Good coffee for a reasonable price. No cold brew, but the iced coffee is good. 50 cent surcharge for non-dairy milks. They had one vegan baked good option, not a whole lot else on the menu it seemed for vegans. Staff were very nice. Space was large and open with additional shaded seating outside.

Barista was very sweet, and makes a really good latte. Food was delicious! Breakfast croissants had juicy sausage and nicely cooked eggs with an amazing sauces on the side. Inside is spacious and inviting atmosphere. Seems like a go-to for locals and tourists alike!

Beware the old reviews - this is not the same place it was! I just gave this café another try, hoping it had gotten better. No, it was worse. This was our experience: Ordered a chicken club sandwich for $12, a turkey and cheddar sandwich for $10, an iced chai for $4, and an unsweet tea. But the server tells me they only have two flavors of tea, and he "thinks" they are both sweetened. I ask for ice water, he gestures to a jug of water (without ice) where I can fill up a cup. I pay for the order, plus add a small-ish tip. Made the mistake of saying I didn't need my receipt. As we make our way to our seats, he comes up and says they are out of chicken, but they can make it with turkey. Fine. He comes back and asks us if we want pasta or chips with our sandwiches, we select pasta-- which I clarify is a cold pasta salad. When the other server brings our food, there's no bacon on the club sandwich, which comes with bacon. I get up, ask the original server about the bacon. He *then* informs me that they are out of bacon! I said, "But I paid for bacon." "No you didn't," he says. Straight up tries to fabricate a story, ends up babbling gibberish and walks away. I can't prove it, right, because I don't have a receipt. But I know he rang me up for the $12 chicken club sandwich when I ordered it, and now I am having a $10 turkey and cheddar sandwich. The food was fine, but unremarkable. They only have four sandwiches on the menu, two of which they cannot serve as advertised because they are out of the main ingredients. There's a very nice grocery store literally across the street-- go buy some bacon. The iced chai was bland and watery. The pasta salad was basic. The atmosphere isn't; as in there is no atmosphere. It is a large, empty room with some table and chairs. You can see by the photo that the place was completely empty at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon, when other places in the same area have generous crowds. There's a reason for this. I rarely write poor reviews-- for the most part I just don't bother writing them. But this is so disappointing partly because it used to be great little breakfast and lunch spot, as well as a cute and unique gift shop. I'm sure the owners are tired of the comparisons, but sheesh, it's hard to avoid. This place is just nothing now. Heed the empty room-- don't bother.

I met a girlfriend for iced coffe that was delicious here. It was my first visit and I will definitely return. They have a wonderful gift store and coffe shop! There is a unique plant section with some amazing cactus.

Google
Love it, they didn't have cold brew on the menu, I asked and they said they could provide. I promise I'm not bougie, I just prefer the most caffeine! (It was probably just iced coffee, nbd). The chocolate peppermint cookie pared well. And I absolutely loved window shopping all the gorgeous jewelry, stones and crystals. A lovely shop for gifts! They had ample seating for any coffee shop work, indoor and out. I loved the couch and the big tables were appealing too.

I love sprit winds. As of posting this review, is under renovations into a taphouse. I'll post a new review then

Google
Stumbled across this place while looking for a local coffee shop while in town for the weekend. We were not disappointed! OMG the Spirit Latte was amazing! (Their signature drink). Definitely try it if you want something different. The ambience of the whole place is fun and quirky, and the gifts area is curated extremely well. Most of the time a shop like this is a huge fail... but they nailed it with some really unique goods and very unique cards and other stuff. If I lived in town I am pretty sure I would come here all the time - and for the right friend I would be able to get the perfect bday gift in a matter of minutes.

