I can’t get enough of Soy & Ginger Wok Grill! Their beef and broccoli is always on point—tender beef and fresh broccoli in a flavorful sauce that makes each bite so satisfying. The chicken wings are crispy and packed with flavor, definitely one of my go-to orders. The house special fried rice is another highlight—perfectly cooked with just the right mix of ingredients. The portions are generous, and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. If you're craving amazing Asian cuisine, Soy & Ginger Wok Grill never disappoints!

Google
Cheap expensive food - not worth the money at all. You might think because it’s expensive it actually tastes decent but in fact it’s the opposite. The food has no flavor and you will get small portions. No sauce just bad food. Don’t recommend.

John Jerger

Google
One of the better Asian restaurants we've gone to in the area, but still not great. Our fried dumplings were a little burned and we weren't offered any hot sauce. They seem to be more about takeout than dining in.

Dylan Portugal

Google
Never had most disgusting Chinese food ever in life. I will never go back again . They need learn how to cook some sesame chicken. I know I can cook better than them 😅. Save your money and your time. I wouldn’t even feed it to my family.. you shouldn’t either.

Google
Everything is great wonderful staff food is great well prepared I highly recommend this spot if you want Good Chinese food

Google
We order 3 different orders, the food tasted ok. But the portions were very small, the chicken lomein had barely any chicken, same with chicken broccoli. They increased the prices substantially but portion size have been reduced greatly… expensive compared to other Chinese places in the area…

Google
Very nice and clean restaurant,Ordered here several times,Food was always fresh and delicious,My favorite pepper steak with onions and sambal prawns.Amazing

Google
Food is full of flavors, excellent sesame chicken😁

Yelp
Food is great and for a reasonable price. Food is always hot when it arrives and consistently delicious. Recently got the beef with broccoli and sesame chicken and all the food was perfectly seasoned and flavorful

Yelp
I gave them 1 star because the lady wipe her runny nose as I was paying prior to them cooking, I asked for them to wash their hands and her reply was don't worry about because the food is cooked in high temperature. If you noticed they grab the food with their hands and no gloves on. Very frustrating to argue for a refund when they think they are in right and keep talking about high temperature. Definitely pissed and will take an L on this one. With virus and the law of washing your hands I shouldn't even have to ask. Again even after asking it was an issue.

Yelp
Usually everything is better here but tonight is a mixed experience. Chicken nuggets came very mushy and didnt even taste right. Bag everything was deliverved in was leaking and some of the rice containers were half open. No chop sticks even though I specifically asked for some. The shrimp and broccoli tasted a bit burnt - not sure if the cooking oil needs to be changed. General Tso's is good and rice is good,

Yelp
It was my first time going to Soy and ginger. The lo mein dish is so good. And very different than many restaurants. The front desk lady was super nice and helpful with my order. She guided me in ordering for my kids and my family. She was helpful with what they may like. My kids were really satisfied with the general tos chicken the pieces they offer seemed to be larger than most places which was a plus will definitely be back here

Yelp
This place deserves 10 stars. Yeah I said it. My family and I have been fans for a couple years now so i'm very ashamed to have only written a review now. The people who run this place work very hard and every single time we order from them they sound so wiped out and in a terrible mood, but I don't even care because the food is consistently exceptional. Yes, it is pricier than regular trash chinese takeout, which don't get me wrong has its' time and place. BUT this place, is the GOAT of chinese takeout places. The sauce is not riddled with obscene amounts of cornstarch, they don't use mysterious cuts of meat, and the "mixed veggies" does not include 3 pieces of rotting broccoli, canned baby corn, and a sliver of cabbage. Here are my top 3 picks: 1. General Tso chicken- amazing, perfectly battered and crisp. So crisp you speculate why and how it is so crisp even after your 25 min commute home. 2. literally anything else under the Wok section. The veggies are always perfectly looked and never soggy 3. The eggrolls because everyone loves a crispy eggroll. ok full disclosure, I love this place, but the lo mein was a miss. Seriously try anything else and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
The egg drop soup has some gelatinous goop in it. MSG? Who knows? Also, please change the cooking oil.

Yelp
A pretty upscale storefront Chinese takeout restaurant! Take a look at the pictures of the restaurant and the food! Not your typical Chinese takeout place! Choose from a variety of cooking styles and sauces for you meal. As always, pretty much everything is made to order. In my experience, the ingredients have always been fresh and the food always good! Prices may be a little higher, but for me, it's certainly worth it! Check them out!

Yelp
Eat here if you like super oily and burnt tasting food that results in stomachaches. Some things were actually burnt and some just tasted burnt. Obvious that oil isn't changed and woks aren't cleaned. Oil was DRIPPING after every bite from the egg roll. It was gross. Never again.

