This tour was must for us and was highly recommended by several locals. The guide, Dr. Vitka was very informative and historically accurate to the happenings around Salem and the surroundings areas. This was a great tour, coming from someone who is sceptic about ghost.

Tour was very informative and super cool! Our guide was awesome and patient, answering any questions our group had. Living in MA and visiting Salem frequently, I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know and got some cool tips on how to capture paranormal evidence 😁

Highly recommended!! I loved this tour, Dr. Vitka is an excellent storyteller and provides among the very best tours in town. His unique personality comes through in his story telling style. Features real history combined with true crime and true paranormal experiences. The length of the tour was sufficient, but I would have loved at least 1 or 2 more stories. All of it was so interesting that it went by really fast (which is a compliment, because on the contrary, if something is boring it will feel like it’s taking forever to finish!). Thanks Dr.! I went on this ghost tour and it was fantastic! Best tour in Salem. The guide was engaging, very informative, and really set the mood perfectly for the evening. I also appreciated how much care was taken with the safety of the group, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The stories were fascinating, the atmosphere was just right, and it all came together to create a memorable night. Highly recommend!

Our guide was absolutely wonderful. One member of our group wasn’t able to get a ticket because it showed as sold out, but when I called, the guide kindly offered to let them join and simply pay in person. That generosity set the tone for the whole experience. The tour itself was very educational, thoughtful, and well put together. What stood out most was the time and care the guide gave—not only during the tour, but also afterwards when he stayed to answer all of our questions. He welcomed curiosity, whether it was directly related to Salem or more about general paranormal topics, and that made the experience even more engaging. On my visit to Salem, I wanted to make sure I got a local, non-big company tour. I did some research and found Spellbound and saw it met that and was highly rated and booked the 8pm walking tour. I've been to lots of ghost tours all over the country, and I have to say this was one of the best. The stories, the ambiance, the care for the safety of the group, it was great all around. Our guide was a wonderful gentleman who was informative and set the mood perfectly. I'm recently divorced so this was my first alone vacation and was feeling uneasy about doing these things alone, but I'm glad I did. Also, he had a cool top hat. I would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Salem and get a great evening tour.

Great walking tour with Dr. Vitka! It was the most fun history lesson I've ever had and the time flew by. I will recommend this specific tour and guide to anyone I know who will be visiting this part of the country. Even if you are a skeptic about this kind of spooky stuff, it's still very enjoyable. As a millennial, my favorite part was seeing the filming locations from Hocus Pocus!

I understand this is a walking tour and it was an exceptional experience, but I only wish we could've entered at least one location. However, this didn't take away from the enjoyment of walking through Salem at night learning about the town's dark history in regards to the Witch Trials. Our tour guide, Dr. Vitka, was very enthusiastic, humorous, knowledgeable, and notably patient with a particular child on our tour who wouldn't quit talking and interrupting. Impressive to say the least. With a voice and vocal cadence reminiscent of Old radio serials, Dr. Vitka transformed an already fascinating history lesson into a full blown entertaining, fully immersed experience. The subtle gothic manner in which he dressed, the cane he carried, the top hat; all of these things only added to his obvious passion for the history of the Salem Witch Trials and related paranormal activity. Though a skeptic, I whole heartedly believed every word this man said and hung on to every syllable that came out of his mouth, eager to find out how the story ended. We paid $25 a person, for four people, and the Benjamin it took to cover the cost was money well spent. Would definitely consider participating again. Thanks, Dr. Vitka, for a memorable experience in Salem after dark.

Dr. Vitka ran our tour tonight. What a great ghost tour. Would highly recommend. We walked through and around downtown Salem for 90 minutes and heard dozens of stories.

FANTASTIC evening with this amazing tour guide who led us on a mystery packed, historically correct adventure of Salem and it's very long & spooky history. We loved the tour so much we have another trip planned in august and October! Our guide was engaging, had incredible stories about historically important American figures and gave us all a very candid perspective on what happened here on Salem in the 1600's. I recommend everyone needs to know their history on Salem, Massachusetts.

As Dr Vitka will tell you, there's 72 different tours in Salem. I'm glad I chose this one. He has a voice that keeps your attention while listening to the haunting stories of Salem. Of course you get to hear about the Salem Witch trials, the hauntings, the history of Salem, voodoo, vampires, and more. He spent 20 minutes after answering our questions. Cool guy. Sooooooo awesome!! I took the Voodoo, Vampires and Ghost Tour at 8pm yesterday. Our guide Dr Vitka was great! He was descriptive, informative, knowledgeable and intriguing. Even in the rain, he didn't skip a beat or make it feel rushed. I'd definitely go again!

