Still waiting on Southwest to put my name on a plane as much as I fly them. Has been my go to airline for travel for 20 years. Truly have the LUV they are none for. Writing this on a SWA flight right now.

Google
We only use Southwest Airlines and enjoyed the operation of the business. Why change a good system from free luggage to assign seats makes no since to me. It appears now America businesses is trying to implode. The start of ruining a sound process for greed.

Google
5+ years ago Southwest airlines was the best airline to fly in the country.... But seems year by year they are making changes and NOT to benefit the flyer, the whole reason they are in business is only because of the customer ( flyers ).... But seems corporate and or ones at the top are worried about profit and making things easier for their workers, from no outside kiosks to we have to print our baggage tickets and still wait in line and get asked all the same questions multiple times etc etc etc etc

Kind employees. Decent snacks. Quality time spent with my kids on the flight. They gave the kids little wings and coloring book.

Busy day for flying. “REAL ID” is in full effect. Get your passport. Southwest crew are in high spirits, fun, helpful and friendly.

Casa Grande, AZ small quiet w/ potential town . Very HOT 111 ! Not much to do in town but Phoenix is only 40 minutes north. Enjoying life’s precious moments!

Google
Still one of the friendliest airlines. But their on time service has seriously dropped in light of the current and upcoming changes. Last 3 out of 4 flights in the last 2 weeks have been late taking off

Google
Flying into Chicago O'Hare Airport provided a beautiful view. The only reason I'm rating this flight two stars is because we were in the second to the last row and two of the flight attendants were talking for about two hours with a regular voice which made it difficult for me to fall asleep so I ended up having to put my earbuds on to dampen the noise and I could still hear them🤷 I hope our return flight brings a different experience.

Yelp
Southewst and Delta have my go-to airplines for years. I personally have not had any major issues with Southwest in my many years of flying. I have just encountered mostly small things. Terminal 4 is the hub for Southwest at Sky Harbor airport in Phoenix. I do enjoy flying out of that terminal because I like the restaurants there. I am one of those people that still arrives two hours before my flight. This has always alleviated many issues like being late for a flight because of long security check point lines. The customer service for me has usually been good on Southwest, I like being able to pick my seat when I book my flight. So I am not a fan of how seating is not assigned on Southwest flights. I usually pay the extra fee to get into group A seating. I like being able to connect and watch movies on my flights. I also like that carry-on luggage is still free. But times are changing and Southwest has had to make changes that I haven't enjoyed. Flying is becoming more of a hassle lately. I just hope Southwest can keep decent service and reliable flight times for the most part.

Yelp
1/31/25- Just landed.. and a ver smooth ride- Pilot announced that we had to wait because someone was in our spot.. How does that happen?.. Then another few minutes later- he announces waiting for someone else to bring the ramp.. Wouldn't be a bother if the next connecting flight is gate D.. and we're at 7.. Just made it even with a restroom stop.. Ten minutes to board.. whew!

Yelp
This is not a luxury experience - but to me is more reliable than other budget airlines. If the price is really really good I take Southwest - and if you search for deals the prices that can be found a few times a year are shockingly good. Search forums if your interested - but don't go too crazy with price shopping as your time also costs money in my book - that is unless you have no more future dreams or aspirations. United seems to always cancel last minute - Delta a bit high nosed - and well, Southwest - at least its not Spirit. I think the most germy places on these aircrafts are the seatbelts, headrests, tray table - so just try not to touch any of that. My least favorite seats are the ones in front of the emergency exit rows as they don't recline - I also like to avoid the far back or far front of the plane - over the wings is great your going to get a better ride. Smooth sailing. What else is there for options? You can travel by car or Amtrak - I can't comment too much on the train - seems old fashioned - romantic - and leisurely. Maybe perfect for retired people who have lots of free time. Overall of all the times I've flown Southwest I expect the worst and it just doesn't happen. One of my brothers takes more luxury flights and complains more about the people in business class. He said Paris Hilton and her husband took his spot and she was obnoxious and took his and his wife's seat. At least if you fly coach on SW you don't ever have to worry about bumping into her.

