We held our wedding reception at Spirit and couldn't have had a better experience. Owner Leigh provided wedding coordination services throughout the process and handled everything day-of. Her expertise saved us a lot of trouble, proactively answering questions we wouldn't know to ask. Spirit's chef created a full multi-course custom catering menu for us out of thin air when we floated the idea of wanting a taco bar, and the food came out amazing. They easily accommodated our vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free guests, with Leigh checking on each of them specifically during dinner service. We scheduled a late-night pizza drop towards the end of the party, featuring a spread of Spirit's famous pizza options hot and fresh from downstairs. The venue was set up perfectly for eating and dancing. Bar, bartenders, kitchen, and service staff were all handled in-house which saved us a lot of scrambling for vendors. The professional sound system and lighting displays made easy work for our DJ to set up and change the mood through different phases of the event. The staff were all skilled and professional. Unrelated to the service, it was cool having access as bride and groom to the same dressing room many of our favorite bands have used when they come through town. If you're looking for a special place for a big event, I recommend Spirit whole-heartedly.

My husband and I held our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at Spirit. The entire team was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and they truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We had a moody winter wedding with a lot of decor. The attention to detail was remarkable – every little thing was taken care of, from the elegant decor to the flawless coordination. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how cool the venue was and how smooth the event ran. The staff was professional, friendly, and made sure we felt supported throughout the entire process. Leigh, the coordinator, was phenomenal and I’d recommend her coordination services to anyone looking to get married at Spirit. Guests are still raving about the outstanding food. The charcuterie board, buffet and late night pizza party were unbelievably amazing! We couldn't have asked for a more magical experience, and we are so grateful for the memories created here. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, unique location and impeccable service for their special day!

Afro Caribbean night was AMAZING! DJ was great and bartenders were friendly and very attentive. Coming from NYC, this was a great option for soca music and vibes... Highly recommend

Came here on Friday to see Trinity Jane, Dalchord and Mirabelle Skipworth. The venue was an awesome space to showcase local talent and music. They had a decent size menu. Not too much but not a whole lot. Like the perfect pairing. Food came out quick. The breadsticks were heavenly! 10 out of 10 on those! We ordered 2 rounds of them! Bartenders were friendly and quick for drinks.

Google
We had our wedding at Spirit recently, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. All of our guests had the best time, best food, and best drink. Leigh and her staff blew my expectations out of the water. I highly recommend this venue, the staff makes you feel at home and the quality of food, drink and venue are top notch!

Google
Excellent place to get together with outside seating that is completely open on the sides so you feel as though you are sitting in the fresh air. Completely under cover. Excellent service. We felt warm the whole time with those tall heaters that they have supplied plus the ceiling heaters. Their menu is excellent. Their drink menu is creative. I enjoyed my whole experience there and I will go back soon

I went to a Charlotte Sands show on Easter weekend. The acoustics were amazing, and parking wasn't that bad. Definitely going to see more in the future!

Google Review of Spirit Lounge - Afro-Caribbean Party Date of visit: Saturday, June 15, 2024 Rating: ★★★☆☆ My guest and I attended the Afro-Caribbean party at Spirit Lounge in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh. This was our first visit to this venue. Despite having paid $25.00 in advance, the doors opened 30 minutes late without explanation, which was disappointing (Rating: ★★★☆☆). Access to the venue involves navigating a long flight of stairs to the basement, which could pose significant challenges for individuals with mobility issues (Rating: ★☆☆☆☆). The interior, however, was impressive. The space opened up to a large bar with additional restaurant seating in the back and a spacious dance floor (Rating: ★★★★☆). The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with young adults enjoying the lively Caribbean music, and the dance floor was consistently packed, spilling over into the seating areas. The DJ excelled in maintaining a dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere (Rating: ★★★★★). On the downside, the restaurant limited its offerings to pizza despite a more extensive menu being advertised, which was a letdown since I had hoped for salad and wings (Rating: ★☆☆☆☆). Another significant concern was the indoor smoking of marijuana, cigars, and cigarettes, creating a discomforting environment health-wise and detracting from my overall experience. Overall, while the party theme and music were enjoyable, and I might consider returning before the summer ends, improvements in menu variety and adherence to smoking regulations could enhance the experience significantly. This review incorporates my detailed feedback on various aspects of the visit, offering a balanced view of my personal experience at Spirit Lounge.

