"PDX: Go by Tram The tram gives Portland visitors stunning views of the city, river, and mountains beyond. Grab the streetcar from downtown out to the waterfront. You're delivered to the lower terminal for the three-minute ride carrying you 3,300 feet at 20 MPH to the upper terminal at OHSU. Linger for photo ops then head back down to explore. If it's nice, skip the streetcar and walk back along the river. Daily workout, check. Roundtrip cost: $4. At the lower terminal, the Daily Cafe is an easy find in the atrium of the OHSU Clinical building as you disembark the pill-shaped car, built with precision by the Swiss. Head for the river and stroll along the shore in any weather. Double back along SW Bond Ave and consider lunch at Bambuza Vietnamese Bistro. Check out the pricey high-rise condos on the market in the real estate office windows, then relax in one of the pocket parks to people watch. It snows in Portland . A couple of times a winter, even downtown gets dusted and it's a huge mess. I've dreamed about getting my ski gear on, grabbing my boards and heading for the PDX Tram at the South Waterfront. I'd casually climb aboard with the patients and medical folks heading up to "Pill Hill" and blow their minds."

Google
The views were amazing but the ride was very short- maybe 2 or 3 minutes at most. It’s like $8 a person for round trip so not bad. Many of the people that were on it used it for work transportation. If you do go on it, try to get a spot by the windows so you can see the views.

Google
Highly recommend taking a ride on the tram! It gives you the best views of the city! It's like $5 to go up and down. It's awesome! Great views from the top of downtown Portland and some historic views of the new & old - Mt. St. Helens, Rocky Butte, to Mt. Tabor (look for the sign/graphic of the "Past and Future" of Portland located at the top of tram).

Oleksandra Synytsia

Google
The aerial tram runs every day except Sunday, departing every 5 minutes and offering breathtaking views of the city and mountains. For a round trip fare of $8 per person.

Google
Quick and easy way to see views of the city and beyond. Tram operators were helpful in pointing out different landmarks and there's even a map above the front and back tram viewing windows to give you an idea of what you are looking out at. Once you're at the top, there are a couple of viewing areas, but because you are also at a hospital you cannot go in unless you have a reason to (i.e. hospital staff or visitor) so plan accordingly as in eat first and use the restroom before you ride the tram up. We made it fun by first stopping at Blue Star Donuts (a few blocks from the lower tram station) to grab coffee and donuts. While you can't eat on the tram, you can enjoy your food and coffee at the donut shop and use the restroom there before riding the tram. Go early! We went up at 9am on a Saturday when it opened and by the time we got back down (before 10am) there was a line at the station.

Google
I was surprised how busy this place was, but I did not have to wait very long to ride the tram. Once on the tram, it moves fast and smooth except when it goes over the post. The tram swings a lot more than I thought it would. It only swings for a few seconds after going over the post. On a good weather day you can see Mt Hood. The view in the fall time is amazing. When you are at the top, there is an observation area that you can sit and relax and take in the wonderful view. It was fun to sit and watch the tram go up and down.

Google
Great experience, the total round trip is only about 10 minutes. You can see the whole city from the top of the tram. Friendly staff.

Google
It's a 3 minute ride each way, with picturesque views of all of downtown Portland. And the Tilikum Crossing bridge is within walking distance, along with many various shops and restaurants. I highly recommend visiting and experiencing it for yourself.

Muneeb

Google
After having my share of gandola rides in Whistler, BC, this was underwhelming. However, for $5.10 it’s a fairly cheap way to get a view of the city. Be aware that the round trip is less than 10 mins so it’s a small ride but technology and the structure is sturdy and taken care of

Yelp
It was fun to see the city views! Definitely go on a clear day and head the wind. At certain points the tram sways a bit which is terrifying. We went mid day but i bet the sunset and after dark city views are amazing.

