Spicy Affair Indian Cuisine

The food was okay. Better than average. Loved the Madras Chicken curry but the meat could’ve been cooked better. It was a little slimy and weird for my liking. The biriyani was alright. Good flavors but is it is not very authentic Indian. Lovely staff but a bit insistent on getting reviews. I understand it’s for your business marketing but I feel it should not be stressed or forced 😅

The food was delicious and full of flavor. The butter chicken was creamy and tender the naan bread fresh and soft, chicken tikka masala and chana masala had authentic and rich taste. Highly recommended! Mango lassi was delicious my favourite.

Come here once a year and the food is always tasty, atmosphere is calm and pleasant with excellent service. Great for an intimate date night of Indian cuisine.

Great food as always ! Delicious Butter Chicken and Beef Masala ! Saffron rice and Garlic Naan awesome 🤩. Came in 20 mins to closing and fit us in ! Very accommodating!

The staff at this restaurant is amazing. Our server was just the kindest soul. The food was absolutely phenomenal and tasted extremely authentic! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone. We had the mango chicken, kadai chicken and chicken biryani and could not fault it! The starters are all equally as delicious. This restaurant will take you by surprise! Highly recommend

The food was amazing had the Chicken Biryani it was delicious. Aarti the server was lovely making sure we had water and had a lovely chat with her after the meal. Will definitely be coming back!

First time visitors and will definitely be coming back. Booked a table for two and then at the last minute emailed the restaurant for an inside table to the side. Immediately, received confirmation they would oblige. How fantastic. The food was top notch, and service was spot on. Dishes were delicious and cooked with aromatic spices. Recommend!

What a fantastic little restaurant in East Vic Park. It was a recommendation from my in laws, we had a big group of 10. Service was great, the waitress was very friendly and they had a high chair for the little one. Because we were in a group we ordered lots of different dishes and it was absolutely delicious! Was so nice to try all the different curries, so many beautiful flavors! All dishes were fantastic, my favorite were the fish curry, lamb saage, beef korma and of course the garlic naan. Great find! I will definitely come back. Restaurant is BYO. Make sure you book in advance, restaurant is very small.

First, let me say that I'm not new to Indian food. I grew up on it, so I know what's good, bad, traditional and westernised. I was surprised by how good the food was, given the price and the semi run-down look of the place. We got butter chicken (yes, a Western favourite I know, but it's good) and palak paneer. I'm picky with my paneer. I find that often it's almost tasteless. While subtle, this stuff had taste. It was all delicious and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend and would definitely go again!

It's a shame my experience was far from what these other Yelpers are saying. Unfortunately the food was lacking ANY real flavour. Spicy Affair? More like Sh*tty Affair. Spicy Affair, you need to season the meat before putting it into the dish, and make it fresh. Frozen reheated food tastes TERRIBLE, made even worse by terrible taste. It's not too late to fix it up.

Here's the 10 second sound bite: If you prioritise master class Indian food cooked to perfection... book a table at Spicy Affair. This is my new favourite restaurant.... (read on for the caveat) There was only two of us, so our experience with this restaurant is limited to only a few dishes: Hara Bhara Kebab (vegetarian starter) Non Veg Platter (selection of tandoor meats) Fish Malabari and the standard rice & garlic naan. So, from this key-hole perspective all I can say is I want to experience more of what these guys can do. I was seriously impressed from the first bite... which was a taste of Fish Amritsari (from the non veg platter) The last time I had fish that good in a restaurant was made by the tempura prodigy (from Japan) employed by Xanadu-Margaret River 10 years ago. The rest of it was pretty much at the same level. I could go on, but I think you get the point. So now to the caveat... If you value the pretence of silver service, pressed linen napkins and Riedel glassware.. this is not the place to go. Instead you will find table cloths overlaid in thick clear plastic, many (framed) prints of Ganesh (and he was in the minority amongst his peers) and a plasma screen up high in the corner purveying a ceaseless stream of Bollywood-cum-Taylor Swift (equivalent) caricatures. Kitsch, in a word. But... I don't care. If the chef is consistently as good as last Thursday night, the rest of the background noise fades away to nothing. The service was faultless, the price was a bargain for what you get (we had lunch for two in the doggy bag left over) and the food was phenomenal. I'll be back. (sooner rather than later) best ~c

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in town, the food and the service are amazing. I love the tasting plate, and all there curries and naan breads are really good. I come here often, a visit to this place is a must.

Don't let the appearance of this restaurant fool you, this is a great little Indian restaurant. Good service and even better food. We had a meal for 8 people so were able to try many of the dishes. Well priced but remember to BYO.
