We stayed there on a Saturday night this past weekend. They allowed a helpful early check-in at 11 a.m., and the location felt reasonably secure. The midday and evening staff were nice and friendly.
The room, however, was one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in, and without a doubt the worst value per square foot I’ve ever experienced. At $230 a night, the location and friendly service didn’t make up for everything the room was lacking. The bed wasn’t anything special, and the two pillows were flimsy with no support. There were only two lighting options: a small, wobbly bedside lamp or every overhead light in the room at once. There wasn’t a separate light for the bathroom area.
The bathroom had a somewhat random bidet installed on the toilet, which was interesting and nice to use, although unexpected. The toilet paper holder broke and fell to the floor the first time I touched it. The shower rod fell when a towel was draped over it. The water temperature didn’t get very hot, nowhere near what my fiancée prefers, and most hotels don’t seem to have that issue. The floor rack was flimsy, with rust spots behind it. There was a metal frame around the shelves just outside the bathroom area that clearly wasn’t coated for wet conditions, and it had a lot of rust on it. The sink wouldn’t stay on without constant pressure. There was a sign saying to push the nozzle forward, but it sprang back the moment you let go, making it frustrating to use.
The floor was chipped, scratched, and marred, and even if it had been clean, it still looked dirty. At the end of the bed, the cheap flooring had deep gouges and scuffs. The bed itself was flimsy, and the headboard moved and bounced against the wall with very little movement. The TV was small but worked fine. The remote didn’t have a battery cover. The room’s only phone had no charging cable attached to its base, so it was dead.
There were no windows in the room, only in the hallway. No gym, no pool, no real amenities, just the lobby bar and the rooms. Parking is available across the street for a reasonable rate.
The staff was very friendly, the complimentary late checkout at noon was appreciated, and the lobby had a good vibe. But the rooms had no redeeming features besides being completely dark in the morning, and at $230 a night, the experience left a lot to be desired.
