Southern Sun Sandton

A most pleasant stay at Southern Sun Sandton. The hotel is gracious, comfortable, and well situated. What distinguished the experience, however, was the calibre of service. The front desk team were polished, efficient, and unfailingly courteous. My sincere appreciation to Egnatia, whose attentive and thoughtful care did not go unnoticed. A refined and well-managed establishment. As such, I shall return with confidence.

Great location|Friendly and helpful staff. Front desk ladies ( Thandeka and Dikeledi) very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast.|Clean pool and gym facilities. Clean room. Aircon not working well and lobby toilets not enough available due to maintenance. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

I had the pleasure of staying at SSS from 22 to 26 February. The staff are friendly and rooms are spacious. My room was cleaned really well by a lovely lady, Lizokazi. Its so close to restaurants and recreation spots. Highly recommended

Overall experience was good. Housekeeping supplies were inconsistent. Found that we had to ask for basic thongs like a pen, towels etc. In addition, 2 days before our departure, the front desk ladies kept on reminding us we have laundry to pay during check -out 2 days later. We found this condescending and embarrassing as they seemed to think we would leave without paying for it. This was disconcerting as bills are paid at checkout. On the checkout day, we requested a porter to assist with heavy luggage. None came. We had to go down to reception again and they seemed irritated by the request. The hotel needs to find a way to ensure payment before departure of guests without haphazardly hounding guests.||Finally we requested a courtesy late check out of one hour which was flatly refused. A minute later another guest came and made the same request which was granted immediately. It is unfortunate that front office desk staff treat visitors from other parts of Africa in a discriminatory manber and with suspicion. We came on a 10- day SA holiday which we paid for with hard earned savings. Not every african visiting has nefarious intent and should be treated with dignity and respect.

When we, as a group, were there, the reception was very good. Even when our bus could not park beyond the boom barrier arm, the porters were there to help the handling of our luggages. Room was comfy and "the right size", lighting was especially well placed even at the bottom of the TV where we tidy our suitcases, a minor but welcome touch. Breakfast buffet was also very good, although could be arranged by time slots reservations due to the extra busyness (a swarm of people breakfasting around the same time), or dining area expanded.

Great King Room at Southern Sun OR Tambo. Perfect Stay for Business Trip. The king bed room was a highlight: modern furnishings, extremely comfortable mattress and pillows, quiet despite airport proximity, and everything spotlessly maintained. Loved the little touches like coffee station and ample space to unwind. Super convenient with free airport shuttle, good dining options on-site, and attentive staff. A solid, hassle-free choice in Joburg – far better comfort than expected for an airport hotel. 5/5!

We had a fantastic stay at Southern Sun Sandton. The rooms were clean and luxurious. The staff were very friendly and polite. The breakfast buffet was a nice variety of foods that were fresh and constantly being topped up. We were offered hot beverages and even took a take away drink for our drive home. It was a wonderful experience for our girls night out.

From rooms to the service was outstanding, the stay was outstanding, the guests the we were hosting at the venue were overly impressed, the presentation of the hotel from the lobby to the rooms, the venue is easily accessible from Grayston drive offramp to the location. However the G20 guests had a lot to admire, I'm glad the hotel kept it up to par with hospitality being a culture than a transaction.❤️
