As soon as we got to the hotel we were told we'd been upgraded to an ocean view room so our holiday already started off great! The room was great, we had two huge double beds, mirrors, fridge, kettle, two sink and the shower was perfect pressure and temperature. The bed was comfy and the tv had netflix and YouTube too. The balcony was a great size overlooking the ocean.||We had a fantastic time at Southern Palms and would recommend it to anyone. We didn't spend much time eating or drinking here as we like to explore the area, but they had good vegan and vegetarian options and the happy hour cocktails were good.||On our second night we were lucky enough to see a mamma turtle laying and burying her eggs on the beach at the hotel. This was a magical once in a lifetime experience that I feel so grateful to have experienced.||The entertainment was great every day. Our aquazumba was fantastic, we didn't get the name of the teacher but she was so much fun and we had the best time with a few other hotel guests and some locals who obviously come every week to the class. Equally, Rodney was a fantastic windsurding teacher. He offers a free lesson and me and my friend had so much fun. If I had more time I would've done a couple more lessons. ||So much on offer for free at southern palms, more than I've had at any similar level hotels.||There are a few resident cats at the hotel who are friendly and adorable and well looked after, as well as turtles.||The reception staff were great, they gave us a pack of playing cards to borrow and dealt with our car hire easily. They also helped us use their phone when we had an issue with an excursion we were going on.||Me and my friend had a great time here and would 10/10 recommend.

Wow wow wow. We had the best 3 weeks at Southern Palms over Easter. The relaxed atmosphere was perfect. Even when the hotel was full it never felt crowded because there is so much space for guests to use. We had a lovely room with a stunning view. The food was great. The drinks were great. All the staff were great. The general manager was outstanding so welcoming and positive, no wonder the staff are so good with her as their manager. We have no complaints what’s so ever. It’s also a great location with some great entertainment. We have been to Barbados many times and this was our first time at Southern Palms, it certainly won’t be our last. Thank you Southern Palms, you made our holiday very special ❤️

Just come back from a great holiday at the Southern Palms - had a fantastic time. It’s in a brilliant location on the beach with a great array of bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis. Breakfast was buffet style and had a great selection. Eggs cooked to your preference by the chef were really good. Service throughout the hotel was super friendly and relaxed like it is all over the island. Special mentions to Ken at breakfast and Latoya at the bar. Both amazing with our little boy!! Our room was on the ground floor and we paid for extra space for the cot. The room had plenty of space, storage and had a really comfy bed. Is traditionally decorated and a little old but had everything we needed and we found the room to be perfect for what we needed. The staff make this place great. Would highly recommend and we will definitely stay again here.

Southern Palms has a rustic charm and is perfectly located on Dover Beach one of our favourite beaches on the island.||We stayed in July 2025 and whilst we knew it was ‘out of season’ we were surprised with how quiet the hotel was - this wasn’t a bad thing. The rooms were clean and fitting with the rest of the decor, with plenty of bars and restaurants along the gap only a minutes walk away.||We did feel that the staff were slow and disinterested. We received no information on check-in about the facilities or goings on for our ten night stay so missed out on certain things (Managers cocktail party/Teas & Coffees/Gym facilities etc). Ordering a drink from the bar seemed like an inconvenience for the staff and was fairly expensive.. especially the buffet.||However, we enjoyed our stay - it was relaxing and we will definitely consider returning to Southern Palms. 4*

Myself and my sister stayed at this hotel in June 25 for 7 nights and we really liked it.. To say that I am a fussy traveller is an understatement, couldn't fault this hotel. ||On arrival we were checked in quick, and our bags were taken to our room. ||We had a garden room, the room was very big and a few steps from the beautiful sea, it was quite dated, but we were in Barbados so didn't really matter, when your room has a sea view.||The beds we so comfortable, the air-con was brilliant, a must for me when I am travelling, there was enough towels, soap, shower gel in the bathroom. ||The room had a fridge and a kettle, we bring our own coffee. ||What we like is that we could hear the sea from our room at night, so chilling to fall asleep to. ||The food and drink at the hotel were also excellent, and prices were good for hotel bar. We had beers, cocktails etc, super nice, and good quality, again we are rather fussy, the food portions were large and you could have a carry out. ||Every member of the staff were super, super nice, especially Linda and the other ladies at the bar, sorry can't remember names, but thank you for making our well deserved holiday a memorable one. ||What can I say about the beach.... WOW!!!!!!! amazing.. ||We don't usually go to the same places twice, but we will be back.. ||Thank you for everything...