Yelp
I love Spirit. I love Spirit so much. The pizza, delicious. The bread sticks, delicious. The salad, delicious. The drinks, delicious. The music, delicious. The bingo Sundays, delicious. The cabaret nights, delicious. The staff, delicious.

Yelp
Not sure what happened with the food here or maybe my memory is off but this used to be one of my favorite pizza places around. In the past couple of months, it seems like the food changed, maybe the portions were different or they were trying out new pizzas but overall it's just ok now. The ambiance of the place itself and service of the staff has not changed thought. That is still amazing

Lillian T.

Yelp
Pizza was massive! It's just fell a little flat - was good but not great. I'll have to try their other crust next time. Not sure what kind of pizza it was that they used to sell by the slice late at night in the back of the venue -- it was soooo good.

Jayme B.

Yelp
I've been to Spirit before, but I recently ordered takeout to try their food. I ordered online and that process was a bit unorganized. After I placed my order, the screen said I would receive an email with a pick up time. After 30 minutes, I never received an email confirming a pick up time. I wasn't sure if the email just didn't come through or if they were super busy and they didn't know what time my order would be ready. At the 30 min mark, I decided to drive over to see what the status was (I live about 15 min away). When I got there, the place was fairly empty and my order was just waiting to be pick up. I ordered the "Bickle" pizza - which is red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, candied jalepeno and ranch. I also ordered the Caesar salad, and the smashed and fried fingerlings. All of the food was so good! I'd heard that Spirit had good food, but I never tried it before. It did not disappoint! I will definitely order food from Spirit again.

Dani J.

Yelp
I don't know if it was the place or the event itself but it was a bit loud and disorganized when we went for a Valentines Couples Competition. It was a buffet and that's all we knew beforehand. It was pasta, salad and bread. So that was disappointing and the alcohol was marked up but that was to be expected. The space itself is huge though so I could see it being great.

Krissy G.

Yelp
Great pizza and quick service. They have a great bar menu with a variety of pizza offerings. Stick around for the live music!

Rochelle H.

Yelp
J'adore Spirit! This place is the way that I imagined brunch would be when I grew up and became a little cooler than the other side of the pillow... We almost passed it because it is definitely not a stand out type of place and the parking is extremely tight. However, once you hear the tunes spinning from the DJ, you'll know that you're in the right place. As for the food, carnivores, vegetarians and vegans can all get a tasty meal here and no one is rushing you to get out, unlike a lot of places during a Sunday brunch. Spirit also offers brunch on Saturday, however, the menu is a la carte and there is no DJ. I just felt good vibes at Spirit and that's all that matters to me on a lovely Sunday.

Eryn P.

Yelp
Ok, can't speak to the food, only the concert venue. However; this place is super disorganized. We saw the Happy Fits at spirit, and all emailed communications and social media communication was "doors at 7!" Well at 8:37 we finally rolled in the venue after standing in the rain for 2 hours. Thank god The Happy Fits are my favorite band right now, or I would have just gone home. I get security, but like, something's gotta give to streamline the intake process. we missed 90% of both openers because it was so slow.

Samantha R.

Yelp
Spirit is one of my favorite pizza places in Pittsburgh. I normally order pizza for pickup but decided to eat at the restaurant tonight. The outdoor space under the tent was amazing - tons of space between tables and a beautiful setup. The personal pizzas were delicious! I'm used to getting the grandmas pie which has a thick crust, but was happily surprised by the personal size ones that differ from the grandmas because of the thin, yet flavorful, and delicious crust. I got the pizza with pineapple, bacon, and jalapeño - a perfect spicy and sweet combination. Also, I decided to try a non-alcoholic drink and got the house-made tonic with lime. I wasn't expecting such a unique, fresh, and clearly homemade flavor with the tonic. I was honestly blown away by how delicious this was and that it wasn't super sweet or tangy. Just a perfect balance. Honestly, this was a great experience and I'm so excited to go back and enjoy their patio space some more.

Zaneta F.

Yelp
I've been here several times and had consistently great experiences! The first time I was here was for the monthly In Bed by Ten Dance Party on a Friday on the top floor and then came back for a funk band event on the bottom floor. The vibe here is relaxed and low-key, with a creative energy, that I very much enjoy! Recommend checking it out

Alexa C.

