Southern Sun Abu Dhabi

I’m writing to reflect on my experience at Southern Sun Abu Dhabi. Overall it was a very positive and memorable experience. From the beginning, I enjoyed excellent facilities, including the pool and gym, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming and enjoyable.||I would like to highlight the outstanding service provided by a staff member named Abdul. His professionalism, strong work ethic, and genuine commitment to guest satisfaction stood out clearly. Abdul went out of his way to ensure I had a smooth and enjoyable experience, even during the more difficult times. He consistently made sure I felt confident, supported, and comfortable.||This level of service is among the best I’ve received at any hotel in the UAE. Abdul is truly a credit to the hotel, to the country, and to the high standards being maintained. His contribution made a real difference to my stay.

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect when staying at this hotel but it was fantastic. The room was very big and included a bathtub which was great. Location was right next to Abu Dhabi mall and galleria mall. I asked for an iron and ironing board and it was brought right to my room. The gym was great and had a lot of useful equipment compared to other hotels. Thanks to Alice and Asad for being very helpful. The hotel has basement parking and if you’re lucky, parking right outside the hotel too.

During our recent trip to Abu Dhabi, we stayed at Southern Sun Abu Dhabi as part of a 3-day layover, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. We arrived early in the morning, just a couple of hours before our scheduled city tour. Although our room wasn’t ready yet, the staff was incredibly accommodating and directed us to a private guest lounge where we could freshen up. The space had everything we needed—showers, toiletries, towels—which allowed us to feel completely refreshed and ready for the day ahead. By the time we returned from the tour, our room was ready—and it was beyond anything we expected. Spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, it instantly felt like a retreat. The bed was plush, the amenities thoughtfully arranged, and every corner of the room was spotless. The staff at Southern Sun Abu Dhabi were truly outstanding. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made all the difference. The location was ideal—central, safe, and convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining. After busy days out, returning to the hotel felt like coming home. This stay was truly memorable. From the exceptional service to the thoughtful birthday touches, the smooth arrival experience, and the comfort of our room, Southern Sun Abu Dhabi made our short layover feel like a luxurious mini-vacation. I would absolutely recommend it and can’t wait to return.

Overall a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. Definitely deserves 4 star rating. The price is also completely fair. Stayed for 3 nights and had a very positive experience. Staff are really kind offering to help you anyway they can. The room was spacious though a little dated and worn out but nothing concerning. Breakfast was very good and I'd say a highlight accompanied with great service. Location is a bit worse if you are looking to visit yas Island, the grand mosque or anything located outside the city center. Overall a very positive experience, would recommend if you are looking for a good not so expensive option in abu dhabi.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Southern Sun. The entire team was incredibly helpful, and I’d especially like to thank the breakfast team and their line manager, who quickly resolved a minor issue I experienced — very professional and efficient. A very special thank you goes to Ms. Thiri. Her warm smile, kindness, and outstanding hospitality made us feel right at home. She consistently went above and beyond to care for not only us, but all the guests around her. Ms. Thiri is truly an exceptional member of the team, and Southern Sun is lucky to have her. Thank you once again for a wonderful experience — we’ll definitely be coming back!

The best hotel at an affordable price! Friendly and polite staff, a beautiful lobby, modern furniture and appliances. Upon request, they kindly provided an iron, ironing board, and bathrobes. Thank you so much! We stayed for 3 nights and truly enjoyed our time. It’s a bit disappointing that we spent our last night at Al Maha Arjaan by Rotana — despite its higher rating and similar price, the overall experience was far below: location, service, furniture,.. I highly recommend Southern Sun Abu Dhabi!

I had a lovely stay. My room is expansive and comes with a great bathtub which I enjoyed each night.I Love the stunning entrance hall and the great location - making it 10-13min from TeamLab & Louvre, 30min from The Grand Mosque.Staff are very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Southern Sun Abu Dhabi is a clean, modern hotel in a great location. The rooms are big and comfortable, with nice bathrooms. The rooftop pool has a great view, and the restaurants serve tasty food, especially the steakhouse. The staff are friendly and helpful. A few small downsides are the small pool and open-style bathrooms, but overall, it’s a great place to stay at a good price.
