We were looking around not sure of what to have and Spaghetteria had no room left outside and seemed like everyone was enjoying their meal and it didn't disappoint. My wife and I ordered the Arrabiata and the Garlic, pistachio and pecorino spaghetti and they both were delicious. Fantastic service, good portion size and my wife finished the meal off perfectly with the Tiramisu. A lovely meal to start her 40th birthday weekend celebrations off in Amsterdam! Thank you

Google
Great place! I enjoyed the patio space and the pasta was great; I can't believe its a chain. I just wish that they had a bit more selection as the menu is limited, would definitely come again.

Google
Went there for carbs loading the day before the marathon. What a great chocie. Pasta was great. When we received the plates, we thought that quantity was not enough, but we figured out later that is was. Highly recommended.

Google
We ordered two pastas, the pastas were good to my liking. The service was good and the food arrived fast. The menu is quite small and it is a pasta joint, so don't expect too much variety. Most of the menu is vegan. The person who served us was friendly and helpful. We found a place as soon as we reached there and it was served quickly.

Google
A decent Italian place that you will find convenient options across the city. They don’t have a wide menu but their plates are satisfyingly good portioned and have a decent taste. Not The best but still a good option. Staff are super friendly and helpful

Google
Such a lovely place! The atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming. The staff are very kind and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable. We tried the pasta and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Google
Was pleasantly surprised by this place. The 2 pasta dishes tried were fantastic. Simple but very good. I do wish the menu had a little more variety. 3 of the pastas were only slight variations of each other. Wine glasses came out dirty but was quickly replaced. Wine could have been colder.

Google
Had a wonderful time here. Beautiful ambient, great food, italian atmosphere and very friendly staff. Me and my boyfriend shared Pappardelle con Ragu and Creste di gallo con salsiccia and we recommend both. 10/10 from us! :) Ps. One of the best Tiramisu in my life!

Yelp
Italian restaurants is the international comfort food and dot the landscapes of many cities. Their menus are familiar with little twists of interpretation. In a part of Willibrordusbuurt on a quiet corner sits an affordable gem called Spaghetteria. It is a bustling one room flurry of conversation and wait staff running around. There is one large communal table. See an empty chair? Take it. The menu is on a clip board. Get a glass of wine, a salad and a pasta dish. The ravioli with butter sage was great. Feeling adventurous? Strike up a conversation with a stranger. I really liked all aspects of this place. Sometimes it is hard to get the attention of a waitstaff. The missed an order entry but glad they forgot it. We had Tiramisu for dessert. For two people with two drinks, two pastas, one dessert and two cappuccinos was about 70 euros.

Yelp
Place was empty at 6pm on a Thursday so there was no atmosphere when we arrived. Menu was very minimal but we enjoyed our food. Nice but wouldn't be rushing back.

Yelp
My wife and I strolled over for a last minute dinner on our last night in Amsterdam. Friendly accommodated young staff ( we are seniors). Felt right at home and our pasta dishes where excellent.

Yelp
Great Italian food in an small, open seating restaurant with great vibes. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the super fresh pasta and friendly staff. I had venison for the first time in my pasta dish and it was really good! I thought the prices were very reasonable for such high quality food!

Yelp
So yummy!!! We got there right at 5 when they opened and we were glad we did. The place filled up super fast! The inside is cozy and has great soft lighting and atmosphere. As described in other reviews, there is one big community table where you will be seated with other parties. And there are two bar-type seating areas where you can also sit with other people. The service was really fast and the waiter was very nice to help explain the menu. There were about 6 items on the list and 2 were vegetarian. There is a salad option as well. The portions were quite large! I got the first one on the list which was a pasta with red sauce (because I'm a vegetarian) and my boyfriend got the veal dish. Both were amazing! Mine was so tasty and spicy! Yum! We had the tiramisu for dessert and it was wonderful! It was served uniquely in a bowl and was very creamy. Loved it! I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for an option for Italian! Tips: - Arrive early. - Go to the counter to pay for the bill. - If you opt to sit at the bar seating by the window, be aware if you're near the door it may be a little chilly (BUT there is a heater under the table which helps tremendously!)

Yelp
There are a few of these in the Amsterdam area, but this is the one I'm reviewing. Not sure if the others have the same menu or not or even the same dining area. This location has a huge square table that seats about 16-20 people. In addition they have about 8 seats at a bar top. No private tables here. Plan to rub elbows w/ strangers and make some friends while eating some great food! These location only offers 6 dishes. They don't have an English menu, but the staff will gladly explain to you what each item has. We choose to have: Pappardelle w/ venison & black ink squid pasta. The black squid was SO good! It had SO much flavor! The Pappardelle was good as well, but it didn't have much flavor. I would've given the restaurant 5 stars, but when our food got served we were asked to move down in the direction closest to the door, where the cold air was coming in. All so another party could sit down, even though they could've sat near the door. I thought it was rude to ask us to move w/ our food in front of us.