The tour was very interesting and informative. I had heard some of the facts of the witch trials before but our guide was very good at bringing the stories to life and adding many things I hadn't heard before. The group was small and it was really easy to hear the guide and ask questions. Highly recommend this tour to learn the history of Salem.

My daughter (13 y.o.) and I planned a little weekend girl getaway, and decided that a ghost tour was a must! Being 13, she is a fan of all things vampire, ghost, and witch related. Mike was our tour guide. He was very knowledgable about Salem (where to find some great eats) and the Witch Trials. He really brought each story to life and was able to captivate each member of the group. The only problem that I had was that I felt mislead regarding the use of "Vampire" in the title of the tour because all we did was sit on steps while he told us that vampires were real and about the three different types of vampires. I found it to be really irrelevant to the rest of the tour. I was the only one in the group to catch a couple of orbs in a picture at the cemetery, so that was exciting. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this tour to anybody.

Our tour guide was great! You can tell when someone is passionate about the information they are telling you and wants to make sure you are getting the most out of their history lesson. We did this tour at the end of our day trip and wish we could have done this before our day trip so all the things talked about told we could have done more research and ask about it when we did the museums and visited the places mentioned. Night Time = Best Time to go! Salem felt safe walking around at night. Large group of people but wasn't an issue. There were so many tours going on that you'd have many groups staged at different corners of each building or location we stopped at. But who really cares, you're there for fun and learn. Only thing I guess we were hopping for was a little more haunting or scary factor to the tour. But we learned Salem isn't as Haunted or Witchy feeling you might assume from the stories. It's just a town with a past history that the town really tries to keep playing up for tourist, when realistically theres not much left of Witch Trials. Book your tour with these guys!

This was the best Salem experience so far. I teach about the Salem Witch trials, so I already know a few things, but I learned more on this tour. The best part for me was getting to see where certain things took place (Giles Corey being crushed, the place where the acccused were jailed, and more). I also got to learn about some other things dealing with Salem history and the paranormal. The tour guide was an excellent story teller with lots of knowledge about the history of Salem. My kids also enjoyed it, especially my 11 year old. It was not too scary for my 7 year old, but we did go during the day. Strongly recommend this tour!

Dr. Vitka provided an excellent tour of downtown Salem. You can tell he has a passion for what he does. Not only do you learn about the spooky and haunting stories of the Salem witch trials but you also learn about the history of the area and how it came to be. Being that it was October when I took this tour, the whole town was in the Halloween spirit but all the locals say it is like this all year round.

This tour rocks! Dr Vitka was an amazing guide and I couldn't recommend this highly enough for fans of American history and/or the paranormal.

My husband and I took their Voodoo, Vampires, and Ghosts walking tour and loved it. Our guide was fun and informative, and the pace was perfect. You stop and start frequently, so even if you're not much of a walker you could probably handle it. We'd both recommend it.

After doing a ghost tour in Savannah, GA - I had really high hopes for this tour. It was just OK for me. A) First of all, there are multiple tours in Salem and they all meet at the same time and in the same location. So make sure you are meeting with the correct group. I was visiting Salem on my own as my friend's flight didn't land until after midnight. Several comments were made about the fact I was doing the tour by myself. This kind of irked me as a ghost tour was something I was looking forward to. B) The tour is more historical than paranormal from my perspective. Yes, there is mention of the witch trials and some of the people who were involved. But most of the buildings the tour goes by are now office buildings. There was one restaurant that was talked about but we didn't go in it. C) The tour I did spent about 15 minutes talking about vampires and how they frequent Salem. This was toward the end of the tour and at this point, I was mentally checked out and planning my route back to Boston. The tour was just OK for me. If visiting Salem again, I would select a different tour for comparison. The tour guide was charismatic and a good storyteller but overall, this tour just fell flat.

Super disappointed with this company. I was really looking forward to this tour. I Contacted the company twice through emails didn't receive anything back and called over 3 times since July to book in October and was given no resolution or assistance with my reservation. They obviously didn't seem to care about their customers with their lack of response. I booked elsewhere with zero issues and am much more excited to take my business elsewhere where they actually value their customers.