Yelp
My two most recent visits to Spirit were split between a Thursday evening event held upstairs and Saturday's Lawrenceville Art Crawl. I don't see the watermelon cocktails that I ordered at the event listed on their regular menu, but I enjoyed the Mermaid Tail at the downstairs bar on Saturday. I will say that the alcohol concentration in my cocktails varied drastically between bartenders. My friend and I also ordered pizza and decided to head out back while we waited. The space is under construction, but has a lot of potential, so I'll be eager to see what's to come. We hung at the downstairs bar for a bit longer and walked back over to the pizza kitchen to check on our order. We and another party that was approaching were immediately berated by a kitchen staff member and told to leave the area, at which point we left the establishment empty handed. I will be back for one of Spirit's awesome events and drinks, but will steer clear of the pizza kitchen.

Tammy L.

Yelp
Great pizzas, if you like breading on the thicker side. I noticed that the 12" round pizzas were made with a thinner crust compared to the grandma style pan pizzas. I personally like thinner crust so I LOVED the 12" hot belly (pork belly) pizza we got! A great place to pick up a few pizzas for a large gathering because the grandma pizzas can feed like 4-5 people, but just makes sure you order ahead! The staff was super friendly and willing to refund us for some missing sauces in our order when we called back later that night.

David T.

Yelp
Love this place! Eclectic and welcoming. Would visit again as pizza was great and friendly.

Christopher B.

Yelp
I've been to Spirt a few times, but this occasion I really decided to let loose for their "Make Sure You Have Fun" event. Turns out I had a great time for multiple reasons. From the bat, the event flyer/description used super inclusive language for disability and all other minority groups. Nice to see that there are welcoming spaces for people to come together, and have a good time. The DJ's provided a dope soundtrack for night including many different genres (I was there for the HIpHop). The pizza was also wonderful. As you can see pizza x red wine is my perfect combo. 10/10 would recommend. Lastly, this place has a really good bar staff. They were quick, attentive, and conversational. I had to come back the next day to look for a lost item, and they helped me look everywhere. Great service.

Zack B.

Yelp
The food is very good. Everyone we were with for brunch loved their pizzas and my chicken and waffles were good. That gets it to 4 stars. But damn was the service slow. There were only 6 of us and it took close to an hour for our food (I wonder if they had to go buy an ingredient or two, it took that long) and it really seemed like the wait staff forgot about us.

Danielle L.

Yelp
Good pizza and apps. Nice cold brewed teas. Lots of cheap alcohol selections. Bingo on Sundays is fun and weird.

Robert P.

Yelp
Great spot with always great drinks... the coolest alternative place in pgh to dance also

Adam A.

Yelp
This place has an ambiance. It is an ambiance that reminds me of Ben Horne's Great Northern Hotel in Twin Peaks, as reconstructed by twentysomething rock'n'roll hipster types trying to recreate the same energy. This place also reminded me faintly of the rock venues I used to frequent in my hometown as a teenager before those venues were steamrolled by merciless market forces and replaced with less pleasant establishments. If I am to provide another comparison, this is a venue I could easily see having a small role in a film like Walter Hill's Streets of Fire. This is a bar and music venue whose visual presentation is clearly in the hands of young-ish people in love with late twentieth century media, and it shows in ways that I consider quite pleasant and comforting. Once you get past the lobby there are two separate levels. One is an upstairs section at which the shows take place. The other is a downstairs section which is more of a casual bar, pizzeria, and sometime discotheque. I have only been to the downstairs section, although I intend to soon attend a show in the upstairs section and will update once that transpires. The bartenders are friendly and happy to answer your questions, and will remember you even after one night out there, which says a lot to their attentiveness and friendliness. I can speak very highly of Spirit's customer service. I've been here on a casual day when there was an interactive bingo game going on hosted by a bartender with an energetic personality comparable to that of a young Liza Minelli, and also when there was an Italian-themed Disco night. Late into the night, I had the delight of being served after-midnight spaghetti by a gentleman on rollerblades in a pup mask, which gave the event a good degree of flavor. Recommended food/drink combo: Arugula Pizza, Aperol Spritz

Yelp
Incredible place for food and dancing! I came here for the Taylor Swift Dance Party they were hosting upstairs, but we first stopped downstairs for food. We ordered the Bickle pizza, which is cheese and pepperoni with jalapeños and ranch dressing. It had deliciously crispy crust from the wood fire oven, packed with toppings, and layered with a thin layer of sweet tomato sauce. The jalapeños weren't too spicy and the ranch dressing balanced out the heat. I was impressed with how quickly they got us our pizza with how crowded it was. Within 15 minutes a waiter brought our pizza out so we were able to make it to the event upstairs on time. The event itself was absolutely incredible! They had decorations and themed drinks for the night. Lights strung up everywhere and a disco ball rotating in the center of the dance floor. The speakers were loud enough to hear the music, but not overpowering that it hurt your ears and they projected Taylor Swift music videos on stage all night. Fantastic experience and I cannot wait to go back for another dance party.