Yelp
If you're a first time visitor to the Portland area, you should definitely consider hopping on the Aerial Tram. And even if you've been here before, this is still a pretty fun and easy way to enjoy some great views of the city. It is a nice ride up, giving you fantastic panoramas of downtown, the river, and Mount Hood. And at the top, you have a very lovely observation deck full of fountains and trees to stroll through before you head back down. And at $8 per person, it is a fairly affordable thing to do, and one that I can say is quite thrilling for younger folks to experience. Maybe the biggest detraction to this attraction is that it is technically part of the OHSU campus, and so basically drops you in a hospital waiting room up top. It is also heavily used by doctors, staff, and patients, so be aware that this is not entirely just a tourist attraction. It also makes this a kind of small and quick stop on the sightseeing circuit, and is for sure not a spot you can spend a few hours. But there are some other fringe benefits to the tram, too. It is adjacent to some cool neighborhoods and gorgeous riverside walkways, and you can easily kill a chunk of time taking a stroll and grabbing some lunch in this part of town.

Yelp
The Portland Aerial Tram is a quick, scenic ride with fantastic views of the city, Mount Hood, and the Willamette River. It connects the South Waterfront to OHSU. She glides smoothly up Marquam Hill in just four minutes. At the top, an observation deck gives you an unbeatable photo opportunity. Takes 30 Minutes. Do it.

Yelp
Very chill attraction and a great way to see the area from a different point of view. It costs $8 round trip per person and the aerial tram deposits you at an outdoor viewing area that's part of the hospital. You'll see a lot of hospital personnel and other tourists taking the tram up and down, which is kind of a cool experience. It's like you're part of the bustle. From the tram and the viewing point, you can see a good number of Portland's bridges and how green everything is. And the viewing point is quaint as well. The water fountains are bird-shaped. It's nice and peaceful.

Yelp
Super fun, short trip for only $8.50 that gives you a great view of the city! Tram takes you to OHSU at the top of the hill which is fun if you're looking to spot someone in a white coat. I've visited Portland a few times- the tram is actually used by healthcare workers for commuting but doubles as a great activity for visitors. Would definitely recommend (but not if you're hungover - it swings)

Yelp
Great way to see the city of Portland along with the surrounding area from above, especially if it's a completely clear day! One round trip ticket costs $8 and I think it was well worth it since it was my first time visiting Portland :) We visited on a Saturday afternoon so it wasn't too busy and there was plenty of room for everyone in the tram car. The tram takes you all the way up to an OHSU hospital building, and there's a lovely terrace that you can access where you can bask in the beautiful views. Trams come by every few minutes so it's a pretty quick trip overall! The skies were clear when we visited so we could see both Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood -- very very cool!

Yelp
This is such a unique experience and worth a trip. Brought my kids here and they really enjoyed it. We just rode down from OHSU, turned right back around and rode back up the hill. It's a bit pricey in my opinion ($8.50 roundtrip), but other than that it's a great.
google avatar

Bryan N.

Yelp
Great experience. We drove up to the hospital during a regular work week and It wasn't too crowded.

Yelp
No, I wouldn't do this again. It was hard to get to, and not fun. Waste of time and effort.

Yelp
Short but fun ride up and down for a first time visitor with nothing to do in Portland, to get a panoramic view of Portland and even the 2 snowcapped mountains in the distance. Tickets $7 for age 7 and up I believe. Basically a tram for hospital folks up at the top of use, and for tourists like me to ride:) Had medical bio lab like cart on both rides up and down, so hospital makes good use of this tram to transport things to labs I guess. Trams will be either tourists who are excited to see the views or the workers at hospital who probably ride it multiple times a day so just a way to get up and down. I'm scared of heights, but the trip up and down was ok, these are pretty big tram. But when the tram goes past the tall pole that keeps the cables up, the tram will swing a bit and be momentarily unnerving, lol. But if I can ride it, anyone should be able to ride it. The landing on top leads directly into the hospital buildings, but there is small area on the sides where you can overlook the city and the surrounding areas from a high vantage point. Great way to start a trip to Portland. P.S. was able to find street parking in front of the tram at the bottom. Downloaded the Kitty parking app which made street parking around Portland easier, but noticed after 1 or 2 uses and comparing to the first parking paid at a meter, the service charge was double for the app. We are talking dime or two, but just be aware of the charges when parking. Kitty parking app has the advantage of extending the parking time away from the car, so that's useful when parking for a longer time without idea of how long you would actually need to be there. But for quick visit like a roundtrip on this tram, 1 hour was plenty of time to get tix, wait for tram to ride up, enjoy the views from up top, and ride back down.