My friend found and planned a Voodo tour for us on our recent trip to Salem. All three of us were interested in seeing the haunted sites and hearing more about the witch hunts. Unfortunately this particular tour fell short for all of us. From a storytelling aspect our guide was great. He was charismatic and engaged and told his tales with vigor and detail. He was also a little winded. He went on and on adding details that although related added nothing to the story and that could be condensed or omitted. Because of the long narration we were left standing at places that really were not interesting "this used to be ________, but now it's just a basic office building" for such long periods of time leaving us bored and uncomfortable. After a few such stops, with neither site being more interesting than the last we walked away from the tour. We were probably about 45 minutes in and completed a total of three stops and heard very little about voodo. While I understand the landscape changes over time it would have been nice to see something original that stood the test of time and was still intact. Take us down a tunnel or basement, show us some artifacts from that time period along with your tale, do something to add "umpth" to the story. Keep it brief and keep it moving to keep your audience entertained and comfortable. Ask about the walk, the sites, the amount of standing, and the story lines when choosing the right tour for you. There's plenty of them to choose from (we passed several groups each with different vibes) and check Groupon first for deals which is where we "scored" this one.

What an amazing time! Our host was awesome as well, his narrative and character made it perfect for the tour. We even took some creepy pictures that ended up showing some orbs and ghostly figures. Love the history and would highly recommend this tour!

Absolutely the best voodoo, vampire and ghost tour in Salem. Dr. Vitka was very animated in his storytelling. You can tell he loves what he does and does actual research in paranormal activity. He really made it a great experience for me. I'd definitely recommend Spellbound tours to anyone. It was the perfect activity for my weekend trip.

I am so glad that I chose Spellbound Tours for our walking tour in Salem! I boughht the tickets based off a Google search months before our trip. While we were walking around Salem during the day before the tour we had 2 random strangers recommend this very tour! Our tour guide Mike was educational and entertaining! Wholeheartedly recommend this haunted tour! Easy 5/5 stars!

We had a tour with Maria tonight and it was the best tour in Salem and we've now been on a few!! She knows her history and seems to love what she does!! We were very happy that we chose her tour!! We would highly recommend her and will be looking her up again next time we're in Salem!!

We spent lots of time researching tours and finally settled on spellbound. The 6pm tour was sold out (Halloween weekend), so we took the 8pm one. We had a lovely tour guide who obviously loved what she does and took pride in delivering the information and facts that their company had researched. The tour itself took us about 1 1/2 hours and we visited a number of locations. Voodoo, vampires, and ghosts...oh my! They delivered on all counts: voodoo with Reverend Parish's slave, present day vampires (even at a local college and a couple on a previous tour), and of course, the many ghosts that you struggle to get some evidence of on camera phones and various other devices. The only thing that sucked was the weather (which they obviously have no control over). It was a freezing, windy, and rainy night and these tours go rain or shine! Our guide did her best to keep us out of the elements (under overhangs, etc). Definitely a fun experience; it's worth the $13 admission.

So much fun! Dr. Vitka was interesting, informative and made this tour fun and spooky. I highly recommend this tour to people who want to learn the factual, yet dark history of Salem.

I have been on this tour once a few years ago. We went back to Salem this year and took a different tour because Spellbound was sold out. I was sad because the last time it was such a great experience. It is history mixed with spooky stories and facts. They tell the creepier side of the town. The tour we took was good but not the same feel. It was much more historical. The guide was great, but they didn't advertise correctly. It just wasn't ghostly at all. The entire time I was saying how sad I was to not have our Spellbound tour guide! He is the best.

Such a fun and informative tour! Even before the tour started, the tour guide was talking to us about paranormal conventions and places in everyone's home states and other places besides just in Salem. The stories on the tour were also lively and very informative. I loved the first hand encounter stories. So glad we booked this tour for our first time in Salem!

My friend and I LOVED this tour. As a skeptic myself, I go on ghost tours mainly just to get the macabre history of a new city. I always internally groan when the ghost stories are over embellished. The history in Salem is so gnarly on it's own, it doesn't need a lot of fabricated over the top cheesey stories. This tour was very light on cheese, and very well done. The historical facts were faithful to the research I had done prior to coming. Dr Vitka was the best tour guide!

