Walked in a while back and was blown away by the hospitality! Even though I arrived just 15 minutes before closing, the staff welcomed me with kindness and made me feel at home. The drinks were awesome, and the food was absolutely amazing, everything was fresh and flavorful. This place has definitely become my go-to spot whenever I’m craving Mediterranean food, they just dont miss!

Google
First of all ambience was great. Tried the street cart fries which was super delicious. Chicken gyro was good, could have been better. Falafel Vegan bowl was decent. Strawberry nojito (non alcoholic) was not good. I was not able to taste any strawberry in it except mint. Little expensive but good quality and quantity.

Google
Everything about this place is good. I like to try a new item from their menu every time I go and this time I tried their doner basket. It didn't disappoint! Light but filling and simply delicious.

I happen to go to this place when I was in Dallas and I really loved it so when I found out there was one here in Minneapolis I decided to check it out. It was the same place and just as freaking tasty. I remembered from the Dallas menu that there was this taquito that I had had that was super good. Apparently it’s only served as part of their happy hour menu and I highly recommend you try it. Aside from it being super delicious, It’s also very filling and if you get two of them then it’s a meal on its own. I love their doner salad because it comes with everything and it’s both filling and refreshing. This place also has a great atmosphere with an awesome alcohol selection. Spitz is a must stop.

Google
Decent food, service was on a slower side but really friendly and welcoming. There are boardgames here and water is served with lemon or lime, which is nice. The design of the place is quite all over the place, separate moments are cute, but the together picture is confusing. Probably would visit once or for cocktails!

Google
We love coming here for their vegetarian/vegan options! The falafel is amazing. The portions are large but worth the money you’re paying. Flavor is sooo delicious, I always get spicy style. We order take out frequently from the app (love that there is a points/rewards system) when we are too tired to cook and it hits every time and is always ready quick. It’s definitely a staple for us.

Google
We got delivery. The food is so amazing!!! Sauces are on point and the regular fries and sweet potato fries were so good! Hummus isn't usually my thing but I loved theirs and would for sure get it again. We for sure are making plans on eating at the restaurant next time. Gyros were the best we've had in along time!

Google
This is a casual and efficient place to hang out. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. The food always comes pretty fast and I’m impressed by how fresh the veggies and salads are, and everything is in tasty combinations. I definitely recommend and will return there often

Yelp
My first Spitz experience was over four years ago and why it has taken this long to return is one of my silliest mistakes to date. On a recent rendezvous with my brother, I was quickly reminded of how fantastic this Mediterranean establishment is. Speedy, delicious, and cheap are keys to my heart in the restaurant biz - Spitz hit them all out of the park. Though I debated my food options for quite some time (sorry Isaac), I opted for a good ol gyro which was inhaled in a matter of minutes. It took everything in me to not steal my brother's extra fries (you're welcome Isaac). Taking any an all inquiries for a Spitz sponsored Boom Island picnic soon Food: two gyros with side salad Drink: beer and beer PS: on wednesdays, they have a "date night" special where you get two entrees, a large side, and a bottle of wine for $45

Yelp
Overall, Spitz was a pleasant surprise for me! The space is much bigger than it looks from the outside, but you can't move tables together (they're bolted to the floor), so our group of six couldn't all sit together. Still, the atmosphere was upbeat and fun. Ordering at the counter was quick and straightforward. The menu is large with a ton of variety, so it's easy to find something for almost any craving. One great menu option is their date night deal. You get a bottle of wine, two entrees, and a side. I thought this was a great value and a fun way to try a few different things. I ended up getting the zesty feta wrap with mixed protein and it was fantastic. It had just the right amount of flavor and the light toasting gave it a great texture. For the side we got the quinoa salad and I was seriously impressed. It was super fresh and really tasty. Spitz provides a really solid experience with great food and a fun concept. Just wish they had a little more flexibility with seating.

