It was an amazing last minute connection with a childhood friend at our hometown "Southampton African American Museum" she is the Founder/Executive Director, who filled a lot of unknown history of our ancestors that helped build in Southampton Long Island and surrounding counties. Got a wonderful opportunity to run by Mr Randy Conquest, one of the former owners of this Historic Landmark in Southampton, NY

I was really looking forward to visiting the museum for this trip. We arrived at quarter to 1 pm on Saturday to a closed museum, lights off and no one answering the phone; just a long outgoing message about all the amazing exhibits located in the museum. It was not a holiday weekend. If the museum doesn't get a lot of visitors, might I suggest that a reservation system is implemented so that staff would only need to be there when guests are expected. Very disappointed.

Our family visited this gem of a museum a few weeks ago. It's an intimate space that makes great use of every square inch as well as technology to provide a rich experience. Our two college agers found it engaging.
