"Where to Buy Used (and New) Records in Berlin The Spacehall Record Store is THE place to go to buy new or used records in Berlin . With plenty of listening stations, you can be sure you're buying quality music. The space-like interior features some comfy (if not odd-shaped) couches and simple but quirky touches of design. Check out the room in the back to find good deals on used records. Or if you want some novelty band/DJ T-shirts, try the section up front."

It must definitely be a setup, and the staff must be playing a specific role to maintain the store's legendary "love me or hate me" reputation—there's no other explanation. You couldn't be that rude even if you tried 😂. Currently, orders and pickups are unavailable due to internal issues, and the staff clearly won't help you find the records. So why keep the friendly Post-it notes inviting people to ask for assistance? It just ruins the vibe. However, the store is stunning, with a classic Berlin style and an extensive selection of electronic and techno music. It might put you in a bad mood, but you're sure to leave with satisfying purchases.

Just accidentally stopped by and found a real gem at the Hifi Pop Up inside the store. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing store, huge selection and a lovely guy on the front desk. Yes it's cash only but there is an ATM across the street. Yes it smells of cigarettes when you walk in, so what. You go for what you can find there and I walked out with some fantastic vinyl. As a tourist I loved it

Poor condintion… really expensive prices, the most “cheaper” price is 8.50&

Probably my most favourite place in the world 🤓 Wide selection of records (mainly vinyl, but also CDs), friendly helpful staff, all kind of music genres, but heaven especially for electronic music lovers - large room in the back of the store, stuffed with thousands of records, is dedicated only to all kind of subgenres of techno, house, minimal, dnb, breakbeat, dubstep etc. I attach photos from my first visit in 2016, but they are still relevant even now in 2024. Will definitely come back any time again when in Berlin.

Very rude. I called to ask if a cd is available and the guy literally hang up on me after telling me that the cd I was looking for is not available. Literally after saying "nein" he hang up! - Do not wonder why we purchase cds online these days. With such attitude I am not interested in supporting this small record shop..

Good selection of records from many genres. The techno and rock departments are well stocked and I was able to find some great records. Friendly staff

Nice house collection and big techno assortment of records which I visited a couple of times. However, I had a very bad experience with the shop owner. Apparently drunk on a bad day, and after being triggered by new visitors making a fuss in the store, he offloaded out his anger on me / started insulting on me out of nowhere, sometime complaining he was angry how I cleaned the records from dust with my hands (as if you can’t politely make a remark about that first), or that he didn’t like my “type”, or face, or race, or whatever for that matter — he just complained he doesn’t like my type/generation of people as he “can’t exchange with them / they don’t care about the music” (which is kinda ridicilous/laughable as I’m an audiophile / music addict). Whatever, the whole episode was kinda surreal, I was insulted repeatedly for no reason, I was nearly shooed out just because the owner said he had anger building up after X years of running the store and noticing some “trends (which I seemingly represented a scapegoat for). When he started swearing words about “my generation not understanding anything”, I knew it was just blind anger directed at me for somebody else’s fault / nothing I did or didn’t. Or homophobia for that matter, or just outright racism with him “not liking my type”. In any case, I will never go back to this store.
