Špilberk Castle

Woooos! I was really impressed with the castle and the museum! They are beyond expectations! I've been in man catlse/museums and I should say it was the best one outside Vienna! Nature, art and history meet here. I spend 4 hours to see everything and I guess it was not enough! However, somethings could have been better. Staff were really friendly but most of them didn't speak English which was challenging sometimes. The info also was not in English every where and in particular, I found it difficult to map the labels to artworks so times which add to confusion. Some benches in the painting halls could be really helpful particularly because many visit them at the end of the tour! Nonetheless, it is one the best spots in Brno and if you want to only visit one place, it should be this one!

Definitely worth a visit. You can spend hours here. I went for the museum and there are three levels you can explore. You get to learn about the castle‘s history and architecture. There are also exhibitions for you to explore and many art pieces for you to marvel at. Please note it is definitely a hike up! Recommend to wear appropriate shoes.

The fortress is a wonderful place to spend some time. The walk up to the fortress is mildly strenuous but pleasantly green. The exhibitions are absolutely worth visiting and very comprehensive. The view from the fortress walls or its tower is also beautiful. Definitely a must-visit if you are in Brno.

Špilberk castle is a must-visit if you’re in Brno. Whether you’re drawn to its medieval architecture, Ghostly prison history, lush gardens, or unforgettable city views, it’s easy to spend whole day exploring at a relaxed pace. If you stay Brno few days and have a lot of time, you can visit here. If not, you don't need to. If you want to go into the royal chapel, you have to buy another ticket.

only problem was that it took me an eternity to find a toilet, but i had to "pay" for it when i got in. other than that, this castle seems very nice and it offers great views

It’s beautiful. Walking around inside the walls is free and you can buy tickets to have a look in the look out tower or the treasury.
