Everything went perfectly. The room was warm and comfortable. SPA area and pool beautiful and relaxing. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful location. Highly recommended!

Really nice place and we had a nice time there. Only thing was the spa area was kind of smaller than expected, but it was fine enough. The info at our arrival from the reception was kind of lacking but we found our way around and the settled in at our nice room. It was better than expected, and we had booked half board. The dinner was great and the staff very friendly.. Breakfast was very well assorted as well so thumbs up for the food all in all.

Above average hotel. I went here back then in 2014 and barely saw changes to the hotel. The rooms are nice and comfy thought a little small so is the bathroom. Hallway and walls a little scetchy. Breakfast was very good with serving almost all things needed. The dinner also was good thought the service terrible since we had to always ask to have a new bottled water. Pool and Spa area is very nice especially the outside with vision both on the city and mountains. The location is amazing as it is directly in the Center of Bad Aussee. I would not come here again if I had the chance to go somewhere else, thought if not I wouldn’t really have a problem coming here again.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Spa Hotel Erzherzog Johann. Our room was very spacious and nice, as was the bathroom. We also had a nice sized balcony. We didn't realize that we had half board and received dinner each night but we thoroughly enjoyed it as it was plentiful and delicious. The breakfast was also excellent with a very large selection. We seemed to be the only English speakers staying at the hotel in this rather remote area, although most of the staff spoke English and were very nice and helpful. The indoor/outdoor pool was lovely and we took a swim everyday. The only bad experience we had and it was NOT the fault of the hotel, was on the Saturday night we were there, someone had a wedding reception right outside the hotel, which went on, with very loud techno music, until after 3 in the morning. We would highly recommend this spot!

A very nice hotel in an incredible beautiful emperor place of Styria, with the best view from your balcony. Very nice room with all the amenities, very kind employees, good but not special breakfast, not good at all the lunch snack, BUT an EXCELLENT dinner menu!!! Chef must only correct his crême brûlée. His caramel on top of it was not crispy and crunchy and strong at all. Was almost melted with the crême. The sauna, the swimming pools and spa really good.

Wonderful hotel . Has a lot to offer . Wooden rooms with the great view , saunas , pools indoor and outdoor . Very good masseur . Delicious food with a big variety and made of local products ; the farmers butter haven’t taste since childhood, here got it again :) very good desserts and dinners. most of the personal is smiling and kind. Only drawback for us was a baby bed for our 7 month old son. Somehow old, often used and not so comfortable. Guess we need to take the own bed next time.

We chose the hotel because of the Gault Milleu rating of its restaurant. At the end of a family weekend in the mountains, on the eve of my birthday, we wanted a nice dinner. The hotel itself was far from what we expected after reading about its glorious history and prestige (and paying what we did), although it did not disappoint in terms of comfort: we had stylishly decorated, modern rooms with pleasant balconies and views of the surrounding scenery. The beautifully appointed spa on the top floor of the hotel was a welcome treat: we enjoyed a quick swim and a brief sunbathing after my birthday hike to scenic Grundlsee. The hotel staff were generous enough to let us stay in one of our rooms until|3pm, allowing us to change and enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace before our journey home. The real highlight of our stay though, was our dinner: the four-course meal was caringly served, meticuously prepared and attractively presented, accompanied by an excellent wine. Breakfast on the sunny terrace was equally pleasant. |Excellent meals in a comfortable, no-nonsense hotel.