Yelp
Great food at a great price! Street car doner with quinoa salad. We actually got the date night deal (two entrees, a large side, and a bottle of wine) and thought that the price was good for what you got! Otherwise nice casual dining experience. Pretty quick food delivery to your table but otherwise you serve yourself (water station, silverware, etc).
google avatar

Yelp
Overall, this hit the spot! I love kebabs and wraps of all kinds so the variety of the menu is great. The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is inviting. Service was friendly and incredibly efficient. I would definitely come back and try some other menu items.
google avatar

Yelp
Loveeee this place!!! I love the Medi bowl!! The falafel vegan wrap is also delicious.
google avatar

Anjeline R.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this and wasn't disappointed! I got the Mediterranean doner wrap, street cart fries, and my friend got the Berliner bowl. I think the wrap had great flavors but it seemed like there was more wrap than filling at times. The fries were delicious but definitely needed more banana peppers. But I was happy with the experience and definitely will go back and try other dishes!
google avatar

Mia M.

Yelp
Pretty solid Mediterranean food! I think I usually prefer something more traditional and simple, but all of our food was fresh and flavorful. Very laid-back vibe--counter ordering (including walking back up to the bar if you need a soda refill), and plenty of board games available to play. The fries here were maybe the crispiest fries I've ever had in my life. Even doused in sauces and topping, the fries maintained their structural integrity through our whole meal. The menu was pretty overwhelming, so I got the street cart wrap ($13.95) at the recommendation of the cashier/bartender, and it was delicious and pretty sizable! They also have some events like game nights and such that seem like they'd be fun to come to, so I'll likely be back to check those out and try out the rest of the menu.

Yelp
I'm usually not one for going to a chain, but this place was fantastic! Saw that this place was highly rated and great for kids. The Prince wall is glorious to see upon arrival. Other legends on the wall include Audrey Hepburn and Bob Dylan. The drinks were delightful! The Tropic Thunder is everything you want in summer drink and purple! The gyro wrap with fries was so delicious! The hostess/bartender was so friendly and helpful with suggestions! The music ambiance was everything I needed and wanted, Great place for kids, groups and someone stopping in for a quick bite. Wish you were all in Madison WI.

Yelp
Meat: yum Garlic naan: yum Falafel: yum Salad: yum... selfishly would love more than 2 olives Fries: yum but could use accompanying sauce. Dressing and sauce: yum but both vinegar based so needed some sweet to balance Waited the expected time for takeout. Cool atmosphere in the place too. Will return

Yelp
A girlfriend asked me to meet her here for dinner and wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I parked in the back parking lot and came in through the back door. It's a nice cozy place. You have to go up to order your food, which is fine. I was paying in cash and they didn't have change for me so probably pay with a card next time I got a hot toddy and the gyro and the gyro was very flavorful and good. I will probably come here again if I'm in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Matthew P.

Yelp
What a great place for a quick bite. The food quality is very high and the quantities are perfect for the price. I had the Doner Wrap and Gyro and it was so tasty! I can't wait to come back and try more!
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Came here to try out the food because I heard Spitz caters weddings and was so pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. The fries are simply the best type of fries there are and the meat is flavorful and delicious. Even though there was a Halloween bar crawl the service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere has an upscale feel but it is not a stuffy place what so ever. Overall I highly recommend.

Yelp
Spitz has a lot of potential, but needs to undergo some improvements to shine. This is mainly a review of the diner wraps, and I'll start with the good: overall, the food is flavorful and service is friendly and fast. The Northeast Minneapolis location has a cool industrial feel to it. The crux of Spitz 's issue is consistency. Strangely enough for a restaurant inspired by street food, they have some temperature control issues. Food that's fresh out of the kitchen can be cold, and the sauces feel like they've been soaking into the other ingredients far longer than they should have been, almost as if they're premade to an extent. Speaking of ingredients, while packing a flavor punch, they're distributed inconsistently throughout the wraps. The tortillas are also on the harder side and crumble easily. At over $15 out the door for a wrap with no sides, portions are also lacking. If some of these issues were rectified, spitz could be an all-star fast casual spot. The ingredients show the potential, especially the meats, but they've got some distance to go.

