We did not have any food up there but it's definitely worth checking out. Relaxed hang out (altho we heard it can get pretty busy in there) and some nice regional beers from tap. Altho something else for people who are not that much into beer.

Laid back place with a beer garden and a great view. Can have a Rauchbier while checking out Bamberg below. Had Bratwürste with sauerkraut and went really well together :) Really pretty.

We were lucky enough to come for “CSU Jazz Morning Pint with Soul Message” and had a wonderful time! The views and music can’t be beat. Food was good (nothing specccciiiallll but all solid) and service was attentive even though there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. Worth a visit for the ambiance alone but stay for everything else!

Had just beer here, all of them was excellent pils as well as light smoked lager (helles), unfortunately only these two were draft ( vom vass), shaufelle looked very good, anyway. Nice view on the city, spoiled by play ground for kids.

Wonderful view, good service and the best Schäuferla (and lamb) we had during our 3 day visit to Bamberg - this may be the best Keller in town! The team kindly set up a new table for us, as the garden is usually filled fast - as is to be expected. The Spezialbier is fantastic, even as a panache I highly recommend it!

Outstanding beer garden on top of the hill overlooking the town. Wonderful outside selection of chairs and umbrellas. They sell all kinds of different beer including their special.. Pun intended!

While you can drive up here and park closer, my friend and I chose to walk up the hill, and while a bit of a trek, well worth it for the final prize of the view, food and ambiance! When we arrived in the afternoon, the place was already buzzing. My friend knew one of the managers, we said hello, grabbed beers, and sat at a table overlooking the city of Bamberg. Spectacular! We looked over the menu and we both chose the same thing- Schweinekrustenbraten- Pork Shoulder- a local delicacy. We drank our beers and caught up with each other, enjoying the views and the people having a good time. Our food arrived after a bit of a wait, but I was not surprised given how busy they were. Our server set our plates in front of us and we ordered more beers. My pork was perfect- crispy skin and moist and tender meat underneath. It came with a side of "Wirsing," which is Savoy Cabbage, and it was delicious! After eating, we ordered another beer and shared Apfelkrapfen, sort of an apple fritter- scrumptious! We enjoyed our beer and watched the sunset before heading back down the hill. This place is a must-visit if you are in Bamberg...

Came here for dinner with some friends on a Saturday night. We had a pretty large group so we made reservations ahead of time. The service and food were great! The prices are reasonable too! I had the Schäuferla mit Sauerkraut /Wirsing und kloß and it was delicious!! Perfectly flavored and cooked! The beer was great too! I will definitely dine here again the next time I'm in Bamberg!

This place is a must-visit every time I'm in Bamberg, not only for the amazing views, but the food is top notch!! Highly recommend the schauferla (roasted pork belly): the skin is roasted to a perfect crisp and the fat in between practically melts in your mouth. The knodeln and sauerkraut that comes with tastes amazing as well. If you come in a busy summer day, expect to walk for awhile for a table to clear up, and for your waiter to come by to take your food order. Also, don't expect exceptional service. It is Germany after all

This cute little restaurant is located on top of a hill, which made the view of the town great! We sat outside where they have a beautiful spacious courtyard. It was quite windy & cloudy that day, but it was still beautiful. We ordered bratwurst & pork knuckle, and it was quite delicious! The staff was very friendly & spoke English to us, which helped a great amount. Next time we come back, we will probably definitely drive up the hills next time instead of walking but it was a good walk!

Located high on the hill, you can look down on the city of Bamberg from this location. It's another great Franconian/Bavarian biergarten. This one dates back to 1536, and they offer another Rauchbier (a bit less smoky than Schlenkerla's). You can enjoy very nice sunset if you time it right. It's just relaxing to sit here and enjoy typical Franconian dishes. As a common experience, you may have to share a table since it's a very popular place and very crowded especially on the weekend. Also, as usual cash only. You can either be waited on (sometimes slow service), or go to the biergarten counter, pay and get your own food and drink like locals do.

Best beer garden /"keller" in Bamberg. However, on sunny days kitchen and staff are hopelessly overchallenged and unfriendly.

We came up here without a reservation, but since it is a little outside the city center, with lots of outdoor seating, and we found a table for the 4 of us. We had drinks and dinner, with lots of others, which slowed the service, but our server was relaxed and efficient. The pretzel was great, had a sweet mustard with it and then 2 white sausages, a light meal along with sharing a tomato salad that was really good. My spouse had their potato salad along with Leberkaese, as did our two friends. The Leberkase was the best he had eaten so far this trip, and the potato salad was also good, with some tartness to it. Overall, they had an extensive menu of mostly meat, but some duck and chicken, tho they were out of that due to how popular the place was over the holiday weekend. ht

Best view in Bamberg, Place has been there for hundreds of years, beer is great and the food is very good. One of the best place to just sit and relax!
