A Hidden Gem – Unforgettable Stay! From the moment we arrived, this charming little hotel exceeded all expectations. The warm welcome, cozy ambiance, and impeccable cleanliness made us feel right at home. Every detail was thoughtful and warm. The staff went above and beyond, offering personalized recommendations and genuine hospitality. Nestled in a perfect location, it was the ideal retreat for a peaceful getaway. If you're looking for a place with character, comfort, and exceptional service, this is it. Can’t wait to return!

We stayed for two nights in this delightful hotel during a walking holiday and it could not be more comfortable. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotless. There is a terrace to sit outside and have breakfast or an evening drink and there is a pool with a poolside bar for relaxing at the end of the day after a long day of hiking and sight seeing. Extensive grounds with olive trees and flowers give a feeling of relaxation and space.

The Sovana Hotel and the town of Sovana itself were delightful! The hotel was quiet, my bed was comfortable, the A/C kept me cool, the staff was friendly and professional, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The pool was wonderful and the grounds beautiful! There was also plenty of free parking onsite. The town of Sovana is small and charming and one of my favorite villages I’ve visited. An easy drive from Saturnia hot springs and Etruscan necropolis archeological site, the location is ideal.

This hotel needs to be refurbished. The pool is nice, and the area rugs are nice but that is all the positives I can share. The grounds were unkept, the furnishings were very old and dated. There was not communication regarding check-in and parking which is in an adjacent area not easy to find with a gate and code that was not given to us. The breakfast was all store bought products, and some eggs that had been sitting for hours it looked like. The worst was the air conditioning it did not cool the room enough at all especially the loft bedroom. When I complained I was told to keep the window shutters closed, this not only didn't work but then felt like we were in a dungeon. The common areas were also very dark and warm. Seemed like they did not want to spend the money to light or cool the place in summer! Folks this property is charging way too much for the experience that they provide! Spend your money somewhere else!

We only stayed one night here but wish we could have stayed much longer. It was our favorite place in Italy. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. There are olive trees, walking paths and even a hedge maze. Too chilly to use the pool but the pool area was beautiful. There are several cats that live in the garden and there were even a pair of tiny kittens!| We had a room with a balcony that had views of the cathedral and the gardens. Book that one if you can. We really enjoyed it. | The staff was so kind and welcoming. Everyone was lovely, helpful, and kind from the woman at reception to the women who served breakfast. | Sovana is a beautiful and picturesque town. I hope to return someday and stay for longer.

This hotel needs a major renovation. Furnishings are old the pull out couch mattress was 4”thick. The grounds were unkept, although the pool was nice. The breakfast was store bought and not good for what they are charging. The biggest problem is that the air conditioning doesn’t work well. 2 units in our apartment and with both running all day and night it was never cool and was especially hot in the loft area. We were told by management to keep the window shades closed for the air to work- this not only didn’t work but then we felt like we were in a basement- not pleasant on your vacation. There was also no communication regarding the check-in process. There is a specific parking area not easy to find and when you find it you need a code we were not told anything about parking or a code. It was very hot and dark and dungeon-like in the entire hotel. This property misses the mark on many levels.

We spent a couple nights at the Sovana Hotel and Resort in what was, for us, a luxurious upgrade from our reservation at Albergo Scilla. We were in the area to visit sites of Etruscan ruins, and Sovana itself was a charming village.||Beyond the basics of clean and comfortable, the spacious and tastefully decorated accommodations and the verdant grounds with pool, fountain, and lovely foliage were enchanting. There were several lovely sitting areas in the common spaces. A large “continental” breakfast (as far as I know, there were no hot dishes offered) was included, with juice, hot drink, and choices of yogurt, fruit, pastries, meat, cheeses, etc. We didn’t have a lot of contact with staff, but what we did have was professional and competent.||Of course, we were paying €65/night for a room at the less luxurious (we suppose!) hotel owned by the same family. Our room here listed at €200/night, so, if we had been paying that, our expectations might have been different! We would happily give the Albergo Scilla a try if we return one day!

This hotel was very old outdated and the air did not work well. Our room was very hot despite the 2 air conditioners running all day and night. The unit in the family/loft area would only run on low the one in the master bedroom ran on high, however it still never got cool in the room. The grounds were over grown and not well maintained. The management did not give information about where the parking was ( it was not easy to find and had a gate and code) or how to check in. The breakfast was store bought and not acceptable for the amount you pay for rooms. Even the toiletries provided smelled old. Be careful if you book on booking.com Expedia or Hotels.com as they don't allow people who stayed there (but booked elsewhere) write reviews.