Yelp
Recently got takeout from this restaurant and my boyfriend and I absolutely loved it! We ordered beef with broccoli, shrimp tempura, sesame chicken, and salmon salad- they were delicious, not very greasy, and had the perfect amount of seasoning.
google avatar

Yelp
Zero improvement, this time around. Four different dishes, each one flavorless, bordering on inedible! My wife made the mistake of ordering a large spare ribs, and again we opened the container to find five tiny baby backs, barely enough to satisfy one person! Soy & Ginger ... yucch! We won't be back!

Yelp
I'm trying to find a reason to dislike this place. I really have no complaints. We used Door Dash. The soup (complimentary) arrived super hot. I fly to Asia often for work and don't enjoy dumplings but their pan fried were awesome. The scallion pancake was good. The star was the fried rice and sesame chicken. Huge junks of white meat with minimal breading. Super flavor. Def a fan of this joint. Support Family Owned Business.

Yelp
I recently visited this restaurant and spent over $150. All takeout Chinese restaurants that I have visited in the past typically will give you a can of soda, egg roll or something else to show their gratitude for spending a certain dollar amount. This place told me I had to pay $2 for that soda after spending that amount. You can't be a neighborhood restaurant and not show some sense of appreciation for the residents that support your business. We used to visit this restaurant at least once a week, but going forward they will not get a penny from me. Anyone I come into contact within Livingston will also hear my story

Yelp
My husband and I just ordered delivery from here. My husband literally hates Chinese food, scoffs at me whenever I even mention ordering it. That said both the options we ordered were delicious. I got the (Spicy)Chicken w/ garlic sauce combo and he got the Szechuan peppercorn with chicken .... For what it's work he said "I'll definitely order from here again " and my one year old devoured the dumpling soup. We did not experience any blandness, quite the opposite actually, it was very clean and flavorful. The vegetables tasted like they were seared or grilled over fire -- so yummy.

Yelp
This place is hit or miss. You have to know what their strong suits are. They make great shrimp and broccoli filled with marinated garlic and a non traditional brown sauce. A pretty good general Tso chicken though also not typical Chinese American food. They have their own style. Their fried rice is really good and the food is always fresh. They seem forever understaffed which makes lunch time pretty tight if not planned in advance. I've tried their "big bowl noodle soup " and let me just save you a few bucks on that one. They have a great peanut crusted salmon. As stated, not traditional Chinese American food but great Asian fresh food. Do not try their pad thai. Think wok specialties.

Desiree N.

Yelp
I do not know what happened to this restaurant. The food has deteriorated. I ordered honey ribs with beef fried rice. The rice was tasteless. The beef in it was dry and hard. They gave three little pieces of ribs with it. It was not worth the seventeen dollars I paid.
google avatar

Ritesh D.

Yelp
This is by far one of the best local Chinese i have had. Tasty, affordable and most importantly does not even feel like a local Chinese pick up. The place is clean, food is fresh, serving is fast and is aesthetic for the price it serves. A very good friend of mine recommended this place to me, as it is his hometown. And i am thankful for it.

Yelp
Got the Wok Star tofu stir fry in broccoli soy ginger sauce. Flavor was robust but not overpowering. Broccoli was perfectly cooked. Tofu was nice and crisp on the outside and soft inside. All over some white steamed rice.

Pam S.

Yelp
We have been going here since the beginning of the covid outbreak and have NEVER had anything but a stellar meal. The food is fresh and portions generous, lots of good vegis. Our favorites include Beef chow fun with extra vegetables, Thai Coconut curry, kung pao and wok string beans w tofu. Even the salad was nice. Am sure there are lots of other good items but we like our favorites. The staff work very hard but are always helpful and listen to the orders so they are correct. It's a little more expensive but totally worth it.
google avatar

Irene W.

Yelp
My review is solely based on their general tso's chicken. I don't ever usually order general tso's since I wouldn't consider it to be "authentic" Chinese, but my husband tried it at work and claimed this is by far the best he's ever had. Main reasons being: crispy thin layer of batter (other places cover tiny pieces of chicken with too much batter), BIG pieces of white meat chicken, hint of chili pepper spice that anyone can handle and enjoy. Not sure we would get any of the other food on the menu but their general tso's really is top notch.
google avatar

Sindhu S.

Yelp
This is small take out place but the food is overall good. this is my 3rd time here. Usually I order for delivery at work. This time I had the Szechuan peppercorn chicken and boneless spare ribs combination platter which were both yummy. It is a little on the overpriced side for a Chinese take out place but worth it. The lady at counter wasn't too friendly though.

