We stayed here for our honeymoon in August 2025 and it was amazing. Lovely rooms, great staff and right on the beach. Awesome sunsets too. Never ate here as like to try different places but there are nice restaurants and cafes nearby. Got the local bus most days into Bridgetown which was only 3.50 Barbados dollars each way. Crazy drivers but good fun. Everyone so friendly. We also caught the bus to Oistins fish fry on the Friday night. Great food, music and drinks.

We had a wonderful stay at Southern Palms Beach Club (beach-view suite). The suite was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a kitchen with all the basic essentials and two bathrooms—making it incredibly convenient. While the interior had a more traditional, older style, everything was impeccably clean. What really made our stay exceptional was the staff. Their attentiveness and consistently positive attitude created a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout our visit. The vibe of the entire resort was laid-back and friendly, perfect for a relaxing beach vacation. A special highlight was the live music performances on some nights, which added a festive and memorable touch to our stay. Enjoying great music with the ocean breeze in the background made those evenings truly magical.

This was our second stay at Southern Palms and we have booked for next year too!||It really is our happy place! Brilliantly situated on St Lawrence Gap lovely and quiet yet within walking distance of plenty of bars and restaurants. ||The staff have worked there years and all so lovely. The weekly managers rum punch party each Monday is fabulous and a lovely way to chat to other guests. The rum punch and fish cakes are delicious! We loved happy hour every day too and the times we did eat at the hotel, the food was delicious.||Towels for sun beds are provided every day you simply change them and the young man that runs the water sports etc is brilliant!||The beach is beautiful and grounds, if you want to relax and unwind from day to day life you won’t get much better!||We stay in the supersaver rooms which work well for us. We are only sleeping in there, there’s maid service every day, air con etc. ||Thank you to the management and staff once again and we look forward to seeing you all May 2026.||We just have one issue - it’s so good we keep going back instead of trying different places but Barbados has stolen our hearts since we got married on Dover Beach in 2003 xx

After having a wonderful holiday last year we rebooked directly with the hotel to go again. Whilst we still enjoyed the beach front location, general ambience of the hotel, and the service from most of the staff, we were somewhat upset that no one had contacted us from reservations regarding the works to the restaurant, which carried on each day, including weekends, and as our ocean view room was just across the way caused us some disturbance. Those that had rooms further from the pool/restaurant to be fair probably did not suffer the same noise.|When we arrived we received notice in the form of a letter stating that the works were being carried out and unlike other guests who had booked vis tour operators this was the first we heard of it. Now don’t get me wrong the maintenance was absolutely necessary to ensure the structure was sound, but it was particularly galling that others who had booked via tour operators had in some instances, the opportunity to change hotels, and had done so, whether we would have done remains an open question. Booking directly we had the right to cancel our stay up to 7 days beforehand without penalty, you can call me cynical but was this a ploy by the hotel not to lose the booking, because at the time there was availability with many other hotels on the Island. We got a complimentary cocktail and was told by the Management that they would look into the reason we hadn’t been informed and heard nothing more, that just about says it all.|We won’t be staying again and a word of warning to others DO NOT BOOK DIRECT as it seems the tour operators have a better attitude towards customer service.

Just come back from a great holiday at the Southern Palms - had a fantastic time. It’s in a brilliant location on the beach with a great array of bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis. Breakfast was buffet style and had a great selection. Eggs cooked to your preference by the chef were really good. Service throughout the hotel was super friendly and relaxed like it is all over the island. Special mentions to Ken at breakfast and Latoya at the bar. Both amazing with our little boy!! Our room was on the ground floor and we paid for extra space for the cot. The room had plenty of space, storage and had a really comfy bed. Is traditionally decorated and a little old but had everything we needed and we found the room to be perfect for what we needed. The staff make this place great. Would highly recommend and we will definitely stay again here.