So here I am back in the UK after 14 days at the Southern Palms resort just off the Lawrence gap.|Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to all the staff there for making my stay absolutely amazing, especially as this is my first trip to Barbados solo but my seventh trip in total.|For travellers, I will always recommend an ocean view however from what I gather of other guests staying at the resort all the rooms are in very good order|This was my second time at this resort and I think the main feature of the resort is the fact that it’s so spread out in some beautiful well-maintained grounds and again my heart off to all the maintenance and gardening teams to make it look so beautiful|My package was room only so that gave me the flexibility of eating at a number of locations within the gap, but the meals I did have at the resort were very tasty and quite a wide variety of choice, particularly with the all day menu|No doubt travellers would’ve noticed comments about the seaweed that turns up every now and again and when I arrived yes there was quite a bit on the shoreline and further up towards Dover Beach however as I’ve experienced over the years the beach and the sea has a habit of reclaiming itself and by the end of the holiday I was still able to go for a really nice swim. One thing I will say about the beaches in general, but especially at Southern Palms is the way that not only the visitors and the gas but everyone respects the beaches it’s quite astonishing really the amount of visitors the island does get and how well the beaches are kept in pristine condition even in the most locations. Coming from the UK it’s very frustrating seeing how the visitors to the seaside resort in the UK treat The beaches like rubbish dumps perhaps I could learn some lessons from Barbados.||I did quite a bit of travelling around. I hide a car as I normally do this time. I’ve got a little GPS which really did help as most travellers will note the signposting is not very good but it’s still great fun driving around the island and it’s safe as well.. I used to drive-a-matic this time and their service was really good with the pick up and drop off at the hotel.|I managed to get round most of the hotspots rascals fisherman’s pub bats rock Thunder Bay sharks hole and many many other places I think that’s the fun of exploring the island. You never know what’s round the corner the only disappointment was the caboose wasn’t open on the two times I passed there that just means I’ll have to come back to the island and try it again. |I also did a day trip down to savvy on the bay, which was a great day out. It was $30.B and the bus picks you up and drop you off at a convenient time for yourselves. Will you get a lounger and an umbrella? The sea is absolutely stunning and the food trucks are absolutely amazing as well as the bar obviously.. they really do know how to look after you down there and it’s a highly recommended visit.|As I mentioned, I spent a bit of time in the Lawrence gap and basically I started up at Café Sol and worked my way down , but always might go to place was sharkys , I have a lovely team of staff down there really friendly the food is good and the drinks keep coming. What more can you ask for?|Another little point was there is a couple of convenience stores quite close by there is the Dover market where you turn right from the resort and it’s about a 10 minute walk down there however there is another smaller market just before you get to Sharkey’s where the prices are quite reasonable if you just want a small amount of Food and drink for your room. Of course you can always get a further trip bus or a taxi up to the Massey stores.|So overall Barbados did not disappoint but I would like to say a big thank you to a lot of the staff at the resort Jenny and Stephen in the reception David the sports guy and many many others who made my stay there memorable so once again thank you very much, and I will be returning without a doubt

I stayed here with my husband and our friends in March. Our room was large and cleaned every day by a lovely lady who wore brilliant pink trainers.|She and the rest of the staff are the reason this hotel is so relaxing. They are polite and nothing is too much trouble. Behind the bar and in the restaurant don't expect fast service but they are so helpful and can't do enough for you. Relax you're on holiday. The food is excellent and the breakfast selection really good.|The location is perfect right on the beach (watch out for the hawkers) and close to the resturants and bars in St Lawrence gap.|

My friends staying here all now go to blank canvas the spa which is next door. Staff seem to have a good relationship with the spa manager kiesh she is highly recommended. The best massage in barbados and it is only 100 barbadian dollars for the hour. I prefer kiesh to do thr massage. See for yourself and their pedicures are really good. The manager goes above and beyond