Yelp
My third time flying Southwest Airlines at the Phoenix Airport. Staff was very helpful checking in though the check in line is an unorganized mess but once you get through all that and get to your gate it's smooth. Quick boarding process too. Though it was great seeing that newer Southwest planes had USB ports but this plane unfortunately didn't. Great snacks and stewardists on the plane. Overall, great, Casual flying experience!

Yelp
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, Southwest Airlines is my jam!! I'm too skedddd to try any other "budget" airline like Frontier or Spirit. I have heard way too many horror stories, lol. Southwest isn't perfect, but they come pretty damn close. The Phoenix based crew is always friendly and professional. Sometimes, when I fly to/from Phoenix Sky Harbor, we don't get the complimentary drink due to turbulence. When they do serve it, I always giggle to myself because the ride is so short, they tell you to hurry it on up, stop drinking, and start chugging! The flight is barely an hour long, so they literally hand them out, then come back through the cabin and start collecting trash. I've got this routine down like no one's business. I'll continue to be a fan of SWA and hopefully fly longer than 1 hour in the near future. Houston and Jersey are calling my name!

Yelp
I know most people don't like to fly Southwest Airlines. My wife and I do. The benefits are that you can check in via the app 24 hours prior to your flight, free luggage check, snacks, complimentary drinks, Travel Rapid Rewards, and have the friendliest (sometimes funniest) staff. I was surprised there was hardly any line flying back home to San Jose, CA. The flight wasn't as full as usual, so there were plenty of empty seats to choose from. Very enjoyable.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
The flight attendants and online agents are both nice, especially the lady helped me to update the boarding pass promptly. Their flights have large room for legs, and generally clean.
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
This was the first time my entire family flew with me on this flight and we had a very very positive experience. I'm a tall man so the only thing I wished was there was just a wee bit more legroom, but that's just me and not everybody else on the flight. The staff was polite and friendly and helpful and from the ticket counter to the entry gate to the flight staff, we were treated very very well. Everything was clean fast and we got all the attention we required. Thank you team Southwest.

Yelp
I can't believe I've never reviewed Southwest Airlines! They are my favorite US airline. Here's why: 1. It is very easy to redeem Southwest Rapid Rewards points for free flights. Other airlines make it tough. Southwest is a breeze! 2. Two checked bags (up to 50 pounds each) are free. This can save you a lot of money. 3. Staff members are friendly and fun. In 20+ years of flying on Southwest, I've only encountered one somewhat crabby flight attendant. 4. They now fly to Hawaii! They even have Hawaii sales every so often. 5. The Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa card is an easy way to rack up points. 6. You can earn Southwest Rapid Rewards through renting a car or booking a hotel through the Southwest website. Keep up the great work, Southwest!

Yelp
It was great. My Favorite airline. From getting a ticket to checking in and getting luggage. I don't like flying any other airline if I can help it these days
google avatar

HoyMay P.

Yelp
We already had our boarding passes and went to the kiosk to get luggage tags . It was an easy process. We put the baggage claim tickets on our luggage. We proceeded to the counter and a nice agent helped our check baggage. Onward to the gate.

Yelp
My mom just arrived at the airport with such a special story about a sweet flight attendant who went way above and beyond. There was a little boy, who was flying on his own, and he was so upset before the flight took off. He told the flight attendant that he didn't get to kiss his mom goodbye. Well, the flight attendant calmly and so sweetly assured him that she would get his mom. They paged her, let her come on board, and that's when it got even more special. The fight attendant had the mom kiss each of the boy's hands, saying, "This is the one where she kissed you goodbye, and this one is the one you hold on to until you get back." As a mom, myself, it brought tears to my eyes to picture that, and I think it was wonderful. My mom flew on three different airlines over the Christmas holidays, and she said that the people with Southwest were just so much more special and nice.

Karen H.