Got the Mexican hot cocoa. Was good sized and priced well. Pretty tasty too. Quiet atmosphere. Sat there for a couple of hours with a friend talking and had an enjoyable time. Looking to come back often for a quiet place to sit indoors or out.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me so long to visit this place after they renovated a few months ago! I didn't think that this cafe/gift shop matched my taste in cafes because of the old purple walls, but with the more minimalistic design (light brown/white colors and simple menu), I love so much about it! Staff is incredibly friendly and attentive to your needs. When I asked if dairy creamer was the only option they had for coffee, they said that they also had almond milk and soy milk to offer without charge! Other cafes are quick to charge a minimum of 50¢ to $1.00 for dairy substitutions, so I was pleased with these options :) To keep up to speed with the hip trends of cafes, if they add oat milk - I will be soooooold as making this my favorite cafe in Cruces. The breakfast sandwich I had was so delicious! The croissant was flaky and buttery, and the egg was soft and fluffy! The tomatoes and lettuce were crisp, and the overall freshness of the entire sandwich made my stomach sing with happiness~ There's also plenty of spaces with 3 tables near the door/windows, a long communal space in the middle, and 3-5 more tables along the perimeter of the cafe. I noted 3 spaces for outlets. I know that a lot of students from my grad program study at this place, and they offer WiFi for the public to use. I saw some studies out on the front patio, so the WiFi stretches to the outside too if you want to study out in the warm sun!! I have yet to check out the gift shop, but it seemed to be hipster and cute! 10/10 would come back :)

Yelp
The staff seemed a little rushed but maybe they were just trying to get me in and out as quickly as possible. I would expect to find this in a big city, but not LC. Anyway, the main thing is that the coffee was phenomenal. It is so refreshing to find a place that knows how to make decent coffee. The staff could have called me names and spit in my face and I still would have left happy after that first sip. Spirit Winds is an oasis in a desert of mediocre coffee. Maybe tell your staff to slow down and try and chat with people.

Yelp
Spirit Winds used to be such a cool and unique place. I had not been in many years and was disappointed to see that the gift shop was no longer there. The staff was inattentive and rude when I went in today. They seemed like they didn't want to help anyone and had better things to do. The coffee was actually really good but the food was not good and there are limited options. I got the breakfast sandwich and it lacked flavor. I'd come back to try the lunch options but thoroughly disappointed in the level of service and options. I do love Ice Box though and it looks they may be opening a brewery here soon. It has potential with better staff and better food options.

Rhiannon H.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop with some NM made gift items such as: jewelry, cards, books, and clothing. Inside & outside seating. Friendly service. I got the lavender latte and it was delicious.

Roo F.

Yelp
The cute gift store within the cafe is no longer happening- they shared they are under different management. Right now it is just a huge empty space with lots of empty display cases. There were two muffins in the pastry case, didn't stay, was super bummed. Maybe I came at a weird transition time.

Yelp
Coming from a hike and wanting something light to eat or drink. Had drinks but none seemed refreshing although they had good smelling coffee. No complaints there. Ended up with a yogurt and fruit on top. It was delicious but it was so small too. The shop inside has some interesting stuff and it has a nice relaxing ambiance which many people enjoyed working on their computers or having a good conversation. The service was friendly but would be cool to have a toppings section for your yogurt. I can see myself returning for another bite. Provecho!

Job A.

Yelp
Best coffee in town. Prove me wrong. Large open space to work away from from, great staff.

Yvette A.

Yelp
Was traveling thru and did a road-trip stop. The coffee was so good!!! Be prepared it is a bit of a wait for the coffee and food (they have a limited selection). Cute store to shop in while you are waiting.

Janet A.

Yelp
Went here for years. Good coffee great shopping but arrived this paste weeks the merchandise is gone, menu gone. And apparently they ran out of decaf over a month ago. Tip options should art at 20% on bank machine yet she got sidetracked and I had to deliver my coffee to myself. Apparently the place has sold and it is turning into a beer parlour.

Hailey M.

Yelp
Super sad, this used to be my favorite coffee shop but now one half is a bar and the other a coffee shop, and the vibes don't go together at all! It used to be such a nice aesthetic but now it feels like two different places. I miss the old spirit winds!

Jackie S.

