Best dinner of my life! Spirito Divino is a family-owned restaurant where you truly feel like part of the family. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious. They even have an ancient wine cellar that’s older than the Colosseum! I made a promise to myself to come back here every time I visit Rome. A truly unforgettable experience.

Google
Our favorite meal in Rome! They are a part of the Slow Food and Italian Chefs association, all organic, fresh, and home made- and it takes it. You can take the love. Great wine selection obviously! The staff were fun, the place was busy with wine tours and tables alike. I love how tucked away it is - felt very local. Definitely check out the wine cellar and then find the statue discovered there at the Vatican Museum :)

Google
our best meal in Rome!!!! The food was phenomenal, the carbonara was insane. Thank goodness it was our last dinner here because it’s hard to top. We also got the buffalo cheese appetizer, the lamb rigatoni, and the tiramisu, all so good. The service was awesome, our server and the owner both. Not sure why this place isn’t PACKED!! OH and the ability to see their wine cellar!! No words needed!! Recommending this place to our our friends back home!!

Google
Came here with our food tour to try their revived ancient recipe stew. It was absolutely amazing. This restaurant is in a location with amazing historical significance. They have a wine cellar below that is built in ancient ruins. It is amazing to see the ancient walls and learn the story of "The Scraper" which was found in the ruins below. It is a family owned and run business that provides great service and amazing food. I recommend everyone to try this restaurant, and definitely try the pork shoulder stew.

Google
Loved the experience and the food. The host is a character and is friendly with all the guests. We really enjoyed the food and whole slow cook experience. It was very fairly priced for the quality of food and environment. A post dinner peak at the underground wine cellar was a treat.

Google
We were lucky to get information for dinner! The owner/chef is amazing! And those mashed potatoes!! Nailed hospitality and knocked it out of the park for us! The wine cellar is super cool! Thank you from Buffalo, NY! Go Bills!

Google
We discovered this unique restaurant completely by chance, and it became one of the most unforgettable experiences of our time in Rome. The atmosphere is rich with history and Roman culture. The owner is incredibly friendly and engaging, and the food is simply excellent — authentic, flavorful, and made with care. Highly recommended!

Google
This was the best meal we had in Italy. And this may have been the best meal I've ever had, period. I loved everything about this place. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a whim, because our original pick Roma Sparita was reservation only and they did not let anyone else in. So we found this place, little non-descript door with a beautiful vine surrounding it and a small sign with the name. Walked in and they had a few opens tables for 2. The Owner/Chef was in the dining room personally. He informed us that all the food coming out of the kitchen was cooked by his mother!! How cool. We saw they had cacio e Pepe and had to try it. So we had 2 orders of the pasta, a cheese plate for an appetizer, and finished off with the Coffee Tiramisu. The pasta was so fresh and delicious. The cheese plate was a generous portion and the Tiramisu was to die for. There was nothing bad we tried. 74 euro for 2 people and you can't be mad at that!! Definitely must try if you are in the area!!

Yelp
1st Night in Rome going on a recommendation of a friend, we venture via Uber to a small non descript section of Rome for our 1st dinner. We arrive and if you aren't looking for this place you won't find it. Nestled on a cobblestone road with no real markings we arrive to a charming little place greeted by the owner / chef who says sit anywhere there is a two top. 1st thing is he takes us down to the wine cellar, 2000 plus years old where he asked what type of wine we like, then brings us to the area where we he chooses one for us. Dusty old wines charming ambiance just great stuff. Wine is perfect then proceed to the food. 1st dish is a special, short pasta with buffalo Ricotta cheese topped with black truffle shavings. I could have stopped there because that was a 12 on the 10 scale. House bread was ok. Momma & His wife were in the kitchen as the owner shuffled between host, chef & waiter. Entrees were simply ok a sliced beef in a spicy red sauce was more like shredded beef, while the lean pork was a bit tough. We skipped dessert. All & all charming place, not a real tourist trap, should have stayed with the Pasta. Wine cellar alone is worth the trouble. Not overly expensive & the owner & staff were great.

