Spey Inn

Had a good visit overall, but the service could definitely be more polite. The staff showed very little interest when it came to suggestions or guidance, which was disappointing. However, the owners were extremely warm and welcoming—they personally came over to check on our experience and made us feel valued. Their hospitality really stood out and made a positive difference.

Ate here during our stay at Craigellachie Hotel. Spey Inn has a 1-page dinner menu, but a robust 6-page selection of drinks. Appropriate dining music. Our party ordered the Mussels, North Sea Haddock, the Free-Range Chicken and the Spey Burger; we were all pleasantly impressed with both the flavors and proportions.

Spey Inn Bar and Restaurant is a true gem! The food was fantastic, but the service truly stood out, thanks to an exceptionally nice and incredibly helpful waiter who went above and beyond. The bar is also absolutely worth a visit – without a doubt the best in the region. The bartender clearly knows his craft and creates a wonderful atmosphere. From the delicious meals to the top-notch drinks and the outstanding service, the Spey Inn provides a memorable experience. If you're in the area, don't miss it! Highly recommended for both dining and drinks.

Went here for a family meal but has since changed hands since we were last here. I ordered a beef brisket with whisky sauce. Lovely and flavourful quiet nice to get a slice of brisket apposed to the shredded. I did ask for a extra pot of sauce as the amount on the plate for the amount of meat was a little shy but still delicious. 3 others ordered burgers which came with something spicy on the burger (we think on the onions) which 2 people didn't like (and wasn't mentioned on the menu that there was anything hot on the burgers). So they took them off any enjoyed the rest of the burger a chips. The haddock and chips was a huge portion, chips cooked amazing and good tartar sauce. Ordered a couple of pudding but the cheesecake was more of a almond flavoured bread and butter type pudding than what you would think of a cheesecake being. Not what we were expecting but not unpleasant.

Such a great cosy spot to stop along the whiskey trail. Whether its for a coffee. Food or indeed a whiskey. Dog friendly. Lovely wee menu with great selection of dishes. Thoroughly recommend. Has a delightful open fireplace and gorgeous decor. A place to keep coming back to 😊

The soup was absolutely delicious. The mild garlic touch and ricotta in the soup was just nice as it comes together. The beef tartare was well balanced but a tad rich for me. The fish was a tad too creamy for my liking. The mutton pie was perfectly topped with mashed asparagus potato with two strips of asparagus.

We were a group of 6 who booked an evening meal a few nights ago. A warm welcome from the host and great service at the bar. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant & again attentive service. The food was lovely, but maybe overpriced for what we received.  £11:50 for 2 haggis bon bons was we felt a wee bit steep. The boar goat pie was also extremely tasty but again overpriced at £26. Especially with vegetables/extras at an additional £5. A lovely meal & atmosphere, but we would go elsewhere to eat if we visited the area again. 12.5% added tip was a bit steep.

Nice bar and Dog friendly. Good selection of beers and whisky. Food was good, the haggis starter was nice.. Burgers were good even though there was confusion over which was 100g and 200g burger. Staff were helpful and friendly. I don't always tip unless it's deserved.. because the experience had been so nice I tipped from the change I received from my payment. Only after did I look at the receipt to notice they had taken a 10%tip without asking me. So only 4 stars for the Copper Dog.