Yelp
If you're visiting the city for the first time, this is a great activity to do to get a sense of what Portland and the surrounding area looks like from up high. Part of the medical school and used by staff and students, the Aerial Tram connects the two parts of campus and seems like it would save a lot of time rather than driving to the top of the mountain. The station is on river level and is easy to get to from downtown. Ticket stands are automated with roundtrip tickets costing $7. Wait times are reasonable, it runs consistently throughout the day. It's a calm ride, great for any age and ability (wheelchair and stroller accessible). The ride goes to the hospital at the top, with the station leading directly into the facility. We didn't want to venture inside; there's not much to do up there other than enjoy the view. After a bunch of photos, we took it back down. This is worth the cost and time for people new to Portland as it offers a great aerial view of the area.

Yelp
You can type "Portland Aerial Tram - Lower Terminal" into Google maps for directions and find street parking nearby (pay with the Parking Kitty app). We bought tickets from the booths ($8/ adult roundtrip). Fortunately, it was just us and another party in the tram going up. At 4:30pm in December, we the sunset and it was such a beautiful view. The ride is very short. At the top, you can enter the building (there are bathrooms). We caught the 2nd to last tram going down.
google avatar

Alex F.

Yelp
So fun for $8.50 round trip. If you are just coming for the ride be aware it is a lot of health workers using this as their commute to and from (its main purpose lol). But it's so fun especially if you time just right for sunset, and then you come down once the sun has set and get the view of the city at night. Def got to try for simple cute dopamine hit.
google avatar

Yelp
The tram travels 500 feet up the hill, from South Waterfront up to Marquam Hill, at 22 miles per hour. It's primarily for commuters to the Oregon Health & Sciences University, but it makes for a great activity for anyone! I've been wanting to go on the tram since I moved to Portland years ago, and with my mom visiting it was finally the perfect time. For just $7 round trip, the ticket is well worth it for the ride and the views. They're closed Sundays, so don't go then. Also don't go during typical rush hours either when everyone is going to work or ending their workday (unless you want to be crammed in with 78 other people). Instead, try the middle of the day or during a sunrise/sunset. It'll be best on a clear day so you can see as far at Mt Hood. Fun fact: the trams have names - Jean and Walt. Named after the first female engineering student and first African American to graduate from OSHU.
google avatar

Richa T.

Yelp
Pros: + Reasonable cost - $8 round trip + Great views of the city + Takes you straight to OHSU Cons: - Crowded tram - probably not worth it if you're short on time to a visit in Portland IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
A VERY cheap thrill! Just keep in mind that you are taking the Tram up to the hospital but the ride up is quick and the views are breathtaking! For under $10 you can take the ride up, and go straight down and that would be worth it. We walked around the hospital and got a few postcards from the gift shop. There are a couple of spots where you can grab a coffee and a small bite but it does feel a bit strange walking around a hospital. The rating is strictly for a ease of buying the ticket, short wait, smooth ride, and PHENOMENAL view of Portland. There's not much else around so plan accordingly. Local transit is nearby so you can ride in and leave in a decent time.
google avatar

Yelp
Who's genius idea was it to turn a mode of transport for OHSU students into a full-fledged tourist attraction (and one that would lead you into a hospital no doubt)! Bravo to you, my friend. This short and sweet aerial tram was a great way to spend a quiet evening admiring the views from the campus above. For $5.25, you obtain a roundtrip ticket up to the campus in search of some nice views of the city and Mt. Hood in the distance. The tram itself is fairly uneventful - there is a lot of open space for standing and viewing, but otherwise it's really a mode of transport for most individuals. When you reach the summit, you're allowed to roam the area a bit and see some of the garden artwork and sculptures as you continue admiring the view. We went on a beautiful sunny evening which made it worthwhile. If it happens to be raining on the day you intend to visit, I'd reconsider since you wouldn't see much anyway. Tip: Bring some snacks for a picnic when you reach the top. There's a lot of wonderful sitting area where you can spend some time chillin' and reminiscing about life. The tram is served by many Tri-Met trains and busses and is about a 5-7 minute walk from the main waiting area for these modes of transport.
google avatar

Marissa N.