Yelp
Great place to eat if you're a history buff! The wine room in the basement is incredible! The stone is very old and used to be a 11th century synagogue. This restaurant was part of our food Eating Europe tour and was a crowd favorite. Everyone was blown away by the stew and red wine.

Yelp
Beautiful ,historic property. Wonderful hat and chef. The food was average to above average. The servers untrained to the trained eye.

Yelp
This is A MUST while in Rome. This small family ran restaurant is nestled in Trastevere. the food and experience is exceptional! I felt like i was part of the family. The restaurant is not very large and ran by the family. They work very hard and deliver Wonderful food. I loved this place so much we went back again with more of our family! The building has a lot of history including an ancient wine cellar with thousands of bottles of wine. I will say they occasionally have wine tours coming in a side door to see the cellar! I didn't mind it so much. Also plan on being there a few hours; if your in a rush don't stop in. I say that because everything is made to order and they make your meal a personal experience. The best meal i had while traveling in Italy and one of my favorite memories!

Yelp
So disappointed.... had been there a few months ago to celebrate my sister's birthday. Friend who had been there a few years ago highly recomeneded...slow food, chef, service and wine cellar history. Had a lovely meal and chef's son/manager was welcoming and even sent us home with a bottle of wine. This time, =was on trip with friends- and brought them with us- so table of 9! we are all foodies and very fond of good wine... I told him i was there back in April and what i a lovely time we had- he did not remember us, of course, but did not mind at all. But, the service was slow, he was condescending when we ordered, was short tempered with his staff in front of us- there was nothing welcoming... we were told we could go down to the cellar to pick out wine... seems like a bit of a marketing ploy as wines on menu, i.e. white...were down there and not chilled....

Yelp
Food is so good we went twice while in Rome. Truly couldn't find better food along with friendlier service. Place is small and intimate and felt like home.

Yelp
The Pork Mazio, a melt in your mouth shoulder stew, is one of the finest things we ate during an Italian vacation full of fantastic eats. This ancient Roman recipe executed so beautifully, combined with their insanely old and awesome wine cellar, cements Spirito Divino's credibility as an illustrious and worthy heir to Rome's storied culinary heritage. Plus, the rest of the food tastes really good. I also recommend wine. Wine is good, too.

Yelp
I N C R E D I B L E. My boyfriend and I had gone in July and it was the BEST dinner we had in Rome. From the service to experience to food- everything was incredible. We haven't stopped raving about it since... We didn't make reservations but didn't have any issues getting a table for 2. The amatriciana pasta was melt in your mouth good. The Pork Mazio is delicious. The attention to detail in the food and desserts is phenomenal. We got to bring down our glass of wine into the cellar and enjoy it down there. So cool that the cellar is older than The Colosseum!

Yelp
My family and I dined here a couple of years ago, and I forgot to review the restaurant. I cannot remember what we had, but every member of my family has a vivid memory of complete happiness! The food and wine were unbelievably delicious and the people so friendly and kind. You must dine here. You will be thrilled. As they say, When in Rome...

Yelp
We ate here in June of 2019 on our family vacation. There were a total of seven of us including our five kids ranging in age from 12 to 18 (there are twins in there). With prior reservations seating was prompt and not a problem. We found this family owned and operated restaurant to be among the best we've ever tried in our trips to Rome. I'm not sure I would call it a "family restaurant" in the sense that it has more of an upscale adult vibe and atmosphere to it but, having said that, the staff couldn't have been friendlier, nicer or more accommodating. The owner's son came to our table wearing his toque and sat with us for a long while talking to the kids about our vacation and joking around with them. The food was amazing and the menu well curated and varied. It specializes in ancient and classic Roman cooking using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Everyone was very pleased with their selections from each course of their meal. The presentation was great, the service was excellent and the whole experience was fenomenal. If you enjoy wine, the restaurant features a wide variety of offerings from their ample wine cellar the owner claims is older than the Colosseum and which everyone is invited to explore. The bottom line: if you have a more sophisticated palate and enjoy upscale food in a mature but not stuffy environment then you will love this restaurant. The amazingly friendly and polished staff is the icing on the cake.