Yelp
I think maybe they're renovating? Because when I went this morning, there was no gift shop, just an unfinished coffee seating area with unorganized decor lying around. There are couches, upholstered chairs, ottoman chairs, regular metal chairs.. some have tables, some don't. A few people had laptops open, so it may be a decent spot to study if you can snag the right corner. I do need to emphasize the "unfinished" portion of my description. It was pretty disappointing from an ambiance standpoint. It didn't feel like a cozy coffee spot. I felt like I was in someone's storage attic. Other reviewers are correct, you may not be greeted or acknowledged when you come in. We weren't. But, eh.. Their pastries look delicious, though we only ordered a latte and americano. If you plan on staying to drink coffee there, maybe mention that, because they put our drinks in to-go cups even though we weren't planning on leaving. The drinks themselves were quite average quality.. We waited maybe 20 minutes for our drinks and there was no one in line before we got there. I probably wouldn't return.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Fun and different coffee spot. Plenty of seating inside and out. Two tables with outlet access. Important for someone like me a remote worker Had vanilla latte and dirty chai super Yums better than chain down the street. Here there is plenty of parking. Not like chain down the street They also service sandwiches, salads we shared a blueberry muffin that was decent What is fun about this place is there is shopping!!! Need an eclectic gift for that someone that everything you will find something unusual here

Gowan H.

Yelp
Their coffee was delicious! Great customer service and a nice outside patio to sit at. The gift shop had some cool stuff and was able to find my wife a birthday present. Will definitely be back the next time in Las Cruces for work.

William G.

Yelp
After getting done with business in Las Cruces, I came over to this place for some much-needed coffee. The parking situation was a bit tough that day, but I found parking on the adjacent streets. This coffee shop doubles as a gift shop. It has plenty of souvenirs for sale, and it is decorated with bright pastel colors. They have plenty of coffee options, but I stuck with one of my regular orders. Specifically, I ordered an iced latte with extra espresso. This coffee shop has plenty of seating inside, and has some outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly, and they were efficient in service. The patrons here were pretty chill people. I just wish I had the time to sit down and chat with people that day. But I had to be in El Paso at a certain time, so I left shortly after getting my drink. If I found myself in the area again, I would stop by to try out their other options.

Alfredo N.

Yelp
A great coffee shop and gift store! I recently went there with a couple of friends to have breakfast on a Sunday morning. Great coffee options and affordable prices, they even have refills, I tried asking and they said yes. I can't remember how many times I went there to study and do homework when I studied at NMSU. It is close to campus and the environment is relaxed. It is quite busy during lunch, and weekend mornings so be aware of that! They upgraded a lot of stuff (decoration, tables, etc) inside and outdoors in the past few months so definitely a great spot to go to in Cruces.

Michael K.

Yelp
Was recommended on yelp as a friendly place, but when we came in, waited for about 15 minutes before the barista acknowledged us, at least Starbucks people say hi.

B S.

Yelp
Great study spot. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Love the ambience. Had an iced matcha latte that was very refreshing. Not too sweet, just how I like it! Parking right out in the front.

Rachel B.

Yelp
This coffee shop is what my dreams are made of. Amazing coffee and sweet little finds in the shop(I definitely bought way more then I needed!). After I shopped for a little I grabbed and iced latte and found a cozy spot to relax and read a book. The coffee is strong and the employees are kind and make you feel very welcomed. Exactly what I needed while visiting town.

katie f.

Yelp
Yummy lavender iced coffee. Thank you! Super cute store too. Was looking forward to some healthy lunch options as we drove through Las Cruces, but they aren't back to full service yet :(

Tori C.

Yelp
I love to order an iced almondmilk latte with no syrup! The espresso is rich and smooth and love the vegan options available like the muffins.

Margaret C.

Yelp
They have great baked goods to include scones, muffins and breakfast cakes. The yogurt with granola and berries will always be my favorite.

Audrey H.

Yelp
I have a collagen disorder that makes it impossible for me to wear a mask. I also already had COVID so I am not likely to be transmitting it. The clerk told me harshly that I had to wear a mask to come in, and I said I had a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask. He said it doesn't matter and I still couldn't come in without a mask, so I left. Most people have been understanding when I explain why I'm not wearing a mask. Maybe he's just following the governor's orders, but tons of other establishments in the past weeks have been much nicer to me than this clerk at Spirit Winds. Are disabled people just supposed to be confined to home if they can't wear a mask? Some people have legitimate reasons they are not wearing masks. It's not just that people don't care about safety or something.

Annette O.

