Spillane's Bar & Restaurant

Wonderful food, very nice and friendly staff, lovely atmosphere even if we had to eat at the bar. One of the best restaurants in Ireland I've been so far.

Wonderful place! Great food. We loved the Beef and Guiness Casserole - and our Desserts (Carrot cake and Berry Crumble).

Great pub in the summer. Closed over the winter. I’m updating my review. The food is quite good and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. If you don’t have a reservation then you should get served at the bar. Also, you may find a free outside table. On a sunny evening it’s glorious there.

The crab claws were excellent. The seabass was not available so I ordered the monk fish but the texture is new to me. The menu has a wide variety. I recommend this restaurant.

Food options for all the family, with a good number of options on the regular menu and always a few specials. Always a good holiday atmosphere in Spillane’s, and if the weather’s good at dinner time, lovely sunsets to be seen out front. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Lovely family spot. We went there shortly after they opened for the season. The staff are lovely, it was busy and everyone was running but they accommodated our group and although not everything was perfect we understand they were just starting up the season. We will be back as the people are lovely and just let them settle in and I’m sure it will be a 5 star review.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was buzzing.We had hake and crab’s pincers. Fresh fish delight. The walk on the beach was brilliant afterwards.

This is a MUST when visiting the Castle Gregory area. Thw views driving out to the Maharees are spectacular. All the food is yummy, especially the seafood. We;ve been coming here for decades and dine here several times each visit.

We first experienced this wonderful restaurant almost 30 years ago. The drive out to the Maharees is so beautiful.. Very cozy atmosphere and the freshest seafood. The Spillane family is very welcoming. A "must" when in the area. To be sure, we have been there only in "off" season, so it was never too crowded.

Wonderful place - great food and fabulous drinks. Staff are great!! Always a good place to gather with friends and meet new folks.

Looking for a local establishment serving proper pints, chips, and fresh seafood? Well, this should be your destination in Maharees. We had the Mussels as a starter with the white wine butter sauce as opposed to the other Thai sauce option. The portion is a massive bucket of amazing fresh mussels, sauce was delicious. For entrees we had the rack of lamb, spicy chicken, and vegetable stirfry. All items were prepared well and tasted great. Just an FYI, protein temps in Ireland tend to be one past the regular temps you request. So rare would be prepared to medium rare and so forth. Prices are a bit above average but the service is wonderful and the scenery being right be the beach is unmatched. Highly suggest reservations as they do fill up quickly.

I grew up here as a child and young adult. This is a fantastic family-owned pub. It is located in the most beautiful place on earth, right near a gorgeous beach. It is great for both lunch and dinner. When I visit home on holiday, I always share a meal at Spillane's. They have lovely staff, a varied menu, and the freshest of food. We love the seafood platter. You can't beat it for the price. There are still a few unspoiled places in this world. You can enjoy such a place with the friendly people of Fahamore.

Stayed at a place down the road and saw that this was the only place in town for a drink and food, so we went! We had to sit at the bar because it was fully booked but didn't mind at all as the atmosphere was buzzing. We both had 3 course meals and loved it all. The staff and bar tenders were friendly and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Good food, good people, good time!

Good atmosphere and a nice play to go for post surf/sail pint. Food is ok, if expensive. But the bizarre seating system puts us off. Usual mental around 6pm on a bank holiday.

Great bar and restaurant which is located across the road from the most stunning view I've ever seen. Imagine having a pint watching the sunset over the sea! The atmosphere here makes the place it is bustling all summer long and a great place for kids. Food is good especially the BBQ chicken pizza! All the fish is sourced locally which is a plus as the sea is literally across the road! The mussels are delicious and the crab claws are fresh and tasty! The ice cream is gorgeous and I come here most days for a pint and a 99'- happy days!