We stayed at the Southern Palms in June for our honeymoon, this was our 4th stay at this hotel. I was proposed to here on the balcony of our room in January 2023, so we just HAD to come back for our honeymoon.||The hotel is set in beautiful grounds along side Dover Beach. ||We had a garden view room with views over one of the two swimming pools, the beach and the entertainment area/bar||The room has all you need, a huge bed, wardrobe, dressing table, safe, air con, a shower in the bathroom. We could not hear any noise from the nearby bars, the only sounds we could hear were the waves lapping on the shore and the whistling frogs, perfect to us.||The balcony furniture has been changed, we used to like to sit at the table & chairs on the balcony & play cards & have a drink & food, but the new table does not facilitate this as it is more like a small coffee table, but hey, we managed||The staff are friendly & smiley, in the most. Service can be slow at the bar, especially on a Sunday lunchtime when the steelpan band are playing and during happy hour, this time of year, happy hour was not as bad as it was when we have stayed in January. The whole island is a lot quieter in June/July||We spent our days relaxing by the pool, overlooking the beautiful beach & sea, we made some wonderful friends, pool towels are changed at the sports hut & the boys who work there are really lovely & kind & funny, they also have a few sunbed mattresses you can use during your stay||The hotel has quite a few repeat guests & I would suggest the majority of guests are older, just like us||The hotel is in walking distance of the end of the Gap & there are always taxis outside if you need a ride somewhere||There is live entertainment a few evenings a week, along with the Sunday lunchtime steel pan band||The pink hotel definitely suits our needs & we will be back again||Enjoy your stay

So here I am back in the UK after 14 days at the Southern Palms resort just off the Lawrence gap.|Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to all the staff there for making my stay absolutely amazing, especially as this is my first trip to Barbados solo but my seventh trip in total.|For travellers, I will always recommend an ocean view however from what I gather of other guests staying at the resort all the rooms are in very good order|This was my second time at this resort and I think the main feature of the resort is the fact that it’s so spread out in some beautiful well-maintained grounds and again my heart off to all the maintenance and gardening teams to make it look so beautiful|My package was room only so that gave me the flexibility of eating at a number of locations within the gap, but the meals I did have at the resort were very tasty and quite a wide variety of choice, particularly with the all day menu|No doubt travellers would’ve noticed comments about the seaweed that turns up every now and again and when I arrived yes there was quite a bit on the shoreline and further up towards Dover Beach however as I’ve experienced over the years the beach and the sea has a habit of reclaiming itself and by the end of the holiday I was still able to go for a really nice swim. One thing I will say about the beaches in general, but especially at Southern Palms is the way that not only the visitors and the gas but everyone respects the beaches it’s quite astonishing really the amount of visitors the island does get and how well the beaches are kept in pristine condition even in the most locations. Coming from the UK it’s very frustrating seeing how the visitors to the seaside resort in the UK treat The beaches like rubbish dumps perhaps I could learn some lessons from Barbados.||I did quite a bit of travelling around. I hide a car as I normally do this time. I’ve got a little GPS which really did help as most travellers will note the signposting is not very good but it’s still great fun driving around the island and it’s safe as well.. I used to drive-a-matic this time and their service was really good with the pick up and drop off at the hotel.|I managed to get round most of the hotspots rascals fisherman’s pub bats rock Thunder Bay sharks hole and many many other places I think that’s the fun of exploring the island. You never know what’s round the corner the only disappointment was the caboose wasn’t open on the two times I passed there that just means I’ll have to come back to the island and try it again. |I also did a day trip down to savvy on the bay, which was a great day out. It was $30.B and the bus picks you up and drop you off at a convenient time for yourselves. Will you get a lounger and an umbrella? The sea is absolutely stunning and the food trucks are absolutely amazing as well as the bar obviously.. they really do know how to look after you down there and it’s a highly recommended visit.|As I mentioned, I spent a bit of time in the Lawrence gap and basically I started up at Café Sol and worked my way down , but always might go to place was sharkys , I have a lovely team of staff down there really friendly the food is good and the drinks keep coming. What more can you ask for?|Another little point was there is a couple of convenience stores quite close by there is the Dover market where you turn right from the resort and it’s about a 10 minute walk down there however there is another smaller market just before you get to Sharkey’s where the prices are quite reasonable if you just want a small amount of Food and drink for your room. Of course you can always get a further trip bus or a taxi up to the Massey stores.|So overall Barbados did not disappoint but I would like to say a big thank you to a lot of the staff at the resort Jenny and Stephen in the reception David the sports guy and many many others who made my stay there memorable so once again thank you very much, and I will be returning without a doubt