Yelp
I just came back from a trip to Prescott Az, I flew out of Phoenix back to Ontario, California. I just wanted to say I had a great experience flying, the airport was clean, and I had wheel chair runners that were pleasant and helpful. Their was a smell in the airport, that smelled like you were home, it was fantastic. Every one I came in contact with was helpful and nice. You know you teach people how to treat you. and the way this world is going, its time we said thank you to people that help us. Thank you South west. Karen Herrold

Yelp
Love me some Southwest Airlines! The Phoenix crew were very welcoming, friendly, and just plain nice! From now on, this is my airline of choice for flying to and from the Valley of the Sun. From the 2 free bags per person, the carry on and personal item per person allowed in the cabin, to the ability to watch tv and movies for free in flight, plus the inexpensive alcohol available, Southwest is truly worth the price! 62/2023

Yelp
Always a pleasure to fly on SWA. I wasn't always a fan of open seating but, I've grown to appreciate it. The flight to Nashville and then to Tampa was smooth and the Flight Attendants were knowledgeable and quite funny. They were happy to share some of their travel experiences and spots to check out while in Tampa. The service was as expected and done with a smile. I travel SWA for personal and business because I love the service and the interactions with the attendants.

Yelp
Did you know that Southwest made 6.33 Billion dollars YTD. And their stock prices are $28.36 a share. incredible!!! On Monday, June 17th, I was on Southwest Airlines flight WN 1823, departing from Phoenix and scheduled to arrive in San Francisco at 10:55 PM. While seated, I witnessed an unsettling incident involving a flight attendant named Brian. The commotion began behind me, prompting me to turn around and listen. Brian was apparently kicking a guest's seat. When the guest asked him to stop, Brian denied the behavior, became argumentative, and defended himself by saying, "This is my job; I'm working." His response was baffling and seemed irrelevant to the situation. His unprofessional, rude, and obnoxious demeanor escalated further when he started yelling at the guest's husband, demanding that he sit down and wait to retrieve his headphones from the overhead compartment, despite the fact that the plane hadn't even departed and passengers were still boarding. Brian's reaction to the guest's complaint seemed excessively harsh. He stormed off to the cockpit, and shortly after, the guest and her husband were temporarily removed from the plane, only to be allowed back on later. The entire episode was shocking and demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy on Brian's part.

Yelp
Yep, Southwest is definitely better than AA has been for us. Nicer staff, more roomy, and less turbulence. One of the better airline companies.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Security was a breeze but we are TSA Pre Approved. Departing from gate D-5 and announcements and boarding seems very simple and straightforward

Yelp
I have been traveling for two weeks straight and still needed a few days remaining of my . business trip. It all went downhill when I saw the lines to check my luggage. Then I flew to Phoenix and was looking forward to a nice hot shower but was quickly disappointed when i picked up my baggage. Not only did my suitcase look like it had been run down by a truck, it was useless! Only added to my anxiety and frustration. Never again will I travel with Southwest. The low airfares are just motivating worth it.
google avatar

Starla M.

Yelp
Love Southwest! They take care of their customers. When a delay happened they gave me a voucher for a free flight. When my bags were delayed they gave me a $200 voucher. Always friendly and reliable. Stuff happens but when it does they are courteous and provide compensation unlike AA who was horrible.
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
Very good service as always. Staff are almost always the friendliest for America based airlines. Price can vary drastically. But overall a good flying experience every time.
google avatar

Nancy B.

Yelp
Omg 3 times in a row within 2 months southwest says they don't have staff so 3 to 4 hrs later we board. Now I am on the 4th time same thing. The last time they just lied and no staff came after several hrs I had to drive home. So naturally people go places in a plane and mine was my home cuz Southwest does not care about the people that travel with southwest. Maybe we should all come 3 hrs late and southwest should be just rolling up to put us all on.
google avatar

Tracy B.

Yelp
12.12.23: Returning from an international flight while on vacation, I had to re-check in my luggage. Southwest employees were nice and quick and sent me on my way in less than 2 minutes! I really enjoy using SW and love that they allow 2 checked bags.
google avatar

Bryan S.

