In Lehi, Utah where chain restaurants multiply faster than Mormon families, I made my second visit to Spitz, a Mediterranean gem that's actually open on Sundays. As a self proclaimed Mediterranean food snob, trust me when I say this place is the real deal.
Forget those nickel and dime joints that charge you extra for breathing near the feta cheese, The feta flows freely here, along with your choice of protein (chicken, beef, lamb, falafel, or gyro), pickled onions that'll make your taste buds dance, and enough black olives to make an Italian grandmother proud. Choose between rice pilaf or quinoa (for those of us pretending to be healthy), and don't skip the crunchy garbanzos - they're like Mediterranean popcorn!
Price-wise, you're paying Chipotle rates for Zeus-worthy portions. Skip the usual sugary fountain drinks (your pancreas will thank you) and try their free mint-lemon infused water instead.
The decor is a time machine to the vinyl era, with enough LP records on display to make any hipster weep with joy. While your eyes feast on vintage vibes, your ears get modern beats, and the kids can channel their inner Picasso on the chalk wall.
The staff is friendly, bringing food right to your table. And when you're done? Just leave your plates.
In a sea of cookie-cutter franchises, Spitz is the rebellious cousin who actually learned to cook from grandma.
