Southern Palms Beach Club & Resort Hotel

The most incredible location! Hotel is nestled right in the middle of an abundance of fabulous bars and restaurants. The area feels safe and everybody is friendly from street vendors to locals. The hotel does have a restaurant and the food is great but if you fancy a change try 'Crave' or 'Mimosa' just a few mins walk away. ||We also really loved 'Pure Ocean' and had a gorgeous meal but also took advantage of happy hour there in the afternoons. This is the next building along from the hotel so is accessible by the beach. ||The rooms were clean and had plenty of storage. The shower was powerful and easy to use and the towels were changed every day. ||Our room looked right out on to the smaller pool and the beach which was beautiful but I will say that being so close to the 'Chattel House' area meant that we were able to hear the live music until around midnight but this is no fault of the hotels. ||The staff at the hotel were incredible. Mekaela at the bar and restaurant was just so attentive and we really appreciated her and the other members of the team during our stay.||Kelly, the general manager, made us feel so welcome along with all of the other members of staff.||The beach is the absolute highlight here. Not one bit overcrowded, it is clean and well kept. The sand and sea looks like a postcard.||We already can't wait to come back 🤍

After an unfortunate stay at the Rostrevor down the street over Christmas, I walked to Southern Palms where Jenni, the receptionist was fantastic with accommodating a booking for me on the spot with the few days I had left in my trip. My room was ready in about 30 mins. A basic room but clean with everything you need. Balcony is very large, and mine was a garden and ocean view, could not complain. The wait staff were fantastic and would bring you drinks to the pool or the beach, you can charge things to your room so you don’t need to worry about having cash on you. The beach is simply amazing, so much space and many many chairs available. Hotel provided great entertainment as well. Would absolutely return here again.||Well done Southern Palms team!

Just returned from southern palms and wow what a fantastic hotel. I requested a room with a great view for a friend who hasn't been abroad for many years and celebrating a big birthday they provide us with a beach front room just steps from the beach couldn't have been any better, thank you so much for that. Staff all friendly from cleaners to security and all the others in between. Water is provided all day by the pool ,definitely needed . The beds and pillows are so comfortable and air con is fantastic. Had a welcome gift on arrival in our room which was a lovely touch along with tea coffee and juice in fridge wasn't expecting that but really appreciated it. Restaurant has a good selection of food from breakfast to evening meals and I thought it was very reasonably priced.plenty of sun loungers around and about and on the beach. If you have a lounger on the beach they give you a flag to wave if you want anything they bring it to you, brilliant. really Can't fault this hotel I will definitely be back. It's sat on dover beach which is my favourite.

Southern Palms is an excellent Hotel with so many fabulous facilities and it is really great location. In fact it’s so good we will|Definitely be returning next year. Whilst the rooms are not luxurious they are exactly what we expected on our first trip here, as per the brochure pictures, but are immaculately cleaned each day. I do have one gripe though and that is the service at the beach/pool bar restaurant. You can wait up to an hour for a drink and giving a food order. Not sure how long you have to wait for food as we gave up the 3 times we tried to eat there. Happy hour never seemed that happy as people waited so long to get served. If they got there act together that could keep more customers happy and make more profit. |That said we made other arrangements and in the end it would not deter us from coming back but it improve the overall experience if they could sort this out and then I could give 5 stars.

My first trip to Barbados and the Southern Palms exceeded expectations. The rooms and resort were very clean. The air conditioning was good. The resort is right on the beach and you can wake up in the morning walk 10 steps and be in the ocean. The beach is beautiful with soft white sand and the water is clear and warm. The beach was not crowded, even though it was Christmas and New Year’s. There was always available cots and shade from a palm tree. |The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food at the restaurant was average and not cheap, but there are many restaurants and places to grab a quick bite within walking distance.|When I go back to Barbados, I will definitely stay at the Southern Palms again.

The positives are its location as it’s on a beautiful white sandy beach, st Lawrence gap is a few minutes away with lots of restaurants and bars. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, always willing to assist you. Our room was in one of the newer buildings and was light and airy, it had a sea view over a roof, however, there was a large air conditioning unit outside which was very noisy, which made sitting on the balcony uncomfortable, (room 209). The breakfast Buffett was great, delicious, fresh choices. |The negatives, the slow service in the a la carte resturant and the bar, usually only one bar person making the drinks, it usually took half an hour to get 4 drinks, lunch normally took 2hrs - I just think they were disorganised!! The Buffett was rather repetitive, in the evening, although the new year Buffett was excellent. |There was also a large group of Canadians/Americans who dominated the new year celebrations making us feel like we were imposing on a private party.|I’m not sure if we’d return - the beach was stunning and being able to swim with the turtles was wonderful, however I think the hotel staff need further training and more bar staff.

We just finished a 5 night stay at this resort and we were so happy we came across this place. Right on the beachfront on Dover Beach, it has amazing views and pleasant service. Our room had a porch that led right to the beach, which made it very convenient as we were just steps away. Everyone was helpful and made us feel welcome. Really only two complaints, one of which is not the fault of the resort itself. Firstly, we had dinner at the resort our first night and it took two hours for our entrees to come out. It appeared they were short-staffed that night, but that wasn’t made clear to us when the front desk recommended we stay for dinner instead of telling us about some other local spots. Secondly, and this is the one that wasn’t the resort’s fault, is the lack of umbrellas for shade on the beach. The resort itself does not have any umbrellas, but anytime we tried to ask where we could get one (apparently there is a vendor on the beach), it felt like we were bounced around. Not the resort’s fault, but frustrating nonetheless. Overall, those two issues did not take away from our stay and I still gladly would give it 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. We truly fell in love with the place and with Barbados and can’t wait to come back. Thank you to everyone at Southern Palms!

This hotel is a delight. A few yards from your door and you're on the beautiful Dover beach, where there are plenty of sunbeds and chairs. Turtles can be seen swimming in the ocean and if you're lucky you can see them hatch on an evening. |We had a garden room. Large and airy. Clean and comfortable. |Yes it's a big tired in places but in some respects that's part of its charm. |There are 2 pools. Not large but why would you need it when the sea is so close? They are cleaned daily. |We found the staff were a delight and very friendly. |Yes the service can be slow but compared to what? It's not fast food. It's cooked fresh, and It's the Carribbean. No rush .....|On the subject of food we enjoyed it immensely. They were super diligent when it came to allergens....
