Amazing island, not too touristy. Came here for a university course in late June and had a chance to go to the sea without too many people around. There are some shops and the walks are very nice. We rented a motorbike and went for a roadtrip around the island that took a bit more than an hour. Prices are fair and food is nice. It's half an hour away from Hydra and roughly two hours away from Piraeus port. Overall, I recommend spending some time here!!

Spetses, Greece, is an enchanting island that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and a tranquil atmosphere. My visit to Spetses was a delightful experience, filled with memorable moments and stunning sights. The island is renowned for its elegant architecture, with grand mansions and charming houses that reflect its rich maritime history. Strolling through the quaint streets of Spetses, I was captivated by the car-free environment, which adds to the peaceful and relaxed ambiance of the island. The absence of cars makes walking and cycling the preferred modes of transport, allowing visitors to truly soak in the beauty of the surroundings at a leisurely pace. Spetses boasts beautiful beaches like Agia Marina, Agioi Anargyroi, and Zogeria, offering crystal clear waters and picturesque settings for swimming and sunbathing. The pine-covered hills and the azure sea create a stunning backdrop that is both soothing and invigorating. One of the most striking features of Spetses is its rich history, evident in landmarks such as the House of Bouboulina and the Cathedral of St. Nicholas. These sites provide a glimpse into the island's fascinating past and its role in the Greek War of Independence. The culinary scene in Spetses is also noteworthy, with a variety of tavernas and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. The fresh seafood, delightful Greek dishes, and the friendly, hospitable service make dining in Spetses a pleasure. Moreover, the atmosphere on the island during the evening is magical. The waterfront comes alive with a gentle buzz of activity, offering a perfect setting for a romantic walk or a relaxing drink under the stars. In summary, Spetses is a captivating destination that combines natural beauty, historical charm, and a serene, welcoming atmosphere. It's an ideal place for those seeking a peaceful retreat and an authentic Greek island experience.

Lovely little island. We discovered it all in half day. Rented a quad bike a drove around the island. You can also rend e-bikes or motorbikes. Had a nice pizza by the port. Had a very good time in here.

Crystal clear waters. Narrow old streets. Restaurants on the water. Limited number of cars. Water taxis everywhere. Some beaches only accessible by water. Daily arrival of sail boats outside the magical old hotel the Posidonia. Great island!

I ve spent allot vacations here and Im very fond of Spetses. Its proximity to Athens is also appealing! Its beaches are good nothing mind-blowingly beautiful but nice&clean to swim in especially the rear side of the island(agia paraskeuh, agia marina and zogeria). I also like the strict policy on No Cars without permit to come to the Island. You will need to be a keen bicyclists or have a motorbike licence to do a full rotation (27 km circumference I think).