Yelp
This quaint little restaurant has amazing food and a homey atmosphere. There is one large farmhouse table in the middle of the room where most people sit. They also have bar seating against the windows so you can people watch as you eat. This place would be great for a big family that wanted to sit at the large table, or for a date if you sit at the bar seating by the windows. I ordered the Arrabiata and it was perfectly spicy. I even added some spice with the chili oil on the table because I told the server not to make it too spicey. I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to spice. My hubby ordered the Creste di gallo con salsiccia Toscana classica. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The Creste had huge chunks of mushroom, sausage and onion. The tomato sauce tasted so fresh and I loved the olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table to dip our bread in. This was the only place in Amsterdam that had water already on the table. That is such a welcome treat for thirsty Americans!

Yelp
What a fun out-of-the-way place to drink wine and eat great food. We felt like locals as the tables filled up and we were suddenly among a fun and noisy group of cool people. We love finding places off the beaten path and this is now one our favorites. The pasta was amazing! Get there earlier than 7pm as it fills up fast. We sat outside on a picnic table and were joined by a foursome. The group next to us were constantly greeting friends as they rode by. Hilarious. We'll be back!

Yelp
This is around the corner from our AirBnb, so of course we had to try it. The owners/staff are sweet, the food is delicious, and the drinks very good. I would definitely go back - and probably will! We enjoyed the limoncello, but it was the Sgroppino that stole the show. Prosecco, limoncello, and lemon sorbetto all blended up into a delicious slushy Italian margarita.

Yelp
I loved the vibe in here. Finally a restaurant with plenty of Gluten-free dishes to choose from. Tonight I enjoyed a wondeful gluten-free pasta mussel dish for dinner. I enjoyed everything about the place, concept is simple, but pleasantly nice. FYI--to parents who bring their kids in here, please try to manage your children. Keep in mind the space is tight in there, so please leave the big toys off the table when people are eating, since we are sharing one big table. However, I look forward to returning back here again soon with Dutchman. I can't believe I just found out they serve gluten free pasta dishes. I would like to thank -Yourlittleblackbook.me for the gluten-free Amsterdam guide. The Service at Spaghetteria was excellent, guys keep up the good work!

Yelp
The pasta dishes are delicious! We each had something different and they were equally delicious. Service was great.

Yelp
We had such a great experience here tonight.! We arrived from SF this morning and We wanted to have a nice dinner so we came across this place on yelp and we decided to give it a try. Uff, the food was phenomenal and the guys at the kitchen are so fun and very nice! Even though we didn't have a reservation we decided to stay and wait for around 45 minutes until we got seated but let me just say it was totally worth it! Thank you guys! Great job !

Yelp
I'm usually overly positive about the restaurants I go to, but oddly enough the Spaghetteria didn't cut it for me. Maybe it was a poor menu choice on my end, so I might need to give it a second try the next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Finding true gluten free food in Amsterdam was more of a challenge than I anticipated. Most places were confused on the word "gluten" itself, so I ended up sick a few times on my trip. This place understands gluten well & made me feel at ease (and full)! The staff was so friendly & helpful every step of the way explaining what to expect from each item as the menu is only in Dutch. I ended up ordering the first item on the menu (if I could spell it, I'd tell you what it is). Basically, it's a spicy spaghetti sauce with penne-ish noodles - so freaking delicious!! Highly recommend giving them a try while you're here.

Yelp
Don't you feel like cooking today and would like to taste some delicious pasta? Than you definately should try out this place! This place is pretty popular and crowded. There are picknick tables outside. Inside there is a big table where you can eat next to other people if the other places are already full with people. The menu changes sometimes and there are about 8 different pasta to choose from for a good price around 12 euro's!

Yelp
YUM! Spaghetteria is a super cool place for a DELICIOUS bite to eat. The setting: outdoor bench tables or indoor "family style" seating (with a few window seats for those not into dining with strangers). Clean, comfortable and relaxed. The food: the chefs (um, all handsome Dutch men, by the way!) keep the menu fresh - changing the menu every week with a whole new 6 or 8 items to choose from (yep, that's it!) based on the season and whatever the purchased that week. So, you know you're getting fresh food with a creative touch. The wine: great selection - even their house selections are yummy. I've taken several visitors here and most have returned for a 2nd time eating while in town. Talented chefs - good wine - nice seating. Yeah...you should probably go there. Like, tonight. ;)

Yelp
This was probably the BEST pasta I've EVER had!!! The pasta itself was so fresh and the whole dish was delicious. I have a tree nut allergy, and they were very accommodating. This restaurant is a must if you come to Amsterdam!!
google avatar

Brett L.