Yelp
A great flight in from OKC. Getting bags and heading to watch some baseball! I can't be more pleased with the fantastic service and quick flight! Respectfully, Bryan Yukon, Oklahoma

Yelp
Flying grayhound never ceases to amaze me with their cattle crowded small airplanes and rapidly changing schedules and cancellations. What do you expect? They're known as having the most antiquated computer system of most airlines from the news reports earlier this year. God only knows how old their B737-700's are. These pieces of garbage cancelled my 1:50pm PHX-SAN and rebooked me on the 3:50pm. No big deal you say? Nope. I was 3 miles from Enterprise rental car dropoff at 1130am when I got the dreaded text from SWA. The car was due in by 12pm. Let's just say SCREWED. Got to Skyharbor at 12pm for a 3:50pm flight.
google avatar

Courtney O.

Yelp
Complain all you want, but Southwest will always be one of my favorite airlines to fly. You can almost always guarantee you'll be greeted with a friendly face as you jump on board. The open seating isn't for everyone, but I like it. They have a great rewards program and the on flight experience is always plesant!
google avatar

Yelp
Flying to Salt Lake City via Phoenix so far no issues. Southwest has lost our luggages once and we experienced multiple delays in 2022. This said, over the years I found Southwest to be a great airline that typically goes out of its way to help. The new CEO is the CFO type all about numbers no knowledge of airline operations. This is the reason why we had so many issues with ground operations. This is highly unusual for Southwest so hopefully they will iron out their issues. Overall this is a great airline that needs to refocus their strategy on their operations.

Krissy G.

Yelp
If I could give a negative star rating I would. Our plane to Las Vegas is now 4 hours delayed, then I get an automated call and see the website that the plane departed at 436pm an hour earlier than the posted time. On the message from SW, it states to continue checking the status on the website. Website said departed at 436. Went to the gate and was told that the sw app is not reliable and was showing Las Vegas time and has not departed. Not only were we delayed 4 hours now the stress of potentially missing our flight was clear BS! We will not be flying SW nor using our SW Credit cars anymore. I suggest the public do the same.

Brooklyn G.

Yelp
They were so rude to me put my daughters suitcase and took stuff out like her favorite special toy a stuff animal and threw it out. It was a ten year old little girl and that guy I don't know the name (the grinch) made her cry and didn't even apologize. This airport sucks
google avatar

Cherodi M.

Yelp
We paid almost 700$ for our tickets from phx to Reno. This is soooooooooooooooooo ghetto. Seats are cramped. STILL..... since the 90's. My husband and I aren't even sitting together? What did we pay for if it's open seating and we can't sit together. Plus it's freaking dirty. I'll never fly this airline ever ever ever again.
google avatar

Diele K.

Yelp
Solid airline for the price of flights! Be sure to check out their Chase credit card to earn miles as they are really easy to redeem. Southwest is my preferred airline for all of my Disneyland weekend getaways!

Ted P.

Yelp
This sucks! First trip to Idaho in years and it was horrible. I had a 2 hour delay in Sacramento on top of my 3 hour layover! Now, it's happening again on my way home! I'm in Phoenix, AZ on a 3 hour layover and another 2 hour delay! Don't think I will be using this airline again!

Donnie M.

Yelp
Closed the door early and couldn't get my son on the plane because they decided to close the door early they would not open the door and he missed the flight I will never spend another one of my hard-earned dollars with this Airline

Sueann S.

Yelp
I booked tickets for my boyfriend and I and we got group B and group C for boarding and no one at the airlines would let us board together not very happy about that people traveling together should board together and I booked the tickets at the same time
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Love the A list preferred boarding. Two checked bags and twice carry on items if you're into way over packing. We enjoy the generous companion pass benefit. Free snacks and beverages are nice as well. Almost forgot the free inflight movies and live television. Also, the free inflight texting. We often get the two seat exit row which keeps the wide bodied from cramping our row.
google avatar

Odalis G.

Yelp
As far as the airlines, everything went well. There was a delay, but it was weather related, so that was a must. I am grateful that the correct steps were taken for everyone's safety.
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
Flt #1623 on July 25 is a shitting flight. Not only it delayed 5 he and If I knew it stop in LAX for gas, I would take Hawaiian Airlines or whichever fly direct to Honolulu. Terrible.

Will F.