Yelp
This indeed was a sweet visit. I came for dessert and the wine which were a perfect ending to my evening. The dessert hit the spot so very rich and decadent, paired perfectly with a rose wine. This alone should bring you here but there is more. You can find century old Hebrew writing on a column outside of the back door. Inside, stairs take you down to a cave like ancient wine cellar. The oldest synagogue in the world with all four walls still intact. Older than the coliseum. That's what they told me and I believe everything I am told. Except, I wouldn't believe there is a more unique and better quality of dessert in Rome.

Julia L.

Yelp
Very authentic family-owned restaurant with homemade Roman dishes. The staff was very welcoming and provided great recommendations. They have a wine cellar that dates back to 80 BC that they allow you to explore!

Yelp
Perfecto! Thank you Francesco Romeo! (Sp?) the owner runs the best family restaurant in Rome that we could find. Great food and sweet friendly service are complimented by his wit and sense of humor, it feels just right dining here, absolutely perfect experience after many so-so evenings in Rome. The food is different from your usual flare of pizza-pasta-calzone-gnocchi-panini, I was craving steamed side of veggies, beef steak here is the best, great selection of wines (stored downstairs in centuries-old wine cellar). Wonderful ambience, relaxed atmosphere, comfy, nice (clean white tablecloths), intimate style, and you're catered to. Francesco told us a story of the building that used to be the oldest synagogue in Rome, that certainly elevates your experience a notch. We selected one of the Reds from reserve collection (I don't remember which wine exactly), and it was good (dry). Perhaps a Pinot? Coming from CA, I know my wines well and this Italian one did not disappoint. At the end of our meal, Francesco brought us a complimentary bottle of another red, which was almost just as good as the reserve. Our party selected, among other dishes, chicken liver pate, vegetable cocotte, Jewish style chicken meatballs, some kind of ancient recipe beef dish that I don't remember the name of, everything was so tasty. It really doesn't matter what you pick from the menu - you're going to enjoy it. Never thought we'd go for desserts after such a satisfying meal, and considering our time crunch to catch the last shuttle back to the hotel, but, we just couldn't resist. OMG Mmmm-good desserts: creme brûlée, panna cotta, pistachio parfait, all amazing, light, your taste buds are in heaven!

Howard H.

Yelp
Excellent food and even better, fun owners. The restaurant is located in one of, if not the, oldest continuously used buildings in Rome. The wine cellar, located in the basement, was an ancient synagogue.

Yelp
What an unexpected pleasure! The owner/host graciously seated our party of 4 for dinner when our reservation had been set for a night later. We sampled the vegetable pie (artichoke and mushroom), a black truffle soup, vegetarian pasta, and a Roman pork shoulder dish traced to someone who cooked for Julius Caesar. Superb wine list. We sampled five choices on the dessert menu before heading into the wine cellar to view some of the ancient building foundations. Two thumbs up and will definitely eat here again. Grazie mille!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
This is a place to stop! So quaint and fun! Every bite was amazing, the owner was there and he had great energy. He educated us on the building and why they selected to serve certain entrees. If you are in the area make sure to stop and take a trip to the wine cellar