Super fun tour! I loved how personable Dr. Vitka was throughout the entire tour. He provided an educational and fun experience. I love that he does paranormal investigations, but forgot to get his information. I do wish it would have been less people, I felt a little rushed and cramped trying to take pictures at the locations.

What a great tour! Mike is so knowledgeable about the history of Salem, he was very entertaining and patient. He has witnessed some things that made him a believer and he shared those stories with us. At the end, he has some AMAZING photos. Our group got a couple of orbs and a questionable red orb. The large cemetery is being worked on, so we couldn't enter, which was a bummer. But, I HIGHLY recommend Spellbound Tours, you will not be disappointed!!

If you're going to go on ONE tour in Salem- do this one!! It does not disappoint! Your guide is amazing, detailed and makes the experience like no other tour you've had! I learned even more then I thought I knew about the history of Salem after this tour and I've been going for 6 years now! They book fast in October so you can always book online too! Lots of chances for photos to be take. During the tour, he encourages it and gives his tour groups plenty of time to do so.

I really enjoyed the combination of historical stories (accurate to Salem's history) along with spooky embellishment (that's why you take a tour like this!). The pics at the end scared my 12 year old for hours, but she still enjoyed the tour. If you have young children, beware some of the stories are verbally told with some graphic language and the pictures were also creepy. I would recommend taking it at night if you want to enhance the spooky factor and the afternoon to diminish it. It was well worth the price.

I booked a trip to Salem with a group of my high school friends and we had a blast. The Salem Voodoo, Vampires, and Ghosts Guided Walking Tour ended up being one of several highlights on the trip. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and was a fascinating story teller. We ended up goofing on the timing and were already 30 minutes late before we joined the tour. As we walked to the next location, he caught us up on what he already went over and it was really nice of him to do. We did another tour the night before with a larger group and I wish we had done this tour with everyone because unfortunately the other tour we went on was blown out of the water by this one. The sites were unique and the stories were not ones that we had already heard of as part of other tours. As we walked, he also gave recommendations of food places or little shops and museums that he recommended which was an unexpected and nice touch. I would definitely recommend booking this tour on your trip to Salem!

This tour is definitely one of the best tours I've gone on in Salem. I've done all the touristy tours that are offered during the day several times. This is my 4th trip to Salem. I thought I knew it all. This tour gave me so much more insight into Salem's history and there was so much I didn't know. Our tour guide was kind, funny, and very knowledgable. The only down side was that it was FREEZING. I'm from California, so take that with a grain of salt :) Also, I cannot remember our tour guides name but it was on 11/12 on the 8pm tour. He recommended the Fried Avocado Tacos at the Howling Wolf and holy crap those were amazing. So not only are they knowledgeable about the history, they know about the great food around!

We booked the "Voodoo, Vampires and Ghosts Walking Tour" and it was a great experience! Our guide Dr. Vitka "Mike" is a gifted and exceptional story teller. His expertise in the history of the events around the Salem Witch Trials, his knowledge of the area and his experience as a ghost hunter and researcher make his story telling a captivating experience as he walks you around. His delivery was also excellent - from his voice projection ( he spoke loud enough for us all to hear him even with all the noise around town but without shouting) to his tone of voice which had a slight "ghoulish" ring to it. We passed other tours walking around as well and although the other guides seemed knowledgeable, they don't tell the stories anything like Mike did. And he even dressed the part in all- black outfit complete with vest, top hat that has some witchcraft looking bones on it and holding a sort of walking stick with a skull on it. The story teller makes this and his other tours probably the best in Salem!

We loved this tour. It gave us just the right mix of spooky storytelling and historical information. It was obvious that our guide loves what he does. I think I may even have caught an apparition on my camera. Really fun and worthwhile experience.

Went in the tour with my daughter on 10/14 and had a blast! Lots of history and information about Salem that I didn't know. I would highly recommend going!

This is a must if you go to Salem! This tour was extremely interesting and a lot of fun! If your looking for a tour on the history of Salem this is not the tour for you. However They do a great job of intertwining both the history of Salem and the paranormal. I must stress if your looking for a tour to dive deep into the history of Salem this is not the tour for you. But if your looking for a great ghost tour this is a MUST! Our tour guide was a real paranormal investigator and was extremely knowledgeable about Salem. I had a lot of fun. I do recommend doing more then one ghost tour. However if you can only do one choose spellbound tours!