Yelp
We walked in 10 minutes to closing and they could not have been more accommodating and lovely. Didn't rush us to get out and we ate the most delicious homemade pasta and salads that I would recommend to everyone to try. If you are visiting this is a must stop for dinner

Yelp
great food and service. i love neighborhood joints like this that serve a small but fantastic menu and can accommodate an infant and child easily. highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Delicious choices, we got the spaghetti in mussels and the first selection on the menu which was pasta cooked in a spicy tomato sauce. Great atmosphere, excellent service as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Small menu. Busy place. Limited inside seating. Fun atmosphere We had pappardelle with venison and cock's comb shaped pasta w sausage and olive. Both were delicious with a bottle valpolicella. Reasonable prices. Adequate service. Would definitely go again.

Yelp
Eight dishes on the menu, and we ordered the penne arrabbiata and pasta with clams. Why not 4 stars? Because although the pasta was cooked perfectly and the clams were pretty good, I wanted things to punch me in the face with flavor and that didn't happen. Things to know: - it's far from the city center, about an hour walk, or a circuitous taxi drive costing €13-15. - really relish the cheese! And salt, and olive oil. Those incredible ingredients added major flavor to our dish - if you're like us and add red chili flakes to everything, there is a chili infused oil that is quite awesome instead - the boys that work there all have a look, you'll notice. They're charmers but they will wander outside and are friends with everyone on the street. It's kinda fun to watch, so ladies- if you'd like to have your pasta with a side of teenage/young adult eye candy, go girl.

Yelp
I enjoyed the laid back vibe and simple menu. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious!

Yelp
I totally get Sophia Loren. I mean, pasta is pretty damn awesome. And while it can be quite simple, it is not always easy to make (at least if the result is supposed to be amazing). So, let me rephrase - I have had an astounding amount of bad pasta in restaurants. Not here though. The first time I had the pleasure of trying Spaghettaria's pasta was in June 2014. Ever since, I have been a fan. These days, I frequent the Van Wou branch more often than the one in Oud-West, but the experience remains unblemished. I love the fact that they have only a couple of dishes. That way they can focus on quality. Usually, I get to the place with the intention of ordering something new. However, not ordering the very simple and absolutely delicious Arrabiata is extremely hard. I think that simplicity shows the master. And theirs is so good! Sometimes, I am successful in ordering something else, however, and I can with full confidence recommend the pasta with sausage. In sum: All the plates are very filling. The pasta is fresh, and everything I tried was delicious. The wine-card is very simple (read: do not expect one), but the choices they made fit very well with all the pasta dishes they serve. So,really, nothing to complain about there. They serve one desert. Yes, you have guessed it, it's tiramisu. I think it is allright. I am quite picky though, so I think you should pass your own judgement on it. Objectively, I would say it is nice. Go for the pasta, though, not for the tiramisu. But, oh my - the Pasta!

Yelp
Surprising find. This is a local chain but food is fresh with House-made pasta and interesting ingredients. Great value and inexpensive bottles of Italian wine.
google avatar

Caryn B.

Yelp
Italian place located in a cool part of town. The menu is very small (only had 6 entrees on it when I was there) and rotates often. You can check what's available online. The seating in the restaurant is communal. There are bar seats at the windows, but the majority of the floor space is taken up by the large family table in the center. Fun for sharing with one or two people, but it would make it hard for large groups to talk to each other. 1 star deduction for the price: 14 euros on a pasta dish that wasn't all that super. Minus another star for the portion. It seemed large enough on the plate but strangely I still felt hungry at the end.
google avatar

Nesrin E.

Yelp
The plus: the pastas are homemade. The con: Very ordinary... could use more flavor and creativity!
google avatar

Quinten H.

Yelp
Easy, cheap & homemade pasta's. No reservations possible but one can wait at the 'bar' to be seated. There are 5 pasta's and 2 deserts on the menu, this is what keeps it easy. With prices ranging from 9 to 16? Euros for the pasta's. The atmosphere is also great even though it was really busy (a good sign...). Def recommend this for an easy dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
Been here a few times since it opened, and enjoy the food very much! The penne with a little spice is a very nice flavor. A few drawbacks: it's very small and popular, so it may be hard to find a place to sit. And if you don't like sitting at one big table with other people, you may not enjoy this place. The service is a bit slow as well, and takes a while for food to come out, but it's worth the wait.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
This a nice quaint Italian restaurant. It has a few seats outside with a large table inside in addition to some seating along the walls. At 20:00 when I went the place was decently full with a group of around 5 waiting outside with glasses of wine. As I went alone, I was immediately seated. The food arrive very quickly and was delicious. The portions for the meal were just right for me and I felt as if the meal was well worth it for its price.
google avatar

Miti V.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic (been here twice in a month so clearly loved it!) The place is very crowded Thursdays to Saturdays, so go early. Even otherwise, it's worth the wait. Seating outside is pleasant. The menu is limited but changes frequently. The pastas have a home-made feel and are very reasonably priced. The tiramisu was outstanding. Special mention for the staff who is super friendly. No complaints about this place at all!
google avatar

Holly B.