Yelp
Seriously such a great spot for Mediterranean food! I recommend spitz to anyone who likes Mediterranean food. Such great sauces and flavors, definitely lots of variety on the menu, and their sides are great! They have sweet potato waffle fries which are great and their regular fries are so good as well! You order at the counter and they bring it to you, service is fast and people were helpful! Little hard to get to with construction right now but one of my new favorite spots!

Yelp
I can't believe I waited so long to try this place. Me and a group of friends dined in here Summer 2023 and it blew my mind. Whenver I would search for "vegan food near me" Spitz would come up but I would honestly ignore it assuming they just had one item (which would be a hummus bowl). Dang was I wrong, they have quite a few options and they are all so tasty! I am forever trying to convince my place of work to cater in Spitz for work meetings now. The space was super fun and didn't feel like a chain (which I think they are?) Very impressed and can't wait to try again.

Yelp
The best Mediterranean food I found in the Twin cities! I am sure there might be other good places, but being a Naf Naf grill lover before, coming to Spitz, has completely changed my tasted in good medditerenean food! Everything was so fresh and had authentic flavors with a twist. The place was very lively with a fun ambience and had board games to play while waiting for the food. They had a really good cocktail and mocktail menu too! The loaded fries were my favorite! It was not just loaded with cheese but a lot of veggies which felt great. The sauce on the top had a good kick to it! The medditerenean and berliner wrap were moist with good portions of chicken and sauces! They have 2 hot sauces on the side, that was amazing too! The medi bowl was very refreshing and felt like a very healthy dinner bowl. The propotions were decent and the yogurt sauce went so well with everything Definitely my favorite medditerenean spot in town.

Yelp
Spitz was a takeout go-to when I lived in the neighborhood; I always get the chicken gyro combo with both regular fries and sweet potato fries. I love the berliner sauce and both of their fries (especially the sweet potato -- they're waffle!), and the gyro itself is usually solid. The docked stars are mostly due to a lack of consistency; I've had some orders come out really good and others not so much -- most memorable among the disappointing gyros was one with a really hard pita that split while I was eating it. The prices (besides the gyro) also feel a bit high, and having to pay for extra sauce, especially when the cups aren't that big to begin with, is a bit annoying. Another thing to note if you're ordering ahead is that they prepare the drinks when they get you your order, which is nice for preventing watered-down drinks but also means you sometimes have to ask them for it (I had someone else pick up an order once, and they didn't get the drink).
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
Wraps & bowls are the headliners here at spitz, all with a Mediterranean/European twist. The food is well prepared and very tasty. They have a large selection of drinks, Sangrias and beer on tap. You order at the counter and they bring you meal. It's well decorated inside, very trendy and modern. Try Spitz, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I happened to go into Spitz for lunch about 5 months ago. I was very pleasantly surprised. I don't expect good food, that status is earned. Where did this middle-eastern food come from? It is outstanding. I have been back three times. The owner was at the bar, I asked for a soda water, he poured it and said no charge. Then we chatted for a while. There is room for many yet intimate setting with high tops and tables. This is a "do not miss" place to eat!!!!! Great Food.
google avatar

Yelp
Spitz has always been a favorite spot in Minneapolis for me, and it still is. Recently, I've been loving their falafel gyro combo. It is soooooo good. I always get it with their sweet potato waffle fries (which are truly some of the best in the Twin Cities). I also love their Arnold palmers, which aren't like typically Arnold palmers but still so good. The service here is also always top tier. Friendly staff, quick on orders, 10/10 experiences always. If I'm ever in need of a meal to go, Spitz is my stop.

Yelp
Fun and delicious food. Unique bowls of fresh ingredients. Reasonably priced and lots to choose from. Looking forward to trying the sandwiches. Their pita bread was amazing.

Yelp
Second visit to Spitz. 1st time to Mpls location. Brought neighbors and my wife who were all newbies. They checked out the menu, the food on the next table (to gauge serving size, and we ordered. The Mpls location is a bit more jigsaw cut in its layout. Definitely feels like they are a hip/modern spot. They did have the music cranked up making difficult to have a conversation. Full bar available. I had a cider and the neighbors had wine. Food arrived quickly. I ordered the Berliner Wrap and fries (a combo of regular and waffle sweet potato). The neighbors had a salad and a bowl. My wife also had a bowl. Everyone commented on how fantastic the meals looked and then we all dug in. We all loved how fresh, crunchy and flavorful all the components were. The flavors of the included sauces, spreads, etc. blend so well with the proteins and veggies. 3 of the 4 of us took home boxes. We all to home happy and full bellies. I think we will all return often.

