"Next up is the Southern Vermont Arts Center, which has been supporting the community for nearly a century. You can easily spend an afternoon there, perusing exhibits that include celebrity portraits, art from local schools, and blown glass displays—check out what's on now at svac.org. Music lovers will appreciate the running lineup of performances at SVAC: There's a Simon and Garfunkel tribute act in July, and next month, a Latin jazz benefit concert for Puerto Rico."

My husband took me to CurATE in Vermont for "linner" on my birthday. The only thing better than the grounds at this establishment and the scenery was the food. Chef prepared us a fresh scallop and creamy corn appetizer that was "to die for" delicious 😋. I had the salmon for lunch, Rick had the ham, tomato and cheese quiche, which, in a word, was YUM. I had the decadent carrot cake for dessert, which they adorned with a birthday candle for me, and Rick had his beloved ice cream, vanilla and strawberry. We also thought the bill at the end was reasonable for this expertly prepared and served food in a beautiful, clean setting. Many thanks to Leila, who was delightful, took perfect care of us, and had us leaving happy. Treat yourself soon to this perfect gem in Southern Vermont. You know you deserve it!

This place was nice. Loads to see. The story of the dress was so moving. I was not please that there is no elevator in the art gallery. My father in law was only able to see one floor. I took loads of photos for him but it's not right that he was not able to see it for himself. There was no additional discount for only seeing 1 floor of the gallery. The lady at the front seemed to not be bothered and was not apologetic in the least. There is a restaurant in the gallery, however we did not eat there.

We were a group of six and we had a wonderful dinner. I won't go into too much detail, but suffice to say, the ambiance and food was worth the trip. Plus, our waitress was a veteran and did a nice job. Get there a little early to view the gallery and art work. Enjoy.

An interesting choice in winter, but the galleries were nice. It is more difficult to enjoy the outdoor sculptures. Some can be seen, while others would require trek through the snow. But the surrounding views are amazing!

Found this place after visiting Mt. Equinox. Pics online looked cool so decided to check it out. There's a long driveway up to the parking lot, with around 20-30 sculpture's scattered throughout fields and trees along the driveway. It's about a mile long or so. At the top near the parking lot there are a couple different grassy areas with sculpture's along with a big field. The art museum building is on the smaller side, with a few exhibits throughout. They close around 4:30, we got there almost at closing, so we were able to quickly look around for free. All in all, it was a good stop to pass some time.

I truly loved it here. What a unique and wonderful experience. Amazing for all wondrous souls. Parking available on site. Great open outdoor area with so much beauty(nature and art). Indoor museums(exhibit halls) inside park as well. Interesting sculptures throughout park, story telling trails that I truly loved ( especially the " already a butterfly - a meditation story") that takes you into the forest, and shows you what type of plants/ trees your amongst while reading the story as a puzzle. There's gift shops as well. I highly recommend this beautiful location that truly is a journey and an adventure. Ps: I loved that book so much that my partner went and bought it for me in the Northshire bookstore ( which I highly recommend as well). Ig: zarinazzzgab for more

This is a review of the restaurant only. After grandparents day at the Long Trail School I took my grandson to the Curate Cafe at SVAC for lunch as a treat. We both enjoyed our meals. The food Is pricey but it’s for a good cause. It was an overcast rainy day and, unfortunately, the mood seemed to affect the mood of the cafe staff. If you go on a sunny day maybe you’ll get some smiles. We didn’t get any.

Our visit coincided with their annual Halloween event. Fortunately for us, there was no entrance fee. Unfortunately for us, it was a pretty chaotic time to visit with events going on and kids running around. Still managed to see some interesting arts though.

Yelp
The art is worth going, the reataurant is outstanding!!! Ambiance and service are amazing and local foods were delicious.

Yelp
Some of the best, most outstanding artists are displayed at this fine, escapist oriented gallery. Would highly recommend for anyone passing by to check this place out.

Yelp
The drive toward it has a really cool sculpture exhibition and going in we got in right around the closing time and they still let us in to see a bunch of the art galleries exhibit. The staff is very nice and the art was enjoyable. They have a lot of events that I unfortunately didn't get to attend.

Yelp
Sabra Field exhibit is not to be missed! Not necessarily the greatest place for kids unless you attend an event geared towards them. The grounds could use some TLC but the exhibits are great, and short. Plan to spend an hour or so touring both buildings. Visit Cafe Mamie on a sunny day and enjoy some tea in the Vermont hills. The only annoying thing about SVAC is they place too much emphasis on the artists themselves and hardly ever list information on the work being displayed. We left rather annoyed that each gallery lacked information, if it gave any at all, on the thought behind each piece. A hidden Manchester gem to spend a few hours.

Yelp
I highly recommend a visit to the Arts Center.  Nestled on top of a hill you will find a charming center for the Arts.  From the beautiful paintings displayed to the performance space where I saw Jim Brickman perform...this is a can't miss.  The buildings themselves and property  have a charm themselves that make you feel like you are in a painting yourself.  As if this weren't enough, there are even fun interactive things to do like paint night and the Halloween on the Hill festival where I got to make my own cookies!!! I visit this place when i'm in the area, and my schedule allows which isnt as often as id like but when I am there its always a nice time. Check it out.  You will thank me!

Yelp
I just ate at the new restaurant, Cafe Sora, a Japanese cafe at SVAC and it was wonderful. Finally! Do NOT miss the glass sculpture exhibition, Modern Alchemy. It is fabulous. It is such a nice drive up the long winding bucolic driveway to the gallery. The Sculpture Garden in the fields below just keeps getting better and better. I am looking forward to the rest of the summer events.

Yelp
What a wonderful place this is! My children spent years as youngsters, taking art classes there! The drive up to the center and walking through the beautiful galleries is just beautiful! Gift shops and cafe always a relaxing and special experience! Love the place! Concerts in the auditorium have been excellent through the years!

Yelp
This is a review for the restaurant here - TED Cafe. On a chilly, rainy day, we thought it would be cozy- but we actually FROZE. One little plug-in heater did nothing in this lovely Greenhouse style room.. I sat in my jacket shivering, so it was difficult to totally enjoy lunch. The menu selection is excellent, and the prices fair. I have one huge pet peeve, however. I ordered a salmon-on-salad dish - supposedly consisting of spinach and Frisee (which I love) but it arrived ALL spinach. I asked..and they said they were out of Frisee. The server should have informed us. He was so "Green" that he even forgot to tell us the specials. Then the Shrimp and "Asian Noodle Salad"? Ha, it consisted of the fried Chinese Style Restaurant variety crumbled on top of greens - not the rice noodles/peanut or sesame salad we envisioned from the menu description. That was surprising. The menu is therefore deceptive. However, my husband liked the shrimp dish and I enjoyed a perfectly cooked piece of salmon -with plenty of beautiful beets- both red and golden. We skipped dessert- we just were too cold. The Art Center is gorgeous and a must for tourists and locals who like Art.

Yelp
Great place to spend an afternoon perusing local art and then finding that special piece to take home as a reminder of your holiday in VT.

Yelp
We visited the Southern Vermont Arts Centre to take in the outdoor sculptures and were blown away by the sight of huge art installations in the middle of beautiful meadowland, surrounded by towering mountains. Breathtaking! The art exhibitions indoors of local Vermont artists and their depictions of Vermont are worth an afternoon - you appreciate the artists' perspective of the landscapes around you. We walked along the Boswell botany trail, a short simple trail that is overgrown with weeds and needs a bit of maintenance. The information presented was simple, great for kids.