Yelp
Awesome shop inside. They have so many gorgeous pieces and interesting finds. Snagged a book and enjoyed reading it in the outdoor patio while sipping on my vanilla latte. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Tammy Bahtina-Fox N.

Yelp
Ugh, I love this place. I love to support local coffee shops when I can and if they don't mind me hanging around there for a hours while I study. Their coffee is a breath of fresh air from the usual Starbucks drinks. Try the Spiritwinds latte, delicious. The paninis, bagels, and treats they have there are DELICIOUS. They have a bunch of cards (great for when you are looking for a unique birthday card or whatever), knick knacks and art for sale, too. You can take a study break and peruse or sit there and soak in the art all around you. A few of the tables inside are close to outlets and free wifi, so you can keep your laptop powered up while you're in the study zone. Parking: They have a small lot in the front with a few spots and there is also street parking on the small street to the side of them.

Yvette L.

Yelp
I was traveling and my husband and I wanted somewhere to chill before hitting the road again. I saw that this place has a pretty good rating, so we went there. I ordered a matcha latte, and my husband ordered a regular iced coffee, his drink was okay but mine wasn't worth the money. The latte tasted like milk with a hinch of matcha flavor but definitely not a matcha latte (you'll understand what I'm saying if you try it). With the money I paid for this latte, I expected something much better, I could've order this at Starbucks with a similar price but a much better drink.

Maryam M.

Yelp
Love this place. Very professional and friendly staff. Great place for studying and enjoying your evening. Definitely I am recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful and quiet place to read and have coffee.

Foggy D.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for lunch. I like that the menu is broad enough I can satisfy my cravings for vegetarian dishes, as well as, dishes that have tuna or even chicken salad. This is one of the only places I can get a Black Bean Burger and believe me they're scrumptious. They have a full service coffee bar as well, and the espresso is my favorite. I like that I can stop in and have lunch and pick up a gift, either for myself or a friend at the same time. They have a neat and unique selection to choose from. The food, coffee and teas, and gifts are reasonably priced. Every time I go I come away saying to myself, wow, that was good!

Miguel C.

Yelp
Loved this place for years! The food is good, the coffee too and the gift shop is amazing and always changin Update: Oh my god what happened to the most unique gift shop ever? Now touristy and run of the mill. Food and coffee still good but the spirit is gone

Angela W.

Yelp
The Spirit Wind Gift Shop is a hidden Southwestern gem that's close to New Mexico State University. Nice handbags, wallets, shirts, jewelries, crystals and children's books. I like this local coffee cafe because it's different from Starbucks.

Avram G.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place while looking for a local coffee shop while in town for the weekend. We were not disappointed! OMG the Spirit Latte was amazing! (Their signature drink). Yelp
I needed a good place to get some work done while I was traveling, so my friend suggested this little place. I loved it as soon as I walked in the door. It sounds like maybe they redecorated recently, and they have plenty of options for seating both inside and out. I opted for the community table in the middle. For coffee I got my usual Vanilla Americano - it was a little sweet for me but that's my fault for not asking for less flavoring. I also got the breakfast croissant...flaky, buttery and soft croissant, egg cooked perfectly, cheese melted just so. Yeah, it was really good. I would highly recommend this place for people who work from home, students, etc.

Joanne K.

Yelp
Good coffee and sandwiches! free refill for coffee. huge size of muffins. good soup and salad! amazing hummus!

Isaac C.

Yelp
This place has taken a turn for the worst. It used to be an amazing, unique place witch generously sized portions to a run of the mill coffee shop with food. I live down the street from it and I cringe of how my once favorite place has turned into trash. Dont waste your time.

Flower P.

Yelp
I give this place a big THUMBS DOWN It should no longer be call Spirit Winds. too good of a name for this boring dead place. it's been ruined. nothing is the same. not the coffee. drinks. or atmosphere. Do Not Waste Time Las cruces. it's not worth it. I remember Spirit winds use to be busy and now it's simply slow and dead,

Aysha R.

Yelp
Beautiful shop with both retail offerings and a cafe. The staff are sweet and friendly - totally worth a stop if you're visiting. Chill vibe! The chai and kombucha were tasty.

