On the Grid : SPIRAL

"The building name SPIRAL comes from the giant spiral ramp inside their open circular space. This space is often used for exhibitions, performances, fashion shows or private parties. Up the ramp is Spiral Market, a store showcasing simple & chic lifestyle products." - Misa Matsuda Maraun

Visited for a meeting, thoroughly impressed with the building. Would definitely revisit to attend an event here. Gift shops on multiple floors filled with beautifully curated items.

Was able to fit this into my visit as it’s only small but I do appreciate the nuance approach to fabric art, I wish it was larger how ever. Calm quiet, a nice wind down from the outside of Tokyo

Nice space to enjoy the latest exhibitions and spend 30min - 60min. Not a must be if you’re in the area it’s nice to check out. They have a cafe and home good store on the top floor.

Big big shows here, and it's free! The carpeting and interior design is kind of funky, but it's a spiral. Don't miss the fancy shop on the 2nd floor-- there's lots of postcards and housewares that I can't afford. Yay!

We went to have coffee and cake in the restaurant. Loved that. Area is beautiful to sit in.

Went to see Coco Capitan's L057 L053R exhibit. Great space, nice cafe to relax at after enjoying the art.

Amazing shop of all the things that are beautiful but you don’t need. Great for birthday gifts. There’s something for everyone. I particularly like the paper model kits.

Yelp
I bought lots of ribbons at Spiral Market but I wanted to buy everything (they have roughly 60,000 products): jewelry, stationary, vases, tea cups and on and on. This second floor shop (access by way of a spiral staircase, of course!) is a carefully curated wonderland of gifts defined by a simple elegance ethos. There's a preponderance of paper goods in every shape and size from wrapping paper to greetings cards to gift tags and plenty of writing implements to go along with. If I'd had more time here I would have more carefully investigated the kitchenware and edible goods but I got too caught up in the ribbons and the delicate, pretty rings and bracelets on display nearby. The Spiral space is also home to a cafe, a music shop and a gallery space in which you'll find rotating exhibitions.

Yelp
It's near the B1 exit of Omote-Sando (Hanzomon line) station. I like going there whenever I go to Omote-Sando. It's very fashionable and interesting. When you don't know what to buy for a gift, you should check it out. Also there are many items for gift wrapping such as ribbon, paper and gift bags. There is a nice cafe in the building too. I recommend this shop if you want some good interior ideas!
