Amazing experience, very enthusiastic crew on the boat, they showed all the whales in the ocean 😀 you feel safe, entertained, informed and welcome ... also toilets are very clean, complimentary coffee and cake are delicious. Strongly recommend

Whole team were amazing, there was tea, coffee and biscuits available upon arrival for the early morning run. We had a safety briefing before boarding the boat and headed off into Hermanus Bay. We were fortunate to spot whales within 15 mins and viewed 8 x Southern Right Whales in various locations in the bay. The experience meant we saw these magnificient mammals up close for well over an hour before heading back. The crew made the trip exciting, interesting and informative. Thoroughly recommend you take the time to do this particularly if your struggling to see the whales from the shoreline.

We had the most amazing experience. Lots of interesting information provided and we felt safe at all times. We found whales and were fortunate that they were very active so close to the boat.

This was a great experience. The staff are polite and organised. The main guy is very knowledgeable and they showed us way more whales than we expected to see. Nice coffee and muffins upon arrival and a little fuzzy drink near the end of the cruise.

After multiple weather cancellations with other operators, I was lucky to be rebooked with Southern Right Charters — and I couldn’t have asked for a better whale watching experience. The crew was warm, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. They helped us spot whale activity early, explained behaviours like breaching, tail slapping, and fin waving, and made sure no one missed a thing. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and their care for both guests and whales really stood out. We saw a mother and calf come right up to the boat, whales waving and playing, and two flawless breaches — a total dream come true. The drone footage they captured gave us a stunning overhead view too. The boat was comfortable, the tour was well-run, and the entire experience felt personal and unforgettable. We had a great 2 hour whale watch with Southern Right Charters. They provided coffee and some snacks prior to departure. Within 30 minutes we saw two southern right whales, one with a calf. Amazing to see. You need to have a strong stomach, as the waves can make it a very rocky ride!
