Duluth, Minnesota, Is a Hidden Gem in the Midwest

"With a 700‑foot vertical drop, 175 skiable acres, an extensive trail system, and fabulous views of Lake Superior, this premier destination offers some of the Midwest’s best skiing and snowboarding in winter, then transforms in summer into a lift‑accessed mountain biking park where adventure enthusiasts can hone their skills." - Jacqueline Kehoe Jacqueline Kehoe Jacqueline Kehoe is an award-winning writer, editor, and photographer. The Coaster ride was super fun and a little scary during the quick turns. The line was crazy long with about 40 people in front of us. It took about a minute per person for the line to move...guessing. the scenery was amazing during the ride. It was fairly easy to get on and off the ride. Im a bigger person. My husband is very tall and he fit fine. It was easy to control the carts.

Spirit Mountain is one of those places that’s just fun no matter the season. As a season pass holder, I’m there a lot, and it never gets old. In the winter, the skiing is solid every time well groomed runs, a good mix of terrain, and great views of Lake Superior that make even a cold day worth it. Summer is just as good with mountain biking. The trails are fast, flowy, and well maintained, with enough technical features to keep things interesting. It feels welcoming, laid back, and built for people who genuinely love being outside.

Fun hill to ski. Over priced food and drink. Also they have terrible communication on the events happing. You get to the hill and your favorite runs may be closed for racing. If only they could post there race days and what runs will be closed it would help. Also stop charging $14 for two bubbl’r drinks and two candy bars. That is ridiculous. Might get a season pass elsewhere next year.

Our kids were 5 and 3 when we visited last fall. We didn't know for sure what to expect so only bought the minimum to try out the coaster. Our kids LOVED it so much I wish I had planned some extra time here. When we go back in the future the all day pass will be so worth it!

Fine skiing experience..bad weather so quiet slopes. Frustration lies in the horrendous website development...buying tickets was an absolute nightmare...on top of that they disabled ticket purchases online because of closing at 3pm for weather (closing is understandable). When I got to the counter they would not honor the online pricing however. Improve the customer service experience spirit. Make things a little more smooth.

Incredible bike trails, wow! I'm so impressed with the place. Thanks for having some pedal up options, and the new blue climb trail (name TBD) and beam me up Scotty blue flow trail down (rides more like a light blue/dark green especially in comparison to everything in the actual bike park rating scale) are amazing! Kuddos to the trail builders and the business, keep it up 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

If you buy tickets online it's cheaper. 10 for $100. We also got free mini golf. We did the alpine coasters over and over. I am plus size and I fit in just fine with no safety issues. I was also able to do the zip line

Before you come just recognize that this ski hill is the most poorly run operation in the state of Minnesota. With that bar set the rest of your experience should be fine. Good luck