Yelp
Here's your chance to view the city of Portland! I would recommend if its your first time visiting Portland and have 30mins or less to spare, to go on the aerial tram. We parked inside the parking garage of the OHSU hospital and made our way to the tram. There's a self serve screen to purchase a ticket (tickets are $7 round-trip). Once you get your ticket, the tram will take you up the hill that connects to the other OHSU primary care clinic. The ride takes less than 3 mins to get to the other side. From the top of the hill you can see the beautiful, lush horizon of Portland, and on a sunny day, you can see Mt. Hood! You can have a little lunch there since there's some tables (do keep in mind, there are OHSU workers there eating peacefully so please be respectful and quiet when you visit!). After that you can take the tram back down the hill. There's honestly much to do except to see the viewing of the city. But a fun thing to do when you want to kill some time.

Yelp
This was a great experience. I am staying in Pearl Street and took the NS trolley which was only two dollars down to the tram station. It was easy to get my ticket and it was a short wait for the tram to come. On the way up I stood on the back of the tram and on the way down I stood in the front so I got to experience the ride on both sides. When you get to the top you were actually entering the hospital facility, so make sure you have a mask. Just before the hospital entrance you make a right and there's a terrace that you can go on to see the view which is absolutely beautiful. I decided to just sit for a few minutes and take it all in. The round-trip ticket is only a little over five dollars and kids are free. It's a worthwhile experience while visiting Portland.
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
A cool spot for quick view of Portland. Cost is $7 per passenger and the ride is 5-10 minutes one way. Ire at the top is very cool as there is an observation deck at the top. There are street options and paid parking options all around the block.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
Very fun little thing to do in Portland. Scenic overlook was nice. Very short trips, but nice way to see some scenery.
google avatar

Joaquin F.

Yelp
First, be aware that this is NOT designed as a scenic tram ride through Portland. It IS a heavily used part of Portland's public transportation system that also offers a quick but excellent view of the city and surrounding region. Like all US public transportation, it can get crowded, smelly, and hot. Go expecting to pay ~$8 for a five minute tram ride that might offer great views that you might miss because you ended up with your face crammed into some med student's armpit for the whole ride and you will feel like it exceeded your expectations. However, if you go expecting something like the aerial tram ride through Walt Disneyworld or Zootopia, you will end up writing a Yelp review like this one.
google avatar

Carissa C.

Yelp
so pretty! very quick ride. inside smelled a bit like urine, so we're knocking a star. would recommend if you're in the area
google avatar

Areej A.

Yelp
Okay this was so beautiful indeed. I think my only issues with it is that the hospital staff and the patients use it to go up and down for their work or appointments. I think it should stay strictly used by the hospital staff and the patients cuz can you imagine if the dr needs to be at the other side within the 4 min and he/she needs to wait in line for the tourist like myself to get a turn.
google avatar

Lea S.