Yelp
Good lunch spot. Has a small parking lot so parking is not a problem in this busy neighborhood. Counter service. Plenty of seating inside. Nice casual ambiance with a art deco feel. The staff was very helpful in printing out food and drink options. The food came out hot. The fries were very tasty. The street cart diner wrap with extra spice was well toasted and had a good mix of land and beef and veggies. Toasted on the outside. Tasty. With a good amount of heat. Definitely will be back to try so e other of their offerings.

Christopher M.

Yelp
Elevated street eats! Fantastic food and incredibly fast service. Make sure you snag the fried pita strips
google avatar

Yelp
The food and vibes were immaculate! I got a very sizable portion for my Doner Bowl, which was packed with fresh yummy ingredients. There were lots of good sauces to experiment with as well. The music is a bit loud but in a fun way - definitely enjoyed it since I'm a fan of 90's R&B. As a hip young person in the city, I think it's a pretty cute spot We got here at about 5:30 on a Friday and it was starting to fill up by the time we left at 6:15. Even though they were busy, the staff were super friendly and the food came out super quickly. I'll definitely be back in the future!
google avatar

Alec S.

Yelp
Love this spot. A nice casual spot for lunch or dinner, the grain bowls are a hearty and healthy option for lunch and dinner, and when you want to treat yourself the Doquitos are delicious. Good spot for drinks and appetizers as well. Quick turnaround for takeout as well.
google avatar

Selina S.

Yelp
I took my cousin here she requested Mediterranean food. I just looked it up. It's in a corner lot and watch out the parking is just right beside their building. I am definitely coming back here. I like the vibe. We ordered more stuff but I cannot remember the names. The fries is good and the hummus and pita for appetizers.
google avatar

Trey F.

Yelp
I might tell you a joke, but I'll never tell you a lie!! So trust me when I say that Spitz is STILL so freaking delicious. It's not common to have the same great experience when going back for the second time, but Spitz made sure of it‼ We circled back here after such a great 1st experience and left really happy campers. On a Monday afternoon they had a great crowd, and the food came fairly quickly. Really nice vibe going on the inside and also outside seating. When you enter, they'll instruct you to grab a menu off the wall, grab seating of choice and help yourself to lime and mint infused water( I think I remembered that correctly). I got the gyro combo and it came with fries and a fountain drink. The lamb gyro was so yummy and made real love. Fries were perfect and paired well with the serving of spicy sauce. I am almost certain the hummus is homemade bcuz the texture was magnificent and unique. Overall a very clean and filling creation of foods! Lots of vegan and vegetarian-friendly options to choose from. Admittedly, I am now pro-Mediterranean food! From the outside it looks small, but there's lot of seating on the inside. I parked on the street just a block before Spitz for anyone wondering about parking.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
Artsy fun place to grab Mediterranean. Stopped by here with my friend after work to catch up during dinner on a Thursday. Place was busy, but was still able to find a table: you seat yourself. One orders at the register, takes a number back, and waits for them to bring the goods. The food was light and tasty. The gyro was super filling and had lovely fresh vegetables to spruce up a winter fare. Instead of the combo I ordered a small fry and the potion was enormous: definitely something to split! Plus that aioli.. super yummy. The white sangria was not my favorite, but still refreshing. The stenciling on the wall is a fun conversation starter, one could find Prince and maybe a reference to a Roman vacation. Staff were very friendly and had a hipsterish vibe.
google avatar

Gita B.

Yelp
I was expecting to find a little take out joint, but pleasantly surprised to walk in and find it is serviced, with a full bar! I had a falafal wrap, which was very tasty and filling. Glad I got to check out Spitz!
google avatar

Anastasiya K.

Yelp
My go- to place! So yummy and such a great interior vibe! I love the bowls and the sangria drinks are the best.
google avatar

Kavitha P.

