"Set the scene for us. Southern Sun Abu Dhabi is a bit round-about to get to, but it's still close enough to the city's Corniche promenade to remain appealing. The 27-story hotel sits proudly in the Tourist Club (Al Zayih) district, and although it's not as flashy as some its city neighbors, it certainly offers guests centrality and comfort. Who stays here? Younger travelers and families with proximity and budget in mind. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. Our Executive Room—one notch above the standard Deluxe category—was spacious, with a king bed, a living area, workspace, a good-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower and bath, and views of the Corniche, itself a 10-minute walk away. Black-out shades and sound-softening curtains further elevated the appeal, as did the fluffy bathrobes, soft slippers, and crisp white linens. The dark wood and leather accents added a sophisticated vibe to the space, giving it a sense of warmth. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. How was it? Wi-Fi is free and fast. What do they have to eat? There are five restaurants and bars. The Foundry, a steakhouse, has some of the best steak and seafood in the capital. At breakfast (AED140 per person), guests can enjoy pancakes, mini-burgers, meats and cheeses, congee, fresh fruit, and a selection of pastries and breads. Kahraman, meanwhile, does Arabic fare with a twist. For something more casual and sporty there's Hydra, Balcon Lounge and Terrace, and Blu Sky Lounge and Grill. And anything we missed? The rooftop pool is a great place to relax and take in some panoramic city views. There's also a well-equipped gym, his-and-hers sauna and steam rooms, and a compact business center. Valet parking and self-parking are free, and taxis and buses are available 24/7. Bottom line: is it worth it? Had a great stay always in this amazing hotel. Southern Sun js my home away from my home. Mostly the staff are very nice arabic the manager Yazid and from the reception lyka, kal and all the concierge muzafar, khushbir Ali theyre all very helpful. Good facilities and restaurants. It’s always worth to come back in abu dhabi. Ans all food frol Restaurants food are very good. I will highly recommend the hotel to my friends. Good experience and we will always choose to stay here.

Wonderful hotel and staff. Facilities were amazing, great gym and pool and sauna which we used every morning. The breakfast buffet was perfect and nothing was missing from it. But the best overall was the staff! Very sweet and helpful and friendly to talk with. Muzaffar was especially kind to us and made the experience a 10/10. Would definitely return in the future!

They have the best fluffiest pillows. Staff are very friendly with excellent customer service. Breakfast is also amazing in this hotel that has great ambiance with picturesque dining area. Kudos to Ms. Gale with her staff Naseer. We’ll come back this place.

Very nice hotel and room! Mr. Dilukshan Aravinth was very helpful and sweet to us. The smile on his face was enough to cheer anyone up 😂||The overall experience was also very good. I like the room's look. It was also really clean, plus the outlets were in very convenient places.

For the prices and given that they are in UAE, I have to rate them 5/5. They might not be a 5 star hotel but their quality, rooms and service are better than some 5 stars I have visited. The hotel building and premises are modern, tastefully designed and maintained. The rooms, we stayed in a standard double bed, were very well kept and I couldn't find a fault in anything in the room. Really impressed with a separate toilet, shower and a bath. Location is central and good places to eat within walking distances if you are bored of the hotel's own restaurant. The breakfast spread is excellent and very good quality.

Pros :||1. |Exceptional room size, with king-size bed, sofa, study table, refrigerator, hair-dryer, bath tub, separate shower section, separate toilet.||2.|Cloth carpet flooring, something which I find very comforting.||3.|Very reasonable restaurants ad super-markets just opposite the road.||4.|Located in city-centre, with a great metro vibe.|||Cons :||AC was weak in afternoon and early evening (this is after I specifically asked for a room with good AC).||It did get better at night - good enough for a good night's sleep.||I got to know through locals that this hotel is a bit old. All new hotels have very good AC.||So would recommend the hotel-manaement to renovate the AC. If not for a weak AC, I would have rated the hotel 11/10.

Loved our stay here. Best thing about the Southern Sun is the staff, especially Muzaffar who was really helpful during our stay. The pool was great to with lovely views. Breakfast was brilliant with so much variety to eat. The sports bar was pretty cool too with lots of beer selection on tap. 5 star stay

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Everything was great, from the spotless rooms to the delicious breakfast. A special thank you to Guru at the rooftop pool, whose friendliness and helpfulness truly enhanced our experience. I will choose this hotel if I travel to Abu Dhabi again.
