How to Plan the Perfect Trip to Comporta, Portugal

"Easy breezy is the best way to describe Spatia Comporta. The hotel is designed so guests feel an easy flow between the inside and out, with massive floor-to-ceiling windows and doors to heighten the experience. Its Mediterranean-style design and landscaping keep things simple, while its all-white rooms and villas keep things chic. Guests can take advantage of a multitude of services here too, from grocery delivery straight to their villa to readily available bikes, laundry service, in-villa dining, and even pickleball paddles when they want to work up a sweat." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Wonderful Stay with a Few Drawbacks We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel itself is stunning. The pool area feels magical, and although the gym is on the smaller side, it’s well-equipped and perfectly functional. Service throughout our stay was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making us feel welcome and well looked after. A special thank you to Joana at the reception—she was amazing and went out of her way to assist us. Truly appreciated! Breakfast was very good, offering a wide variety of options—everything you could need to start the day. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant one evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality of the food and service was top-notch. The tennis facilities deserve a special mention—very well maintained and enjoyable to use. A big thank you to Ramón, the tennis coach, who was fantastic. The only downside, and quite a significant one, was the noise between the standard rooms. You can hear absolutely everything from the neighboring rooms, which really detracts from the overall comfort—especially given the premium price. For a hotel of this level, better sound isolation is a must. Overall, a lovely experience with just a few improvements needed in room privacy.

We love Spatia so much. We’ve come back for a second time. The service is top tier. They treat you like family!! And the pool is so beautiful. Could spend all summer there 😍😍😍😍. The restaurant is also incredible. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a luxury experience.

Amazing property. Beautiful hotel and villas, great restaurants, pool and tennis courts. The moment you drive in the property feels low key while at the same time upscale. The modern decor really goes with the concept and makes the property look trendy and sleek. We stayed at a villa with a private pool and it was pretty spectacular. We would definitely come again in the summer months. A definite must if you visit Comporta.

Just back from Spatia. The place is beautifully designed, it feels minimalist, quiet luxury. The food was really good at the restaurant, and the breakfast was phenomenal, with a creative menu. Really enjoyed the bike rides from our villa to the main pool, whilst enjoying the pine smell. Now the negative - we booked there to disconnect from busy and noisy London and were seeking absolute calm, the promise of the place. Right on arrival, it was terrible construction noise and vibration we could feel all over the villa, making the floor shake like it’s an earthquake. Despite us flagging our worries the night before whilst leaving the restaurant, the whole mess started again at 8am, ruining the calm experience. We left frustrated and tired. The bed was so nice, I wish I would have enjoy it till 10! Even if we received apologies and a small discount after complaining, this is not ok for the standing of the place, and therefore, I would not recommend to stay at Spatia as they don’t do any disclaimer about the possible nuisance. Some of the staff also lack training, it felt awkward at multiple times. Again, not the level expected for this type of place. The lady who hosted us for breakfast at Spatia Club did a great job and this should be highlighted.

Beautiful, secluded and relaxing venue with a desert landscape typical of the area. The estate is in the middle of a natural forest that is ideal for relaxing bicycle rides nice tennis courts and gym. They have buggies and bicylces to drive around the estate. We stayed at a cabana which was very spacious. The staff is so nice and lots of littles gestures and gifts were given to us throughout our stay. Definitely feels high class but relaxed. A bit far from the beaches but all these types of resorts are. The restaurant has good food - try the local dishes like ensopado borrego. They made our mini honey moon special.

We had a delightful experience at Spatia. The staff was very helpful to organise a surprise for my partner’s birthday and they were impeccable. Breakfast was outstanding, a good variety, quality products and preparations. The room and the rest of facilities in the resort are tastefully designed and decorated.

A beautiful property with bikes to get around and 2 restaurants and pools (adults/family). With the exception of Paulo our Filipino waiter who went over and above, the staff were not particularly attentive or helpful unfortunately.