Matt N.

Yelp
The best pizza I've had in Pittsburgh. Our party had multiple pizzas including the meatball tripper, margherita, sausage & peppers, and the white pizza. The white pizza is phenomenal. Theres not much more to say, other than you need to try it yourself!

Molly K.

Yelp
Spirit is weird. I try to rate and review businesses in light of what they're aiming to project and portray and I think Spirit has nailed exactly what they want to be. I have been coming to Spirit for years now. I particularly like going to sit on the back patio and have some of their pizza or should go to bingo Bango on Sunday night or trivia on Tuesday night. I typically hang out in the basement bar which is kind of dark in basementy. I have been in some of the upstairs area for KSWA wrestling (side note: not for me). I have always been very pleased with their entertainment, particularly bingo. I enjoy their pizza, notably the white pizza, with a thick and toothy crust. I typically stick to the beer for drinks the last night I tried a cocktail- a nice rum and dark berry mix which went down smoothly.

Katelynn D.

Yelp
This place is WEIRD... like REALLY weird. It was one of the most uncomfortable dining situations I've ever encountered as a matter of fact. My boyfriend and I purchased a "Just Pay Half" deal: $12.50 for $25 toward food and drink purchases, so we decided to stop by for a pizza Friday evening around 8:00. When we walked in, music was blaring (my fault for not realizing it is "clubish" before coming). There was a $10 cover fee to go upstairs, so we just decided to go downstairs to get our pizza. The ambiance was dark and creepy... similar to what I'd imagine living in an Edgar Allen Poe poem would be like. We decided to order a pepperoni pizza; $25 for a pizza is insane in my book! We also ordered drinks and to say the bartender was unpleasant is being polite. This bartender was MISERABLE. She was rude, especially when I asked if I could order my pizza at the bar. Then she proceeded to have an attitude while she asked for our drink order. The pizza was mediocre in my opinion. It tasted like a pizza I could make at home. I thought the pizza would be Spirit's saving grace, but it was definitely not. Edible? Yes. $25 deliciousness? NO. When we were done, I asked to use my Just Pay Half deal on the check. All of the employee were unsure of how to use it... they apologized because they "only get one like every two months." They then proceeded to ask me if I could scan it on my phone? I was so confused by this. 100% would never come back to Spirit... at least now I know?!

SJ K.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Wish I came here pre-Covid to check out the live music scene & dancing, but only recently stumbled upon this as a spot for pizza & drinks on their outdoor patio. Great service & good for groups. They have a good selection of pizza - we got the #10 and the bickle to share with a group of 5. Both were delicious, completely different from one another (the candied jalapeño & ranch from the bickle was so good!) , & were filling.

Tamara G.

Yelp
This was my second visit. Don't be deterred from the looks of things outside-Or inside as a matter of fact (quite retro & locates in the basement). The staff are super nice & the pizza is awesome. Plus drinks are cheap & they even have happy hour. We had a company happy hour here on a Friday & they created a special cocktail just for us. Our server was awesome & on top of things doing separate checks for like 16 people. They do have live music too. But earlier in the evening people even stopped in with kids. In summer there is a back patio. I parked in a lot to the right of the building & because it's off the slower end of Butler St you can still find free street parking as well, which is handy.

John C.

Yelp
Ok, I love this place. Great pizza lots of beer and drink choices, great staff and bartenders and great live music. Great music selection they play also! The replacements and lucero!!! Two of my all time favorites!! The pizza slice is actually two pieces!! And the pizza is so good! I had the staff picks, a red with black olives and goat cheese amazing! And the white pizza with sausage and banana peppers, my al time fave. 7$ I got to see 3 great bands And the patio is super cool on a nice night to sit and talk or hang out

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Love me some slice island. These guys are always slinging pie until the wee hours of the nights (Thursday through Saturday until 1 AM). The pizza and cheese is made in-house daily, quality ingredients for sure! Fresh focaccia bread baked with unbleached flour. Plus, they pull their own mozzarella and curdle their own ricotta. They always have a vegan option as well, which includes their house-made red sauce seasoned with fresh herbs. Topping are a bit pricey, especially for a whole pie, but I love how they sauté and season the veggies first to give some added flavor. Their salads and garlic knots are also delicious and everything is super fresh. Evident by the crowds of people you'll find in the kitchen night after night. Great pizza and tons of variety, worth the try if you haven't had it yet!