Yelp
One star for decent food + decor (though comparable to all the other restaurants in the area). But why just one star? Because the service was appallingly sexist and rendered to please a man, who they mistakingly assumed would be paying. As a gal who eats out every night and consistently travels every few weeks for work and play, trust me when I say this was the most sexist service I've ever received in all my years and I'm generally pretty oblivious. Honestly, this was so obvious that I feel the need to write about it. An older gentleman came over to our table (where I sat with my boyfriend) and asked how we heard about the place. He said he checks the ratings every night as it's important to him. Then, he proceeded to speak only towards the man I was with, meanwhile completely dismissing me --a woman-- even as I tried to add a few nice comments ... he spoke over me and didn't even look at me. Later, he came back for another chat and continued to speak only to my partner, again not even looking me in the eye and acting as if I was invisible. After a friendly female waitress served our dinner, as dessert came, that elderly gentleman came back and put the plate down on my side and proceeded to slide the plate away from me and across the table to my boyfriend, and I'm not kidding when he said "ahhh, you're the man of this table, therefore you *must* try the dessert first". I literally couldn't believe what I was hearing and seeing. When the bill came, a male chef handed it to our table and literally said (no joke) "in Rome, women are not allowed to pay, it's always the man" and handed it straight to my boyfriend. To his surprise I responded "Actually sir, I will be paying." The chef came back and opened the bill, and when he saw it was actually my credit card he raised his eyebrows as if ashamed. Then he started speaking to the both of us as if I was suddenly present. Surprise surprise. Later before we left (and we were the last guests to leave), he handed me a bottle of wine as a "gift". Was it a gift or perhaps an obvious apology to absolute blatant sexism I experienced the entire night to avoid me writing a poor review? I'll let you guess. Either way, I'm not a fool. Big props to our female waitress though, who while sampling the wine politely asked "who will be trying the first sip?" ... it seems it was only the male staff who obviously had no manners here.

Yelp
Notice how many of these 5 star reviews are from a "Local Guide"? This place was not on our list of places to eat based on earlier research, but our VRBO host recommended it as we were next door. Bad idea. My first hint that this would not be a real "Roma" experience was when all the customers were American. My second hint was when the first question out of our host's mouth was "how did you hear about us". Meaning, "what marketing investment is giving me the best ROI?" We got the spiel about the synagogue and the 80bc wine cellar. The story was inspiring - but it looked like any other old European wine cellar. Yawn But the biggest disappointment was the food itself. The artichoke pie was very nice. The pasta amatriciata was good but nothing to write home about. But the beef filet was so nothing - bland and boring. Especially given that their prices are higher than similar restaurants, my wife and I would never recommend this place, especially if you are looking for a slice of real Rome.

Yelp
This restaurant lies on a wine cellar that predates the colosseum and within a building that housed one of the first Roman synagogues. The history of this building is impressive but I suspect that if you delved into the archives of any building within throwing distance, you'd find the same. Sitting down, I was concerned that the host asked how we heard about this place. The wine list was extensive, made up of Italian wines. The host's recommendation was full bodied and delicious. I was excited to pair this with the food. Then, the food came and I was less enthused. Perhaps, I do not enjoy authentic Roman food.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant , quality food and customer service. Came here on a recommendation who had visited here many time, we reserved a table online for dinner. This is only one for dinner, so I would def suggest to book ahead. It is nested on a cow tone street and easy to miss, so I would suggest walking here, but it is accessible via cars. We were greeted and seated immediately and our group Of 4 were beyond impressed. The restaurant is owned by a family- father is the host, mother is he chef and son is the server. They have expanded vastly with about 7 tables in total, and it was very busy for a Thursday night. Each selection is perfected and chosen with the best ingredients. They have apps, first course, main course and desert. I had the zucchini pie and buffalo Mozzarella for app- the mozzarella is a favorite amongst many guests, it was perfected with the right amount of spices. For dinner I got the half ragatoni and half white sauce with mixed Meat, and other got linguine with fish, and two other spaghetti options. They were out of epic abc and lamb but I've heard that their spinach salad is one of their best foods. We were so impressed with the restraints history- wine cellar available to tour and have drinks is older than the colosseum, the restaurant walls are the original synagogue walls, with the dining room being the oldest synagogue in the country(I think). For desert, I was blown away by the creme Brûlée and panna cotta with lavender. I could not believe the different layers of freshness in the desert. To top off our meal we drank the White House wine- loved it so much that we ended up ordering two bottles. I would come back here in a heartbeat and bring everyone I know. 5 stars for quality, taste, price and customer service.
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
Amazing. The staff is amazing, the chef is amazing, the food is amazing, everything about this place is simply amazing. My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary there and they were just wonderful. The food was top quality- you can taste the freshness. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Rome, hands down.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
We went here on a recent trip to Rome. I made reservations online with ease. My sister had the pork recipe from Caesar's chef, and it was amazingly tender and succulent. We also tried the chicken liver paté, the spaghetti with tapenade, and the filet. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was top notch. As we were leaving, the proprietor gifted us a bottle of wine from Sicily! My favorite part of our dinner there was the ancient wine cellar (80 b.c.--used to be a synagogue)--what a gorgeous and lovely history!
google avatar