Yelp
I saw this on a list of things to do in Portland and thought it was a neat idea since we def don't have these here in Houston; flat lands and all unfortunately :/ I had read the directions on the official website (gobytram.com), but I'm a bit directionally challenged. Blessings that my boyfriend is better than I am with that and was able to find some paid street parking by the Go By Bike Shop. From here, it was a short walk to the tram station. They have self-serve machines that give easy to read directions on how to purchase tickets, and if you still need help, there is an attendant nearby to assist when needed. I believe it was $5.65 for a one-time roundtrip ticket that you're able to use on the day of purchase. We went around 6:30 pm, and there weren't too many people clamoring to get on. Just a few visitors and medical professionals. The ride itself was smooth, and you get some gorgeous views to look at when you ascend! We were even able to see Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens though I def can't tell you which is which. It was a great stop for our Portland tour!
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Taking a ride on the aerial tram was a truly delightful experience. On a clear day, you can get a phenomenal view of the city, Mt. Hood, the Willamette, and more. The ride to and from the terminals is brief, but long enough to snap some great photos. But the great photo opportunities don't end when the ride ends - the best photos I took were from the outdoor balcony area at OHSU. We went on a Saturday outside of peak riding hours (approx. 3pm), and did not encounter any crowds. Our rides to and from OHSU had no more than 10 people on the tram, which was very pleasant. However, keep in mind that the tram is not just for tourists/adventurers - it is a mode of transportation for OHSU, so you may encounter students, staff, patients, etc. during your journey. While the ride is enjoyable, it can be a bit wobbly at times, especially during the ascent. Don't worry, though - there's a rail to hold onto! The aerial tram is definitely worth the visit, in my opinion, and I would love to visit again!
google avatar

Steven W.

Yelp
This Portland Aerial Tram can be used as a tourist ride, but it is mainly used for medical workers from top campus to bottom campus. It is about $5.65 for a roundtrip. At the top there is a sky deck observation at the hospital. The tram does not have AC but it can fit a lot of people and the driver was very kind.
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
Great way to see an amazing view of the city for under $6 (roundtrip). You get to the top in about 5 mins. Only thing I wished for was access to a restroom since you're not allowed into the hospital bldg at the summit (or so we were told).
google avatar

Sadig A.

Yelp
If you're ever in Portland, you've got to ride the tram... you'll get some awesome views of the city and it's really affordable. It takes you up the hill to some medical buildings then down back to where you've parked. Highly recommend if this is your first time enjoying Portland :)
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
There're only a handful of aerial trams in the US and Portland is lucky to be home to one! The ticket price is $5.10 roundtrip (free for OHSU employees), which takes you from the South Waterfront up to OHSU Hospital while you see a breathtaking 360 degrees view of the city and Mt. Hood backdrop. While you're up at the hospital (Marquam Hill), there are plenty of view points to take pictures of the city. I recommend panoramic. For those who are afraid of heights, the aerial tram's speed is 22mph and is very steadily. However, there is an inflection point at the top of the Center for Health and Healing building, where it sways a bit. There's usually an automatic announcement to riders to warn them of this. The wait time is a very quick 3-5mins to get on and the ride lasts around 1-2 mins. Each tramway car fits around 25 passengers, which has been limited to around 10 during Covid. A great attraction to visit, if you're coming from out of town, to see one of the best views of Portland.
google avatar

Jason V.

Yelp
Incredible views of the city on this short ride up or down from OHSUs main hospital/campus at the top, to the Center for Health and Healing buildings at the bottom. My wife works in Dermatology, sonwe are frequently here, and our rides on the tram are free, but I think it's $4 per person for a round trip. Acrophobes will not enjoy the ride, though.
google avatar

Aejin H.

Yelp
One of the best views of Portland can be had for $5 on this aerial tram. The tram is extremely quiet and smooth. There is a point in the middle where it sways pretty moderately. A couple of chairs and poles are available for the 5 minute ride. Masks are required on the ride.
google avatar

Steven N.