B M.

Yelp
Great coffee, staff and shop! If you're looking for New Mexico or Las Cruces souvenirs this is a perfect spot!

Pati G.

Yelp
Every single time I've come here it's been wonderful. The service is friendly and prompt. Tables are cleaned quickly. The food tastes fresh. The coffee is good. Their Italian Peaches and cream soda is super delicious and not too sweet. I've spent hours writing, journaling, browsing the web which is to say the space is conducive to productivity. I love taking breaks and walking around the boutique shop and just be able to roll my eyes over beautiful creations. Every once in awhile I'll treat myself to incense or a new mug. The restroom is spotless. I've come here for business meetings, interviews, and as a meeting place to gather donations. I love that it's super queer friendly, very outwardly so and it makes me feel so welcome and comfortable. This is hard come by in this area. I live in El Paso and I drive up just to spend time here. Spirit Winds gets two snaps up in a Z formation!

Mandy M.

Yelp
Cute little place to go on a coffee date or get some work done, a bit over priced in my opinion but happy to support small businesses

Bella V.

Yelp
My recommendation: sit on the shaded patio with someone you love on a warm Spring afternoon and enjoy the Zesty Black Bean Burger and an iced cherry tea. The eclectic gift shop inside is perfect for a post-meal mosey before hitting the road again. Ten out of ten would stop again.

Jayce J.

Yelp
Super nice place. I've met the owners several times. Very clean. I occasionally study before COVID at this place and it's really quiet. The chi latte is good. So is the Italian cream soda.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Such a unique coffee shop with an eclectic gift shop including bumper stickers. Best dirty chai latte I've had in the El Paso/Las Cruces area!

Javier G.

Yelp
Went here the other day with a friend! Delicious espresso and bagels! Will come again to try other things on the menu. Very nice staff and good food representation. Will be coming here more often rather than more expensive Starbucks!

Monique G.

Yelp
I love this place. The gift shop is super cute with really unique items and they make a great London Fog!

Angela M.

Yelp
Very nice coffee place with a peaceful atmosphere. Cappuccino was delicious and slowing down to drink it out of nice ceramic cup and saucer. Even did a little shopping in the gift shop and found some unique finds.

Kim K.

Yelp
Honestly I really like this place. The interior, the vibe, the coffee and food/pastries are good. I take everyone I know here who hasn't been here. That being said I didn't give 5 stars because one of your employees kind of ruined my experience twice here. Maybe I won't name a name right now, but I've been waiting for one more rude interaction :) I work for customer service myself, I'm a barista myself, there's no reason to be rude to customers who hasn't done anything to you. Just a heads up if the owners read this, maybe emphasize this to your workers! I really mean no harm but I very much enjoy this place so for a worker to be rude really ruins it. Please be kind!

Phil A.

Yelp
They purchased products to sell from us over a year ago and never paid us! They screwed us out of $700 worth of goods. We called over a dozen times to collect our money, and every time they said that the person who takes care of that is not in. I left numerous messages and return numbers and they never called back. Please do not shop here. They are dishonest thieves screwing over small businesses.

Robyn K.

Yelp
I have loved this little gem of a coffee/gift shop for a long time. However the girl working in the cafe is not friendly and honestly makes me not want to go there anymore. They must have gone through ownership change because the entire look is different. However I don't think Richard the former owner would have tolerated employees that are not friendly and constantly whispering to other employees. Very non welcoming for a $50 lunch.

Lulu L.

Yelp
I lived in Las Cruces in the 90s and went to grad school in 2006 and always loved going to Spirit Winds. When I moved back to ABQ and later to Los Alamos I still made it point every December to make my pilgrimage to Spirit Winds for unique gifts and stocking stuffers. I always felt like it was one of the few cool places in LC. Well, this year I made my annual trip and OMG...what happened? The colors, the creativity, the vibe. G o n e. Less stuff, dull flat colors on the walls and it felt... flat. I don't know what to say. I am sad. What happened?

Leann M.

Yelp
My favorite place to go study, have some good coffee/tea, be in a good atmosphere, and hang out with friends. Possibly my favorite spot in Las Cruces.
