We had an amazing stay at the Southern Palms Hotel. Our accommodation was spotless and comfortable, and the sea view from our room was absolutely stunning – so picturesque and relaxing.||All of the staff were incredibly hard-working and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Johanna in the restaurant deserves a special mention – she’s exceptional, always smiling, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Michaela, who looked after us by the pool, was also fantastic. In fact, every single member of staff we met went above and beyond – we really can’t fault anyone.||This was our first time staying here, but it certainly won’t be our last. We noticed that many of the guests we spoke to were returning visitors, which really speaks volumes about the hotel and the team. We’ll definitely be back in a couple of years!

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for the incredible service and care you and your team gave us during our stay — especially for Isabel’s 18th! Everything was perfect — the location of the room, the atmosphere, and the warmth from all the staff at Southern Palms.||||A special mention also to your newest team member, Michaela — she was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. We’re so grateful for everything you did to make this week unforgettable. Sorry we didn’t get to say goodbye in person today, but please know how much we appreciate you all.||||We’ll be sure to leave lots of glowing reviews, and we absolutely plan to be back again soon. To top off an already amazing trip, we even got to experience baby turtles hatching at midnight — we helped save around 50 of them! 🐢✨||Was so lovely the staff remembered us from last year also. Please pass this on the restaurant staff too as Izzy really didn’t miss not being home your staff went all out and the cake too. The staff decorated the area and the band even sang to her.. We made amazing memories with your staff :)||The suit was perfect and clean and comfy real home from home. Seconds away from the white sands. Food was great and service was always great with a smile. ||Sandy is great and always around to help and this guy never stops. ||We will be back again. |Thanks to Kelly and her amazing team 🥳

Return visit and we love the hotel. The rooms are clean, and there is complete pride in all the work the staff do. The selling feature of this hotel is the beach….. it’s amazing, I could spend all day watching the sea (and hopefully the sea turtles). Michaela was brilliant and a real credit to the hotel , and the new feature of the flags on the beach when you need something ;is one that I love!! David is great at the water sports but, and cherry -Ann (housekeeping) couldn’t do enough when getting us more hangers! It was great to see many of the staff the same as before. ||The speed of breakfast if ordering of the menu is hit and miss…. Some days it’s quick some days it’s incredibly slow! ||We are looking at returning again in May.

We have recently returned from another wonderful holiday at The Southern Palms Hotel . This was our third visit and did not disappoint. The hotel has a laid back vibe right on the beautiful Dover beach . There are no umbrellas on the beach because turtles lay their eggs beneath the sand and the nests are protected but there are lovely palm trees for shade and a flag system ensures you are never without a drink . |Breakfast is a leisurely affair with a wonderful view of the beach .There is a good choice of food including a great juice made from spinach and fruit . Omelettes and eggs of every type are made freshly and staff serve tea and coffee . |We had a suite with a side sea view which was spacious and kept spotlessly clean with great air con . We feel welcome each time we go back and would not want this charactful hotel to change and become ultra modern . |Sunday lunch is a highlight , a buffet accompanied by a Steele band right next to the beach, Just fantastic . The food in general is good although there can be a wait to be served . Jo Anna is particularly welcoming and friendly always smiling and helpful she clearly enjoys her job . |The turtles in the sea and the baby hatchlings on the beach make this place very special we will be back again .

Excellent location, very nice clean room with a partial sea view. Beautiful beach, we saw turtles hatching. Staff all very pleasant and location perfect whilst feeling very safe. My only criticism is the sunlounger situation. Some people reserve beds from 6am and then don’t sit on them for hours. Please buy more umbrellas and beds so that they’re laid out similar to le Roy next door. Would definitely recommend this hotel if this is fixed.

My husband and I spent our first holiday to Barbados at the Southern Palms. Whilst the room (318) was a wee bit dated, it was perfectly adequate for our needs with a lovely big terrace with a partial sea view. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of wardrobe space, but a few more hangers would be useful. There was maid service every day, although I'm not sure how much more than wiping around the bathroom and making the bed they did. There were dirt marks under the bathroom sink that were there for the 2 weeks we were in the room. Maybe it was the marks from the mop! The pool area was spotless with around 14-16 sunbeds at the main pool, with one parasol per two beds. Unfortunately, this meant claiming a pair of beds early or there were none left. There were also a number of hotel sunbeds available on the beach and we did make use of them on a couple of occasions. The only issue with this is that the palm trees then need to be used for shade as there are no hotel parasols on the beach. There was some maintenance work being done on the main restaurant roof which caused some noise but was not overbearing, and we'd been made aware of it the week before by British Airways Holidays. The Reception Staff were helpful and very pleasant, on one occasion, however, my husband questioned the bill and the staff member was a bit rude. The hotel had happy hour every evening from 6.00-7.00 pm, 2 for one on selected cocktails. Oh my goodness, service was slow. Not just everyday Bajan slow, way slower than that. If you don't want customers to make use of Happy Hour, then don't have it. It was difficult to get more than one order of drinks in the 60 minutes. Keep in mind we were there in September and the hotel most definitely was not busy. Whilst this was frustrating, at least the bar staff were relatively pleasant. Water bottles could be filled throughout the day at the bar which was extremely useful (Barbados tap water is delicious). ||We ate in the restaurant once, for their lobster special. $85 bbd per person, we were not impressed by the meal, it wasn't badly cooked, but portion size for the cost was disappointing. We didn't eat in the hotel again after this. ||We didn't catch much of the entertainment, we watched a bit of the steel band one night and singers another night, I'm not sure if there was anything else on during our stay. The bar seemed to close early for a hotel bar, most nights by 10.30, so coming back in from a meal etc there was no option for a night cap, this may have been due to the time of year. ||The location of the hotel is excellent with nice restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. ||I would suggest it would be helpful for customers staying on a room only basis if some cutlery and dishes were supplied, not quite self-catering but helpful to have. ||All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely return to Barbados and quite possibly to Southern Palms.

Visited the Southern Palms hotel at the end of September, we had a brilliant holiday and are already looking to return to the hotel. We arrived at 12:30 and were shown to our room straight away which was great after a long flight. We had a Pool View room and although a bit basic it was very clean with a great bed and even better view from the Balcony.||The pool area is very nice and relaxing, the only thing to comment on is people reserving loungers and then not using them for large parts of the day, a common problem not unique to this hotel but people really do treat those loungers as their own property and reserve them from 5am etc, ridiculous.||Food and drinks in the restaurant were excellent and really good value, the staff also where very good and friendly.||The hotel is the best situated in the gap, right on the best beach which is on your doorstep but also convenient for the local bars and restaurants.||Already looking to return in 2027.
