Expect light refreshments (crisps and bottled water), and bring sunscreen and seasickness medication if needed. Sightings commonly include Southern Right whales (the local calving and mating visitors), other whale species, Cape Fur seals, bottlenose dolphins and seabirds, with dramatic breaching and lobtailing often the highlight. Whole team were amazing, there was tea, coffee and biscuits available upon arrival for the early morning run. We had a safety briefing before boarding the boat and headed off into Hermanus Bay. We were fortunate to spot whales within 15 mins and viewed 8 x Southern Right Whales in various locations in the bay. The experience meant we saw these magnificient mammals up close for well over an hour before heading back. The crew made the trip exciting, interesting and informative. Thoroughly recommend you take the time to do this particularly if your struggling to see the whales from the shoreline.

We had an absolute amazing experience with Southern right charters. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic. They also provided amazing insight into the whales that we saw. We were lucky enough to see about six southern right whales very close as well as the rare brindle too! We would definitely recommend their charters to anyone looking to have this amazing experience

An absolute recommendation. From the aide staff of the cruise to the guide, all were helpful, and funny! We had a blast of a time, saw what we came for (we were very lucky to witness whales mating), and glad that we went on this tour and bought the drone video of our trip. Just be ready for that motion sickness.

This was a great experience. The staff are polite and organised. The main guy is very knowledgeable and they showed us way more whales than we expected to see. Nice coffee and muffins upon arrival and a little fuzzy drink near the end of the cruise.