Yelp
Good place for lunch, closest thing in the cities I can find that resembles a true doner kebab found in Europe. I like to order the street cart doner with mixed meat and a side of street cart fries. They have some nice sangrias and infused free waters. Love the decor in here lots of my fave Prince on the walls! Average city prices now and decent portions, parking in the back.
google avatar

Robert W.

Yelp
Sorry for the blurry photos, I thought I had already reviewed Spitz when I took the photo so I wasn't really paying close attention. Spitz is a nice gyro stop in Northeast Minneapolis that offers the more Turkish influenced style of Gyros that are common in Germany and other European countries outside of Greece. They have really good fries, tasty gyros, and a cool atmosphere with games like mini shuffleboard to enjoy while you wait for your food. Not the best gyros I have had in the Twin Cities, but definitely a really enjoyable one, and I'd recommend checking it out if you're in the area.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
In all honesty my friend and I came to the area for a different restaurant but we left with an amazing experience at Spitz! It's a small place with about 10-15 tables, super cute decor, and has a decent sized Mediterranean menu. For my visit I chose to go with their Street Gyro, your typical gyro with onion, tomato, with added french fries and your choice of either beef or and lamb, chicken, or another option. I went with the traditional beef and lamb and it was AMAZING. Packed full with meat and two different sauces, I loved it. I also got the red sangria which was very good. My friend had a meal that she loved but sadly didn't get the name of. Overall this was a great experience! Definitely check it out.
google avatar

Carli S.

Yelp
Got take out from Spitz and it was amazing! I have been there once before and the restaurant is so cute. Lots of tables and a fun bar. I am looking forward to trying the specialty cocktails the next time I go. A fun casual vibe with board games too! There is a nice little parking lot which is helpful because there is only a small amount of street parking nearby. I got the Medi bowl with lamb/beef and u it t was so full of flavor. The portions are a nice size for the price. The fries were delicious as well and I love the garlic aioli dipping sauce. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ellie B.

Yelp
Ordered in takeout/delivery from Spitz since so many friends have recommended it to me and loved it! I got the chicken street cart doner wrap with Berliner fries. Both were delicious, though the fries were a bit cold by the time they got home. I loved that the wrap had so much veg in it, it made it taste super fresh and filling. Portions are generous and pricing is fair. Next time I definitely want to visit in person to get the full experience!
google avatar

Marla K.

Yelp
Spitz hits the mark on everything! The food was de-lish, The service was fast and friendly, and they played 90s/00s R&B with decorations to go with it. The food was reasonably priced for the quality and size of the portions. There isn't too much seating inside, so if you're going with a big group plan accordingly. Loved this place and will for sure be a returning customer!

Tua A.

Yelp
while I can't attest to the food because we decided not to eat here. I can attest to the behaviors of the two girls working when we went to try this place. we waited in the front for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us their behaviors were very strange We turned around and decided not to eat here. Also there is no outdoor seating like advertised
google avatar

Nina B.

Yelp
Ordered Spitz's 'Build Your Own Buffet' for a lunch meeting. They arrived on time, the delivery driver was kind and set up nicely, and the food was delicious. They had a great variety of choices for people with dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free, etc.) Best part? They labeled their food! I've ordered from many restaurants and none of them has ever done that before. Also, I should note: there were poked holes on the lids of the containers that had the falafels and pita bread--this is especially important so that it doesn't become soggy. It's those little details that matter. We will definitely order from them again!
google avatar

Yelp
WE ARE OBSESSED WITH SPITZ!!!!!! This place SLAPSSSS!!!! My fiancé is in love with the Doner Salad (it's soooo tasty) so we did a photo shoot with his one true love The staff is so kind and fun, the ambiance is upscale from fast casual, the food is priced well for the quality and portion sizes, and it's ALWAYS DELICIOUS! It's our GO TO for a casual, fun date night spot with candles on every table and fresh cocktails. The ambiance is so nice and we love watching the Red Bull TV that's always on it's really entertaining Also a great selection of board and card games. I love their beverage selection: lots of NA options, THC/CBD drinks, fresh sangria, wine, full bar and FREE fruit infused water! I think the best part is there is something for everyone on the menu: looking for a healthy veg-heavy option? Remix bowl. Looking for some drunk junk food? DOQUITOS! Want a mix? Doner salad (little bit of everything). Vegan? So many yummy options! If you go, download the app because they actually have lots of rewards! I wish I could give this place 500 stars they are doing everything right!
google avatar

Carly S.