Yelp
I have visited this restaurant multiple times since around 2006 until 2018. Every time I visit I am delighted and enchanted, not only by the plating and creative twists on popular Italian dishes, but also by the wonderful family who owns and operates this restaurant, as well as its historical significance as the oldest synagogue in Rome, with a wine cellar that dates back to the 1st century AD. This restaurant fully embraces the slow food movement, and Francesco and the other staff are adept at suggesting wines from around the country that will pair well with their dishes. Be sure to call ahead and fix a reservation as this is a popular place especially on the weekends, and try the Pork Shoulder!
google avatar

Az A.

Yelp
Yes! Best meal we had in Rome. Food was phenomenal. Service was flawless. Staff was sweet, funny, and genuine. I had the paté, and pork shoulder, both prepared to perfection. My husband had the filet of beef that was flavorful and so tender he could literally cut it with the side of his fork. Add to that the fact that this family run restaurant is located in one of the oldest buildings in Rome, older than the coliseum, and you've got a winner. If you have a minute between courses, or after dinner, check out the wine cellar built in 80 b.c. Yes. Go here.
google avatar

Cris F.

Yelp
Four of us had an oustanding dinner there tonight. Every dish and the wine were excellent. Make a reservation. It was a bit more expensive, but a great value. Tell Romeo hello.
google avatar

Ivette C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I agreed that we would go back to Rome just to dine here, again!!! We had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful establishment in September 2016. It's a family owned business, the mom is the chef! The owners are simply amazing and so friendly. They make all their guests feel like old friends. Quite unique and lovely. They allowed us to tour the wine cellar that smells like history!!! It was like going back in time. Such a wonderful experience. The food and wine selection is DELICIOUS!!!! We went back twice during our stay in Rome, that's how great our experience was.
google avatar

Joseph L.

Yelp
A lovely place owned by a family. The son/husband is the primary host and waiter, and the mother and wife are chefs in the back. From start to finish, the meal was excellent, the wine pours were generous, and the atmosphere was welcoming. All in all, a lovely experience in a nice neighborhood. Would definitely repeat.
google avatar

Dr. K.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Rome! Food is AMAZING. Everything was superb. Family business: mom is the awesome chef, father walks around explaining the food and the building (super fun and friendly), son takes care of everything and is incredibly hospitable and funny, daughter-in-law serves. I will come here every time I'm in Rome, and will send everyone I know here. Could not have been better.

Nicholas V.

Yelp
Stop what you're doing, and go here for dinner. Seriously. You'll thank me later. It's a family owned restaurant with Mom in the back cooking (which in Italy, 99% of the time means it's awesome, anyway). She is also just an amazing chef, regardless. Staff were above and beyond friendly and accomodating. And the wine cellar was a thing of beauty.
google avatar

