Absolutely wonderful breakfast, super friendly staff, and great atmosphere. I enjoyed the entire experience. Oh, and big portions too. I had plenty left for lunch. 5 stars, plus!

Found a gem in the desert with this quaint restaurant. Food is very good with big enough portions. Went for a lste breakfast and will have to go back for lunch since bfast was very good. We waited a couple of minutes to sit because it was busy. Customers ranged from families to elderly with a steady stream of people going in and out. The experience was god from start to finish. Courteous & awesome service and food was very good.

Wanted to give them a better review - it's not the food or the service, although the cooks are a bit long winded and i can hear them talking smack - the kitchen is literally visible. But, it's the wait - instead of alerting folks who sit around after eating they need to go, they allow folks to wait - we left twice after almost 30 min - have not returned for 2024 or 2025. Might mosey over this year and hope the issue is addressed with signs or some notification - people don't care if your customers are waiting, so a business should care.

The biggest portions that I’ve ever see huge pancakes eggs and bacon nice waitresses very cheap would definitely recommend and go again.

The speed of service was fast but personable, the food was hot and fresh, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. By far one of the best restaurants I've ever been to and would have given 6/5 stars if I was able. Highly recommend! I would have taken photos of my food but it was too tempting not to eat immediately

Great food and service. Reasonable prices. Simple but cozy ambiance. This is the first local restaurant I've found that actually makes a good steak and egg breakfast! My wife is enjoying all the different omelet and skillet choices available. I tell you, we were diehard Molly Brown's Country Cafe patrons until we discovered this place. Highly recommended.

A little cramped because it was busy but the food was really good, the servers were super nice and I definitely plan on going again to see everything they have but the pot roast was great. The mashed potatoes were cooked amazingly.

Prices are slightly high, but portions are very large (sometimes I wish restaurants would sell smaller portions - like 2 eggs omelets instead of 3 - at a cheaper price). Very friendly staff, the service is however a bit slow. I like the western decor and the vibe. There are patio seating options (50% under the sun so bring your hat and sunscreen!) The food was good but nothing spectacular. My potatoes were on the dryer side, slightly under seasoned. The French toast was good, just overly sweet. Go there if you crave large breakfasts! I would go back to try their lunch.

Apple Valley: Open for breakfast and lunch only and closes at 2 PM. I believe they're closed on Tuesdays but check. Beer, wine & champagne. Pack yourself in this small and mighty cafe serving large portions of whatever you order. Everything is homemade. If you're there on a Thursday or Saturday, order the hearty Meatball Soup. It's VERY delicious and hearty, full of fresh vegetables, potato and meatballs. If that doesn't fill you up then any one of their breakfast scrambles or omelets will be enough for the entire day. I like the Reuben Sandwich ~ with some nice choices of sides like homemade potato salad or since I'm already clogging my arteries with a Reuben, their onion rings are superbly crunchy. Pot Roast: Ample portion and very tender pot roast. Great homey meal. Turkey Bacon Club: Kudos to you if you can eat it at one sitting. Plenty! Very good club with fresh lettuce/tomato makes this a filling lunch. Be sure to check their daily specials and note: this place gets busy so go with the busy flow. Service is prompt . Easy parking. 3% charge for credit cards (ugh).

Honestly 10/10, I had a craving for fries with ranch and a coffee and this exceeded my expectations. The Tri tip sandwich was so flavorful and savory, best tri tip sandwich I've had, the fries are battered and the ranch is delicious. It's a very busy restaurant (no surprise here) so I do recommend coming before you're hungry! It was very quick to get seated and the food did not take long at all either, it's a very warm welcoming place and I will definitely be going back again!

This is my families go to breakfast spot in Apple Valley! It's smaller, but very homey and the food is fresh and not greasy at all. Waitresses are all very nice and their menu is extensive. I always recommend Spirit River to my local friends we're looking for a great breakfast or lunchtime experience!

I've been here once before but that was YEARS ago so this felt like the first time. We got there at about 1pm, they close at 2pm. We could *feel* the rush. We were hurried to a table and immediately asked about drinks. Server showed up soon after and asked if we were ready to order. She was speaking fast, wrote everything down, then we noticed her rushing around the restaurant to her tables. I understand hurrying within that last hour but it made us feel rushed. We were all still eating when we received the check. On the food; the corned beef was OK. A bit dry but it seems to be popular here. I ordered the ranch potatoes and an egg, and grabbed a cinnamon roll to go. The cinnamon roll was not heated up so I received it wrapped in cling film inside a box and it had a side of soft butter with it. The potatoes were alright but unseasoned. Large hearty chunks of potato with some green bell pepper and onion. I would have liked this to have some more crispy edges; the crispy parts are the best. I enjoyed them anyway. The cinnamon roll was taken home and heated up later. It became gooey and sticky and was delicious! I don't understand the butter with it so didn't use that. If anything I would have liked more icing on the side, but this was good though. It's a "cinnamon pecan roll" and at first I thought they were missing a pecan topping or something, but when eating it I found all the good stuff on the inside layers! The food was fine. Cinnamon roll was my favorite part. The service made us feel rushed and we were out of there around 1:30 so there was still time before closing even after we left. This visit didn't make me want to go back.