Yelp
Went here one night pretty late with the family, the pasta was pretty good, I got pasta with mussels, and there was plenty of them, in a white wine sauce. The place is set up like a big-houses dining room, with one huge table that everyone sits around at. Or you can sit at one of the tables outside but they were all full when we showed up since it was pretty late. Overall pretty good pasta and cool set up.

Yelp
Yum!! Delicious pasta and a gorgeous view at the window. What a gem in this neighborhood.

Yelp
My friend and I found this place on Yelp while in Amsterdam and absolutely LOVED it!!!! The food is incredible and the staff is so so nice!! We had a great meal and a great time!! I definitely recommend the spaghetti alla frutti di mare!! If you are in Amsterdam, definitely check out this place!! It's incredible!!

Rubi R.

Yelp
I love this place! Have visited a couple of times now and tired different dishes...the spaghetti vongole and the arrabiatta are my favorite ones, with a glass of dry white wine or a moretti beer. Possible to seat outside or by the window!!! Definitely one of my favorite in Amsterdam!!!

Martin E.

Yelp
Called this place to make a reservation, man on the phone hung up telling me that they don't accept Germans. Very nice service. Thank you!

Tori E.

Yelp
Amazing pasta!!! We ordered the asparagus and meat pasta. The service was good and the restaurant has a great atmosphere with outdoor seating.
google avatar

Kayla F.

Yelp
We walked in 10 min til 10PM and they gracious let us sit and have dinner! The service was awesome, the vibe in the restaurant was very laid back but stylish and the food was delicious! I ordered the #3 Spaghetti alle cozze (mussels & spaghetti in white wine) & my husband ordered the Pipe rigate con salsiccia classica (sausage & pasta). Both meals were absolutely delicious and with 2 glasses of wine, it only cost 36euros! Our Airbnb host recommended the restaurant as one of the best in our neighborhood and I have to agree! It was delicious and something different than the normal pub.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
We ate here last night, the food and service were fabulous. The pasta is the real thing, simple and beautiful. The farm table seating was very cool. Maybe our favorite meal in Amsterdam.
google avatar

Maddy M.

Yelp
My friends and I spent a weekend in Amsterdam and had an incredible experience at this restaurant. Tucked into De Pijp, it felt off the beaten path of the central canal area. Walking in, you're immediately struck by feelings of welcomeness and warmth. A large family style table serves as the seating, and the open kitchen allows you to see your pasta being freshly prepared. We waited 15 or so minutes for spots at the table, during which the very friendly staff (who also happen to be extremely attractive) made sure we were taken care of. When we marveled at one of the chefs making a lemon sorbet, vodka, and prosecco drink in front of us, he gave us a glass of it with three straws to try. That kindness and genuineness was so appreciated. The pasta was delicious and fresh; we tried the arrabiatta, the salmon pasta, and the ravioli. We were super happy from start to finish!
google avatar

Felipe C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with affordable prices. Great to catch up with a friend on a weekday. The menu is not extensive, which makes every dish a daily special.
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
Very good neighborhood place. Large shared table is primary space. Servers are young, friendly and on top of things. I had the mushroom pasta...very good. I may go back again in a few minutes. :)
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Great fun place. Big shared table surrounded by stools tables that look out the Windows. Super friendly staff. Good pasta. Great times. Tira mi su is a real pick me up.

Steph L.

Yelp
Don't be intimidated by the wait here. It's worth it and it usually goes by fast if you're here for an early dinner around 6-7ish. Tried a couple dishes here, but the Calm Spaghetti is my fave. It's a little spicy, but noodles are al dente and the clams are super flavorful. The bread that comes with the dishes are good too. I usually save it for the end so I can soak it up in the sauce. Because, the sauce is the boss. ;)
google avatar

Ana S.

Yelp
Delicious al dente spaghetti and arugula salad. Cool ambiance with lots of Italian magazines. Most people dine around one large table. :-) Really fun experience. Vegans are always welcome.
google avatar

Sherisa D.

Yelp
Ate here once. Wouldn't eat here again. I didn't enjoy how cramped the space was and I didn't enjoy my dish enough to be bothered to return. At least I tried it.
google avatar

Hicky F.

Yelp
Very solid pasta. Great space and dining concept, cost effective as well. Wasn't the most amazing, but was very worth the no-fuss no-frills approach for the price.