Karla D.

Yelp
I love everything about Spirit. They have the ability to gather crowds from all walks of life and it works. This is a fun place to see bands, have brunch, eat pizza, attend an art show. Everything the try seems to be a success. I like the various themes of events like the Pancakes and Booze art shows. $5 gets you in the door to see local art and eat all of the pancakes you can. The Bloody Mary bar at brunch is really brilliant. Just recently they had a light installation in display from a local artist (The Vault) that I wish could be there permanently. Spirit is a concept that I would gladly take any out of town guest to see. And the food...OMG brunch is always fresh and the pizza, wow...definitely some of my favorite in town.

Mikayla K.

Yelp
Definitely an interesting vibe. The white pizza is lacking flavor. Probably wouldn't get that one again. The double dip was delicious though!

Jenee S.

Yelp
Spirit is a very unique venue. They have a full bar in the basement with smaller events and a bigger stage for concerts upstairs. The bartenders have always been friendly and generous with drinks. We love the pizza! We've had a handful of different toppings and have enjoyed all of them. Each slice is 2 triangles cut into a square so you don't have to order a lot of be full. I'd recommend trying to buy a concert ticket at the venue to save money from online fees

Megan M.

Yelp
Spirit is one of the best venues in Pittsburgh. I've attended so many different, unique, events here from drag king/queen shows, a fermentation festival, a dance party with a light installation, a Diane coffee NYE party, and trivia nights. It would be a travesty to lose something Pittsburgh desperately needs. I hope this venue thrives again in 2021. This review is mostly in regard to the pizza kit we picked up at the Bloomfield market last Saturday. It was such a simple kit with sauce, dough, and mozzarella, but it was sooo good! I think it's the salty sauce and crispy crust combo. We topped it with chanterelle mushrooms and canned octopus. I will definitely pick up the kit again next time I see it at the market!

Rachel C.

Yelp
Yum! Always love to enjoy the food here when I'm hungry at Spirit. They have an excellent selection of pizzas that go well with the beer that they serve at the nearby bar and lounge. So far I tried the vegan pizza and white pizza options - both delicious! Would not hesitate to order the pizza here again and try some of the other flavors.

Erin M.

Yelp
Loves this strange find. Came about 4 hours from home to see Vacationer play this small venue. The code was perfect for the band, and we had a great time. The food was a great surprise and the white pizza was to die for. Super friendly staff in the pizza joint. Amazing lil patio, wish it wasn't winter. Reminded me of all the fave patios in San Francisco. All in all, a super great time. My only wish is that for concerts where people DANCE, aka Vacationer, the dining tables were a huge bummer. We had to squeeze into a little standing room between a merch table and a dining couple to dance. Hindering merch sales, but finding no where else to stand. Maybe just researching who the performer is before opening the room for the night, tables could be moved. Love it there though!!

Funtime P.

Yelp
If your an artsy, retro hipster then this is your place. It's in an old moose lodge. They have an all you can eat brunch buffet on Saturday and Sunday. You eat off of school cafeteria trays. There is a dj playing retro music and a bar. I tried it and liked it. Most of the food was good. They had: Salads and hummus Different pizza... (could be better) Benguiets and French toast sticks Bacon Biscuits and delicious mushroom gravy and sausage gravy and syrup Quiche and other choices Saw pics of donuts... DIDN'T see any on the buffet.... Would go back if was in the area.

