I recently ordered from Southern Comfort Restaurant via Grubhub, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. We placed our order at 4:45 PM, but our food didn't arrive until 6:46 PM—nearly two hours later. When we called the restaurant, we were informed that someone had already picked up our food. However, it took another hour before our food finally arrived, with several changes in drivers according to updates. This confusion and delay were very frustrating.
When the food did arrive, over half of our order was missing. Every meal was supposed to come with two sides, but none of the macaroni and cheese we ordered was included. The restaurant didn’t inform us that they were out of mac and cheese, which was really disappointing.
Regarding the quality of the food, the pork chops were over-fried and almost devoid of meat. The collard greens were served whole, making them difficult and uncomfortable to eat. While the flavor was acceptable, the presentation was not. Additionally, our fried chicken had burn marks all over it, suggesting old grease was used for frying.
On a positive note, the green beans were delicious, and the cornbread was excellent.
A few days ago, we ordered from Southern Comfort, and they forgot to include shrimp in our order, but the food was good, which is why we decided to give them another chance. Sadly, this time was even more unsatisfactory. For now, I would recommend visiting the restaurant in person rather than relying on delivery, as our delivery experience has been inconsistent and frustrating. Waiting for nearly two hours and not receiving all of our food is unacceptable, especially when you're hungry.
We hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously to improve their delivery service and food quality.
