Spice Bar Restaurant

It’s always a pleasure coming here and the fusion dishes are always unique and flavoursome. We usually drive here from Brisbane once a year. I’ll never forget the spiced wings they had a few years ago - it was quite an experience! They have an extensive wine list to select from. Toilets are nice and clean as well.

I was 3.5 yes ago and vowed never to go back. Fortunately I did and I'm glad I did. What an experience it was. We tried the banquet and left it to the chef to surprise us. Best experience I've had in a very long time. This include food and service. I will most definitely be back in the near future.

I made a decision to take my daughter to Spice Bar for her graduation celebration. I absolutely picked the right restaurant. The team are pure professionals, from front of house to the kitchen. We chose to go with the 9 course degustation and all 3 of us dining agreed it was easily one of the best meals of our lives. Each dish had it's own unique flavour profile and left us discussing what we just had and what could be next, it was an amazing experience, not just a meal. Special thanks to Flo, he was certainly kept on his toes all night and was always making sure we had everything we needed. Harry behind the bar makes an incredible cocktail and Marnie makes you feel extremely welcome. The kitchen also accommodated for some annoying dietary requirements which again, they nailed. I cannot praise this restaurant enough, everything about the food and beverage is meticulously presented and the hosts are at another level. Food, service, atmosphere 5 stars. I'm already making excuses to plan my next visit.

We attended the restaurant last night for my wife’s birthday and we were not disappointed. I strongly recommend the banquet as you will be taken on a culinary journey for your tastebud that is seldom experienced. The service was fantastic and really capped off a memorable night. We will be back, next time we are up the coast.

Tried out somewhere new last night, for a degustation. It did not disappoint! Lovely wait staff, beautiful food, great location, great wine list, seafood was incredible. Absolute new local favourite! Will be back regularly.

My partner and I had an amazing anniversary dinner at Spice Bar. The cocktails were delicious and the quality made them well worth the price. For not being a vegan establishment, they absolutely nailed the vegan meals we shared. The tempura mushroom and agedashi tofu were our favourites. Everything was cooked and flavoured to perfection. We’ll definitely be back.

Great view, great service, for some reason it was quiet. Food was impeccable, every dish was soo good. Cocktails were amazing, all delicious!

Took my wife here for her birthday dinner and we were both highly impressed with the dishes. We had the 5 course degustation with the scallops as extra. The coral trout was cooked to perfection with every dish tasting amazing. Top class restaurant!

This is the best food I have had on the Sunshine Coast. The restaurant was packed when we arrived and the hostess almost turned us away. (-1 star for her "no-can-do attitude). We arrived st 8:40 and she said there would not be any tables available before 9:00 and they were closing. She was not interested in accommodating us at all. Clearly. I said we would like to wait in case a table opened up. After the manager heard our conversation, he came and said that we could wait and he would do his best to get us in. Haaazaaa ... 10 minutes later, a group left and a space was born. Yay! I was really determined to go here because my friend, who is a local, told me this is one of his favorite places to dine. Yes, I am happy we actually got to have dinner here. We ordered the cuttlefish, a couple salads, and the duck. Everything was delicious. They had several things on the menu that looked very gourmet. I want to go back and try a few more next time. (Beef Cheeks and a some very fancy desserts). Yummy! Thank you to the manager that actually helped us to enjoy this experience.

Spice bar lived up to expectations. Nice feeling as you arrive. Staff very professional and polite. Full bar including cocktails. Starters were very tasty with a twist to some old favourites. Main meals were good but be prepared for spicy heat. All in all a pleasant experience.

Five star everything. Near the normal tourist strip food but miles away in total class. Even that duck would be glad to have sacrificed to produce the duck and orange. Spectacular atmosphere, great energy, fab food, great wine range, professional service it is one of the best and has been for years.

What a gem of a place. It doesn't look like a very fancy or noticeable place, but it was absolutely fantastic. We came here on a Sunday for lunch, and it was quieter then the usual full house. They offer the same menu lunch or dinner which is great. We had the beetle leaf shrimp, scallops and the steamed buns for starters. They were all out of this world, including the seaweed butter that came with the buns. We also have the duck with orange sauce, which was so juicy and tender and the beef tataki which just melted in the mouth. I would go to Mooloolaba just to eat at this place again. I heard that it gets packed for dinner, so don't hesitate to visit it earlier in the day for a stunning meal looking the water.

Amazing place to have dinner, loved the atmosphere, amazing service as well. It's shows the hard work and time that has been put into these dishes, and it totally shows. I mean it totally tastes amazing.

Had a variety of dishes including the mooloolaba prawns in betel leaf, scallops with soy ginger sabayon, chicken with coconut sambal and pickled jalapeño, lamb with smoked tomato jaewl and horseradish and finally the duck with red curry vinegar and coconut. The prawns were average. It tasted like the prawn "mix" had been pre prepared as the prawns had lost their crunch and were slightly soggy. Flavour was ok but completely lost the prawn and couldn't taste it. Scallops were one of two dishes we loved. Beautiful sweet plump scallops perfectly cooked with a delicate, creamy slightly sweet sabayon. Could really taste the scallop and the sauce complimented them so well. The chicken had a nice thai flavour but was 3/4 baby corn. The coconut sambal was underwhelming and lacked flavour but the jalapeño had a nice kick and flavour. The lamb was again a bit underwhelming. Was basically lamb mince with herbs and spices in a bread dough like parcel. Was ok, but was expecting something a bit more exciting I guess. The smoked sauce that it was served with was so overwhelmingly smokey that I could only eat a touch of it and I LOVE smokey sauces. Tasted like someone went way overboard with the liquid smoke. The duck was definitely the best dish by far. Really well balanced with the rich fatty duck, the sweet pickled lychee, fresh herbs and the gorgeous sauce that was tangy, sweet, acidic and full of flavour. Just wish there was more sauce! Good serving size for the price with a generous portion of duck. Overall really mixed bag, really loved two dishes but wouldn't order the other three again. Would only go back for the scallops and duck. Good service, good waiters with good food and beverage knowledge.

Hey. If you don't experience this place then you need to re-evaluate your life. Amazing food, taste sensation. Jason was our head chef along with his amazing team, we could not have asked for anything more exquisite. PERRRFECT

excellent sashimi. ask for for the chilli plate to join it. whoever created the five different chilli variations deserves a monument. beef tataki surprising and delicious. the atmosphere is great. good looking people 35+ and well dressed. although you can also walk in in sneakers and a shirt, if you like. staff young, competent, friendly and helpful - typically australian. great fun! okonomyaki (!!!) outstandig. worth a visit. thank you, kim, for being a perfect host!

This is my favourite place to eat. Hands down. Everything was perfect, as usual, except for the little short brown haired Canadian waiter who served us. The four of us had a great boozy night and he manages to ruin it all by being an arrogant and cocky loser when it came time to paying the bill, specifically having a stab at one of my friend's for not paying a tip and for being intoxicated (which was the purpose of why we went there, to eat and drink and be merry). Everyone else was perfect. For such an amazing place, I'd get rid of him, wouldn't want anyone else's time ruined by such arrogance.

Wow, cannot say enough about this restaurant, have been here twice now and had the degustation menu. Every single item we received was absolutely top class and delicious. Brilliant staff who were there whenever we needed anything. This is now my number one favourite restaurant!!!