Yelp
Really quite surprised by this place! We were hearing good things about Soy and Ginger for a while and it turns out they were on point! From the look of the place you would think it's just any other grimy Chinese carryout, the place is tiny and greasy looking and there is minimal seating but it's defiantly hiding a gem! The food was impressively good! We had chicken and broccoli and shrimp lo me in and they were both fantastic! No carryout place has such fresh tasting broccoli and nice quality steamed shrimp! I was a little skeptical at first because of the prices, it's a little bit expensive for a carryout however the food totally lives up to the hype! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Avi P.

Yelp
Best sesame chicken I've ever had. All chicken breast and perfectly cooked. Everything we've had from here has been good, and it's our go to Chinese take out spot
google avatar

Vanessa O.

Yelp
I can't say one bad thing about this place . The cleanliest, freshest chinese food I've had ! I work around the area and every time I'm here I HAVE to order! So delicious, a must to try !!

Lynn S.

Yelp
I have gone here now over 5 times and I will say that the flavors are spot on and the vegetables and protein are always fresh however, each time I have ordered from here the food is constantly sitting in so much oil that I have to remove the food from the sauce each time. Each time I went back hoping the excessive oil would be resolved but no, all 5 times my food is drenched in so much oil that it has gotten to a point I just cant eat here anymore. The last two orders I specifically put on the order instructions- DO NOT USE ALOT OF OIL/LIGHT OIL please. They still didn't listen, matter of fact the last order had so much grease, you can see about a half inch of grease pooling at the top. It is a shame this simple fix they can't seem to get right has caused me to discontinue eating here.
google avatar

Ellen P.

Yelp
We ordered takeout for a late lunch, early dinner. I ordered Pad Thai Chicken. Extra veggies I've never had in Pad Thai. My husband ordered Curry Chicken. Both were significant size portions, enough for another meal. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
We love this place and have been ordering from here for years. Lots of veggies that are perfectly cooked mixed into the entrees (I dont like soggy, overcooked, greasy food I find at most Chinese places). Quick service. Good size portions. I also greatly appreciate that we can order and have the food in 20 min during quarantine while most places require ordering hours in advance.
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
First impression was not a good one. Placed an order on grubhub because they seemed to have good reviews. Food came on time. However, they messed up big time. Two things were missing from the order as well as them sending a small soup when we ordered a large. They refused to send us what we ordered us when asked. We didn't want a refund, we wanted our food! Got the nerve to give attitude as well. NEVER AGAIN!
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
By far my favorite Chinese restaurant in Livingston! The food is obviously made fresh to order and from scratch. My favorites items from this location are general chow chicken, honey BBQ ribs, duck, chicken Lo mein and eggplant in garlic sauce. The quality and quantity of the food also make this restaurant a great value.
google avatar

Janice T.

Yelp
My go-to takeout restaurant for general tso chicken! The chicken pieces are much larger and crispier. Can't eat general tso from anywhere else now.
google avatar

Lorne W.

Yelp
Um....its not chinese food. LoMein was not authentic....it was Ronzoni thin spaghetti. Im not making this up. I was shocked. The veggies and tofu dish was truly tasteless and greasy. Spring rolls were no more than 2inches long and thin for $1.75 a piece. General Tso chix was odd. It came with a small amount of greasy asparagus, not steamed broccoli with the delicious Tso sauce that everyone gets Tso for. What a waste of money.

Yelp
Welp, I've found my new Chinese spot near work. Soy and ginger was quite a treat for lunch today. I had the chicken and broccoli with brown rice (sauce on the side) and a wonton soup. I got 3 wontons in the soup which is a score since usually places get chinsey on they dumplings for lunch specials. My chicken and broccoli was very good. Very good portion size and the chicken was cooked just right. Broccoli also was cooked well. My lunch didn't take too long to come out. Another thing that struck me about this place was how clean it was which made me happy. The menu had a few Thai items too which appealed to me but I wanted my chicken and broccoli fix. Service was friendly and prompt. Cafe 88 could learn a thing or two from S&G. I'll definitely be back. Only bummer was that I never got a fortune cookie! Shucks..

Laura B.

Yelp
Was disappointed in chow fun. The meat in the house order was hard and dry and seemed to have been previously cooked and then thrown in with the noodles. The assorted dumplings were over cooked and bland. I did enjoy the pork dumplings but not enough to order from them again.
google avatar

Tristan B.

Yelp
My go to place in town for Chinese food take out. Interior is clean and there is seating, with pretty new renovations. For a fast food Chinese place, this is 5 star easily. I also like that there's no msg in the food. The food itself is probably on par or better than the average Chinese fast food place. A family runs this business, so it is nice to support the local people as well.

Le Arbiter O.

Yelp
Food is very low on flavor and seasoning. Ordered Thai coconut curry, shrimp fried rice and pork egg rolls and all were among the worst I've had. For $30 very disappointed.
google avatar

Jim S.

