⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Exceptional Stay in Cape Town! Our stay at the waterfront hotel was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, polite, and always ready to help. The on-site restaurant served excellent food, and our room was modern, spotless, and serviced daily to perfection. The hotel’s courtesy shuttle made getting to the beautiful V&A Waterfront precinct effortless — we went there several times and loved every visit. The location is ideal, with easy access to all that Cape Town has to offer. A special mention to the hotel manager, Nandipa, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and truly made our stay memorable. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Cape Town!

We had a really great experience staying at the Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The breakfast buffet was excellent — plenty of variety, fresh food, and great quality overall. The service and staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. There was a slight issue with our booking at check-in, but they handled it quickly and politely, which we really appreciated. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with soft beds that made for a great night’s sleep. The hotel also offers underground parking, which felt safe and convenient — although the daily parking rate is quite expensive and really should be included in the stay. There are a few things that could be improved. The air conditioners definitely need an upgrade — some of them didn’t work properly, and others made quite a loud noise, which was frustrating at night. The TVs could also be upgraded to smart TVs so that guests can connect to Netflix or streaming platforms, as the current ones make even new movies look like they’re from the 80s. Lastly, it would be nice if the hotel provided two bottles of water in the room when there are two guests staying, instead of just one. Despite those small issues, we still had a great stay. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, great food, and excellent service. I’d definitely recommend Southern Sun Waterfront for anyone visiting Cape Town — it’s comfortable, clean, and overall a really enjoyable experience.

Another memorable stay at my number one choice when visiting Cape Town! This trip was for business, as I attended a conference at the CTICC, which is conveniently within walking distance of the hotel.||||A special mention to Nandipha at the front desk for her friendliness and warm welcome throughout my stay. I checked in the day after a major rugby game, so there was a short wait for my room, and I was offered a mountain-view room instead of the waterfront view I had originally requested. This turned out to be a great alternative — the room was spacious, comfortable, and offered a stunning view of Table Mountain.||||Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide and delicious selection. Mary Jane and Shahid went out of their way to accommodate my dietary preferences. Although the hotel is not Halaal, they thoughtfully prepared my non-meat omelette separately. The coffee was excellent, and the service remained attentive despite the breakfast area being quite busy.||||Room service for supper was equally impressive — the meal was tasty, beautifully presented, and served with a smile. I also appreciated that the complimentary shuttle to the V&A Waterfront now runs later than on previous visits, operating hourly until 10 p.m.||||Overall, another splendid stay. Consistently great service, friendly staff, and excellent location make this hotel my top choice in Cape Town. Highly recommended!

Basic accommodation near the waterfront. Great for workers but not so great for tourists. The reason I say this is that the rooms are tiny and with a couple sharing a room with 2 suitcases, there is no space in the room. Breakfast is good, double beds are only 5ft wide so very small. Bathroom is dated and a very small shower. Pool area is tiny with sunshine for only 2 to 3 hrs per day. We wouldn't recommend for tourists as there are better options out there.

Enjoyable stay in city centre. |It is more of a business hotel with various tall groups stopping, so it does get busy.|Staff are very friendly. Room is quite small but adequate..|All necessary facilities provided-Hotel, kettle, fridge.|We were on the 14th floor and were overlooking the unfinished road and football stadium.|Excellent breakfast.|There is a shuttle bus which takes guests to the waterfront. It leaves on the our every hour and returns on the half hour. It is very reliable and punctual.

The rooms are not big nor interesting. You can't get a king size bed without an executive upgrade. The room with the king size bed is minimally larger than regular rooms. There are inadequate charging outlets in the room with only one single outlet on one side of the bed that surprisingly does not take the M type plug( typical in Capetown) but takes the European charger. You can only plug in chargers on one side. Bring a wall outlet multiplier. There were no outlets in the bathroom. There were small flies in our bathroom which we brought to the front desk's attention. Nothing was done. The concierge and the porters were great. Breakfast was nice.

Always a fantastic stay to be had at the Southern Sun Waterfront. There are numerous visas, based on your rooms position, you can see up Signal Hill, look out over the V&A Waterfront or even just look at the glorious flora down below at street level. The service is always good and the staff are super friendly and helpful. For dining you may wish to visit the Restaurant, eat in your room or even at the bar. There are sumptuous options for started and mains, but leave room for dessert - they are not only imaginative but delicious too! The hotel is very popular with tourists and tourists groups so breakfast can be a bit busy, all the more reason to wake up earlier and enjoy the Cape!

I recently stayed at Southern Sun Waterfront Cape Town on a business trip and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were outstanding, even going the extra mile to retrieve my charger from another hotel. Room service was exceptionally fast, and every touchpoint—from the warm welcome at the entrance, to check-in, to the cleanliness of the room-was excellent.||A special thank you to Nandipha, Sibusiso, Aseza, Petido, Zizipho, Verushka, Jadon, and Zolani, whose genuine hospitality made my stay truly memorable. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travel.