We stopped by on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon with a large party, and I was honestly impressed. Even with the weekend rush, they seated us within 15-20 minutes. They also have a nice outdoor patio with umbrellas, and while the inside is small, it's cozy and still fit our large party comfortably. The food was amazing. I ordered the turkey sausage and eggs, but the real star was the banana pecan bread. I would go back just to buy a whole loaf and snack on it all week. Everything came out hot, fast, and fresh, and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely kind. Overall, great service, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a place I'll be returning to.

Food was delicious and hot. I ordered the steak and eggs with mini waffle. Staff is friendly, definitely an old school diner vibe because the servers were predominantly women. Restaurant is tiny so I wouldn't recommend for a large party. Recommendation: Baked goods

Cute little country cafe off the beaten path. Plenty of seating both inside and outside, if you have kids outside is a great choice, big open courtyard for them to run around and play. If you want to sit inside you may have a little wait, we chose outside and got seated right away. Food was amazing and super large portions! Enough to feed a cowboy. We ordered eggs Benedict, the thick ham steak took up 1/2 my plate, super yummy. Full order of Biscuits and gravy, holy cow it could have fed the whole table, I recommend the 1/2 order for 1 person. The biscuits were freshly made and so soft and tender, sausage gravy was delicious as well. Last by not least the Cowboy omelet, my husband said it was fantastic and he is an omelet aficionado. Prices were fair IMO, $58 for the 3 meals and 3 drinks, especially for the amount of food you get. We had doggie bags to take home. I pay that for 2 meals in Southern California where we live and never have left overs. Staff were amazing and super friendly and on top of it, didn't have to wait for anything. Kitchen staff seem to be super efficient because as busy as they were our food came out really quick and cooked perfectly! We really enjoyed Spirit River cafe, we visit Vegas often and will be back for sure.

I just learned of this restaurant during the week. They had an excellent variety of options, unique toast selections, and friendly staff. The food was a bit pricey, but I may be living in the past since I don't eat breakfast out often. It was a little difficult to find them once I parked. Their entrance was in the courtyard and I saw no signage to the restaurant entrance. Also, be sure your entire party is present, you will not be seated until everyone is there.

Found this little gem on our way home from Vegas. So glad we stopped because this was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a while. Do yourself a favor and start with the banana bread. I had the bacon, avocado and cheese omelette and my husband had the cowboy skillet. The pancake was so delicious and fluffy and even the wheat toast made it's way into the to go box. Stellar service and friendly staff over all. We are going to make this place our "must stop" on the way back from Vegas from now on. Thank you!!!

I love the food here, have had lots of things off the menu and have never need disappointed. Customer service is amazing the ladies are always friendly and the owner is always inviting. My favorite place to eat.

Wonderful cafe for breakfast or lunch. Today it was 82 degrees out, absolutely beautiful, so we sat on their large patio. They are dog friendly! I had the patriot waffle; one Blueberry Belgian Waffle with strawberries and whipped cream on top. Everything was delicious. Service was really fast. This place is very popular, it looked like a 5-10 minute wait to sit inside for any groups larger than 2. Five stars for great food, outdoor seating, and being dog friendly.

We had brunch on 4th of July! The plates are nicely served. Service is great and food is delicious. It was a full house but the servers were on top of things.

The menu size is perfect and the breakfast food was literally amazing! The waitresses are attentive and the service was great. We sat outside on the patio and the ambiance made for a perfect desert day!

Always really good breakfast, I haven't had something here I didn't enjoy. Staff is friendly and this place is a cool diner to stop by whether you are from Apple Valley or not.

I have been going to this restaurant off and on through the years. It is in the Spirit River Center that has the statue of Roy Roger's Trigger at the entrance. I ordered an Athena Scramble with fresh fruit and flatbread. It is eggs scrambled with olives, tomatoes, and mushrooms topped with crumbled feta cheese. The flatbread came grilled on one side and was crispy and soft at the same time. It was enjoyable with the contrast in texture. I also ordered a single pancake, buttermilk this time as they did not have buckwheat that morning. All of the items were tasty and very satisfying. This is a good place for breakfast and lunch. A good restaurant to put on a rotation. Food and service is consistently good here.