Yelp
Definitely a cool experience to check out at night! This roughly 5 minute ride one way host a great view of Portland that rides from one end to the OHSU campus to the main OHSU hospital. It was originally designed for students due to not having a lot of parking lots at the main hospital, but opening it up to the public definitely allows everyone the chance to enjoy it. It costs roughly $5 to ride it round trip, but it's honestly due to them charging to go from the wellness center to main hospital. If you want a free one way trip, go from the hospital to the wellness center. They stated that that one way trip is free. If you got the time, check it out, especially at night!
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
You can take public transportation to this site or find street parking. The round trip cost of using the tram is $5/person. The view is well worth it. There are two trams continuously running so you only have a 5 minute wait until the next tram. The top of the site belongs to a hospital with a spectacular view. They have an outdoor seating area. I love this view.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're curious about viewing 360 degrees high in the sky, catching a glimpse of city life in Portland, and/or need a quick transport to OHSU, this is the happening place. Best to check their website for fares and plan or decide on your options. We're lucky to have found street metered parking between one to two blocks away. We paid for one hour parking just in case lines were long. Best part was the staff honored valid military IDs meaning our one-way or round trip ride is free. We didn't see any visuals or visible signs near or around the tram. Walk up to the front and show valid military IDs to staff. We decided to surprise our son with this experience during non-peak hours. He asked so many different questions throughout our ride that the lady next to us chuckled. We're very happy to ride on a sky tram even though one-way ride lasts a few minutes. One-way transportation will stop on same level en route to OHSU. Round trip aerial tram will end where we first began. Great way of experiencing a different mode of transportation! Thank you Portland, Oregon.
google avatar

Becky K.

Yelp
Note: You only pay for the ride up. Buy your tickets at the bottom near the entrance line. You will give your ticket to the attendant and not need anything to ride back down. This is a quick ride with a nice view. At the top you can walk over to the hospital's balcony area and look out at the mountain range and the city below. I would only go if it's a nice clear day. Otherwise you won't see anything and it wouldn't be worth your time. I'm glad we rode the tram. It was a pretty clear day and this was a fun little stop to make.

Victorious K.

Yelp
Beautiful views. Nice staff and well worth the $7! The observation point offers a wonderful panoramic view. You'll enjoy it.
google avatar

Judith M.

Yelp
Super fun! $5 round trip. Best view of Rivers, town & Mt Hood & St Helena. Walk from there to pedestrian bridge for a great cheap day trip of some of Portland's best areas. Then pick up one of those orange Nike bikes and ride back downtown!)
google avatar

Sandra R.

Yelp
Very short ride but is worth the experience if you're in Portland. You park and walk up to the Tram. It's about $6 for round trip. The ride is literally 5 mins long. But the views are breath taking. It drops you have at a hospital, where you can get off and take some pictures for the views Then you hop right back on when you're ready to go back and that's another 5 mins of Portland views. There's restaurant around the tram so if you wanted to grab a bite to eat so it doesn't seem like you just drove all the way over there for a 10 min experience

Yelp
I did my own version of the Portland 4 T's transportation modes around town and jumped on the Sky Tram for the quick three minute ride. Bummer, I found out later I double paid since I already had an all day Metro pass. However, hey, for five bucks? Who cares? It was so worth it! It is a short ride and used mostly by hospital staff to go back and forth between the university building and the hospital so I was kind of the only non staff member on the Tram. The driver was like perplexed for a short, hot moment. "You are not getting off? Can you say tourist Mary sticking out like a sore thumb here? Hahahaha! Lol Nice guy. In fact, all the workers here are great. In double fact, Portland has a great transit system that I wish PHX had. Portland, for the most part, is a friendly city. One bus driver even told me to hop on and gave me a free ride when I realized I crossed the water too far for the tram stop. Pretty cool view and like another reviewer said, probably a super cool thing to do at night.
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
$5 to see Portland and the mountains. The tram is such a great deal. The hospital is a nice structure too. There's an area where you can take some pictures and sit and enjoy the view. It isn't really high up but it's a good hill view. Other than the view, there's nothing much to do once you get in top. If you don't want to pay, you can walk about 1.5 miles up the hill to the hospital. Tram was nice and clean.
google avatar

Liza M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite activities to do as a tourist. For $4.55 a roundtrip up to OHSU portland campus and back down to the main station is totally worth the money. One activity you can do that is really cheap. The views are exceptional awesome from riding the tram to arriving to the top of the hill. You can see most of the city of portland and the different bridges that connect between NW and SW to NE and SE Portland across the Willamette river. Mount hood can seen from afar. The pay station is at the bottom of SW Portland near the OHSU bottom campus buildings. Give your receipt to the tram operator once you enter the tram. There are two small seating areas in each tram but most people stand. They do warn you when getting past the pedestrian walkway bridge, the tram will swing so hold on tight. Give it a try, you will not regret it. I can promise you as a previous resident of Oregon. It's pretty spectacular :)

