A must stop destination during your Beppu trip. Its a wonderful creative space. My partner and I booked the calligraphy class and lantern making class through via tour and it was a lovely experience. It was super intimate, and fun. Also, they spoke great English. I highly recommend!

We booked a private walking tour and met our tour guide Loi at the trainstation. He gave us thorough insight in the steaming quaters of Beppu. We really enjoyed his company and his explanation throughout the entire tour. Chatting with him was a real plus in this tour which was as informative as it was entertaining. A guide and a tour you would not want to miss out

We had a delightful time making bamboo lanterns at Space Beppu; the staff were kind, amazing people who guided and encouraged us in making something beautiful! All of the staff spoke excellent English, making conversation very easy for us. We greatly enjoyed our visit and would love to come again!

Must visit for anyone seeking a calm space to learn a new craft or just enjoy some good coffee.
I did a caligraphy class which was intimate and very pleasant. No rushing and you can practice as much as you want till you do youe final Kanji on a page to take home. English speaking teachers are locals and can even give some restaurant recommendations. Great experience

My mom and I did a calligraphy class and had an amazing time! Riko was so lovely and did a great job in teaching us about the different Japanese alphabets and their uses. I would highly recommend this experience to those who are looking for a hands on way to learn more about Japanese culture.

Wonderful experience. Authentic activities. Gentle walk through back streets and away from throngs of tourists. We did the visit and lesson with teacher of the Japanese harp. Just magic. Visit to a local artist studio collective and then The Space. Thank you to Audrey for sharing the real Beppu with my group.