Yelp
FANTASTIC!! Make that reservation before you even leave on your trip!! It's booked every night! A must stop in Rome! The owner and his son were a treat. They made sure that we were taken care of from start to finish! My bf and I discovered this amazing place from his friend who raved about this little gem and was he right! This was by far our favorite place for our entire trip! Everything from the beginning was fantastic! Can't decide on a wine? Ask the son! He recommended a delicious wine based on what I told him I liked and it was spot on! The food, oh my god! Was it amazing!!! Everything was homemade and fresh from the farmers market that they picked out that morning. The mom is the cook and the two men up front are very proud of that! For starters, get the chicken liver patè! The couscous with shrimp was delicious as well but the chicken liver patè is to die for! For the first course, my bf ordered the half rigatoni with ragù sauce and I ordered the spaghetti with bacon. Every single bite was delicious. We ended up eating each other's orders, haha! Main course, I ordered the beef filet with potatoes and he ordered the pork shoulders recommended by his friend. The filet was cooked perfectly! My knife cut through it like butter and it melted like butter in my mouth! His pork shoulder was so flavorful, my bf absolutely loved it! Take a bite of the pork shoulders with the apple sauce to cut the flavor a little!! You have to do dessert! I cannot rave enough about the creme brûlée! It was heaven! Oh my god, the best of the best! You have to get it! After the first bite, it's going to ruin you for any future creme brûlées. Everything was magnificent from beginning to end. The wine, the attention, the service, the FOOD!!

Yelp
I have taken various groups to this restaurant, from family and friends to student groups and have never been disappointed. Delicious food, great atmosphere dining delight!

Yelp
Highly recommend. Very lovely family runs this place. All of the food was great and their ancient wine cellar is cool.

Yelp
My favorite house wine hands down in Italy so far! The Sangiovese house wine was so good I wish I had bought a bunch of bottles. The meals were excellent and so were the deserts! The staff was fun and friendly! Can't wait to hopefully eat here again one day!

Yelp
Amazing experience! I literally found this place on Yelp. My boyfriend and I were visiting Rome and wanted to hit Trastevere for dinner. All of the reviews were amazing and I have to add mine. I had the beef carpaccio and mozzarella to start - delish! The flavors were so unique and great. I had the spaghetti with bacon as my second course while my beau had the pasta with mussels. Even more amazingness. As our mains, I had the chicken meatballs (yum!) and he had the pork shoulder. He loved every bite of the pork. The meatballs were okay but didn't blow my socks off. I did appreciate the wine that was selected for us - which the owner's son provided a free bottle. And after dinner, do head to the wine cellar for a quick tour. The overall experience was A+ from the service to the food to the atmosphere. Def check it out for dinner one night!

Yelp
Delicious meal. The most unique meal we had in Rome. Everything on the menu looks delicious , generally I'm a creature of habit and order the same ole everywhere but everything looked so amazing we decided to be adventurous and were not disappointed . The owner is very personable introduces himself and personally checks on the tables ,he's adorable. Even cooler is the history behind this place, do yourself a favor and look it up before you go it'll make it that much more memorable.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
They pride themselves on slow food and they are serious about it. The restaurant is in a 2000 year old synagogue, which is super cool. It is family run and you can tell. I think we were seated by grandpa, son took our order And mom cooked the food. Do not be mistaken, even if this is family run it is fine dining but with a reasonable price. Beautiful presentation and space, relatively small portions, delicious wine.

Yelp
Despite the unassuming feel of the restaurant, we had a great meal in Rome at this casual and beautiful restaurant. The basement/ wine cellar has such charm and history as well as the building. The other reviews surprise me as we loved it here.

Yelp
What a treat! Beautiful decor, delicious food and a lovely and gracious staff. We could not have asked for a better dining experience for our last evening in Roma! My husband and I were first greeted and seated by Francesco (the son-in-law of the owners)...who others have mentioned, knows his American football and chatted up my husband. :o) Next his charming father-in-law approached our table and with great pride explained that the structure pre-dated the Colosseum and encouraged us to take a walk down to the wine cellar...which was very cool! He gave us the rundown on their menu. My husband and I decided we wanted to taste a variety of items (all conceived and cooked by his wife) so we shared a number of the courses which they accommodated very graciously. All were spectacular: 1. Cheese plate: Caciofiore & Marzolina cheeses complimented with a sweet and sour red onion compote 2. Deer bresola with salad, grape & nuts 3. Fresh linquine with fish ragu 4. Pork shoulder (prepared from a recipe originated by Julius Caesar's cook, Gaius Matius): apple, onion, honey, vinegar, red wine and spices (fennel seed). Anchovy sauce for salting. Served with apple pure and vegetables. 5. Panna cotta, lavender flavoured with pistachio mousse Treat yourself to a lovely evening at Spirito Divino (located in Trastevere). You will not regret it!
google avatar

Victoria F.