Yelp
This review is for **tourists**.This tram seems like a quick, inexpensive thing to do in Portland...and it is. After $2 parking and $10 more for two tickets, plus a five minute ride each way, we were only out $12 and 30 minutes. I read lots of reviews beforehand, and I understood the main focus of the tram is transportation to the hospital. However, we were still quite underwhelmed. I'm sure the tram serves its purpose splendidly, but it I would not recommend this as a "sight-seeing" activity, as many others are doing. Here's why: First of all, the view is just ok. Second, there is nothing to do once you reach the top except stand there for a second and then head back. Third, it took us longer to find parking, pay and walk to the tram than the entire experience itself and lastly, the tram is packed full of people so you may not get a view and it was uncomfortably warm when we went in May. Unless you are out of things to see, spend your time elsewhere.

Yelp
My friend and I cycled here because we really wanted to see what Portland looked like from up above. I was also intrigued--I'm use to taking cable cars in foreign countries or perhaps the mountains. Although, my friend lives here it was their first time as well as mine here in Portland. We were both super stoked. We purchased our tickets in the machine which was super easy and user friendly. Round trip tickets will cost you $4.70 that is not bad at all. The ride merely takes a whopping four minutes roughly. The ride was smooth and at the end there is a dip. The houses underneath are spectacular but I felt like a peeping tom looking down lol--so I kept my head up :) We got there just in time before they close at 930pm. We did not get off cable car we simply hopped on and hopped off.

Yelp
Fun little tram ride up south end of Portland into the teaching hospital on the hill. For under $5 you get a ride both ways. On the trip up the tram swings a bit, giving a fun moment with amazing views. Take a walk inside the hospital- the views and the architecture are incredible.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to ride this tram for fun. It was a short ride but you got to see spectacular views of the whole city. The tram led us right to a university and hospital. It was $5.10 for one person. The ride was smooth for the most part. The tram shook a bit when we got to the top. A few people got nervous but it wasn't scary. Unless you're scared of heights... They had two seats in the tram. Most people stood. I would come here to take pictures of the city. It's beautiful.

Yelp
I had myself all sorts of convinced I would freak out, lose it or genuinely pass out. So, it was not until yesterday that I actually climbed aboard the Tram. Some friends were in from out of town and a group of us went up together (one of our friends works up there so he grabbed us passes to ride). I was determined to do it and the second that thing started moving I realized how silly I was to freak out about it to begin with. It was a smooth ride and quite lovely to see such a unique view of our gorgeous city! You should do it once. Maybe take a lesson from us. We grabbed some delicious take out, rode to the top and had lunch overlooking the city up at OHSU. It was a lovely afternoon especially with the stunning day!

Yelp
I'm appreciative of the tram because they allowed my ESA onboard. It wasn't too hard to find paid parking down the street from the lower boarding area, but we also got lucky. Buying tickets was straightforward at the kiosk, so we did that. The line wasn't too long. Thus, the tram wasn't too crowded. Everyone was quiet on the way up for the most part, maybe because it was a little toasty inside. The view was lovely but not phenomenal. Strangely, my favorite part was the hospital at the top of the tram line. All in all as a Portland tourist, I wasn't super impressed by this attraction. I wouldn't do it again or recommend it, but I had a positive experience overall. The tram operators were nice, and the tram itself was clean. Thankful for the memory!

Yelp
Pretty cool aerial tram, we didn't realize it is a transportation method for the hospital so the observation deck on both sides of the tram dock is quite small but not really a observation deck. I have 3 stars because you still get the aerial view and for $4.90 a person it's not bad at all, however some more info on what the deck was overlooking would be useful or something of the sort. Recommend if you got some time to kill but nothing to go out of way for. Check out Portland city grill for more comfortable and better views and good drinks especially during their happy hour.