Yelp
Egg rolls are made with real pork not that crumbled up orange stuff you get from other Chinese restaurants. Very good wonton soups - one of the best. Great broth small delicious dumplings. Pork fried rice has huge chunks/ sliced real pork. Both the kung po chicken and chicken chow fun were both tasty and not oily.
google avatar

Ann D.

Yelp
The place is small. It looks like a takeout place from the outside but there is a dine in option inside. The staff is friendly. We ate in and sat at a small cute table by a window with an orchid. We were very hungry so the wait time probably seemed longer than it really was. Food presentation was better than expected. The quality of the food tasted fresh and real - like real chunky portions of fresh meat. We will be back for sure! The only draw back is parking - not many spaces available on a weekday during lunch hour.

Robert F.

Yelp
Soy and Ginger has the best General Taos chicken. I love coming here for lunch...I recommend this place to anyone.
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
I ordered from Soy & Ginger weekly the food was good ,Fast delivery and then they must have changed cooks food is horrible don't order on Mondays you get left overs from the weekend and their prices are high$

David S.

Yelp
If you want fresh , tasty and right hits the spot, you need to go here. I ordered the Asian grilled chicken and yum, yummy in the tummy. NO grease. My new hot spot

Hanna K.

Yelp
Food came quick. Hot sour soup: more like black pepper soup, not hot warm. Pad Thai: noodles had no sauce on them at all.. no flavor. Compelte waste of money General chicken: I've eaten this every time I try a new Chinese take out spot and man did they mess this up. Does not taste like general tso at all Highly disappointed will never try here again
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Decent food but the owners getting into a fist fight while families are eating a few feet away on the patio in Marra's was inexcusable. 7 police cars and an ambulance ruined quite a few people's evenings.
google avatar

Clifford S.

Yelp
I like the food here. Its eclectic, fresh and delicious. If people think the delivery service isn't fast enough, let 'em pick it up. I think it's worth it. I usually just eat here. I remember once ordering delivery and had no issues. I took my brother here who visited from Thailand and he just went gaga their honey-glazed ribs. This is a great little place. Better than your average Chinese take out.

Shanisa H.

Yelp
The food is a step up from regular Chinese. I love the fried rice and the prawns. I would definitely suggest this place if you want great take out food.
google avatar

Dana D.

Yelp
Love this place ordered twice so far everything is fresh best chicken and broccoli not like the usual . This will be my go to place from now on
google avatar

Zoe B.

Yelp
Just finished our delivery dinner from Soy Ginger. To give credit where it is due, the thai basil tenderloin dish was tasty and well balanced, but they forgot our side of brown rice. Delivery took an hour and 15 to arrive although we are only 2 miles away. No utensils were included whatsoever (no chopsticks, nothing.) $8 order of pork fried rice was colorless and flavorless. We were totally underwhelmed by the $8 dim sum sampler (cold & soggy, and the vegetable dumplings were tasteless). At more than a dollar per dumpling we expected mediocrity at best. To top it off, this morbid fortune found its way into my cookie: "Be cautious while walking in darkness alone." Creepy. I think we will stick to Dragon Garden from now on, just wish they had delivery!

Yelp
Ordered take out three nights in a row from Soy and Ginger!!!! Everyone at my job was more than pleased with the food quality, price, and speedy delivery.... and we are picky...Top place for us night shift workers to order from!! Chicken lettuce wraps: top rated item we order Big noodle bowls: yum Asian Chicken Salad: yum yum

Yelp
Hit or miss. I've eaten in and gotten delivery before. The lunch specials are affordable and you get a lot of food for what you pay for. What I feel this place lacks is good service and organization, as well as the inconsistencies in the quality of food. We ordered delivery tonight at 6:15 pm, with food promised by 7 pm. When 7 pm came and went, I called the restaurant to check on the status of my order, and before I could complain, the lady on the phone rudely said it was on the way. It didn't arrive until 7:40 pm, a good 1.5 hours after I had placed my order. Mind you, I live less than 5 minutes away, and if I wasn't very pregnant with two hungry, demanding toddlers, I would have just walked over to pick up. To top it off, the food was meh. We ordered the pineapple fried rice (where are the pineapples??), Pad Thai (decent, though not the real stuff of course), and a honey chicken thing for our kids (which honestly tasted a bit burned). The whole meal costs us $30 - not super worth it. All in all, I don't think I will go back but then again, there is really not a single Chinese restaurant in this area that I would crave for.

Marian J.

Yelp
This is a place that warrants 0 stars...too bad yelp insists on being generous with a minimum 1 star rating. General Tso's chicken came in HUGE chunks with bland yet cloyingly sweet sauce. Lo mein really did use thin pasta noodles like another reviewer said. The eggplant was soggy and again, bland. Took 2 bites of each dish and threw them all out in the trash where they belong. 3 super simple yet totally inedible dishes from this establishment. Don't waste your time or your money!