Yelp
Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely evening and enjoyed learning the history of the building!

Yelp
In a historical building originally used as a synagogue, one of the oldest buildings in Rome with walls still fully intact. Part of the slow food movement, this family run establishment will not disappoint. Chef Eliana prepares outstanding dishes while her husband, Romeo oversees the restaurant engaging the guests and son Francesco assists in the kitchen and oversees the wine cellar. Check out their fantastic website. The food was fabulous and the entire evening what quite a treat. Located in the lovely Trastevere district. Don't miss the wine cellar.
google avatar

Matthew P.

Yelp
Please... complete tourist trap. No locals and only English speaking patrons. Not super expensive, but not worth the money for what you get. The famous roman made pork shoulder made the same way as Julius Caesar's chef... crock pot style, absolutely nothing special. Someone needs to google oldest synagogue in Rome too. The service was crap... And some other comments mention a condescending owner/son tandem... With which I agree. If you don't mind being talked down to, with a sctick the owner Romeo users on EVERY patron... Go for it. Do yourself a favor and give €70 to a old real Roman woman beggar and grab a meal at a little authentic Roman restaurant.

Yelp
Best dinner we had in all of Italy. The owner was so very personal. The food and wine were amazing. I strongly recommend dining here. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Excellent in every way I think. When in Rome, do as the French do.

Yelp
We ate at Spirito di Vino as a party of 4 (two couples). We had an early reservation (7:30) on a Saturday night, and literally from the second we came through the door we were treated like family, from the owner, the chef, the server, everyone was very friendly. The owner in particular stopped by our table many times to chat about his background and ask about ours. He was genuinely warm and very funny, it was obvious he takes pride in his restaurant and product. All of us thought the food was exceptional. I had the beef fillet, it was perfect, and the artichoke pie appetizer was fantastic. The building has a rich history, described on their website, and the wine cellar alone is worth the visit. I give Spirito di Vino high marks in all areas, and will 1000% recommend and visit again.

Yelp
We had wonderful food, great service, and an excellent host. Arriving on a rainy evening it would probably have been safest to have a prenotazione! Allora... they were able to take us because we came early (Italians usually do not start arriving until after 8/30) and because--apparently--I had a beautiful woman with me. The ambiance is not exceptionally Roman, but the service is attentive and the place appears to be run by a gentleman with a fantastic flare for story and experience. We had a great time here and would highly recommend it. (The creme brûlèe, almond-chocolate cake, carciofi pie, Spaghetti with bacon, Grana cheese fondue and saffron, and the Fusilli with Li Galli style sauce were all great.)

Yelp
Considering how highly this place was recommended, I was certainly underwhelmed by the food to say the least. The pasta was good, not great, my panna cotta was of liquid consistency and the service was just ok. The best part is the historic wine cellar and that the restaurant is in a landmark building, but it's worth the price. By the one of the biggest tourist traps in the city.

Yelp
Great service, great food all homemade and kid friendly. Highly recommend it! Had a great last dinner of our vacation in Rome at Spirito Divino, can't wait to visit against and eat here again!

Yelp
the service was extremely attentive, the owners son insured each diner received individualized attention. His mother cooked our meals. The food was non GMO. The pork shoulder was tender with a tasty gravy and a side of the most delicious apple sauce I have ever tasted. I wasn't a fan of the chocolate almond cake. Take a walk downstairs to wine cellar.
