Recently refurbished and it hasn't done it any favours. I come here semi regularly, and I think the small annoyances have now been compounded by new ones, making the overall experience much less enjoyable. The coffee cups are now really small and have no handles so they burn your fingers. If you're there on your own it's really difficult when it's busy. The staff insist on you having a table number. This means you have to go in the cafe, find a table, leave your belongings there (at your own risk I assume) and then order. If you just go to order, the staff get a bit off with you when you say you don't know the number of a table down some stairs and round a corner. There is no signage to indicate a table number is required before ordering. Having said that, some staff are nicer about it than others. The food is the usual pastries etc, though of a good quality. They offer some sandwiches, but not many. Overalls it is a nice cafe, but tiny coffee and grumpy staff let it down.

Popped in for a takeaway treat to fuel the morning's work, chose a latte and the egg & sausage brunch roll. Genuinely think that roll is the best breakfast bap I've ever eaten. Tangy, savoury, a bit of a kick, no flavour outdoing the other. Pricey but worth it. I will be back!

Great food but the place is full of people on laptops, some who nurse a coffee for hours and some who don’t even pretend. Have had to leave without a table when I can count 7 people on tables with laptops, three of which don’t even have an empty cup next to them. Management really need to do something about it, it’s bad for business and ruining this otherwise great coffee shop / restaurant.

The food today was the best it's ever been at Spicer. The Chinese salads with the boneless chicken is a wonderous combination and the lamb lafta bread last week was simply excellent too. Shame the manager lady was just outright rude! It's lovely to have the road pedestrianised and a buzz about the place! Welcome back Spice and Cole

Perfect space to stop for brunch before heading to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Great selection of brunch dishes, fresh pastries, and hot drinks. We would recommend the fresh yogurt bowl and the spicy homemade beans on toast! Lovely staff and clean seating area.

Really nice coffee shop, might be one of my favourites in Clifton. The front window is a good spot for chilling. There’s good food selection and reasonably priced. Given 4 stars for atmosphere because although I really like the front half of the coffee shop, there’s a section in the back that doesn’t quite have the same feel. There’s WiFi which is a bonus in Clifton as the mobile data service is generally pretty bad in the area. Also, the service is great. There’s some really nice people working in there.

I came here 3 days in a row during my stay because the coffee (latte) was so so good. The sausage sandwich had quality ingredients but I feel like it needs some further ingredient added to the mix to elevate it to the next level as it was a bit dry.

Great selection of pastries for breakfast and sandwiches/baguettes/focaccia for lunch. I loved vegetarian beans in toast but breakfast ciabatta was a bit stale and quit modestly filled. This place doesn’t allow dogs inside. However they have sitting area outside which is enjoyable weather permitting. Laptops are welcome though and many people work from there.