Casey K.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this joint after seeing an advertised art show on Facebook, but apparently this place only opened a few weeks back under this new name. My first impression was that this place was going to be a gallery - but to my surprise it is indeed a funny little dive bar that does it all - art on the walls, a projector that shows movies and the all important GOT on Sunday nights, plus their better than most bar and food selection. The interior is definitely a lodge-y feel with wood panel walls and quaint Christmas lights hanging as if you were hanging out in your parents basement. The bartenders are friendly and timely. Since there isn't too much of a crowd, the bar staff has time to experiment and try some new mixology, ready to try a new combination as requested. There was also more food than I expected. I saw a few groups of people ordering pizza, which were served on pizza boxes.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Weirdest, darkest, but delicious-est all you can eat brunch for $15 that I've ever attended. It's in the basement, so your eyes have to adjust. Then you realize that the disco ball is spinning and the DJ is blasting some jams while a 3 year old takes it away on the dance floor. You have some biscuits with gravy or berry compote, quiche, fresh grapefruit slices, salad decorated with mandolined radishes, exquisite pizza, and perfect $3 cold-brew coffee (or included free bottomless drip!). You leave happy. UPDATE: Tried brunch out on the patio (I was a fool before for not realizing its glory!), and it was fabulous as expected. Going to keep coming back to this gem.

Mary-Michael M.

Yelp
Overpriced and with an attitude. But the ambiance is awesome. And I felt super hip while I was there. Even though I never could figure out which door to enter. The pizza is some of the worst pizza I've ever eaten. And I taught elementary school after Michelle Obama's dietary school lunch changes. One piece is halfway flexible and then stiff like hard like a brick. The other completely hard like a brick. It's inedible. Absolutely disgusting. I mean to the point that my dogs wouldn't eat it. And those two eat everything. Please see my other reviews! The crust is so hard on the one piece that the dogs are using it to drag it around the house and play with it by flipping it in the air and chasing it around. That doesn't seem right! It's really really hard and the toppings don't fall off.

Troy B.

Yelp
I visited here for the first time yesterday, and I fell in love with the place . . . (heart symbol) Was attending a private event, and from the moment I saw the building (This was an old Fraternal Order of the Moose), and noticed the garden boxes with edible plants growing in them, and the cool painting on the wall announcing "PIZZA," I had a good feeling about it. Once inside, the feeling stayed, and I felt at home right away. At the bar I ordered a draught of "Fighting Elleck" Cider, locally brewed at nearby Arsenal Cider Works. The function provided various styes of square pizzas, from plain red sauce and cheese to pepperoni, and even a white pizza with mushrooms, and a spicy Sicilian style with red peppers, all the pizzas I tasted were glorious! After our function ended, there was a band coming in to set up, so I suppose they provide live entertainment here also. I'll have to look into that for the next time I come back . . . this place is really cool . . . Spirit Lodge . . . Awesome!!!! P.S. I forgot to mention the artwork on the walls . . . lots of it, and very cool stuff. I even saw a painting of my friend on the wall, who is recovering from breast cancer, so that was something I never expected . . . so yeah, cool art too . . . !!!

Bob L.

Yelp
Had the Sunday brunch. The decor in the basement area was definitely not classy but interesting. All of the food was very good, and for only a $15 buffet! Great selection of both breakfast meat (bacon) and lots of vegan and gluten-free items. They make fresh salads and several pizzas for the buffet which I'm told switch from one weekend to the next. Don't go by outward appearance of the building...try it!

Jessica P.

Yelp
If you haven't been to In Bed by 10 at Spirit and you like to dance, you are seriously missing out!! Get there early because it gets packed. And dress in not very much clothing, even in winter, because it gets HOT. You can grab a yummy pizza from downstairs when you need a break from the dancing. The bar upstairs can get very busy too so you can always run down there for the bar too. I knew this place back when it was the local Lawrenceville Moose. The general look hasn't changed too much but they have added some nice elements, such as the bar upstairs, string lights and, most recently, some new seating upstairs. They have brunch on Sundays, events like concerts and comedy, and you can rent space for private events as well. We had a party in the downstairs bar and the staff was super accommodating and helpful. It was very appreciated.

Larry F.

Yelp
I'm reviewing this as an evening or late night music venue. I did not try the pizza or other food. Spirit is a chill, comfortable, spacious music venue. There's plenty of seating. Good sized stage and excellent sound. Audio engineering (AKA "sound guy") knew what he was doing and had the right equipment. Diverse drink menu with good bottles (such as Hendricks Gin) and a menu of specials. Creative and fun patio and smoking area with that iconic bus with free jukebox. Staff was courteous and helpful. I didn't get to try it, but having a pizza place in the basement is a nice bonus. Really just a well thought out and comfortable space for concerts and events. Lots of places to get away from the music and chat if you like. Restrooms were easy to locate, and, eh, clean enough. Recommended if you want to put on or see a show.

Cydney K.

