotel.

Yelp
or company held our annual conference/ retreat here, and we all had a great time. very comfortable, very quiet, very scenic and relaxing. our meals were catering in the banquet rooms, and the food is / was very very good. highly recommend this location for a little getaway , or like my boyfriend and I did last year, a round of golf at Riverside ( right next door ) and then, swim in the pool , happy hour on the deck and a gourmet meal in the dining room . the owner and staff go out of their way to make you feel right at home here., this is True Canadian hospitality at its finest !!!

Yelp
We stayed over just for the night. Short stay but very pleasant. The staff I called for the reservation was very friendly helpful and efficient. The room was very clean. Comfortable beds. In good shape (well maintained). No fridge or coffee maker in the room. The grounds are very nice and the view from the room is quite nice. No sound from neighbour but I don't know if that's due to construction or good neighbours. Veranda was very pleasant if you like to sit outside and look at the view.