Yelp
Beginning to think the momentum to fire the CEO of SW Airlines is the right move. 3 consecutive trips in a row on SW and everyone has been delayed by at least an hour. What a horribly run business.
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
I've never had a problem with flying southwest. You board based off your checkin number and you get a free checked bag along with your carry on. Let's not forget the good bag of snacks and a drink you get. I wonder if I can purchase those snack bags, anyway. The fight attendants have always been pleasant and I'll definitely fly them again!
google avatar

April A.

Yelp
I have never had any issues with Southwest Airlines. I have always had good service and good luck with this airline. Very nice people on the flight crews and and on the boarding crew. I enjoy flying Southwest when I travel. Good, affordable flights.
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
Southwest is usually my airline of choice. We've been lucky to find some of our flights on special sales and as long as you're quick to check in right at 24 hours before your flight you usually get a decent boarding spot. I may be lucky, but I haven't had much trouble with rescheduled or delayed flights and the staff has always been friendly. I definitely recommend getting a rewards account with them and downloading the app if you're going to fly Southwest. Also, I love that they have inflight texting and entertainment options available to everyone now.

Dan R.

Yelp
Athens flight attendant was Outstanding Highly recommend She likes her job and it is obvious
google avatar

Zachary D.

Yelp
Horrible picture but it's late. This place right off the gate took 40 minutes to get a burger out. I had to run to my gate. The pilot behind me brought my order and the guy behind me( his pizza. I was the last on the plane. He didn't have to do that and I'm extremely grateful. I love Southwest and it's employee.

Gary C.

Yelp
Yet another Southwest scheduling meltdown due to "weather" in Orlando. Just like December 2022 which also impacted my family. We all probably remember that one. DoT $140M fine. Massive cancellations, rescheduling, and just letting passengers disappear from the system. That was my family Saturday and Sunday starting March 9. Eventually my wife got to fly home to Phoenix. Of course she is the only non-revenue passenger in the group because she is designated as my Companion on the Southwest Companion Pass. She shouldn't even fly without me. My daughter and I gave up. We rented a car and drove back. Now fighting to get a full $2100+ refund on our expenses. They are only offering $1700 and change. I've filed DoT complaints and contacted the local news on channel 2 in Phoenix. SW was my favorite airline. Spent a lot of money with them. Flew them almost exclusively. Attained A-List / A-List Preferred and Companion Pass for 2 years. Now they blow it all away over $500 due to me. I'll fly out my remaining points, vouchers, and cancel my credit card. The entire review would be 10's of thousands of words. Just imagine what would happen if the 3 Stooges were put in charge of scheduling in the midst of a weather problem. That was and is Southwest when a drop of rain falls in two or more geographic locations. Their operations team and software fall apart. Planes here and crew there and passengers here. Oh what can we do? Blame it on the weather! Leave the passengers stranded talking to our smiling agents!

Debbie B.

Yelp
We traveled on Southwest from Minneapolis to Phoenix in January 2024. My husband required a wheelchair due to recent back surgery. We were so very impressed with the wheelchair service, they met him at the curb, wheeled him through the airport AND helped me to manage the bags. At the gate a Southwest representative met us and wheeled him down the jetway to the plane. Upon arrival in Phoenix, they met us on the jetway and wheeled him all the way to the car in the parking garage!! Supreme customer service and we appreciate it so much! We're telling all our friends.
google avatar

Janie W.

Yelp
Your flight attendants are rude and very unprofessional! Your bathroom signs are beyond dumb! Please move back into this century forward not backwards! You need green lights so people can see them! The flight is way overpriced for what you have to deal with on the plane! I will not fly this airline again. Uncomfortable miserable just like our government! They want middle class gone! Goodbye southwest!

L G.

Yelp
Don't fly them anymore... Waited on. Call on hold for 45 min Confirmation number 3dfqdy... no help to change my Mom's flight for her surprise party... I had to cancel one leg and then rebook at a cost of 200 extra dollars. I used ever rapid reward points t I had and paid more. Sadly their system is so difficult to navigate I booked the wrong month.... They canceled the flight, will not return any of the fare and their help desk told me "we cannot help" call our corporate office... Confirmation 3xkn34 cost me over 400 bucks and their Luv department showed no love... What joke. I am never flying with them again.
