We went here for my birthday and arrived when the dinner shift started at 4pm to avoid the crowds because my mother has cancer and we try to limit contact with others. Unfortunately we were there for 2 hours because the service was so slow and it got very crowded after a while. Our waitress was nice, but I don't think she went over the specials again when the rest of our party showed. I was supper excited to get hush puppies. The last time I ate really delish ones were in Hilton Head SC over 10 years ago. I was disappointed because there were some peppers (maybe jalapeños) mixed in, and it ruined it for me, but my sister in law liked them. My mom got a roasted chicken dish, which she really enjoyed replacing collard greens with spinach. My brother got chicken n waffles, which he liked a lot, and my sister in law got Jambalaya, which she raved about. My dad and I both got shrimp n grits, which my dad devoured. I enjoyed them, but for the first time, I felt something had too much cheese, and it felt too rich for me. My mom got beignets, which were yummy, and my brother and I got a chocolate cake, which was not what I thought the cake would look like but was good. I also got a drink called The "X"perience and was very delicious. My mom was upset because she told the waitress it was my birthday so they could put a candle on my dessert, but they must have forgotten and no one sang. The prices were high for me to completely not love everything I ate. I'm not sure if I would return. Maybe for a drink and beignets.