Yelp
Always a great choice, so fresh and flavorful! One of my favorites in NE! Always recommend the sweet potato fries too though I did not get this time
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this food highly enough. I used to live in Europe and had döner all the time. The is the absolute closest I have ever had to the Turkish döner I had in Europe -- I will be dreaming about this meal for a long time! The döner wrap with lamb/beef was the way to go. My husband liked the crispness of the wrap. We ordered a side of sweet potato waffle fries, and those did not disappoint. The seasoning was delectable and the dipping sauce such a great complement to the fries. Definitely order the large, because you will want as many as possible! The restaurant itself was fun, clean, bright, with lots of wall art. The bathroom was clean -- always important to me. The staff member at the bar was really friendly. You won't regret grabbing lunch or dinner at this restaurant!
google avatar

Lynne C.

Yelp
We were definitely craving some Mediterranean eats and this place did not disappoint! It was a first time and they had a date night special for the day we came in so we had a few questions -- the staff was so polite and friendly! They also weren't pushy which was super appreciated! I ended up choosing the Berliner Doner combo that came with French fries + drink and my husband ordered the Doner Salad -- both were very delicious and filling! My doner had so much in it that I could barely fit the unicorn baklava but of course... I found a way :) it was a super short wait and we didn't even finish putting our jenga together before our food arrived, highly recommend for a fun date night with casual vibes and great eats

Yelp
Not sure why it took me so long to visit, but I'm so glad I did! My boyfriend and I shared the gyro sandwich (you can get it without fries), and the Street Cart Fries with the works (protein added). It was enough for us both! The pita had a nice crisp on the outside, and a good heap of meat. It could have used a bit more tzatziki. It wasn't served with any red/ hot sauce, but we just asked and they were able to supply. That said, very tasty. The fries, were very filling and had lots of flavor. I only wish the olives, and meat were chopped and spread out. To drink, I got the red sangria which had pomegranate, strawberries and lime. Sadly it was very tart! Even the staff agreed. He gave me some agave which helped only a bit. That said, they have lots of drink options, so I'll try something new next time.
google avatar

Cory J.

Yelp
When lived in the area, this was my favorite place to get a mediterranean wrap. The falafel and the lamb hit strong with flavor and it was a fun experience. There cocktails are always done well. And there fries or zesty, crisp, and explode with flavor. What I really love about this place is the interior. I am a music lover and the have vinyl records all around the place from modern to old to new. They has a james taylor album, which got me excited. The inside is modern and rustic. Great experience!!
google avatar

Sahithi M.

Yelp
Visited this place once again and it never disappoints! Loved their cocktails and food... they added few more drink options to the list...
google avatar

Kedar D.

Yelp
Spitz is a doner kebab chain that has a dedicated vegan section on the menu, but doesn't offer anything terribly interesting or innovative (think falafel and quinoa). I wish they had vegan shawarma (which is not too much to ask, given that they're a few blocks away from Herbivorous Butcher). I got a vegan medi falafel bowl ($13.50) and found it acceptable, but nothing to write home about. If you want better falafel, check out Loon Deli on Lyndale, Wally's Falafel in Dinkytown, Foxy Falafel in St. Paul or Shish in St. Paul. If they expand their vegan offerings (aside from shawarma, how about baklava or a chicken harissa dish?), I would probably stop by again.
google avatar

Kaylee L.

Yelp
Delicious!!! Love the environment at the restaurant and service is always great. Probably one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in Minneapolis!
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
I will preface this by saying I don't actually like Mediterranean food very much, so the fact that I am giving this 5 stars means something! Lamb was cooked perfectly, both sauces went perfectly with the dish and everything was super fresh. I might be a convert to Mediterranean food after all...