UPDATE: a few years later and everything is as great as it's ever been. Same great team of people, which must tell you that this place is a great place to work. If the employees are happy, the food and service will be good. The place is always busy, which also means something. And if you're a Karen that complains about the wait, the people behind you will be happy to take your place.

Walked in and was greeted with friendly smiles. This place is a country style all American food cafe. I found this place through a friend and it did not disappoint. I had breakfast burrito with country potatoes and an ice tea. Every bite was delicious! The jalapeño tortilla was a bonus! Simply delicious! If you like it e tea, they brew it to perfection. I love this place. It's a regular spot for us. The food is always delicious. My friends had the cheeseburger and fries, my other friend had a delicious sandwich. I had the best blt! I ordered fruit instead of fries. The fruit was amazing. We will continue to go here. Thank you Spirit River for always having good food!

Someone recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. My two teenage boys, ordered French toast and they loved it. The large portions filled them up, very delicious. I would definitely recommend. Service was fast and friendly. Place is clean, small but the flow is fast.

Adequate seating, Clean and well kept. You're greeted when you walk in with a smile, and seated fairly quickly. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is plentiful and flavorful!

Update: still dine here frequently. Things are mostly the same. Still come for the corned beef hash. Post covid they have seating outside. Service can be a little hit and miss if you're seated outside and they get busy but it's not enough of an issue to take a star off. Still would recommend.

Food 7/10 Coffee 5/10 Service 4/10 Value 8/10 Food: The food at this location is standard diner food your usual breakfast brunch items. The Texas skillet was very well put together no issues with meal. For the location being a diner/cafe the food was as expected. The use of hot sauce is usually required with these spots. But the beef was not dried out and the eggs were cooked well variety of veggies used was basic for the skillet all in all acceptable. Coffee: Coffee is advertised as freshly ground coffee so "bean to cup" for diner coffee it was good not too bitter but still bold drinkable either with or without cream. Basic coffee though not much to say. Service: The waitress I had was ok welcoming but seated me in a corner right next to kitchen entrance. But that is not the waitress fault but is the owner fault for doing a poor job with the table layout. The owner should look into changing the tables around in my opinion the location was not using all the tables at time I went so in my opinion why seat someone in a bad table when others are open. But could be how the waitress routes are which is an owner issue. The waitress could have been more attentive though that needs to improve but I was also right by the kitchen entrance so inconvenient for a waiter or waitress to stand there for a long period of time. Value: This diner gives prices that equals the service atmosphere and food of location which is acceptable

Long wait, food was bland. People were nice but it's a small venue and the prices are expensive for food that doesn't match in quality.

We. came here on a Sunday morning about 11:15. The wait was only about 15 minutes but worth it. The service was great and the food was excellent!! Try it!!

We had an omelette and chicken fried steak. We have been in the High Desert 37 years and we eat out often. My husband orders chicken fried steak all the time. Sometimes he hates it, likes it or its pretty good. But he has never said " its the best I have ever had and I would order it again!" We loved the iced tea! tasted fresh ---something that happens seldom. I highly recommend this restaurant. July 13, 2025

Truly best customer service we've had. First day going Saturday and had to go back Sunday because food was great tasting and service is great!

Amy the waitress is as rude as it gets. I formed a breakfast club and we went every wednesday. Needless to say we stopped going.

I give the Spirit River Cafe ! I don't know why I didn't think to write a review sooner, but better late than never. Head's up there is usually a wait. We have been coming here 9 years now. Let me say I'm kind of picky when it comes to food being done right. The food is always delicious! The service continues to be friendly and excellent. I love the country music, country vibe and its decor. I recommend the Vera Cruz Omelet with their homemade house salsa. If you have a sweet tooth you can't go wrong with the Pecan Cinnamon Roll French Toast is awesome with sausage patties and eggs or Patriotic Waffle by itself. I really haven't tried anything on their menu I don't like and if you're an early bird they have a nice discounted menu before 8:00AM.

I came here with two of my elementary age kids. The hostess was friendly l. We were seated right away and a server got us drinks. The food choices for breakfast was great. Lots of choices for different tastes. They had a early bird menu for 7.99. I didn't see anything I wanted on there, but I thought that was a nice touch especially if you're dining on a budget. I had the steak and eggs and my kids had the eggs, pancakes, and hash browns from the kids menu. My steak was cooked well and had a nice flavor. I had asked for my hash browns to be crispy and it came out the way I wanted them. The coffee was also great. They grind their own coffee, and it tasted fresh. The server was great at keeping things filled and was very friendly. The bathrooms were also clean. There wasn't anything broken, and there was no graffiti. The ambiance was great. It has a western feel. Everyone was very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend breakfast here if you're in the area.