Yelp
Spirit is hands down one of the funnest bars I've ever been to! I came here last night with my two friends and we had a blast. They were playing 80s music and had a disco ball going. I've been here before for shows and it's always great, but last night was especially a great time. It was also the first time I got a chance to try their pizza and it was soooo good. It was crispy on the bottom but cheesy on top. I highly recommend grabbing some pizza from here. I just love the concept so much it's a bar, pizza place, and music venue all at once. Definitely give this place a shot if your looking for good food, a bar to go to, or to catch a good show.

Yelp
I saw the HUMP! Film Festival here and also consistently come to this place for their awesome DANCE party, IN BED BY TEN. Check it out, it has okay music, but an awesome, diverse crowd where people genuinely are having fun. The funk night is also pretty good, but if you're downstairs, it's gonna get really, really hot. Street parking is free but can get crowded depending on the night. After the businesses across the street close, their parking lot is usable. I haven't heard of anyone being towed from there. I've stolen bites off of people's pizza, and the white pizza is really good. Drink / Bar wise, they have decent prices and efficient bartenders. Their selection isn't always super diverse though, so try to be patient! :)

Yelp
This past Sunday one of the several times I've been to Spirit, and it's always been an eccentric and fun time! The first was for a music performance, the second was just to hang out, and this most recent visit was for Sunday's "Bingo Bango." Spirit is known for its pizza which is SO GOOD, but their drinks are also awesome. Last time I got a chard margarita and this time I got a tomatillo margarita and a few hot ciders. It's always a pleasant surprise to see what's on the menu for both food and drinks. Drinks can be a little pricey, which is the only drawback for me. One of the coolest things about Spirit is the atmosphere. It's always super strange in a positive way and you really never know what to expect. Bingo bango is definitely not family appropriate, but it's a fun activity for friends or maybe even a date that doesn't mind something out of the ordinary!

Yelp
Review is for Sunday brunch. A college buddy brought me here within 1 hour of landing for their brunch buffet and bottomless cups of coffee. Who doesn't like bottomless anything (except wells when you fall in them, but I avoid those things). Things I liked: 1. Ambiance. It was a cool basement space, I enjoyed the music and DJ, and the use of.school lunch trays really rocked. 2. Coffee. I wish I wrote.down the roaster. It was good coffee and they offer almond milk for no extra charge. I swooned at that. 3. Buffet options. Salads, breakfast food and pizza... they cover vegan/vegetarian with some limits, but overall good mix of selection. Even a vegan pizza option. 4. Service. They were great, I never needed to ask for a refill on coffee or water and plates just vanished without wondering whether you should self bus your table. The "meh" stuff: I just want that into the food. It was great variety, but there wasn't one thing that i would, sat, dream about having again. All in all, decent experience, but as a traveler who comes in regularly for work, I wont likely make this brunch buffet a habit, without the WOW, there are just too many other brunch options to explore.

Yelp
I attended an event at Spirit and had a great time! The space is large enough for a decent size crowd downstairs, with plenty of seating and a very large bar area. The beer was cold and the food was good! I wasn't upstairs, but I've heard it is also a great event space as well. Hearing about this Sunday brunch has me interested! I certainly have it on my to-try list now!

Yelp
Brunch = AMAZE. To be quite honest, I had been given poor information that Spirit was a "weird place" by someone who visited once during an interpretive dance night, ASSUMING all nights at Spirit were strange. They were very wrong. While I have not been at night, I can say that brunch is AWESOME. There is a buffet set up in the main room for you to serve yourself as much deliciousness as you would like, with the option to order drinks as well. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised at the selection. There were tons of vegetarian options and some vegan options, with meat eaters still being catered to as well. The place itself was simply a lodge given a minor face lift and nothing more, which I think really adds to the character. No modern, unnecessary frills. It was relatively empty when we arrived and were waited on right away. It's a "seat yourself" kind of brunch (at least when we were there since there was not a large stream of people) and plenty of tables open for dining. I will absolutely be back for the nightlife and even more brunch in the future!

Yelp
Great small venue. The concert was pretty cool. Tonight's show was for 18 and older. The bar was very affordable including three dollars for PBR. Besides being a music venue Spirit is also pizzeria. Their back patio has a great atmosphere. Outside there is plenty of seating, a fire pit and a retrofitted school bus.

Yelp
The Bahn Mizza is spectacular. Get the vegan cream sauce...delish. Also loved the White Pizza. Seating was outside under cover and had a nice vibe.
